Ease of Use : 8
This pedal is the stereo chorus pedal from the old, vintage performer series. It has the old DOD width, speed and delay time parameters (knobs or trimpots). Width and speed speak for themselves, I might assume, this delay feature is something else. Since chorus in itself is based on a mixture of both your input signal and a (or several) delayed copy(ies) of it, this parameter determines the range of this (these) copy(ies). The later FX 65 and 68 f.e. have this parameter too. If this is your first chorus pedal, keep it, and learn how to use this parameter combined with the other two (obvious) ones. I'm giving it an 8, because I'm not sure that anybody who uses this for "normal" music (blues, jazz, rock, hard rock, metal, etc.) will ever need to use the full extend of this pedal. I'm not reviewing myself here, I'm trying to get a decent representation of what this pedal can do.

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal has the same sound colour as his fellow brothers and sisters, the first DOD American Chorus pedals. As one other reviewer said concerning a later DOD stereo chorus FX 68 here on this website, it's a question of tweaking and combining the delay time parameter together with the two other parameters (if you are a chorus lover, you don't need the "level" parameter on the FX 68 - it only allows you to decrease your chorus effect). I've read some reviews on ebay about this pedal, stating that, at it's extreme settings, it can deliver Flange and even Phase - like sounds. I'm not sure about that (unless you think that a Flanger and a Phaser should only give you chorus-like sounds). It is capable of providing leslie and rotary sounds, but it all depends on how you tweak this unit (how you combine the three parameters).

Reliability : 9
Built like Captain Kirk's Enterprise. Very reliable. It has the typical plastic footswitch, but it still works after more than 20 years.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with DOD, perhaps because I'm quite allergic to their recent chorus pedals ("Ice box" f.e., this really sounds crispy, thin, subtle and cold, I have no need for this!!!)

Overall Rating : 10
This pedal sounds great. Not for every style of electric guitar music, but it really adds a "mother" to a long forgotten "Atrocities" album. And a "Catastrophe Ballet" and "Ashes" (kind of, hah, hah) chorus sound as well. Rozz Williams, I still love you! The stereo output sounds really nice! Especially when played with a semi-acoustic guitar, like my old Aria pro - 2. I normally play, when using my Marshall for overdriven sounds, with my Gibson Nighthawk, a very warm and good guitar! A Stratocaster does a good thing too, but sounds too brilliant (too much emphasize upon the high notes/frequencies). Remember Rikk Agnew? No? That's a pity :). He played with a Gibson through a Marshall Amp! During the good old Christian Death days - come on, my American friends, you ought to know this band!
Back to this pedal: she does what she is supposed to do! Every wide range thanks to the delay parameter (if used in consideration with the other width and speed contols).
