There's three knobs. You turn them and it changes the sound. It took me awhile but i got there. Very easy, a fuzz loving child could use one.

Sound Quality : 8
If you're a fan of the so called "stoner" scene this is fun for all the family. Turn the tone down way low and the max the fuzz and you're burning diesel. Epic, bass heavy sound. Turn the tone past halfway and ease the fuzz a little and it has that hendrix vibe. Lovely. If you have have an amp less than 30w the bass might be too much, it's a powerful pedal, but hey that's not Danelectro's fault.

Reliability : 10
it's made of metal so do your worst big boy.

we don't speak and that suits me fine.

Cost me twice as much than in Americaland but that's what i get for living in rip off Ireland (a ds-1 costs $70!) I use it with a LAG RM 200 and a cheap ass 120 watt amp and it sounds tasty. It can be used for a dark grunge sound to stoner riffage, tune to B and it delivers a monster doom metal smack in the face. The older guys can cover crossroads with it at their retirement party (ha ha).In short i love this with the tone setting low with a touch of drive.

3 knobs, ez

Sound Quality : 6
I haven't found a real use for this, yet. Huge bass and lots of treble, no mids. Small fuzz to wall of insanity. Huge volume boost. My Russian Big Muff, notorious for getting lost in the mix, cuts through better. I think I'll keep it around for NIN type noise, but doubt it will ever find a permanent place on the pedalboard.

Reliability : No Opinion
Too new to tell, couple of months, seems solid.

dunno

Overall Rating : 6
Big sound, but not doing it for me. Very muff-like tonal range, with more volume boost and less mids. Great noise maker, just not my thing.

Takes some time to get a good sound out of it. and good is subjective here; the pedal is very versatile; I was able to happily mimic Zeppelin fuzz tones, Black Sabbath fuzz tones, Hendrix fuzz tones, The Faces rhythm guitar tone, I can't get no satisfaction. The challenge is that it's hard to balance the volume with the clean signal (If you want to switch between samlessly) It will take some noodling; if fuzz or volume gets too low it loses some of it's dynamics. The sturdy knobs come in handy they'll pretty much be set and forget. Would be a nine if balancing volume didn't take some serious sit down time.

Sound Quality : 10
with single coil pickups; No added noise whatsoever. Can easily just boost your signal and jump in front of the mix. Mates well with wah for fuzz-wah. Flanger sounds better before than after the fuzz in my opinion, Tremolo is tremolo, haven't tried chorus or phasing yet. Very dynamic Fuzz; can roll the volume knob back for a very juicy clean tone. Tone knob really has a profound effect on the fuzz for just being a high end roll off. Very versatile little fuzz. between an amp's 3 band eq and the cool cat is a wide open range of tones.

Very dynamic, fluid sounding. cleans up even if you just pick lighter.

On certain settings the decay will make a 'sizzle' as the fuzz burns off the note, interesting and rather unique; If you don't like it; play with the tone knobs.

Daneletro states "amazing note separation and clarity" I say "AMAZING note separation and clarity" Chords are chords with this thing and arpeggios ring as they should.

Switching has no nuances; just fuzz on/off. you can hear a physical click when you put your foot down, doe not come through the amplifier.

Reliability : 9
Seems like it would hurt something else before it gets hurt. the Switch seems skeptical, it hasn't had any issues in the months I've used it, just wobbles a little from how wide the switch is.

Customer Support : No Opinion
n/a haven't had any issues

Overall Rating : 10
with the price tag the cool cat comes with it doesn't matter that you have to work with it to find tones equal to the clean signal;

You want some Pink Floyd cleaned up fuzz it's there, you want some satisfaction it's there, heavy yes, light yes.

If it were stolen I'd absolutely by a new one.

This takes a lot of getting used to to master. The volume gets real loud and the mix or amount of fuzz varies based on your tone control.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a strat and a tube amp, it does get noisy when cranked (but waht fuzz does'nt). The tone is great with an overdrive and sounds classic with a crybaby wah.

Reliability : 10
This is built with a metal body and switch and feels solid.

This delivers a great sound for the blues and classic rock, even some modern stuff, I've been playing for over 35+ years and have owned all kinds of stuff. What I like about this product is the sound for price ratio. It sounds as good if not better than the stuff costing 4X as much. I just wish it was easier to tune up.

3 knobs, easy enough

Sound Quality : 7
The problem is that you can't have the fuzz knob up too high or the volume is through the roof. If you lower the volume to compensate, it gets too muddy and you lose the responsiveness. Maybe it's just me. I don't like to use fuzz as a boost. I play thru an overdriven tube amp and I don't really need to push it any more, I just want to add some fuzz and you really can't do that with this. I suppose it would be nice with solid state or with a tube amp turned down to 1 or 2. I will say that it didn't color the tone, so it gets good marks for that.

Reliability : 10
Build well. The only problem with other Danos is the plastic parts, otherwise, they all seem pretty well-built to me.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
Nice cheap fuzz and depending on what you're looking for it to do, you can't beat the value. It temporarily replaced a "boutique" fuzz (until I buy a fuzz face). If it does better than the fuzz face, then it's staying put.

It's pretty simple. Click pedal switch, 3 knobs (fuzz, tone, volume). Battery compartment is easy to get to. The LED light is very bright.

Sound Quality : 10
Most tone snobs will say that fuzz pedals sound better through tube amps. While they might be right, I run this through a solid-state 100W Marshall combo and it sounds just fine. Now, alone into the clean channel, this pedal sounds pretty good. But they way to use it is like people like Hendrix would use these bad-boys and use them on a slightly overdriven amp. So I switch to my dirty channel, and turn the gain up so it is just BARELY distorting, and then kick this pedal on with the fuzz cranked up (the tone usually at 12 o'clock or maxxed) and WOW! This pedal screams. Then you just use your volume on your guitar to control it, and you get a sweet sound. I mainly play guitars with humbuckers (Epiphone Les Paul Standard and Epiphone Dot Studio), and it gets a little muddy, but you have got to tweak it.

Now I play in a punk band influenced by bands like Black Flag and the Germs, and this pedal works perfectly for that. And when I'm at home, I like to jam along to some Hendrix, Cream, or Led Zeppelin, and again this pedal does great.

Reliability : No Opinion
It's a solid little pedal for the price. I don't doubt the Danelectro company's quality and reliability.

Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 10
As I said before, I play in a punk band influenced by bands like Black Flag and The Germs. This pedal works so well for that style of music. And when I'm home, it's classic rock. And again, the pedal doesn't fail me.

I've been looking for a fuzz pedal for some time. I've used several stomp box distortions before, such as the Boss DS-1 and DS-2, and the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi (Russian) and the latter was the closest to a fuzz I have gotten.

If someone asked me to suggest some stomp boxes, I'd definatly suggest this pedal. I'm hooked on it.
