Ease of Use : 8
This pedal is very simple to use consisting of only 2 knobs. You can get it to sound good in a short amount of time.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this with a Tom Delong stratocaster so i can have a fair clean tone and play it through a peavey bandit. I've only had this padal for about 3 days now and it has a pretty nice sound to it for the money, ( minus the fact of all the background noise. ) I like to play anywhere from Candlebox to Metallica and on, and it sounds good in clean, but a bit muddy in distortion.

Reliability : 2
This little pedal seems like it was built with tissue paper. I have had it for only a few days and after about and hour of playing it, the back fell off and the casing cracked. Mow everythie i play it for some reason there is a delayed distortion in the background. Im going to bring it back because of that. I'll try it again, maybe i got a dud, but it is terribly cheap feeling.
Along with that, the back of the little guy, (which you have to unscrew each time you change the battery) is terrible fit. It takes forever to get the back into place so the screw will go in the screw hole, then you have yo hassle with a screwdriver which none of them fit the hole.

I play all varieties of rock metal and others and I'll say, if you are looking for a chorus pedal on a budget, and only plan to use it in clean, go ahead and buy one. If you are planning on using it lot and in comb. with other effects, save up for a Boss. If it were stolen... i would pay someone to steal it from me. I've been playing heavily for about 4 1/2 years I use this in comb. with a Boss Metal Zone, and Ibanez Delay/Echo and i keep them all together next to my mic. The Dan isnt even heavy enough to stay put on the ground. It floats around with the cords. Ughh

Easy to use, rate and depth. Very nice. Works best for me at
3 on rate and 5 on depth. Easy to use.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this pedal with my silvertone strat (with an EMG Select HB and
a single coil, south end of a gibson 500T and a vintage mini single coil.)

I also use a peavey rage 158, which is actually a very good 15w
amp....I've tested alot of other low wattage ams and they don't
really compare as well.
Sound? Very nice. Somewhat has some harmonics action thing going on.
Nice coloration of the tone....if you listen closely, it sounds like
1. harmonics in background
2. slightly a bit of flange
3. lots of reverb
So that's what *this* chorus sounds like.

It does in the dirty channel have somewhat alot of background noise....but it's not noticeable at low levels or if your playing.

Reliability : 6
I dunnoo....the bottom is built well, the knobs are small, and it uses
9v batteries like noneother. Seems sturdy except for the knobs.

I would gig with it. I plan on it.

It's pretty good for a $30 pedal, and it's definately useable.

I plan on buying alot (but after testing them out) some more dane
pedals.

No manual included but if you are smart enough to get it out of the box then you can probably figure out how to adjust the two knobs
(speed and depth). There are a couple of good settings in there.

Sound Quality : 9
I have found that the best setting is when both knobs are set around 4(speed and depth)- this setting seems to work really well with clean sounds. I have not heard any additional noise when turning it on. You can get some pretty funky sounds, which is cool but I don't know how usefull these sounds would be - this seems to be the case for MOST chorus pedals I have tested. Hey, for 20 bucks I have no complaints about the sound. Well, maybe one...I wish this thing had a LEVEL control to manipulate the amount of the effect, not volume. This seems to be missing on most, if not all, Dano MINIs.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't had long enough to abuse and rate

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
For the money ($20) you can't go wrong. It is just AS USEFULL TO ME as other chorus pedals I have tried (boss, Ibanez, DOD). Keep in mind, money was NOT the deciding factor when I purchased this pedal. I just didn't see a huge difference when comparing to others. I also know that I'm not going to call on this (or any chorus) pedal for every song and situation. However, if you are a pedal freak, particularly chorus, and you play out a lot - I would probably consider looking at another chorus for flexibility and durability.
This would be a great inexpensive back up Chorus pedal as well.
If it were stolen or lost, I would empty my change jar and buy a new one.

Ease of Use : 8
This pedal is pretty simple to use and understand! There are no weird manuals to pour over or "programs" to set up. Two knobs (speed & depth) and an on/off switch...all pedals should be this easy! My model was demo model at my music store- so there was no manual included (or box).

Sound Quality : 9
I'm currently using the Dano Milkshake Chorus with a Fender Standard Strat and a Fender Princeton 65 amp thru the effects loop. The Dano sounds nice thru the Fender amp's effects loop. When you activate the pedal it kicks right in quietly (without any pops or crackles). There are no volume gains or losses when the pedal is used- it stays the same! The pedal does not alter the sound of the guitar or amp (example: no loss of treble or bass frequencies).
This is a very simple and basic chorus pedal that is a real value!

Reliability : 8
Dano has cut corners by housing this chorus in a small (but neatly constructed)blue plastic casing. This is a "winnning situation" for guitar players that don't have to shell out big bucks for a chorus pedal anymore. The plastic seems very strong and durable-time will tell how this blue titan holds up.
I use it with a 9 volt battery- so I don't have to carry around another extension cord.
It will be used without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
I have dealt with Dano in the past and they DO backup their products! I used their website (for help) and got what I needed from them! They seem interested in mantaining a positive public image. I like them!

Overall Rating : 8
I play mostly rock music (50s thru 90s) with some blues and country (in there also). I've been playing guitar for 30 years. I play a Fender Standard Strat and a Fender Princeton 65 amp (which are great giiging tools). I would replace this unit if were stolen (but I may upgade it if it burned out).
Compared to other chorus pedals this has a lot of "bang for your buck" due to it's reasonable price and sound.
If I could improve it-I would have used bigger knobs and the ability to slow down the speed a little more. But hey, for the price I can't complain too loudly!

Two knobs (nuff said!)

Sound Quality : 6
Overall the chorus sound is very good. I'm comparing this to the other chorus pedals I have (or had), some of those include... Boss CE-1 (the original) 3 Boss CE-2 pedals (2 MIJ 1 Taiwaneese), Boss CE-5, Ibanez SC10, Nobels CH-D and lastly the Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus. So I do have alot of chorus pedals to use in comparison. Nice warm sound with no annoying noisy a** boost (like the Voodoo). The bad thing though is the fact that you can't effectively use it with Master volume type amps. If you do it's NOISY AS HELL!, kind of a whirling-type noise (very annoying). If you use it AFTER an Overdrive/Distortion it's about as noisy as any other non-bypass pedal.

Reliability : 6
Cheap plastic casing and the lack of proper sheilding realy REALY suck! Other than that it seems fairly reliable, just don't kick it around.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
I actually do like the sound of the chorus, it's as good as any current Boss/Ibanez/DOD chorus. But it's lack of forethought in design are definately a bummer. Most likely I would not replace it with another one if lost or stolen. But for $25 bucks, whadda' ya' expect?!

aww c'mon, what,s everybody bitchin' about? The sound quality is fine, man.Did you try it before you bought it?This cat below me says it's his HOLY FRAGGIN'GRAIL fer chrissakes. This is a review fer a 30.00 plastic chorus right?OK so it's not a CE-1,granted.But honestly it sounds pretty good.Got kinda low-fi warpiness to it which was what I was lookin fer w/out havin ta spend a bunch o loot.Well I got it and I can sound like anyone else that uses a chorus weeee!!!!I may still upgrade to a cool cat or the Small Clone er both but this will more than tide me over(just bought it today).Setup schmetup I'm tired of constantly revealing what type of shitty amp I play thru. But I tell you this;I am a 15 year vet.I've gigged with niceties when having them was necessity. Now,I merely record, collect stompboxes, and go to mortuary school(soon, anyway)Try before you buy, straight from the embalmer's mouth. It sounds good with both nobs at max after a French toast with octave switch on(for leads)

Reliability : 7
well I just got it but I don't gig so it should be fine like all my other minis(besides the flanger, which crapped out after 4 months-oh well, flange schmange)

I'm on their mailing list but I have never spoken w/ em.

Total weirdness-I don't know-"ambient" "droney"baloney just whatever combinations of single notes n' chords i come up with-that's my style.I've played in punk bands, buttrock bands,Black Sabbath cover bands a live hiphop band, post rock slo-fi no-fi whatever and I've been doin' it fer 15 years. If it were misplaced,I 'd slit my wrist or just buy another one.It helps me make echoey waterfalldrones as far as I know.I just got it today, but it should spruce up some of those clean n pretty parts so yeah I love it wee

Rate and Depth.... NOT VERY HARD PEOPLE!

The only reason why I give this a 7 for Ease of Use is cuz it's somewhat hard to turn it on and off if you're bare-footed. But, that's never a real problem anyways.

Sound Quality : 10
I play stuff from odd funky Flea-like shit (I'm a bassist!) to easy rock shit like Dead Kennedys to Nirvana n such.. AND THIS CHORUS IS MY FUCKING HOLY GRAIL FOR CHORUSES!!!! It can be subtle and heavy if I want it to. The only noise that it really makes is that it sorta "thickens" the static that the amp would make normally when it's on. The noise isn't a problem at all for me though.

Reliability : No Opinion
umm... looks pretty good. I bought it yesterday though

Customer Support : No Opinion
dunno

Overall Rating : 10
It's the perfect chorus (for me at least)! It's small, not very noisey, quite versatile and straight-forward. I love it and because of the cheap price I would definitely buy one again if it's stolen. And then I'd beat the shit out of that jackass who had nothing better but to steal a 40 buck chorus pedal.

speed knob controls speed. depth knob controls depth. who'd a thunk it? easy as pie

Sound Quality : 8
it sounds neat for some settings. like sometimes i don't even notice the sound change. but is is noticeable enough. if you have distortion on, it kinda adds a boost as well. if you turn both knobs all the way up it sounds crazy, like out of tune crazy weird thingy. i like it, i use this pedal in two of my songs, one with both knobs turned all the way up and the other has kind of a normal chorus setting but added with a quick phaser.

Reliability : 10
i can depend on it, i don't know about other people. i'm careful with all my gear.

i was just wanting to get a couple of effect pedals without having to pay too much, so i traded in my old zoom effects processor for three dano mini's: the tremolo, phaser, and the chorus. the chorus is good for the price, and i don't really need much more.

right know I'm useing a Ibanez{soon to be american strat} through the dano to a Ibanez flanger to a boss overdrive to a Ibanez distortion to a boss dd-5 delay to a dano tremolo though a a/b then to two amps a crate and little fender.its not noisaey at all its tttttttooooo fucking quiet you cant hear the effect buy something else there isn't enough to do with this pedal buy a EH memoy man or a boss or even a dod but not this pedal its crap.

don't get me started on what this pedal has done to me. I've had it maybe ohhhh 4 months and allready it has a knob broken off and the DC power jack is loose.

Very simple controls, speed and depth. you have to play with it for a while to get a nice sound.

Sound Quality : 5
the range of sounds isnt the best. you have obnoxious flange like to nothing at all. ive heard a lot better chorus' for low prices. even the dod stereo chorus would work better. its not bad just for screwin around at home though. i like both knobs a little past 12 o clock.

Reliability : 3
i wouldnt use this thing live (mainly because of the sound) since its plastic. and a few days after i got it the pedal wouldnt turn on. it seemed that the danelectro battery started leaking! after i got it cleaned up it worked ok with a battery for a few days and now it will only work if the AC adapter is hooked up to it. it wont even bypass if it doesnt have juice!

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent dealt with them, you get a 1yr warrenty in the us though.

Overall Rating : 5
I play anythin from punk to alternative. for clean sounds i like a little echo or chorus, just to make it interesting. the only thing this pedal is used for is jammin on my small 25w amp. im saving up to get danelectros big chorus, the cool cat(probably the best stereo chorus ive heard). danelectro mini pedals are generally not good, but there are a few that arent too shabby.
