I bought mine used yesterday, at Daddy's Junky Music in Warwick,R.I.so mine didn't come with a manual. It has 3 knobs for Regen,Speed, and Depth.

Sound Quality : 10
At first I had a hard time getting a decent tone out of it,but that was only because the distortion on my amp,was way over the top,and plus I play a strat ,so the single coil pups probably didn't help much either.Once I re-adjusted the settings on my amp.I could not believe how great this pedal sounds. My amp is a Crate GX-65 which isn't really pedal friendly, but as I mentioned, once I re-set everything,it sounded great. This pedal works really well with my clean channel to produce a almost hypnotic shimmering tone, while the distortion gives it a cross between a Wah and a Chorus tone, which I really like, plus it makes the pups on my guitar ring out more.

Reliability : 8
This pedal looks like it was well taken care of,and in the past,I've used a Danelectro Fab Chorus at shows with no problems at all,so I don't think I'll have any issues with this pedal at all.I know these are made out of plastic, but as long as you don't stomp on them wildly, then they should last you a long time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with their customer support.

Overall Rating : 8
I play classic rock and 80's hair metal,so this is a welcome addition to my set up.I've been playing for 35 years and I have never been a big effects player,so something like this, and maybe down the line,a EQ,would be all I need.I believe in the old adage that less is more.My rig consists of a 2006 Fender MIM Sunburst standard strat,a 1997 USA made,Crate GX-65,and this pedal. In the past 3 months due to being out of work,I've had to get rid of a Squier Tele custom,Digitech RP-50,and a Epiphone Les Paul Jr. along with a Peavey Studio Pro 112.Most of this stuff I wasn't using anyway,so selling them wasn't that big a deal.If anything happened to me pedal,I would definately buy another one.Hell, for $15.00, the Danelectro Fab line, are a great deal.

3 knobs - Regen(eration), Speed and Depth. The manual tells you what they all do, and you can get started straight away. Plug in and flange out. If you know flangers you'll be in familiar territory. Very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 8
This Fab Flange pedal sounds great and it's different enough from the Fab Chorus to make getting both worthwhile. (I play through a decent Tele copy with vintage GFS single coils into a Peavey Studio Pro 112) With a dirty guitar tone and the pedal's regen knob on 1/2, the speed just under 1/2, and the depth on 3/4 it gives you a metallic whirr that is similiar to Eddie Van Halen's early sounds with MXR Phase 90s and MXR Flangers. I like this a lot. You can also get some 70s phaser-type sounds for cleaner funky chords, ala Tommy Bolin. I have four of these Fab pedals and though they're not true bypass, they don't really suck much tone. I run a Fab Chorus, this Flange and the Fab Echo through my effects loop, and a Fab Overdrive into my amp's front end, and, to be honest, noise is minimal and the guitar tone keeps its integrity well. If you dime all the knobs then it's sci-fi soundscape time. Great for abstract sound sculpting and bizarre feedbak tones. It does give you a bit of a volume boost when engaged; but this doesnt worry me too much, as it gives the passage you're playing a little more accent. Great sound for the money.

Reliability : No Opinion
Plastic top, solid metal bottom, pots and jacks soldered to the board. Doesn't sound good but it feels solid and weighty to me. Don't get drunk and stomp too hard and I'm sure it will last.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Cheap, just buy another.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since '89 and play blues, some harder rock, some folk-rock and some jazz-type stuff and this slots well into my pedal board. I wouldn't play with it on all day but it goes from subtler to more extreme sounds pretty easily and coats your sound nicely. It doesn't really woosh like the more expensive Boss Flangers - it's more of a metallic whirr sound - but it doesn't sound bad at all and it's pretty musical. It kind of propels your playing when you have it engaged and sends you places you may not have gone if you were not playing through it. In other words, it give you a little inspiration. For the price it cannot be beat. I'd gig with any Fab pedal, no worries at all. They're great value and great sounding. If you're a working class musician who likes flange and phase sounds, and want to stick to a budget (like me) you should look into this.

3 knobs, easy enough. I agree with some that because of the way the knobs are set its easy to twist them the wrong direction.

other than that, 3 knobs....easy enough

Sound Quality : 8

it really depends on the amp - on my good tubes its a nice, very usable flange. much more than expected. through my quicky SS amps for practice (in a hurry and dont want to fire up the tubes) it sounds just OK.

I think this is a sweet flange, but Im not looking for EVH unchained FX, I wanted something for a chorus-like sound with a different vibe.

I went through alot of chorus pedals till I realized I really wanted/like flange. but like mentioned - not plane sounds, more of a modulation type effect to play when using clean tones, or to kick in for that outro!

its great clean or using light amp drive, great for that little wing outro type tones.

Reliability : No Opinion

not sure, Ive had my share of Dano pedals and even the little ones withstood normal abuse, as much as the bigger steel-housed pedals ive used.

but I cant comment on reliability yet. if its as sturdy as the little dano minis then Im good to go.

Customer Support : 10

Ive dealt with them 2 times in the 20 years Ive been playing and both times were very helpful and very speedy service.

Overall Rating : 8

I like it alot. I dont use FX all the time, Im more a guitar>boost>amp guy, but I use them occasionally.

this flange is very usable for what I want.

like I mentioned, it depends heavily on what amp its used with. I really like it "main sound" and I say that because theres not alot of versatility in the pedal- just normal to extremely fast, but they picked a nice "main sound" to give the pedal

Only has 3 knobs, but sometimes you'll forget which way to turn them to get more or less of a sound because they're on the side of the pedal.

Sound Quality : 8
The sound is a pretty subtle at almost any setting. Compare that to the BOSS flangers which can be so prominent that you can't hear what you're playing and it just sounds like a jet going overhead. I'm kind of disappointed that the knobs don't do a lot, it sounds almost exactly the same at any setting. Turning the speed up makes the infamous strange wobbly tone. Is great for solos and riffs with fuzz though, makes it sound thicker and sort of like a machine. I got it for sooo cheap though, I can't complain at all.

Reliability : 7
I've heard stories from some people that these things are very delicate. Please, do not stomp on them. Just tap them to turn them on and don't be rough with them. This is my second Damnelectro FAB pedal though and neither of them have broken on me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It's so cheap that if it breaks, just buy a new one. You won't need them.

Overall Rating : 9
I bought this for EIGHT DOLLARS. In comparison, I paid over twice as much for Double Nickels on The Dime by the Minutemen (that's worth it though). And that's a CD. And this is an effects pedal. That is RIDICULOUSLY cheap. Erik, the friendly salesman at Groth Music said he'd never seen anybody buy a pedal for so cheap. Consider that other flangers will cost way over 10 times that much used. I can't complain about it at all - the effect might be a little too subtle and not as tweakable as I'd like, but it sounds very good and full. I don't think anybody would be able to tell just by hearing it that it was so cheap. The FAB series is a great line of effects that are mindblowingly cheap but very good. I already have the Distortion (which is okay, sounds very flat and muffled but it's pretty responsive) and I have the Chorus ordered which I hear is great. I say get it if you're on a budget.

The instruction page is pretty much worthless, I learned what it was doing by looking up flanging on wikipedia. Once you know what the knobs do it is pretty easy to explore the range of the pedal.

Sound Quality : 8
For a $15 pedal this thing sounds great, but I'm not looking for a $15 sound. I used it once in a gig for a cover of Nirvana's "Pennyroyal Tea", played with a little subtle overdrive from the amp and nothing else and it sounded pretty good.

Reliability : 5
The casing is made of plastic and the switching mechanism is pretty fragile looking, wouldn't want to drop it too hard. The knobs feel like they are connected pretty weakly.

Overall Rating : 8
For what it is it is a great pedal and I would recommend it to someone who wants to try a flange pedal. I really only bought it because it was cheap and the closest to a phaser out of the Fab pedals GC had when I bought it. I just replaced it today with an Electro-Harmonix Small Stone. Overall though, a good pedal.

Putting the controls at the midpoint gives a basic, useable flange sound. The one page manual was useless -- it was for a different pedal! It is hard to tell which way to turn the controls to get more or less speed, depth, etc.

Sound Quality : 8
Pedal is quiet enough. The basic sound is better than I expected for a $15 pedal. Not much range of sound, until you get to the far extreme of the settings - and then things get unuseably wierd. I got this as a cheap, disposable pedal, to test out how much I'd use a flange. I play a wide variety of styles in a worship & praise band, and was looking for an alternative to a chorus for quiet arpeggio's, and something to add some zing to distorted leads. It does that nicely.

Reliability : 6
It is built very cheaply. I consider it disposable. I assume it will break, but you never know. I am very gentle on my equipment.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't deal with them yet.

Overall Rating : 10
How can you go wrong for $15? It is good enough to use live, I'm happy.

This pedal is easy to use. Three knobs control rate, depth and envelope/decay. A foldout manual comes with it but there are no suggested settings -- you dial in the sound you like. Once you find a sound I advise you make little marks on the back of the unit with a pen.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I'm using this with a Fender Jazz bass, flatwound strings, through a 50w 12" combo. I've heard no noise -- dead quiet. It's the first of two pedals in a chain, the other one is a chorus. The flange effect is subtle on the bass. I've dialed back the effect and it gives a little wetness to my sound, makes it fuller, less sterile through the solid state amp. When you turn up the dials the box gives interesting, wild but unusable effects for me. This is especially true of the regen knob. I've found a sound I can live with at Depth: 7 Speed 2 Regen 12. This thing won't sound like a 747 taking off with a bass, but it can produce more traditional flange effects than the one I'm using. Lastly, the thing doesn't suck tone; it doens't pull out my bottom end, even though I think this thing is meant for guitar. The bypass works well too.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know about dependabiltiy of this unit, but for $14.95 it doesn't need to be. If you come to depend on it, but two. I would use this on a gig without a backup. Danelectro has been around for a long time. This ain't a reentry booster.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havne't dealt with company, probably never will.

I play R&B and traditional Hawaiian music and this fits right in. This whole line of Fab pedals retails for $15. There's a distortion, chorus, metal pedal and something else, I forgot. I bought the chorus pedal as well but it wasn't as good as my Boss, so I'm returning it. If you want to get your feet wet in the pedal world and don't want one of those all-in-a-box pedals (I don't like 'em) this would be a good way to find a sound.

Very Easy. 3 knobs, just like most basic flangers out there. instructions included, which do actually explain how each control effects your tone.

Sound Quality : 8
using a practice setup; strat>crybaby>fab od>fab flange>eq>practice amp. only had it a few hours, had a play about. first impressions are good, for a pedal this cheap the controls are quite responsive. i wanted a chorus but as a flanger can do both chorus and flange i went this. the regen control is interesting, when turned up fully, it creates a similar sound to when you crank an analogue delay and get the overloaded repeat effect. will have to play aruond more before i can really give a proper opinion, but so far so good.

Reliability : 5
as i said before i only had a few hours. these things are made from plastic so i dont expect them to be as reliable as other pedals, but what the hell, its not like im going to gig it every night! it turns on and off ok, and im a sucker for blue LEDs :)

N/A (but it does come with an optional warranty card)

its from the US, i dont think its available in the UK yet.

Overall Rating : 10
i give it two thumbs up. if your looking for some fun effects and dont want to break the bank then check it out. the fab OD has turned out to be a little gem, so dont discriminate against these cos of the price!

Simple but not great sounding.

Sound Quality : 3
Its sound is disappointing. I've had and have several other flangers and this is the least appealing I've had yet. The flanging is too subtle for most of its range, but still coats your tone with a thick, chorus-esque effect that sounds indistinct and unflattering. If you crank up the 3 knobs you get a cool effect, but it's really over the top at that point, not something you'd want to hear for very long. It's also really metallic on most all settings. Any flanger can sound metallic and even unmusical, but this one is great at it. The muddiness is not worth the effect.

The best this pedal offers is on cranked settings, where you can get some synthy pitch shifting effects. Sounds cool for that, but little else. I've had Danelectro pedals that sound great, but this one is not one of them. It's cheap, but just not very good.

Reliability : No Opinion
For how cheap it is, it seems well made, but hard to say, and I won't be using it a lot.

I hoped to like this pedal, I like effects and have many. This one is funky and fun but not very practical for regular use. Like I said, Danelectro has the goods with a lot of their products, but this one is surprisingly disappointing.

It only has 3 knobs (Regen, Speed & Depth). Pretty easy to use. As with the other Fab Pedals, the knobs may appear to be "backward" from above. The input/output are very close to the knobs, making adjusting them a little difficult. The placement of the knobs is the only reason I'm not giving it a 10.

Sound Quality : 8
Greg Bennett Torino (SG Copy) > Big Muff Pi> Fab Flange > Fab Chorus > Kustom 12A Tube Amp
It is a fairly subtle flanger until you turn any of the knobs past 3-4 o'clock. That's when the Whooosh really kicks in. A nice range of tones. Personally I like them between 1-3 for a Nirvana/Radiohead-ish tone.
It's a little noisy, especially compared to my Fab Chorus. But for $25 Canadian I don't think you can go wrong.
I can't give it a perfect score because it's one of my first pedals & I haven't compared it to any others. But for a newbie or someone who doesn't wanna shell out the coin for other pedals, this is the pedal for you.

Reliability : 6
I had it a few weeks now, but I baby my equipment. It is made of sturdy plastic, but it is only plastic. Also, the lever inside the pedal attached to the switch is a piece of plastic. Bedroom use: 9, Stage use:3 Average = 6

Warranty isn't valid in Canada.

I play whatever I like, whether it's Radiohead, Johnny Cash, Tool, or the Pogues. I've be playing about 4 years now, and this is my second pedal. I love the price, it's pretty hard to go wrong! If it were lost or stolen (or broken), I would probably get another. I also love that between this & my distortion pedal, I can come pretty close to many artist's tone. Again, it's cheap, but well worth the money. I hope they make a phaser soon.
