For one, it does not feedback, even with distortion on. Unlike the el cheapo fab chorus pedals they make this one works on overdriven/distorted settings and sounds as well. on clean it sounds very lush, chorusy sound when you turn the depth knob up to 12 and leave the speed down on 0, and on distorted it gives you the 80's metal sound, which I was hoping to nail down. Folks, this what a true good chorus pedal is suppose to sound like. also when you turn the speed up, it gives you a spacey warbly sound.

I just had for a day without any problems thus far. I would gig on it without backup, and if it broke down or give out, i would replace it with another one or go for a Cool Cat pedal. my only complaint is that I wish it was made of metal instead of hard plastic, which is why I am giving it a 9

I play traditional metal, hard rock blues, and classical music styles and it suits my styles well. compared to higher end pedals by Ibanez and boss, this blows both of them away, and only EH's(Electroharmonix) nano clone comes close to it in sound. I am glad I did not get the nano clone pedal have break down on me or another Ibanez chorus/flanger pedal that does not give out a true chorus sound. A fantastic value indeed.

I originally got this pedal while I was in a Nirvana-craze...most obviously I was trying the get the lush tone from Come As You Are, and I got this pedal to sound pretty close to it. Even as my tastes have shifted over the years, this pedal still fills a useful niche. I like the sounds it can create, and even with only two knobs the varying parameters of the effect are adequate. There's a really bizzare spacy sound you can get with both knobs turned up all the way (though I've had not much use for this sound yet). But I find the sweet spot of this pedal is really the middle ranges of the depth and rate knobs, at least for my tastes.

It seems pretty flimsy at times. I've yet to drop it, so I don't know how it would hold up on the road. I've heard these pedals are tougher than they look. The plastic chassis is rather hard and thick, so it could be true. I'm a little concerned about the battery cable as it also appears flimsy whenever I open the back to change it out. And SPEAKING of the battery, this is one point of the pedal that I've been disappointed with...it tends to suck it dry too quickly! A lot of times I like to leave the pedal plugged in when I step away for a bit. Even though the switch is not activated it is still draining the battery. This should not be the case! It should have been built to only use the battery when the switch is on, not when it is simply plugged in. I know there is a port for an AC adaptor, but I'm already using one for my processor, so I'd rather not have to add another in.

I play heavy/hard classic rock, and as far as I'm concerned this pedal fits the part nicely. Were I ever to replace it, I might upgrade to a larger chorus pedal that doesn't appear so flimsy in design (at times I'm just afraid I'll break it!). But as long as I have it, I will use it. I like its sound quality very much. I'm not that picky with effects, but as I am fascinated with chorus and modulation effects in particular I do spend considerable time finding a good chorus tone, and I can say truthfully that this pedal gives me all the flavor I'm looking for. Plus, the name "Milkshake" just conjures up so many sweet, creamy images. It describes the effect perfectly.

ok, as a chorus effect.. this thing is mediocore, but it is a unique sounding effect. I am not really into a chorus sound, but when I tried this in a pawn shop, I had to buy it. It can get some really creepy sounding chords out of my ukulele with both knobs maxed without it taking over the sound of the instrument like most choruses do. With depth at 3 o'clock and the speed at about 9:30, this thing adds a sort of "full metallic tone" to your instrument. I also tried it on bass and would not recommend it.

I paid 25 bucks for this thing and I am more than satisfied. I have owned many danelectro mini pedals, and this is the best I've used yet. I play mostly funk, rock, and 27th Century porno-grind and this works well for it! I've only tried it on a ukulele and bass(no guitar) and I love how subtle it is. It doesn't try to run the show like many other choruses do. I am very satisfied with this purchase. But if you are looking for a good chorus effect, I would reccommend the small clone.

Well for a $20 pedal I guess its pretty good. But I was never able to get the chorus right on it just was allways a hair off the mark.It sounded lush and full but was allways off the mark timing wise or something.I can't really put my finger on it its been awhile.Would be good as a first chorus pedal just to see if you like chorus.Or would be good if your on a very low budget and needed a chorus or if its a once a night effect and its importance is utmost. But its just not a professional effect.

I am not sure of the best use for chorus effects, but the setting that I use does produce a beautiful, angelic type sound that works well for blues or classical styles (speed and depth at 12oclock). I find that other settings sound really tinny, and sometimes barely audible. I use a Crate GX-15w amp and a Cort Zenon Z2 guitar. Not the most expensive setup, so I'm not sure if better quality equipment will bring better results. But comparitively my other Danelectro pedals are much more versatile.

The day after i purchased it, the pedal started emitting a high pitched squeal. I played it alone and with some of my other pedals (which were new) and it wouldn't stop. I returned it for exchange and was told it may have been a bad batch. I was given a replacement that was apparently from a different batch and so far it is ok (1 week later). My main use for it is practice. If I were to use it for a gig, i would be a little uneasy about pressing on that button.

I love the sound I get from it's current setting. It was cheap, and one of my first pedals, so I'm not over critical of it. The Milkshake is definitely great for people who are new to chorus effects. If there were any other settings I could use I would be happier with it, but the setting I have now is suitable for most of the music I put together. I wish it had a manual describing what type of music, or style of play, would benefit from the different combinations of speed and depth. Overall I think this is worthy for first time purchasers of a chorus pedal. Those who are familiar with the nuances of chorus may want to purchase something else.

This chorus has one sound, a generic kind of rich, lush sound. But as time passes it will drive you mad! Its noisy, it boosts, it distorts and kills frequency response. I have a rule about buying a chorus. It's got to have 3 knobs or more. After awhile I could only run it in one spot, the sweet spot. But don't let that fool you. As in alot of cheap effects you can obtain the best sound that that unit is capable of, call it the sweet spot, and it's still sub par. I guess its alright for some beginner on a tight budget. For the same price or cheaper you can get an Arion chorus thats got 3 knobs.

I have played this with my Ibanez AEF18NT (Acoustic/Electric) and my Gretsch 3150.
For a little unit, this has a great chorus effect...especially on the A/E guitar. No distortion, but when battery is dying...the sound goes to crap (as is the case with all of these similar units). I love tweaking the dials to get what I want; especially when I have the Gretsch and put my Johnson amp into overdrive.
Quality of sound is a little on the dry side, but great none the less. Might be better to run it in line with more effects for better results. Can't be beat for $30 bucks, though.

Serious players or studio musicians will probably want a more versatile unit -- suggest looking at other brands before buying this. If you are playing small gigs or at home, this one is all you need!

Plugged into the patch loop of a Peavey KB/A 60 amp, using Ovation acoustic, Rumor Bass, and Silvertone Rockit 21 (super low cost, high quality SG copy) guitars. Very slight whirley background noise, but that could just be my pickups or cables. Wonderfully rich, luscious effect. Studio quality! I like slow speed with depth dialed about half way. Sounds mellow and rich even with very trebley sounds going in. Sweet!

I've been pretty easy on it, and no problems so far. To save a cable, I like using a rechargable battery for it, which holds up fine for a 4+ hour gig. Not clear how it would stand up to abuse. My pedal will probably outlive most amp-crankin' hard-livin' all-for-show hard-on-gear guitar bangers, but those who actually play music and don't just jump around the stage will have no trouble.

It's like most other pedals on this planet, push the button, and it turns on. Knobs can move easily if you don't have one of those cool Dano clear protector thingies. The placement of the input and output jacks in proximity to the ac jack, sucks royally. Some of my patch cables that are right angles, don't even fit into it next to each other because they are too wide.

This pedal is absolutely amazing. I was at a music flea market in the area, and after hearing about it, I gave it a quick try, and walked out 20 dollars poorer, and one Milkshake happier. It's quality is as good as my Digitech MultiChorus ($80), and this one costed me $20 used. It's not as thick as the Digitech, and doesn't have any fancy options, but it is the milkiest chorus I've played, ever.

I am almost positive there is an analog chip in this pedal. It is so warm and inviting...it really thickens up your sound and adds depth. I liked the initial sound better than my Boss CE-5, it was VERY warm, but when I cranked the knobs around, it didn't have as much versatility as the CE-5. It won't do vibrato or flanging. It's a simple chorus that thickens up your sound, and my sole purpose of this review is to let everyone know how warm this sounds. I love analog, and I just might end up getting one because it's so inviting and good on the tone.

I don't own it personally, but I've tried them out in music stores and such. Sam Goody's doesn't have alot of selection, but they're one of the only music stores in town, so unfortunately I'm stuck trying out budget level gear. I own one Danelectro pedal (corned beef reverb), and it hasn't failed me yet. I'd expect the same reliability from the milkshake chorus.

I love the sound this pedal puts out. It's very warm, inviting, and thick. It's not as versatile as some chorus pedals are, but it gets the job done. My Boss CE-5 is apparently analog too; it's a very nice pedal...the chorus can go from murmuring detuned chorus (think "come as you are") to sparkly 80s chorus. Unfortunately my CE-5 doesn't have the warmth that this baby provides. Like I said, I may just buy one because of the warm, inviting, milky tone this pedal puts out.
If you're looking for a nice, simple chorus that doesn't contain any extra bells and whistles, the Danelectro Milkshake is a great (and non-expensive) alternative. I can't stress this enough. GREAT sound.

Blues, country, "classic rock, man" I've played a lot of other chorus pedals and this is not the be all and end all, however it does a really good job for the price. If I was buying a specific analog sounding chorus I would go for the H20 Visual Sound, it is a better long term investment and light years more sturdy. The Milkshake is a fun little pedal that will give you some good tones and I'll eventually dump it. Enjoy, don't read too much into it.

Plugged in my Marshall JCM TSL 602, the pedal does not alter the rich sound's colour of my amp while giving a great chorus effect. The latter is not complex, only a basic one but very sufficient for someone who has a quite limited use of it. I adore my Danelectro which gives me exactly the classic tone of a chorus. No need to turn many buttons (as the DOD "Ice" pedal) to reach the sound you look for. On "Nothing Else Matters", it sounds exactly like the orginal with the following setting: speed button at 13.00 and depth button at 11.00 .

As my pedal is brand new, I can't give a relevant opinion on this issue. Nevertheless, taking into consideration its plastic construction, I fear that the robustness is not its strength. So, probably too fragile to use on gig !

As I play rock (Guns and Roses, Metallica, Oasis, Rolling Stones, Radiohead ... )and pop music (Blur, Beatles, and other various artists), the DJ-7 totally fits into the kind of sound I like and fulfills my expectations. Especially in view of its price. Generally considered, the quality instruments (Gibson LP Std, Fender Strat US, Taylor accoustic guitar, Marshall lamp amp, various BOSS pedals, ...) I use broadly reflect the high expectations I have towards my gear. Of course, I would appreciate a metallic construction as the BOSS, DOD, Digitech, Marshall pedals... To conclude, let's go buying it !!!

Not exactly the best chorus I've ever heard. Not exactly evan one of the better choruses I've heard, but at $25 not bad at all.It doesn't have that real smooth sound of a good chorus, tends to have a little artificial wavy sound like your slightly out of tune almost.I only bought it cause I had joined a band(which I didn't stay with anyway)that had chorus on two of there songs.I didn't wan't to spend allot on a chorus as I don't care to use them in the first place(manly play strat into Vox wah into 50watt Marshall stack),so it seemed to sound good enough for two cover songs.

OK- I've had it for a year and some change. I've never abused it- and it gets used very little. It has developed a definate problem: if I use it for more than 15 minutes, the tones jumps to that "thing from space" sound I brought up earlier. It doesn't matter what setting I have it on- come 15 minutes, the sound starts getting progressivly strange until it becomes this detuned mess o' feedback. (And, yes, I changed the battery. In fact I tried 5 batteries and still got the same thing.

I've never been a fan of chorus, however, I heard a Boss CE5 Chorus Ensemble that had a nice clean, shallow shimmer to it (like a 12-string). I didn't want to spend the money on a Boss, so I went with the Milkshake, intending to upgrade. I was very pleasanly surprised when I set the speed around 10 o'clock and the depth around 11:30. It gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Even better, when I use it with my Big Muff (Russian) and DOD Harmonic Enhancer before it, I actually got a little bit of the Jimi Hendrix/Univibe sort of sound. I could get really crazy feedback and amazing presence through my Pignose G60VR tube combo! The Milkshake adds no noise to my signal, but does boost my signal ever so slightly when it is on.

I use this when I play with my band. Our style is modern rock a la Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc. Like I said earlier, I only use it in a couple songs. We do a cheesy Nirvana cover, in which I can get the watery "Come As You Are" sound, but I seldom use that setting.
I made the unfortunate mistake of trading it toward an Electro-Harmonix Small Clone when I wanted to upgrade. Don't get me wrong, the Clone is a good pedal, but a completely different beast; much warmer, less versatile (only a 2-way switch for depth), and thicker and thus it does not fit what I'm looking for. I recently tried out the Cool Cat, but it too seemed a little warm. I need to compare the Cat, the Clone, and the Milkshake side-by-side before I decide if I'm going back to the Milkshake or not.

Right now I use an Austin Strat through my little Peavey Rage or Fender Frontman. The chorus on this pedal is excellent for picking and doing your little solos in your bedroom or whatever. You can get a few different chorus settings by tweaking the knobs. The only one I dont like is when both knobs are set at 10. This gives it a weird space ship sound that is absolutley worthless unless you play experimental music. The quality of the chorus is decent for such a cheap pedal but some settings are very noisy. THe chorus sounds best when used by itself. I wouldn't think this pedal would be very great at a live show but it does work great for recording in your home studio.

I play in an Elvis show and use the pedal for a lot of the ballads and some of the slow tunes like "In the Ghetto". I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a pedal and needed one for a gig. I set it to give me a nice thinking lush chorus (the only setting I've found on the pedal) and leave it there. I will definately replace this box at some point but for the money it really is an excellent chorus. Yes, it does color your sound bypassed and is not transparent when engaged, but if your looking for those features you wouldn't be looking at the Dano mini pedals anyway so... I'm glad I got it. I've gotten my money's worth from it so far.

? In, Out, 9V optional in
? Comes packaged with a plastic protector, keep this on... pedal seems a little delicate for heavy stomping.

I use this with a Tom Delong stratocaster so i can have a fair clean tone and play it through a peavey bandit. I've only had this padal for about 3 days now and it has a pretty nice sound to it for the money, ( minus the fact of all the background noise. ) I like to play anywhere from Candlebox to Metallica and on, and it sounds good in clean, but a bit muddy in distortion.

This little pedal seems like it was built with tissue paper. I have had it for only a few days and after about and hour of playing it, the back fell off and the casing cracked. Mow everythie i play it for some reason there is a delayed distortion in the background. Im going to bring it back because of that. I'll try it again, maybe i got a dud, but it is terribly cheap feeling.
Along with that, the back of the little guy, (which you have to unscrew each time you change the battery) is terrible fit. It takes forever to get the back into place so the screw will go in the screw hole, then you have yo hassle with a screwdriver which none of them fit the hole.

If you are planning on using it lot and in comb. with other effects, save up for a Boss. If it were stolen... i would pay someone to steal it from me. I've been playing heavily for about 4 1/2 years I use this in comb. with a Boss Metal Zone, and Ibanez Delay/Echo and i keep them all together next to my mic. The Dan isnt even heavy enough to stay put on the ground. It floats around with the cords. Ughh

I use this pedal with my silvertone strat (with an EMG Select HB and
a single coil, south end of a gibson 500T and a vintage mini single coil.)
I also use a peavey rage 158, which is actually a very good 15w
amp....I've tested alot of other low wattage ams and they don't
really compare as well.
Sound? Very nice. Somewhat has some harmonics action thing going on.
Nice coloration of the tone....if you listen closely, it sounds like
1. harmonics in background
2. slightly a bit of flange
3. lots of reverb
So that's what *this* chorus sounds like.
It does in the dirty channel have somewhat alot of background noise....but it's not noticeable at low levels or if your playing.

I have found that the best setting is when both knobs are set around 4(speed and depth)- this setting seems to work really well with clean sounds. I have not heard any additional noise when turning it on. You can get some pretty funky sounds, which is cool but I don't know how usefull these sounds would be - this seems to be the case for MOST chorus pedals I have tested. Hey, for 20 bucks I have no complaints about the sound. Well, maybe one...I wish this thing had a LEVEL control to manipulate the amount of the effect, not volume. This seems to be missing on most, if not all, Dano MINIs.

For the money ($20) you can't go wrong. It is just AS USEFULL TO ME as other chorus pedals I have tried (boss, Ibanez, DOD). Keep in mind, money was NOT the deciding factor when I purchased this pedal. I just didn't see a huge difference when comparing to others. I also know that I'm not going to call on this (or any chorus) pedal for every song and situation. However, if you are a pedal freak, particularly chorus, and you play out a lot - I would probably consider looking at another chorus for flexibility and durability.
This would be a great inexpensive back up Chorus pedal as well.
If it were stolen or lost, I would empty my change jar and buy a new one.

This pedal is pretty simple to use and understand! There are no weird manuals to pour over or "programs" to set up. Two knobs (speed & depth) and an on/off switch...all pedals should be this easy! My model was demo model at my music store- so there was no manual included (or box).

I'm currently using the Dano Milkshake Chorus with a Fender Standard Strat and a Fender Princeton 65 amp thru the effects loop. The Dano sounds nice thru the Fender amp's effects loop. When you activate the pedal it kicks right in quietly (without any pops or crackles). There are no volume gains or losses when the pedal is used- it stays the same! The pedal does not alter the sound of the guitar or amp (example: no loss of treble or bass frequencies).
This is a very simple and basic chorus pedal that is a real value!
Reliability

Dano has cut corners by housing this chorus in a small (but neatly constructed)blue plastic casing. This is a "winnning situation" for guitar players that don't have to shell out big bucks for a chorus pedal anymore. The plastic seems very strong and durable-time will tell how this blue titan holds up.
I use it with a 9 volt battery- so I don't have to carry around another extension cord.
It will be used without a backup.

Compared to other chorus pedals this has a lot of "bang for your buck" due to it's reasonable price and sound.
If I could improve it-I would have used bigger knobs and the ability to slow down the speed a little more. But hey, for the price I can't complain too loudly!

Overall the chorus sound is very good. I'm comparing this to the other chorus pedals I have (or had), some of those include... Boss CE-1 (the original) 3 Boss CE-2 pedals (2 MIJ 1 Taiwaneese), Boss CE-5, Ibanez SC10, Nobels CH-D and lastly the Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus. So I do have alot of chorus pedals to use in comparison. Nice warm sound with no annoying noisy a** boost (like the Voodoo). The bad thing though is the fact that you can't effectively use it with Master volume type amps. If you do it's NOISY AS HELL!, kind of a whirling-type noise (very annoying). If you use it AFTER an Overdrive/Distortion it's about as noisy as any other non-bypass pedal.

Very simple controls, speed and depth. you have to play with it for a while to get a nice sound.

the range of sounds isnt the best. you have obnoxious flange like to nothing at all. ive heard a lot better chorus' for low prices. even the dod stereo chorus would work better. its not bad just for screwin around at home though. i like both knobs a little past 12 o clock.

i wouldnt use this thing live (mainly because of the sound) since its plastic. and a few days after i got it the pedal wouldnt turn on. it seemed that the danelectro battery started leaking! after i got it cleaned up it worked ok with a battery for a few days and now it will only work if the AC adapter is hooked up to it. it wont even bypass if it doesnt have juice!

I play anythin from punk to alternative. for clean sounds i like a little echo or chorus, just to make it interesting. the only thing this pedal is used for is jammin on my small 25w amp. im saving up to get danelectros big chorus, the cool cat(probably the best stereo chorus ive heard). danelectro mini pedals are generally not good, but there are a few that arent too shabby.

Lotus guitar through a Champion 110. NOT noisey, dammit, just use a battery and it'll sound just fine. Not a subtle chorus, in your face metallic chorus. Sounds good with phasers, wah, distortion, echo, reverb, envelope filter, and even with a bass it is pretty good. Rate knob is not too effective, its either fast or slow, but depth and rate together can make an interesting use.

Not broken yet, its plastic, but if you stomp hard enough to break it, metal or plastic wont help much. Also, seems better put together on the wireing than an Electro-Harmonix. Hey, its worked for about 4 months now and it hasn't broken yet.

There are a whole lot of pedals a lot worse for a lot more money. This will cover your basic chorus needs without breaking your already thin wallet.

I just want to say that I've read the other reviews in this category that said it is noisy. This thing is not noisy at all for me, clean or distorted. It sounds good.

Very reliable. I don't stomp my pedals (regardless of how they're made). My cousins' T-bone distortion pedal's electronics were messed up and we (just playing around) stomped hard on his gutted out pedal. It did nothing. I wouldn't recomend stomping pedals, but the point is, Danelectro's are strong. Very dependable if you don't stomp!

great sound. I'm playing it with a ibanez gio and a marshall 100watt,]
with a t-bone distortion (kicks ass) and a DOD multifx pedal. It totally kicks the DOD's chorus... crank up the depth and speed and slap on some distortion and you get some wierd shit coming out of your amp. I recon you can get some cool pumpkins and stone temple pilots sounds. what noise??? theirs no feedback...

I'm using it with a ton of effects, including fuzz, tremelo, flange, wah, pitchshift, whammy, envelope filter, delay, reverb, and of course the effervecent Gonkulator. A very good chorus, I haven't ran into the problems of noise mentioned below.. but that may be that i use 9v battery instead of adaptor. Very good sound, lush chorus. As another user said, it is NOT transparent. good as an effect, not as a subtle thing.. perfect for my odd rock heavy funky indie styles.

It's plastic and small, so who knows. I can live without chorus for a show, but I'd rather have it.

I have a LP copy and I have a Rouge 30 watt amp. When i use the chorus i run it into my DOD grunge, i like the sound i get. It may be an aquired taste though.
Its not a small clone or anything, but it does sound good i think.
It is slightly noisy.. I think it has to do with the power source being next to the cables on the pedal. When i run off of a battery its pretty quiet.

I know its plastic and all..
But see.. What do you people do with your pedals?
I just step on it to turn it on and off.
I've had it for 3 months now. Its holding up fine.
I can't see why anyone would stomp the hell out of a pedal anyway.
its fine.
Of course i would use it on a gig without a backup.

I've been playing for a year and if it was stolen i would probably buy another chorus pedal..like a small clone or something.
I like its price and sound..i don't hate anything about the pedal.
Its a great chorus for the price.. i think danelectrol did a good job.

The chorus sound can be altered to do some pretty weird and pretty crappy sounds. When I play with the depth knob craked I turn down the speed to a quater of the way up. With more speed I just reverse it. I use a Crate Gx80 and this pedal I found was not to noisy if anything it increases the clean tone but doesn't fair well with distortion.

But for you metal junkies (me too) this isn't the pedal for you.

This is a great chorus pedal. The first day I got it I came home and
got a great sound out of it, (especially for it to be as cheap as it
was.) There is no manual for it but what idiot needs one. There is a
booklet that came w/ it, however, which has a lot of Dano info. All in
all I love the pedal.

I do not feel like typing out my setup up. This pedal is not noisy at
all, but when the battery is low it has a fuzz to it. This little
sucker has great battery milage. I use this w/ my peavey audition 110
amp. The only problem I have w/ it is that it does not sound very good
w/ distortion. This is not to bad of a thing for me, seeing as how I
don't use it often w/ distortion. I just figured that other buyers might like to know that.

A lot of the reviews have a complaint about it being noisy. I must have gotten lucky because the one I bought is very quiet. It was between this and a Boss CH-1 and the deciding factor was this sounded quieter to me as well as having a cleaner, brighter sound. I use it with a Spector NS-6B (my favorite guitar ever!) and a Gibson ES330 through a Marshal DSL410. My only regret is that I didn't compare it with the Danelectro full size (CoolCat?) unit.

Time will tell if it is reliable, but if it quit on me I could get by. It seems quite durable for the cost, even though it has a plastic case. I am not afraid to use it live because I don't stomp my stomp boxes anyway.

I think this is a very good chorus for the money. As I mentioned, I chose it over the Boss CH-1 not because of the cost, but because of the sound. I also compared and choseit over chorus units by Ibanez, Voodoo Labs, Mashall and the chorus in the Zoom707GFX. I play mostly Christian rock, praise and worship music with it and it suits me fine. I only regret not comparing to the full size Danelectro unit. For the money, I would buy it again, provided I didn't just luck out and get a quiet one.

Uh, lots of people have complained that this thing is noisy but.. it isn't that much. I'm playing with a Jackson PS-4 out of a Crate GX-65, and its not that noisy for me. It adds clean character to my clean tone, which is really what I wanted. Doesn't sound that great with distortion, however.

I play bizzare oddball and sometimes heavy music (i.e. Mr. Bungle) and all I really wanted was something other than the droll boring clean tone I got with what I have right now, and this is suitable for that. And its cheap. My only real complaint is that it's not that great with distortion.
