eh, i just bought this a couple of hours ago.......i had one a couple of years ago, but i sold it cuz it sucked........still does, but it's different from the two other phasers i have, so it's cool, plus i bought it cheap.....$40.....

this is the old style version, with the grey metal casing, not the maroon......they sound exactly the same.......i'd rely on it for a gig, but like i said, i have two other phasers (mxr phase 90, and a boss) so i won't worry about a backup....

i've been jammin for 4 years with a band (acutally we just broke up) and am starting another band.....i play a lot of melody based riffs with a lot of effects (think incubus)......and this phaser is diverse enough to be put on my board.....i run this pedal with a crybaby wah, DOD enevelope filter, digitech whammy reissue, DOD Gonkulator Modulator, BOSS DD-5 delay, BOSS BF-2 flanger, BOSS PH-3 phaser, MXR phase 90, DOD Vibro-thang, DOD Ice box chorus, and soon, a BOSS PS-3 (pitch/delay) or DOD Digital delay/sampler.......my board runs thru my marshall valvestate 100w head and mesa boogie 280w recto cab.....i play on charvel and ibanez guitars......i know 12 pedals is a lot to fuck up your signal, but everything sounds kosher to me, so blah..........also, no noise emits from this pedal.......a plus in a setup like mine!

It sounds horrible, it has a "fake" sound to it, it's hard to explain. If you are thinking about getting this pedal two words, Small Stone :)

It is pitiful, but if you are a guitar player who has been playing for a little this is a good cheap (POS) for you.

I use it for my Bass and it sounds pretty good, for something DOD made. I run a 5-String Ibanez SG805 through it and into a Cheap Kustom KB20 bass amp and it still sounds good.

Like a lot of DOD pedals, three controls. This one has depth, speed, and regeneration. Well, it shouldn't be too hard to use, but one thing I think this box is conspicuously lacking is some kind of center phase-angle control, because as it is it's impossible to control how bright your phasing sound is. Read on...

MUD. I was looking for a phaser that could produce a wide, shimmery phase, and boy was this one a mile off the target. Very muddy unless you crank the depth up past where it's usable, and then the shimmery freqs last an inordinately short time. Regen doesn't help much, either. The LFO used in this circuit sounds kinda funny, like a triangle wave more than a sine, so the modulation rate is funky.

I presume the thing could survive a rampaging pack of elephants like all DOD products, but having only plugged it in a few times, so disgusted am I with it, I haven't put it to the test. I'm pretty sure I can rely on it to be one *durable* crappy-ass product :-)

I compared it at the shop with a Boss flanger and ended up going with this one primarily based on price, and because the Boss had some faintly eclectic controls. Bad mistake. More and more I'me disgusted with the schlock DOD puts out, and would probably go with the Boss unit or something else next time. DOD's attempt at a flanger is pure flatulence for my money.

i got a great sound i'm really happy. i use an ibanez rg450, godin g1000, and some really cheap gutiar that i turned into a 4string all through a peavey special 212, goin through the front. you can mimick the sound that Wes Borland uses on no sex, like that!

this thing is reliable, i may be contradicting everyone else, but hey, i've gigged about 100 times with this, and hell, it even dropped 6 feet from the top of my locker to a hard floor, and the only thing that happened was the battery cover fell off. it's reliable

i play mainly industrial/hardcore type stuff, but i still jam with my metallica cd's and i play lead guitar for a blues band so i've got everything covered.. since i can't afford a wah, yet, i use the phase for blues solos setting it to pulsate, it's cool. i've played around with some effects processors, and i'm probably gonna buy the Boss GT-3 whence i rob a bank. I actually got this for my b-day, and it was a walk in to the store and get anything type of deal, so i didn't compare it. plus when i got it, i sucked so i didn't wanna make an ass out of myself, with 50 people around me. i would say it definately helps my music, cuz sometimes i get lazy, and just let the feedback and the phase do all the work..
and i'd like to share this:

Put every nob at 12:00 and play. To get the right sound takes a bit of playing around.... but only 3 knobs (labelled in English - unlike other DOD pedals) so not too much work

Well in short AMAZING. This is my favourite phaser. I've tried a bunch the Phase 90, the Phase 100, the Small Stone.... this can cover all the tonal spectrum of all these phaser and is (in my opinion) much more versatile then any of them. Very lush and sweet phasing!

I am sorry. th elast reveiwer said that is things was good to play sonic youth with...WRONG! This is one of the worst phasers I have ever heard. This and the BOSS Super Phaser are the most candy-assed phasers ypou can buy! The sound is thin, digital sounding, and bad in my opinion.

I tried out this pedal again because of the last reveiwers Sonic Youth statement. This pedal is just plain bad. If your into sonic Youth, get there stuff or something cloase to it. Lee uses a Maesto phaser (or was in Mutron), Kim uses a tc electronics chorus/flanger.pitch shifter, and Thurston uses an MXR phase 90 9I beleive). I have a Small Stone, and that thing sounds like a phaser 90 when the color switch is off. A Ross phaser is another better pedal! My first phaser (a Soundtank) was better!!!!!! This pedal is only good for reliablity, not for its phasing

Very simple to use - plug it in, set everything to 12 o'clock switch it on and adjust to taste. only has three knobs - speed, depth and regeneration. With speed and depth all the way up and regen all the way you get a neat vibrato, turn the regen up and some unusual sounds start to occur.

I'm running a Fender Tele (Japanese) into a Boss CS3 compressor then the phaser then a Boss MT2 Metalzone, into a Fender blues de-Ville with a Boss DD3 in the effects loop. It's not hugely noisy like this though with the distortion pedal on you get a bit of a whooosh, but then it's a phaser isn't it? The effect is stronger when placed after the distortion but in my opinion it is too strong like that, I like to have it before the distrotion, this gives my solos an angular quality. Sounds great when clean, if used subtly can make a tele sound a bit like a strat in the 2 or 4 position. It boosts the volume just a tad and can be a useful addition to your lead sound, to cut through the band a bit more. I haven't used it's stereo feature as yet.

This is a neat pedal, I like to play some funky grooves and the phaser just adds to my sound. I like to use it subtly to spice up my lead sound. I would buy it again if it was lost or stolen. I would probably use it less if I could come to grips with using a wah wah pedal, but I'm not so impressed with the sound from my wah.
