Ease of Use : 7
well ok... yes it's only 2 buttons:
- "volume" of the effect (turn it all the way down there's NO SOUND. around 3'o clock it's the normal volume, put it on full and it's a little bit like a booster)
- "speed" of the effect. ok here it get's a little tricky. i don't know if it's only my unit or if this is the way it's supposed to be; turned all the way down, there's effect. all the way up, effect. about 11'o clock is no effect. i don't find a difference between the left and right side (yet), but ok that's mine...

it's kinda difficult to set an exact setting... move it 1mm and the sound changes...
BUT... it's pretty easy to get a cool sound out of it!

this one RULES!
however, on MY unit, i give it a 7 for ease of use (don't hate me)!

ok here comes the best part; the sounds!
i was expecting some kind of boring-ish leslie-ish phase sound which does NOT REALLY come out of this one...

i have come to the conclusion that it is something like:
- smooth neck bending (a la Pete Townshend) - when set low speed.
- like a guitar sounding thru an old tape recorder, running out of batteries - when set to a mid speed.
- like something crazy and out of control - when set at high speed.

the original note gets somehow bent and slightly twisted... yes, like the previous reviewer said, nothing that can be described correctly with words, and never heard on a "famous" record before (not yet).

i play all sorts of (mostly vintage) guitars thru it... fender, gibson, dearmond, danelectro, etc. but it sounds nice and quiet. no additional noise. amps are old tube amps (sound city, marshall, fender).
a real crowd surpriser! hahaha they go like "what, it the DC current SO bad these days!?"

Reliability : 10
oh it's built like a rock! MXR pedal size and looks, but for its age, even the cool light blue color has stayed on great. no rust, or scatchy pots, etc.
likes to eat 9v batteries (like any good ol' vintage pedal), so you better disconnect the input when not using it!

the black foamy stuff on the bottom has stayed on wonderfully... been thru rain, beer, pee, etc. etc.
it's not heavy, it's small and handy, but it won't be kicking around on stage (it WILL be kicking the audience's asses!!!)

Customer Support : No Opinion
yeah right!
...have you ever HEARD the Coron brand name before getting this pedal!?

Overall Rating : 10
...if you find one of these... GET IT!
these are SO rare (like any coron pedal, really) i believe very very few of these were ever made, and the old jap stuff is gaining $$$ VERY quickly.

coolest thing is, if you want originality, this is the one to go. 30+ after, there has been NO effect made that sounds like this!

Its a pretty easy little pedal to get to grips with. There is a volume knob and an speed knob too. I looked at the circuitboard and saw no trim pots so the parameters are fixed. This is not a problem though. The pedal didn't have a manual when I got it. Its an old pedal (70s) and the box and manual are long gone - shame really.

Sound Quality : 9
The sound is very quirky and typical of pedals from this period of time. The onus back then was on making adventurous sounds and this is an unusual one. I don't know what the official description of the effect is but I'd put in a leslie sim/vibrato sort of category. It detunes the signal slightly and adds a rotary sound too. I LOVe the sound - its ace for picking out lines or keyboards too. There is no noticable signal noise.
I've yet to here the Space Machine being used by a recording artist. Someone somewhere will have used one, but when I plugged into the pedal, my reaction was 'cool - a new sound!'.
Used sparingly the effect can and will enhance any instrument put through it.

Reliability : 9
Very good - holds up well despite its old age.

not a chance - Coron are extinct.

Overall Rating : 9
Brilliant pedal - don't be put off by its MXR looks though. This is a pedal that doesn't seek to imitate. I'm suprised that Corons are not valued as highly as other old makes - maybe we should all get hold of as many of these babys before the inevitable boom happens. Top stuff!
