Danelectro DJ-4 Corned Beef Reverb

I picked up this thing for $10 AU on eBay. It only has 2 knobs but it's not easy to dial in a good sound. Mix knob controls wet to dry mix and high cut rolls off the top end sound of the effect the more you move it clockwise. Rolling off too much of the highs weakens the effect but there is a sweet spot around 2 'o'clock where you get a nice balance.

All right. This is not a great sounding reverb on its own. Nor does it sound anything like spring reverb. But it does sound better in an effects loop with the mix knob on max and some high cut engaged. The hi-cut rolls off some of the inherent tinkey electronic sound. It sound like garbage if you run it into your amp's front end. It is technically a reverb pedal; as the echoes do sound dispersed to my ear. And if you turn an additional delay unit on in conjunction with the Corned Beef you'll notice this echo dipersion more. I tried the Dano with a Moen Pretty Dolly Delay set for around 250-300ms of delay with minimal repeats and it really brought this the reverb effect to life. You can also get quite a decent slapback going but you can't control the feedback for one discrete repeat which is what true slapback echo actually is. But I have a Dano Fab Echo for that task anyway. This is not their best pedal; but it may be useful for recording. Like blending it into the effects mix of a song for example. Or, just for a more whacky, unusual guitar tone. It sounds pretty good with another delay unit on top of it just to strengthen the sound of the effect which is rather weak and a bit electronic sounding by itself.

Well...I bought it s/h and one knob had been broken off and reglued on by the original owner. I managed to fix it by fabricating new pot shafts and knobs from plastic tubing and small scale model tank wheels respectively - all held together with gel-type super glue (cyanoacrylate). I think these Dano "food-name" pedals are rather sturdy, although the knobs are susceptable to damage (obviously). Just look after them and you'll be fine.

I play lots of styles and have always loved the sound of Fender spring reverbs. This pedal is not capable of achieving that type of sound by itself. With another delay engaged it does sound closer to that though. For the price I paid I can't complain about it. But it isn't really a very inspiring piece of equipment and not as good as I have come to expect from Danelectro gear which I usually like a lot. Maybe okay for someone on a very tight budget who wants to add a small amount of wetness to a dry amp sound. Not too bad for slapback effects too.

The verdict!

1. Very limited reverb/delay sound spectrum. Mix below 12 o'clock is un-usable or is very weak. The sweetest spot is at 2 o'clock mix for the reverb and 3 o'clock for the slap echo

2. The hi-cut knob is has a very subtle effect and barely unnoticeable. The sweetest spot i could use is from 7 o'clock(zero) to 9 o'clock.beyond these setting will weaken the reverb effect.

3. Reverb type is vintage so don't expect this one as a big ambient type like church or stadium like.

overall its recommendable. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A VINTAGE TYPE REVERB. It does what it's intended to do.

wow everybody. who thought fake reverb can sound so bad? it's just a silly slapback delay, and that's what it's good for. a lo-fi crappysounding slapback. I have my fun with that. putting it in front of an autowah works great for some really funky staccato reggae chops, but that's about the only use i have for this pedal. or for creating total noisechaos.

Not hard to use, just no amount of fiddling gets a decent reverb sound. Manual? Wouldn't need on with just two buttons.

It doesn't sound terrible, it just doesn't sound like a reverb. Think Mr Spacely's reverb from the Jetson's! No way to adjust the sound for a good reverb. It's a short repeat, electronic sound, not a reverb.

I would not use this thing. Someone could use it for a different sound but it would not be a sound that you would use frequently.
Funny thing, I have five other Dano $15 effectd and they all work fine, some better than others, but all quite usable.

I play several differnt styles and this would work for noone of them. i returned it within 24 hours.

Easy to use, although on initial use the hi-cut confused me - the higher you set it the shorter the reverb gets - its labelled correctly, I'm just used to getting more effect when turning to the right. No manual required.

Initially, I was dissapointed as it seemed to be too close to a slapback delay instead of a flat reverb. I'd characterise its sound as a slapback delay infront of a short reverb. I put it infront of a marshall jcm800 head - and I love it. It reminds me of Beatles abbey road or playing in a large bathroom. A very engaging sound. Does not remind me of a Fender reverb, due to the strength of the delay repeats. I put a long dealy in front of it and the combination is very pleasing - kinda has a ducking effect and smooths the edges off of the dealy. Does not add much noise.

It came with a protective plastic manifold to protect the knobs during shipping. As is doesn't interfere with use, I left it on - with this it looks reasonbly durable.

30 years, a tone-freak-on-a-budget, classic rock, blues rock, schecter CETs, Fender Twin, Marshall JCM800. It adds a unique spring-y ambience to the dry marshall head that will be very usefull. I was worried about the price of $29, but turned out to be very cool.

I had to write this review after reading the review from "myself" who said that this would be a good pedal for a "nashville imitating guitarist in south dakota" As the president of the Nashville Imitating Guitarists of South Dakota, I take offense to that! Actually, I laughed my ass off.
As for the pedal. I never bought one, I've tried one three times at the music store. And I honestly could never tell if it was on or off. I couldnt hear anything.
So the verdict is, NO, it's not even fit for the Nashville Imitating Guitarists of South Dakota, lol.

Very noisy and fake sounding. Too echoe-y, sounds like a concert hall with delay. Sound also degrades with the reverb/echo output.

Bottom of the line cheap plastic Dano pedal. I would be very careful. Though I've never had a problem with any.

I play classic rock, psychedelic music. Playing for eight years. I bought this when all the little Dano pedals came out. Some were good (phaser, tremelo) some sucked (reverb *this one*, flanger), etc. Anyway I took it back ASAP.

If I were given another as a present and it were being stolen I would not chase the thief.

Well, two knobs and one button, set it and forget it, doesn't get much simpler! the manual was a folded piece of paper with a couple of simple diagrams "sounds best like this" was about the extent of the instructions, I rather like that!

I have a few different compinations I use the pedal with, the bottom line to the whole thing is, I keep wanting to not like this pedal, but then every time I use it, the little punk sounds bloody great; I mean it's got this silly little 40's retro styled case and is named after a piece of meat!!! However, I won't try to say that it gives the tonal equivalent of a vintage Fender Dual Reverb, but hooked to a little Mesa Subway and a decent strat, it does have a very pleasing vintage garage kinda sound!! This little pedal seems to be way better than the pittance Ipaid for it, and that's a godd thing, which adds considerability to the like-ability factor.

Well I've had it for only a few months and I tend to take very good care of my equipment, so to date no issues about reliability. Like all pedals however it does eat the batteries, if I was going to really start using it much I'd buy one of the power supplies for it.

I paly a crazy mix of celtic/punk/metal/garage/industrial/retro. I've been playing, well longer than most of you folks have been alive!! If it was stolen, I'd hunt the bastard down and flog him/her (as the case might be, hopefully her for the flogging!!!!) and tell them to buy their own, I mean they don't cost that much. I would probably go out and buy the pedal again, unless I felt rather flush with cash and wanted to go top end. I bought it on line because a friend had loaned me the Mesa Subway amp which didin't have reverb. The pedal was cheap and so am I so it seemed a good fit. The end result was a very plesant suprise, the thing pretty much worked as advertised. I didn't really compare it to anything else, just bought it because it was cheap. It's easy to use, cresates a remarkably decent spring reverb sound (close anyway), doens't create any extra major hissing or other distracting sounds that would make it a nusiance and seems to be fairly well put together. So in closing, You could easily spend 2 or 3 times as much and not get any better!!!

When I'm taking about sound quality I want to make it clear I'm talking about reverb quality for surf. The reverb sounds very artificial. If you want to play quality surf music, I'd recommend poning up a little more money for a quality reverb pedal like a Digitech Digiverb.

This may be just me, so read the other reviews as well, but my corned beef reverb pedal had a lot of problems. Whenever I played any notes low on the neck, the pedal would make the amp create this hideous high pitched shriek, and I'd have to turn off the amp. I was paranoid everytime I did a slide of any kind. Months later the thing stopped working completely.

I didn't bother to call anyone, since it was so cheap. I could probably have just bought a new one...but I didn't. I upgraded from the corned beef pedal to a Digitech Digiverb pedal and i am very satisfied with the upgrade.

I play surf music and you can't play surf music without lots of reverb. The Dano corned beef pedal was the first reverb pedal I ever owned. It was fine for awhile, since I was only a novice guitar player and didn't ever plan to play infront of anyone. If you are a surf guitarist I would strongly recommend you do not buy this! Buy a real reverb unit, a Digitech Diverb or a Holy Grail (they are good from what I hear) instead. This dano pedal may be cheap, but if you are willing to put up $50-$60 more, I recommend getting a Digitech Digiverb or a Holy Grail. If you aren't a surf guitarist, you may like this pedal so don't judge it based on this one review.

Come on now...It's got 2 knobs and a circle button to step on. Not difficult at all. Now, getting a sound out of it that you like...that's a totally different story. Overall, with some fiddling, you can get something that you like out of it. No manual, but I did get 2 warranty cards (Useful??? Not really).

I am using a Guild AD-50 acoustic with a Seymour Duncan Tube soundhole pickup (Which is great by the way). This goes through the same Marshall MG 50 amp that I use for my SG and Tele.

I thought it was a reverb. Was I wrong. Actually, let me re-phrase; I thought that it would be a digital style, Hall-type reverb. I was wron about that. It has a real vintage-y slapback thing going on. Boy was I shocked.

It can be a fun pedal f you can reconcile with what it is. It is not an ambience-type reverb. At least not to me it isn't. It can create some pretty sweet slap-back, shower sort of effects. I'll give it an 8 because it's no Electro-Harmonix product, but it makes some cool sounds if that's what you're looking for.

Something that I forgot to mention is that it has almost no hiss, pedal noise, or tone coloring. It's not a hard bypass, but what do you want for 30 bucks new or 5 at a garage sale?

It is pretty reliable. It is plastic...It was made by Danelectro...It did only cost me $14 on sale...Come on now though...If you wanted something that you could jump up and down on, go get an EH or Boss pedal. This is good for small stuff. ie. chruches, club gigs, cd release parties, etc. I would gig it without a backup, because if it does break, I take it out of the chain and no great loss.

Not ever needed them, but for the warranty card and the minimal amount of effort, they get an average 7. Little to no work for a 7...I am pretty benevolent.

I think that it's pretty cool. Neat sounds for electric and acoustic stuff. It is what it is though. You want a really nice hall reverb, got get an Alesis rack. If you don't have reverb on your amp, you can tweak this into giving you a little rounder, wetter, and fuller sound. You can do some pretty cool stuff with it. Good for indie rock, surf stuff maybe, all sorts of different sounds that need a little quirk. The main thing is that you have to realize that you ALWAYS get what you pay for with musical instruments and gear. For 10-30 dollars, it probably won't change the way you think about guitars. It will add a little quirky coler however, and that can be fun.

There is one interesting thing about hicut . . . as you turn hicut, delay feedback value also decreases. It means that delay repeat times decrease.
It is easy to confirm that. If you turn both mix and hicut to full, you can hear only one echo. (It's a kind of doubling sound.)

This is not reverb but delay. This can not be noisy at all. You like this or not is depended upon your preference.
I suppose if you love spring reverb sound, this may not be for you.
But practically, for live usage, audience can hardly tell difference between this and spring reverb. Because reverbrant nature of room will reduce taste of solid state delay.
I bought this recently, because my Polytone amp has broken reverb.
Direct sound from speaker can not be the same as spring reverb, because this is solid state delay. But I think this is not so bad.
I sometimes use this with another delay (PB&J delay of Dano) to get Metheny like doubling + delay sound. Corned beef Setting is mix=2 o'clock, hicut =full. PB&J setting is mix=10 o'clock, delay time=minimum(in long delay mode), feedback=1 o'clock. Connection order is Semi/full-acoustic guitar => Corned beef => PBJ => Amp.
If you try this setting, you can confirm Corned beef can add warm & rich doubling sound to PB&J delay.

I guess Dano designer must hate to manufacture substitution for conventional spring reverb.?@He must challenge to make something new.
It is interesting that currently Dano has three small stomp delay boxes, Corned beef, BLT and PB&J. Dano must give different concepts to these three. I think Corned beef is so so, PB&J is excellent, and I have not tried BLT yet.
Considering its price, this is not so bad. I can use this for live/gig.
If this is broken, I will try BLT of Dano, or I will repair reverb unit of my Polytone Amp.

Very easy, very clever settings: mix and hicut. It means when you have a lot of reverb you can cut its harshness(or strangeness if such a word exists) and when you have almost none you can make it present in another way, cute dano!
It is an analog device, with high consumption. I don't like the fact that it doesn't accept more than 300ma 9vdc. It will smoke and die if you don't respect that, I've learned it the hard way.
So it's not that easy to use, go check your transformer wattage before gigging... Stupid dano.

I also hve a digiverb and two tons of reverb processors(aalesis, zoom, behringer, yamaha) and nothing comes close. Think weird spring crossed with slapback analog delay. Unique!
In fact I use it all the time, I'm severely addicted.
Of course no hard bypass but who cares since it's always on?(like compressors, once you have them every sounds lame without!)

Very reliable but wait: my unit stays always on in the back of my amp, or on the desk.
Oh, and the problem with the 300ma max. a 5 for this one because transformers are now very powerful in average

cheap reverb at a cheap price. getting a good sound is questionable, but if you're wondering how hard it is to tinker with it, it has two knobs and a footswitch.

slightly more difficult than an MXR Phase 90. but only slightly.

when I had this, i used it through a variety of tone sucking, bad sounding effects into a cheap amp (which I continue to use today; i said it was cheap, never said it sounded bad). this reverb sounded more like playing your guitar in a shower or a bathroom. the hi-cut knob may have well just been decapitated from the unit, as it does absolutely NOTHING. Believe me, I tried to hear a difference.

The mix knob is self explanitory...dry/wet, if you don't know what that means, may I suggest asking someone to tell you about it. At about 9 o clock you could get a convincible "furnished room" sound with minimal bounceback, 12 o' clock was like an empty room, 2 o' clock can get you a cheap imitation of a hall reverb, anything past that is pretty much gigantic shower/stall/bathroom/really long drain pipe reverb.

from what I remember I think I used it consecutively for the first two weeks I had it, then I pretty much never used it again. Only sparingly did I turn it on. When it came time to sell my effects, the Danelectro was next to go right after my Zoom 505II. Now that I think of it, the Zoom had better reverb than this. That's pretty sad.

I'll almost play anything and everything. I couldn't see this pedal being used by or for anything more than :

a) a cheap nashville-country imitation guitarist in south dakota
b) a paperweight to hold your setlist down.

I really did not enjoy this pedal very much. I am now less of a man for having owned it. Please stay away from this pedal, because it is dangerous, and gives good sounding reverb a swift kick in the behind and a bad stereotype.

Single control. Easy to use but take the time to play with it to find the amount of reverb you want.

OK, it isn't really what I wanted, was too echoy and I found it hard to find the right spot to get what I was looking for. I am used to the built in spacy spring reverb units and this one doesn't really give it to you. It is more of a reverb/delay hybrid I guess.

One thing to note is that the hum mentioned below is due to crappy power supply. I bought one and this pedal produced a horrid hum but then agin so did the Boss and other pedals. I bought a Danelectro power supply and the hum went away in them all.

I use it at the end of my line of pedals for my electric axe and it operates OK. \

I ran it as loop back reverb through the PA and found it to be too over the top for that. Became very delay like when strong sharp sound put through it. Long constant tones where fine but short harp tones do the horrible delat thing.

Good for the price and better than nothing. Works fine with clean guitar work as I use it.

It's cheap... and small... and not much else. It does, however, take sometime to learn the ins and outs of getting good tones. I give it a 7 only for the fact that you will need to play around with the settings to get the tone you want.

I'm running an Ovation 6-string Acoustic (seriously) through a Semour Duncan Woody into a Fender Acoustasonic 30. It can get a little noisy, so play with your pedal sequencing to minimize/eliminate hum. A lot of the other reviewers really seem to bash the quality of the reverb, but when you consider the price, I think it's pretty damn good. If you want an expensive sounding reverb, buy an expensive piece of equipment. Again, I can't stress enough that the Corned Beef pedal can be a bit tricky, be prepared to spend a little time getting to know this one.

2 out of every 3 reviews of Dano products I've read here really stress "the plastic this and bad switch that." And, yes, it's plastic. And yeah, Dano stuff is cheap. But, I've never had one go out on me. I've gigged on the Corned Beef numerous times and it's done great. I've had it for about 4 months now and I practice on it 3-5 day a week and do about 3 shows a month. I don't beat the heck out of it, but I also don't treat it like it's made of glass. I've got to give it a perfect 10. From start to finish, this pedal handles everything I throw at it. And who needs a backup when you have the DJ-4

I guess, overall, the Danelectro DJ-4 Corned Beef Reverb gets a 9. If someone stole it today, I'd be at the store getting another one today. I'm a big Dano fan, to date I've loved everything I've tried. It works great for my acoustic/rockabilly/garage sound, in the vein of Young, Stray Cats, Georgia Sat., Dylan and Jack Johnson. The only other thing I can say about this pedal is: For the price, it's the best thing out there.

My problem is when you buy something and it say's "reverb", you expect "REVERB". This is not a 'reverb' pedal, what this does is imitate's (not very well)reverb by using a very short slap delay effect. O.k having gotten that of my chest, this can be a bit of a cool, quirkey effect if thats what your after. I was after a reverb pedal, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Anyway, for the money I'm giving this a very generous 6 out of 10. oh almost forgot to mention the hum you get when using this pedal. Apparently it does'nt hum if you use a Danelectro power supply. I've got a power supply!! I should'nt need to buy another one!!!! Changed my mind I'm giving it a 5

worked fine for the short while i had it...Probably would'nt want to step on it to hard, But would probably last a lifetime for most people who look after their gear.

Been playing for 20 years, no I would'nt buy this pedal again in fact I sold it the same week I bought it. Like I said before it's not a bad pedal for the money (except for the hum) and I would imagine could come in handy in a studio. Quirkey is the word that come's to mind. Not bad, just not for me.

I agree with the previous reviewer that this pedal shouldn't be compared to high-end rack-mount or plug-in reverbs. It's "reverb-like" in the manner of older non-spring reverb processors. However, I bet folks who buy it without trying it first, expecting a pristine, lush, smooth-tailed reverb, are going to be disappointed. My bet is that if you work with it long enough you can find a sweet spot, yet because of that it's not all that easy to use. Yeah, you can easily turn the knobs, but certain other Dano mini-pedals sound good no matter where you set them. This one doesn't.

I'll help to offset the bad reviews, too. We'll get to the reverb sound in a minute, but first ==> no discernable sonic coloration to your unprocessed signal, and no hiss or other artifacts. It's a very quiet pedal, and that should count for something.

The reverb sound is metallic-sounding at worst, and at best, tends toward a subtle multiple-slapback. That's right, you can hear distinct rapid echoes of your original signal, more and more as you increase the Level control. The Hi-Cut control does reduce how noticeable the repeats are but you'll always hear them unless you turn the Hi-Cut all the way clockwise. Then, the effect seems to disappear entirely (huh?). I thought I heard actual "smooth" reverb in-between the repeats, very low in volume, but I bet that's my aural imagination. And I suppose that's just what Dano was trying to do, make a cheap pedal that fools you into hearing reverb from a pile of quick repeats.

So instead of scrutinizing the reverb sound, just set it and play ? indeed you, your bandmates and your audience will hear a non-dry, reverbed sound. Alternatively, exploit the pedal's dark secret to your own advantage ? for instance, you can easily coax a realistic bathroom-slapback from it. Or front-load it with a metal distortion pedal and dime it for some sonic otherworldliness. Remember, players from the 60's and 70's never expected anything from their pedals beyond "it makes my guitar sound different". But now we clamor to pay top dollar for those same rusty pedals, because they have "personality" compared to our mass-produced digital wonder-boxes. Ah, the irony !!

Probably good enough for bedroom or garage-band use. Obviously not made to be abused, but mount it on a board and it will probably last forever. I doubt anyone will be depending on this pedal for critical performance or studio work, so my reliability rating is relative to how it would typically be used.

I bought this used and will likely never contact Danelectro for any reason. No opinion here.

Overall, it's just a weird pedal with its own kind of mojo. After two weeks of using it I've found two good settings and I can imagine finding more. Like many, I got this for a small home amp that didn't have reverb. It fits the bill just fine. If you can get past the alternative-reverb approach, you may find ways to like it. If not, you can at least sell it for close to what you paid.

i have this pedal run through a fender blues junior / vox pathfinder and the sound is amazing! i am rating this pedal as high as i can to try and neutralize all the bad reviews. Dont bash it because you dont understand it. i agree that maybe it should be labled something else possible corned beef slap echo / reverb but i have used many other vintage electronic reverbs and the sound is almost identical.
If you listen to Neil Young at all you will know exactly what this pedal is supposed to do. Sorry to all you hard digital rockers that need a nice warm reverb served to you on a silver platter.

I use an Italia Modena with 2 P-90's through an old Kelly (60's calss A, rare basically a Selmer with a different badge), if I go in the front the sound is defineatly unique but a tad muddy, but through the fx loop, it's sweet as a nut.The pedal is a retro style sound and it delivers.

This is my only reverb pedal and i've gigged it a fair bit, the body is plastic but i leave it on all the time so i don't get to stomp on it but i reakon if you did give it a size 10 it would survive. It's never broke, yet.

If some blaggard half inched it, i would buy another, although i have hankering for an EH Holy Grail, this peadl is excellant at delivering one style of reverb only, if that retro thing ain't for you then this is not gonna work, but if like me you have both feet firmly stuck in the 50's/60's then maybe give this a go. It's excellant for surf as well

its got 2 knobs, mix and high-cut. Its not rocket science.

Its pretty good, its not great but its okay. Push it to far and it sounds fake and crappy, not enough and theres not alot of difference. I can squeeze out some good, more acoustic sounds with it, i was'nt expecting it to be the greatest reverb pedal in the world but for the price i paid its great. More a 6.5 than a 7.

Its made of plastic but it feels pretty strong. you could'nt go jumping on it but why would you do that anyway?. I'd gig with it because unlike alot of reviews on here it is'nt a piece of tat, the plastic cover is about 6mm thick and those knobs are'nt gonna come off if you look after it.

Its not bad, not bad at all. plenty to muck about with and simple enough that you dont need to spend a couple of hours looking at a manual. I like it.

I dont really like this pedal, its not a good reverb. It sounds cool and all, its just not a good reverb. Its easy enough to use though. I bought it used and it was pretty beat up, no rubber backing junk and had some dings.

Like I said above, not a good reverb. It sounds really fake to me. if you use just a little bit of reverb, it sounds good, but if you want more than that, buy another pedal.

Its plastic and has little crappy knobs. nuff said.

Its an ok pedal, It makes some cool sounds, and is only good for a little reverb. If ya want reverb, buy somethin else.

two knobs, mix and hi-cut. very easy to tweak and get a useable sound.

this is where people do all of their bickering. I don't understand why. Perhaps they do not know how to use this pedal correctly? It's not going to pop out at you. It doesn't have HALL and ROOM and PLATE reverbs that you can switch to just like your rackmount effects or your Boss pedals. This pedal may take some time to get used to, but I really like it. The Mix knob takes you from a small room reverb all the way to a "drain pipe" reverb. The Hi-Cut knob reduces the effect by a certain degree. It doesn't cut the effect out, like many people think, but it softens the effect so the effect isn't so harsh. I can use this reverb for almost anything. Many think it's a pedal for surf and rockabilly. I play alternative/hard rock, and it works great for me. No complaint here, but since it takes some time and patience to get the sound you want, it gets docked a point.

It's made out of durable plastic, but be careful. Don't stomp on it or else you'll end up having to buy a new one.

when I first got this pedal, I had no idea how much it would drain battery life. I left the effects cables in one night and when I plugged it in the next day, it made the most bizzare spaceship UFO splatting sound. It was cool, but it was very annoying. Not knowing it was the battery, I emailed customer support, and they responded to me within 24 hours. Great service, they told me what to do, and that it was no problem at all. Silly mistake, but we all have to learn somehow.

a very underrated pedal in my opinion. It gets mocked and spit at because it takes time to tweak. It's not the best reverb in the world, but for the price that Danelectro manufactures it at, it's well worth it.

its really easy to use plug in and the sopud is there. Yes you have to tweak the knobs but with a little patience....The sound is there*

I use a strat through a 50's champ.
I found it tended to be very quiet while running on a 9 volt. Ac was pretty quiet as well. I really LOVE the sound quality but obviously this is objective. I will say I have owned almost every reverb pedal
to date including the little lanelie by Songworks. This little guy gets a sweet thick sound. I am done with expensive reverbs for now.
This is a great pedal for the money!

Its made of hard plastic, You have to be careful.
Its not bad and yes Ive used it a bunch of times live..
and it made it through each set.

Overall, I think this pedal is great.
It gets a nice watery thick reverb sound. I play a mix
of blues and rockabilly and it works good for that. I think it blows
away some of the other pedal that cost 4-5times of much. For a fraction of the cost of a boutique pedal you get that fat cool wall of sound feeling. I love the way it sounds, I am surprised this
little pedal wails the way it does. You can coax some really cool
sounds out of it, ulike other reverb pedal that do one thing only.

I guess it's easy enough to use however I can't tell much difference in the control using the knobs. That echo sound just won't go away. I do like the on/off button though... when it's in the off position.

This isn't really a reverb pedal. It's difficult to put a finger on what it sounds like exactly, but reverb is not really what comes to mind. If you replace a speaker cone with a disposable pie pan and add a little slap echo, then you have the tone of this pedal.
I can honestly say, Danelectro has a very unique thing here.

Plastic. Heck, they're so cheap, you could buy several backups if you felt so inclined.

Everyone has to determine what is good tone for himself. This pedal does nothing for me. I guessed that I wouldn't like it before I bought it, but it was worth $25 to give it a try. Who knows, there's probably some kid in Nashville that could make this thing sound great.
