Ease of Use

this is as easy as it will ever get. you get one switch, and on knob (speed) this pedal does not have a led light to tell you if it's on or not. i gave it an 8 because of this. apparently this pedal is not produced anymore, but was first made back in the 70's and reissued a few years ago, or so i've been told.

i'm using a yamaha strat-style guitar followed by hendrix wah, danelectro fab-tone, vox valve-tone, the phasor, and into a fender princeton 112 plus. this pedal sounds great. it's a subtle phasor so it doesn't really 'woosh' but instead wobbles really nicely. the speed control takes it from a really slow, almost non-evident phasing to a fast tremelo pulse. it is a good effect to use in the background to give a little life to clean tones.

this pedal is housed in a solid steel box. i think it would take a really big person with a really really big foot to break it. the only problem i have with it is that the switch tends to be a little bit stiff to engage, so you have to give it a decent push to get it going. i wouldn't buy a backup because buying the same pedal twice is stupid.

i emailed dod the day after i got it to find out about when it was made and stuff. i received a reply with the information by the next morning.

i play whatever i feel like playing which can include punk, grunge, rock, mainstream alternative.......... if it were stolen i would want to buy it again but probably couldn't as i've never seen it in another shop before (aside, obviously, from the one i bought). i compared this against an ibanez soundtank phaser, which in comparison was rubbish to this dod. i must admit that i was sceptical from the start about any dod product, as i own a dod tec4 multi effects, which i really don't like (emphasizing 'really'), but once i heard this pedal, i knew it was what i was looking for. i wish though that it had a depth control, or an effect level control, which would make it a whole lot more versatile. so, buy one if you can find one.
