This pedal has three knobs for Rate, Res and Depth. Very easy to use but the Res knob is quite subtle and it took me a while to hear what it was doing.

I bought this pedal dirt cheap just to muck around with. I haven't used a lot of other phaser effects so can't give a comparison but looking at the unit it appears to be a cheaper copy of a Boss PH-1R. I wasn't expecting this pedal to become a part of my core sound but it has and I love it. The sound goes from subtle to extreme and after some use I now appreciate the Res knob. The pedal does colour my guitar sound slightly but I imagine all phaser effects would. It can get quite bassy.

The case looks just like a Boss but the casting is not up to Boss' standard. I'd guess the unit was made in the late 80's or early 90's and there is no sign of any repairs inside. I own some other Crate gear and it seems to be built to last.

I've been playing since 1981. I play mainly a Mexican Strat & Tele and an Ibanez Talman with humbuckers into a Boss OC-2 Octave, a Tech 21 Double Drive, Crate Super Phaser, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus into a Traynor YCV20 tube combo. A nice set-up good for classic rock.
I doubt if I could find another one of these pedals if I lost it. I haven't found any info on the Net. I'd probably investigate a Boss PH-1R or an MXR Phase 100 if I needed to replace this pedal.
