A Graphic EQ with a footswitch... Can't get any simpler. Has mini phone plug input for external power adaptor, but I've never used it.

This thing is my secret weapon. I've been asked many times about how I find my tone. I use this thing as my overdrive pedal for my solos. Not only does it boost the signal, you get to choose the tone it will be when you go there. Serious benefit to my Stratocaster/Twin Reverb setup. I can score that glorious "Les Paul Jr" wail by backing off on the tone pot (Strat's rewired so bridge pickup has a tone pot) and kicking the EQ in with the mids maxed. the only reason I didn't give a 10 for the numerical rating in this category is because the pedal can be a bit hissy -but since the only time I kick this thing in is for solos, the noise goes unnoticed.

I've owned this thing since about 1980 and it still kills.

I'd have to replace it if something happened to it. I'm afraid I'd have trouble finding this exact model, but since this pedal is an older one, perhaps a newer Graphic EQ/footswitch would be more refined and less noisy. Really, the main thing I like about this pedal is the way you still sound like straight guitar through amplifier rather than the "fuzzbox kid" when you kick it in. Your signature tone is still there... just beefed up in the right spots.
