I agree with most in that you would have to be a monkey with severe brain damage to not be able to figure this thing out. I bought it used, without a manual, and it all pretty much made sense.

Sound Quality : 2
Looking around at other reveiws, I am relieved to see that I am not crazy, and not the only one to hear the radio through my bass rig (and the shittiest station in town at that). Now I won't feel so bad when I rip the thing apart and start messing with the circuits. Maybe I'll find a cure, hell, it could be something as simple as adding a small capacitor in the input or output (if anyone has tried this, drop me a note and let me know what happened). As for the sounds that the unit is actually supposed to produce, they're not the best of effects, but they're down and dirty, simple, old-school, crappy effects. Make sure you only play with this thing in a really loud bar, with a really loud band, and maybe the combined noise of the crowd and the other instruments will cover the noise coming from this box. Just make sure you shut off your amp right when the song is done, or you may get your last "satan stomping babies" track encored with fuckin' Phil Collins.

Reliability : 10
yes. unfourtunatly it's rather rugged. It handles stomping, kicking, throwing, and beer like a good pedal. That's really the best thing I can say about it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never contacted DOD

Overall Rating : 3
I play every style, so I get most effects some good use.

Ease of Use : 8
The Bass Tec is relatively easy to use, the four pedal system makes a lot of sense to me. and it makes it easy when playing on stage.
It has a pretty straight forward interface and intstuction manual.

Sound Quality : 8
Most of the factory settings arent the best, but if i mess with the settings myself and create some custom presets, i can make it sound how i want. I think some of the settings are just plain cheesy though. but theyre fun to mess around with. others are more functional and I use them often... like chorus and compression.

Reliability : 10
This unit has been reliable and I've owned it for a few years now. I feel comfortable playing out with out a back up, and i think that says something.

Customer Support : 9
I had to send the power supply back right at the beggining because it was shorting out during practice... they where very cordial and I sent them the adaptor, they repaired it, and sent it back. that simple.

Overall Rating : 9
I think over all this is a good pedal for me because I'm into adapting my sound to be slightly different then the next guy. It's also got a convinient interface which lets me move around on it easily. over all i think its a solid pedal, i mean it's dod, what else can you expect.

Ease of Use : 8
Easy to use. I do occasionally hit the wrong pedal because they're a little close together for my clumsy feet. Don't have the "wah" pedal that gives additional control.

Sound Quality : 8
Using a 5-string Ibanez SR305DX with a Dean Markley K-300B amp. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as I never get radio stations coming in or any of that. I've also never had it popping or cracking on me. I do agree the low end distortion is a bit weak but most other effects have been fine. The flanging could be a little bit better but I like mine fairly lite so it works.

Reliability : 9
I find it pretty reliable. I've used it for several years now and it's always worked and always given me the same sounds I've expected from it.

Customer Support : 6
Have never dealt with the company or had it repaired so I'll give a moderate rating.

Overall Rating : 9
Generally a good buy, in my opinion. Not what I'd want if I was planning on being a big star but it gives decent sound, easy use, and is dependable. I would prefer it had a power switch rather than being dependant on a power strip to turn it on and off.

This thing isn't really that hard to use, if your kind of used to using effects pedals. But some things about it are tricky. You have to take it easy if your using a bass with active electronics, because if you have too much output from the pedal, and you slap, it will make the pedal clip and it sounds like a fart coming through your speakers.

Sound Quality : 1
I'm using an Ibanez BTB 1005 fretless, and a BTB 510. I'm using an SWR 500 (NOT a workingman series)head, through a BBE sonic maximizer, and a kustom 250 watt power amp, through two carvin 18's and four carvin 10's. Sometimes I use two madison 4 10 cabs. This thing can be noisy, the only effect that is usable is the chorus..but you can't use too much or it sounds crappy. Try not to use the eq on this thing either, you can never get it to sound solid. Every other effect sucks. I just use them to goof around. This thing is BY far the crappiest piece of equipment in my setup.

Reliability : 8
I have unfortunatly had to use this thing on gigs lately, because I broke my old pedal. I've beat the crap out of this thing and it always comes back just as crappy as before. It's strong though, I've stomped on it as hard as possible and it's fine.

Customer Support : 5
DOD is stupid, I wouldn't call them anyway cuz the make shitty equipment

Overall Rating : 1
I play heavy rock, metal, or something like that. i've been playing for 3 to 4 years, and I've owned a couple of boss pedals, and I've had this thing lying around forever, and I finally have to use it. I am trying to buy something else, but I don't know what I want yet. I wish it was invisible, so other bass players wouldn't see me using it.

It is easy to use the manual explains it all. The processor has a built in tuner, but it does not respond to the low B on a five string very well. It is completely programmable and you can reset it back to factory presets.

Sound Quality : 1
This thing is noisy. It has a high frequency noise that is extremely annoying. The only way you can get the noise out is to turn the highest frequency slider on the graphic eq to the negative position to filter the high frequency noise out. I only use it when I am goofing off, I would never play through this terd in front of anybody. It sound pittyful.

Reliability : No Opinion
I don't use it enough to have problems with it.

Customer Support : 10
I called them with a question about it and they were helpful.

Overall Rating : 1
The Basstec sound like crap. So it is useless to me.

Ease of Use : 6
This dod in my opinion is a waste of time and money, although the settings and and friendliness of this unit are easy to use, the effects are lacking quality and versatility.

Sound Quality : 1
At the moment i am running this with a chunk fuzz, boss noise suppresor but in the stages of purchasing a dunlop 105Q.This is played through a fender jp-90 into a lab systems ss600 with sovtek 410.The noises which come through the amp are at a minimum level but after the first uses and realising this was a waste of money it went straight into the cupboard. The effects which you are meant to be able to programme to your own settings are just shit. The only effects on this which i have found half usable are the ring modulater and the tremelo, still a pretty shitty sound.

Reliability : 6
No need to depend on using this pedal its not longer in use.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 1
This effect is mainly used in conjunction more with an alternative style of music, this does not work with this at all therefore i advise you not to purchase one of these extremely pathetic excuses for a multiple effects processor.
p.s even the built in tuner is shit.

Easy to use, but strictly for beginners learning about effects...
sorry, i take that back, even beginners don't deserve this crap.
I just edited the s''t out of the effects and made some even DODgier effects that the factory ones... get it DOD-gy... i m so funny.
manual is ok, but unless u r a total moron u should figure this thing out without it.

Sound Quality : 1
very very very very DODgy. (there it is again). like that other dude said it picks up the radio and pops... which i m sure is bad for the speaker.effects are weak as. using it with a hughes and kettner bassforce xl, and i stopped using it with it coz it might wreck my sub. can;t get any pro sounds out of it at all, not even worth trying.

Reliability : 1
cannot depend on it.... simply.
the power supply input jack spewed within two months of buying it.
bad news indeed.
wouldnt embarass myself by taking it to a gig... not even for the tuner.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never wasted my time.

Overall Rating : 1
i play punk/funk/soft rock. bad match. been playing two years, play a fender jazz bass through a h and k with a boss bass eq (buy this, u fool). i m going to try and trade it in for a digitech bp200 this week, but i dont like my chances of the retailer taking this hunk of junk so i ll probably just play soccer with it or throw it in the harbour, maybe even attach it to a tow bar for a couple of days.i chose this one coz i was just beginning with effects when i bought it, and it was cheap. wasnt even worth 99 bucks, seriously DODgy stuff. do not waste your time.

This pedal is pretty easy to use. Pretty stait forward, not two comlicated if you have used effects pedals before

Sound Quality : 2
The sound is Horrible, yes, i mean horrible. I have all these crappy noises coming out of my amp. It picks up radio signal and makes these poping noises and hissing. GODDAMN i can't stand it. Yes, it mattrs what amp i use with it, but a peavey minx 110 sux. The effects are ok but the interfence and hissing are HORRID!!!

Reliability : 1
First of all, I would never use it at a gig with all those frekin crap noises coming out of it. So i can pretty much say it is the most unreliable thing I own

Customer Support : 3
Yes, I contacted them once. They gave me bullshit about how i had to buy a Power condtioner that cost almost as much as the damn unit itself. They said that would get rid of the noise, but i am broke as it is. I said screw that

Overall Rating : 2
Well, All i can say is that the effects work and yes, there are plenty of good sounding effects in this pedal, it is just the noise and crap that i hate. Sometimes if i plug it in upside down the noise goes away, but i had to give this pedal a scathing review because it has givin me lot o crappy noise

This unit is very easy to figure out. It is fairly compact and you can pass through channels quickly.

Sound Quality : 6
I'm using a Samick 5-string with a Hartke 1415 amplifier. Sometimes I get an annoying popping sound from it, other times I don't. The distortions are weak, the chorus is decent, and most of the other effects aren't anything to get excited over. The effects don't seem to carry enough low end.

Reliability : 4
I don't trust this unit mainly because when I first bought it I brought it home and the next day it broke down. I tend not to use it live because of this reason and for the fact that I don't have a spare adaptor.

Customer Support : 3
When I sent the unit back to the manufactorer, it took almost three months before I received it fully repaired. Customor support is hard to get through to, and they don't offer a whole lot of help.

Overall Rating : 5
I love to play alternative/metal and this product has let me down too many times. It has some good features, but I wouldn't ever buy it again. It's not the worst sounding unit in the world, but for the price, I think I could have bought something better.

It's pretty easy to use, i wish it came with a manual though. I had to e-mail DOD to figure how to do some stuff.

Sounds pretty cool. I have a Fender Presicion Bass and a Crate 15 watt (stop laughing!). Some effects suck, some are really cool. I need to find some cool patches, so if you got any wmail me at bassline_1414@yahoo.com .

Reliability : 9
It's a pretty sturdy pedal

They were friendly, i wish they would have been more specific though.

I like this pedal, its got more ups than downs.
