2 Knobs! Level and compression. Couldn't be easier.

Sound Quality : 9
Excellent sound! Much more invisible sounding compession than most, including the dyna comp. I hate the clicky sound you get with most compressors alomg with the clipped high and low end but this pedal is pretty good at compressing the signal without comprimising the tone of the guitar. I use to use the script logo Dyna Comp but I prefer this pedal now. Plus you can get them for 1/2 the price.

Reliability : 10
Built solid, much like an old MXR.

Mostly use it for my countryish band. '68 tele through a '66 Deluxe Reverb. This pedal really helps the my clean sound ring out sweetly. I kick it off for overdrive or disrtotion though, I just the prefer the natural sound of the dirty signal, plus when I crank the amp up I'm getting plenty of beautiful compression out of the tubes naturally.

Very easy to use with two controls: Compression and Level. Mine is a red stomp box 1998 reisse of the original vintage pedal. It has true bypass (Carling DPT Stompswitch) and no LED to indicate power/effect on. You may take some time to find your adjust, considering the amount of compression or noise is acceptable to your sound.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a Fender American FatStrat -> Jimmy Hendrix Wah -> DOD Compressor 280 -> MXR Distortion+ -> EHX Big Muff -> EHX Small Clone -> Guyatone Vintage Tremolo -> Morley Deluxe Flanger -> ROSS Phaser -> Danelectro PB&J Delay -> BOSS Noise Gate NF-1 -> Laney LC-30. I don't know how the original pedal sounds like, but my reissue is noisy at high settings (Level ater 2 'o clock). If you calibrate the settings you can get your sound with the amount of compression you wnat and without noise.

Reliability : 9
Like others MXR pedals, this is made by die cast aluminium case with a Carling stomp switch what bring to it reliability for many years.

I know that Digitech bought DOD Corporation and this expanded the support possibilities. In Brazil (where i live) there is a some well known Digitech dealers but I don't know any of DOD. Anyway I think this is electronically simple and any technician can fix it at local stores.

Overall Rating : 8
A good pedal, looking vintage, with a nice sound and performance. If I lose this pedal or get stolen I'll sincerly buy another. I'm not saying I don't like this one, but I was discouraged to sell this compressor to buy another and lose money. It means if I never lose it or get stolen I'll keep it for a long time.

Very easy to use, two knobs- comp & level...in/out, no adapter jack...mine is the old Grey w/ Orange writing on it...no manual, not that you'd need one, anyway!

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using this with a MESA Maverick Class A, an amp that already sounds good, but i wanted to get a little bit more for leads and to tighten up the focus on chords and such...doesn't seem to be any noisier than what you'd expect fron a COMPRESSOR...just evens things out a bit....! I've had the Dyna-Comp (78'model) it was cool too...but this is just as good IMO, i use to DISS DoD pedals (i still think the newer stuff ie; Mid 80's and newer...BLOWS) were not that good...but after getting into building my own effects and checking into schematics i found the old DOD stuff to be alot like the EARLY MXR stuff in design (ie; micro(mxr)chorus, is just about the same as the mini(DOD)chorus--Dist(MXR)+plus, about the same as the 250(DOD)preamp/overdrive...you get the idea). Why pay a whole lot more for JUST the name......!

Reliability : 9
Seems to be very reliable....i have not had any probs thus far...don't expect to!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, but then again this pedal is 20+ years old...do they remember making these?

Overall Rating : 10
i play a little of everything, this pedal suits my style fine. I like the way it tightens my sound up with-out wrecking my tone. Would probably by it again if i could find one for a good price.

Ease of Use : 10
pretty simple -- two big, unmistakeable, clearly marked knobs and a foot switch to turn the pedal on and off.. no led or diode to indicate progress.. male-accepting power source threw me for a loop -- had to splice and dice some old headphones and adapters together.. mxr-like box design makes this heavy-duty, however.. turn it on, turn it off.. twiddle a knob.. not hard..

Sound Quality : 6
ive had problems with sound coming in and out and sometimes even dropping out momentarily.. not sure how common this is.. very nice compressor, though.. not much noise on the colume gain feature and the compression thins out the sound nicely..

Reliability : 4
once again, ive had issues.. this thing is used, though.. so.. i dont know whats going on.. i gigged with it for a while, but dropped it off of the rack after those problems started happening..

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea

Overall Rating : 8
this thing really is a graet compressor.. add it to your pedal line up for the great, trebely, compressed tone sound.. overall, i love it, but it has issues due to age.. aggressive, but nearing retirement..

This is a great little two knob job. Only a one knob phaser is easier.
IT came manual free but it did have an A/C connection, which not all of them do. My only beef is that it has no light to let you know it's on, an dif you use it subtly, you might need to know. 8 because of the lack of LED, and the MXR type box and battery replacement

Sound Quality : 9
This box has a nice natural compression, which while it does get a bit noisy when on high compression, still remains musical and not white noise. Someone below noted that this comp helps modulated effects sound better. I know it's wierd, but it really does, and because of this, you can dial in Andy Summers easily is you want to.

Reliability : 8
Only has it for about six months, but seems solid as it in an MXR type box.

Customer Support : No Opinion
NEver dealt with them. I imagine that no one there would remember these.

Overall Rating : 9
This thing would even do country if you were so inclined. An good quality compressor that you can pick up for $40 in US funds.
A good deal for a good sound. I would trade it for an original Dynacomp or Ross, but I'm happy with this little orange box

There are two knobs, simple

Sound Quality : 8
Yes this pedal is a little noisy, but you get incredible punch from it. I use this pedal after a modded ts9(tubescreamer) and a reverend drivetrain. I have tried all kinds of other compressors, from Boss, rack mounted types, etc. It gives you that up front, in your face response that a compressor should. If your looking for that Ross type of compression give this pedal a shot, you just have to know how to use it. Again, the only downfall is that it is a little noisy, but what compressor isn't following two overdrive pedals.

Reliability : 10
This pedal is made out of metal, very strong. And make sure you use an adaptor instead of a battery. It drains them too fast.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A

Overall Rating : 9
This pedal energizes your tone. I play raw funk and jazz and it gives me that articulate note definition that is needed for these types of music. Don't bother messing around with one of these if you like tons of distortion. It is good for expressing the subtle nuances of your playing and if you can find one of these they are really cheap too.

Well, considering that it only has two knobs on it,
one for comp and the other for level it is very
easy to use.

Sound Quality : 1
I do not like this pedal at all. The sound quality ranges from
poor to piss-poor. I cannot find a happy medium from
this pedal at all. I feel that the Boss comp pedal
is far superior to this one.

Reliability : 4
I tried to use it at gigs but I was so severly disappointed that I no longer even pack with my stuff. AS far as it ever
breaking down on me or having any mechanical problems
with it I would have to say it has been a very reliable
piece of @#$% sounding pedal.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with DOD.

I want to sell this now!!!

Very Easy just two controls nothing more.

Sound Quality : 8
I uaes to use this with my epiphone les paul and marshall vs100r with a boss delay and a vox wah-wah. The sound was like a raising the tone on the amp or guitar. It also hold the distortion together very well. Now I use it on a bass(funny I know) to reduce the fret buzz it gives sometimes. It also raises the bass's tone when activated. Sadly this is no good for the style of music for the band I'm in, so it stays on all the time.(Jurassic Park!)

Reliability : 6
I have found this thing canes a battery quite quickly, so it would have to be a fresh battery.

I bought this second hand four years ago so I wouldn't stand a chance claiming anything. It is very well put together though.

Overall Rating : 8
I play various stuff on guitar and bass for five years. With the bass it's covers stuff from Elvis to the Corrs. If the comp was nicked, I would get another but not straight away. I like the compression level, its very strong and can be controlled with ease. When I use it on the guitar, it is very insparational. I have created a lot of my own materail using it. This pedal hits the mark for subtle changes in tone, but I have done a great deal of stuff without it.

No need for a manual with this one. Just two knobs, Compression and Level. Comp.: the amount of sustain, Level: the overall output level. And nice big knobs which can be adjusted with your feet while your playing, very handy.

Sound Quality : 9
I run the 280 Comp. in front of the amp, with a Digitech RP-7 and a Boss Ge-7 through the effects loop. My main rig is a Epiphone Les Paul (I'm true to the Gallaghers), and a JCM 800 Lead head, JCM 900 4x12 300 watt cab. I wish I had the vintage speakers though. My style is Pink Floyd, Radiohead, U2 sounds. The 280 Comp. is great for playing Floyd type leads with heavy sustain. I found that this pedal can also be used as a slight OD pedal on the clean side with the level at about 2 O'clock and the Comp at high noon. I use it mostly for beefing up my leads at OD levels, with the Comp at about 3 O'clock and the level at 1 O'clock. For some reason this pedal sounds better when run through an adapter, I first used it with batteries and I got an awful crackling sound when I switched the pedal on, but when used with a plug I get silent switching. Overall this pedal had helped diversify my sound on both the clean and lead sides.

Reliability : 9
Sturdy construction, feels solid to me. No need for a backup when gigging. (Cross fingers)

Who knows??

Overall Rating : 9
Overall this pedal is a winner. I would like to try the ORIGINAL Dyna Comp because thats what Edge and Gilmour use, plus I heard that the re-issue Dyna Comp eats it, but this is good enough for me. I've been playing for about 3 years now and am currently playing in a Floyd/Head/U2 influenced band, and this is the first Comp I've owned, the only way I would switch would be if I could find the Original Dyna Comp, but then I would probably use both of them, one for clean and one for lead. If it were stolen I would hunt the bastard down and beat him over the head with it, since it is very sturdy.
