Its seems simple enough to use and the manual has suggestions.

Sound Quality : 1
I happen to have a lemon. It worked when I got it and then I left it alone foe a couple of months. When I decided to use it, it basically was a distortion unit. I tried several methods withe the help of the maker but this did not fix it. So basically its become a bad distortion unit.

Reliability : 1
Again, I think I lucked out and got the lemon of the batch.

Customer Support : No Opinion
David tried to help me. Email replies were show. He offered to repair it and there was no return address on the unit, manual or his website. We emailed back and forth, but my overall impression was he didn't really want to get it back and I didn't reply the last email when he asked me which country I lived. Its just that I think if you want to get it back and fix it, you would give them your return address and get it no matter from which country you're from. I live in Alaska.

These have excellent reviews and when these were called back for re-engineering I waited until a new batch came out to buy one. So its a wait that was wasted. For the price I paid for it I was willing to have it repaired, but in my opinion he didn't seem to want it back. Like I said before I think I got the lemon of the batch. Maybe he was just too busy in trying to keep up with the demand of these units.

It's easy getting just a good sound out of it, an editing patches. One page double sided manual with sufficient information and some suggested settings, which are OK. Latest Version 2008! Two separate delay buttons would make it more useful and provide two truly tonally distinct sounds.

Fender American Standard Strat to DLS Chorus II straight into Tube amp.
This CHORUS in noticeably NOISY!!!

I have to agree with a previous review. The chorus was full, huge and useful and preserves the bass. HOWEVER, it didn't work for me either! I ended up returning this pedal within a week because while it was very full/huge, it was NOT DYNAMIC in any way (not alive/3-dimensional) and it did change the TONE of my guitar NOT IN A GOOD WAY. I like my pedals to be transparent and NOISE FREE. This pedal ADDS noise (hiss). I couldn't take it and the STERILE full sound (no life of its own) made me RETURN it as fast as I got it.

I just received the Fulltone Choral Flange discontinued - a new Choral Flange Vibe is due out some time in 2009). I expect to keep the FCF since it can be used as a Flanger/Leslie type vibe too!.
I plan an ordering the AnalogMan Bi Chorus, which will get me the rich warm tones I'm after and is pristine quiet!!!

Unlike the previous reviewer I am definitely going to DOWNGRADE this pedal. I would give the Analogman Bi Chorus a try before the DLS!!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A QUIETER AND DYNAMIC BOUTIQUE PEDAL!

Reliability : 10
I would use it w/o back up. Well built!

I play in a cover band. It's nice to have 2 settings, but the STERILE sound and NOISE quickly dealt a 1-2 Punch!

If it were stolen, I'd definitely NOT ever get another one. For the money honestly, it blows (Way overpriced and bad execution when you get a Full Chorus sound with no LIFE/Nothing really special about it - Ok, it's is versatile b/c of the two choruses and easy switching b/w the 2...

I was really HOPING this was the LAST CHORUS pedal I would ever WANT/NEED to won. Unfortunately, I was willing to pay return shipping and take a slight LOSS of my $ (luckily I got a discount and was able to try it for less than RETAIL).

DON'T BUY THIS THING!!! OR AT LEAST FIND ANOTHER SUCKA' LIKE ME THAT BOUGHT IT AND HEAR IT FIRST!!! - They need to LEARN FROM ANALOGMAN about DYNAMICS/LIFE/and DLS needs a TRUE VOICE (a good one) OF ITS OWN!

Easy pedal to dial in good sounds.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I'm going no opinion here because I don't want to damage the high ratings by the other reviewers. I have a Hamer Artist, Strat with Fralins, Vox Wah,SIB varidrive,Keeley BD2, Top Hat Ambassador 35 and '70 Super Reverb. This pedal had an unacceptable level of hiss when engaged. The chorus was full, huge and useful. It preserved the bass and did not have that metallic mid bump that many chorus pedals have. However it didn't work for me and my particular set up. I now have an AnalogMan Clone Chorus and all though it does not have the pristine rack mount type versatility of the DLS, it does have a warm rich tone and is dead silent when engaged. If the DLS was a quiet as the Clone it would have been the last chorus pedal I would have ever bought.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. I liked the silent switching between the analog and digital chorus.

Sent the pedal to Dave to "check it out". Got it back with slightly less noise but just didn't meet my expectations. Great service fast turn around.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I was really hoping when I got the pedal back Dave would have found some "problem" that caused the pedals hiss. These pedals have great reviews but I noticed a reviewer on the Chorus-vib had similar results with hiss. Dave is very helpful and provides great customer support. He obviously builds quality pedals with professional musicians in mind. I may have gotten a lemon.

Very easy to use. If you set all the controls at 12 O'Clock, you get a wonderful chorus sound though this pedal is capable of much, much more.

Sound Quality : 10
Best chorus on the market, bar none. I've owned TC, Fulltone, Boss CE 2,3,5,20, CH-1, Maxon, Ibanez, etc. This pedal blows them all away. It sounds lush and full and gorgeous and it's totally transparent. Works equally well with humbuckers and single coils. Sounds great, clean and distorted. You really have to hear this thing.

With it's unique controls, it can emulate virtually any chorus on the market, be it, the CE-1, Small-stone, TC, etc...It also has a great vibrato and pseudo-univibe...
One of the few (if not the only) stereo pedal with true bypass too...

Reliability : 10
I've only had it for a week but it appears to be built like a tank.

Customer Support : 10
The engineer has emailed me many times with tips and other bits of information.

Overall Rating : 10
This pedal sounds good for everything from bluesy SRV (Think Cold Shot) to Hendrix Band of Gypsies to Pat Metheny.

Super simple to use - just turn a knob and change your sound. It's pretty impossible to get a bad sound out of this box, so you can literally plug in and fire it up to play right away. Plus they provide you with a great reference page to get started with some good sounding settings.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the best chorus that I've ever heard. Well, the AnalogMan chorus probably sounded a tad better, but it was much different. While this can get that subtle, vintage sound ALMOST as good as the AnalogMan, it can also do much much more. It's versatility is what makes it the best chorus out right now. Plus, it has two channels, so I can set one to that classic chorus sound, and one to a real watery out-of-this-world sound. Great. This pedal is simply the best there is on the market right now.

I'm using this in a couple of ways. Mainly I run a Les Paul -> a whole shitload of pedals on my board including this chorus -> a '65 Twin Reverb reissue. The pedal board has both a Big Muff PI reissue NYC and a Menatone King of the Britains distortion on it, both before the DLS, and this box sounds great clean or with either of these distortions running with it.
I'll also use this in the effects loop of my 5150 with my ESP 301 and it sounds great, both clean and distorted. One of the great things is how non-picky this box is. It sounds good whether distortion is out front or behind it, heavy or overdriven or fuzz, its always great.

Reliability : 9
Well, I did have to send it back to them, but it was probably my fault. I removed the rubber feet to put on velcro and in the process lost the star washer that connects the system ground to the base. This made the pedal really prone to static, and it failed. They told me over and over that it wasn't necessarily my fault, but whether it was or wasn't they fixed it no questions asked. If you remove the feet, whatch out for that washer!

Other than that, these suckers are built like tanks! I couldn't imagine ever breaking one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The best I've ever dealt with. Dave, one of the owners, or the owner, responds to all my emails within hours, and is seriously the nicest guy you'll ever deal with. It's like working with a dream company. Plus they even paid shipping on my repair. The world would be a different place indeed if every company was run like DLS.

Overall Rating : 10
I paid a bit more for the true bypass version, but you can save like 20 bucks or so with a buffered bypass, and I guarantee it would be dead quiet and help if you had long cable runs. If this company made every pedal I needed, they would be the only manufacturer I used. Unfortunately I need a lot of shit, but they are that good. I highly recommend this chorus and anything they put out to anyone.
