This is as far as I'm Concerned THE BEST SOunding and feeling OVERDRIVE pedal for Tube amps, especially Marshall. It has awonderful bubbly tonal characteristic to it, very Yngwie! DOES NOT ALTER YOUR AMP SOUND AT ALL, just boosts the signal ..I play through TWO Marshall Heads, 78' JMP 50w and 81' JCM 800 100w, and I run an Echoplex through a effeects loop, from the guitar I go into MXR phase 90, DOD 250, Boss Noise Suppressor to the amp. Sometime I use an old Ibanez TS-9 after the DOD for different tones. I usually set the gain at 2 oclock and the Level at 11 oclock on the DOD. I play vintage early 70's strats with Hs-3's and YJM in neck. This a very pure Rockin tone if your into Purple, Yngwie, Van Halen, style. The only pedal that I think compares to this is Fulldrive2 (uncompressed mode) and MXR Micro amp (not as fat as 250). I have had this pedal since 81' and won't ever get rid of it.

The only time I had an issue wth this is the battery clip came off the wire and I had to solder it back...big deal! It's solid as a rock

Awesome Overdrive if you're looking for the sound I described in the Sound Quality box. I'de buy it again, if I had it stolen or lost, however I wouldn't buy a reissue, because I thought my old original one sounded better, so I'de look for a old one. I wish it were quieter, I wouldn't have to run a Boss Noise Suppressor.
