Ease of Use : 7
easy to use if you know what you are doing. speed at nine, regen at 3:00 and width at 1:00.

Sound Quality : 6
subtle jet effects that don't overdo it. not quite as lush as the pepperoni phaser but that is good. too many flangers get too metallic. i like the warmth on an mxr model but the boss bf-2 if pry my all time favorite, has the best range. this is a good dick-around effect if you just want to have one.

Reliability : No Opinion
use a 9v power supply and batt. backup foo!

Overall Rating : 6
gives you decent warm flanges without decimating your tone, don't look for the metallic sound though - more like a week EH small stone without the phasing component, nice counterpoint to the dano mini phaser. overall it is a 6, a nice tool to play with.

3 knobs, speed, width and regen.
easy to get almost any flange sound out of it

Sound Quality : 8
you get very good bang for the buck on this one.
I dont give a 10 because it's still not a Boss but it's close enough

Reliability : 8
always there when you need it

never called

Overall Rating : 9
I play metal mostly, and it's great.
Been playing for 12 years.
I would buy again without a doubt.
I tried the Boss and Ibanez one...but at that price the Hash Brown is the best $/quality.

I use a Washburn with Seymore duncan dimebucker on a line6 Spider 210, with a Boss metal zone and a compressor it sounds great.

Easy as pie...er... hash browns. A couple turns of the knobs and its ready.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a cheap-o Johnson strat knockoff. A good guitar though. I play it through a 65 watt Kustom 1X12. It's sound rivals that of the built in flange. Its a little noisy when not being played, but for 30 bucks I cant complain. I love the peramiters. I can get all sorts of cracked out sounds.

Reliability : 8
Its plastic... hard plastic I guess... it hasnt broken yet....

Customer Support : 1
I dont think Danelectro has ANY employees AT ALL. I sent them a minor Email and got NO response.

Overall Rating : 9
I play classic rock. I use it to play Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" It works great with a lot of gain. Pretty. If it were stolen Id buy another. Its a very versatile thing. I wish it had built in distortion... that would be cool. ZEPPELIN RULES!

this is a very simple pedal to set up, especially on slower speeds, faster speeds were harder to dial in and I got a lot of bizarre resonance. Needs no manual. Only 3 knobs though. XLnt sounding.

Sound Quality : 9
I use strats, ibanez artist and various other axes. Will do Run Like Hell, Hear about it later, Barracuda etc.... Does not tend to do the radical scream noises like MXR flange unless pushed hard with overdrive. Like I said, only 3 knobs etc....

Reliability : 10
This unit is very dependable and I would gig with it. Being 250 lbs I am very careful with it. would go well on a strong pedal board.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Bought this in `99 from my good buds at Sunset Music in Temecula. CA. I would buy this again since the price is right and it is comparable with other flange units. WISH IT HAD 4 KNOBS LIKE THE MXR!!!!!!!!

Very easy to use. I had never play with a flanger before so the "Regen" knob was at first a mystery to me, but now it"s ok.
Danelectro should give a more detailed instruction sheet insted of a list of configuration for "other" mini-pedals!

Sound Quality : 9
I like the sound of this mini thing. It's deep and warm, sound really with clean guitar. My configuration was; Guitar - Crybaby - Hashbrows - Boss CE-1 - Boss HM-2 - small crappy amp. But the HM2 swallowed all the flanger effect, so I put the flanger at the end of the line. So now I can get that big airplane sound, and it is cool. I have only one demand; I would like to have a volume control knob on it.

Reliability : 7
It's plastic, so I take care of it. The knobs protector supplied with it could be usefull in live situations.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It's brand new! And works fine, so no dealing with them yet.

Overall Rating : 8
I play a lot of music styles, from blues to metal. I think the Hashbrowns can find its place everywhere, it is very versatile. Put a volume knob on it and it could be a nice little unit. If you don't want to put to much money on guitar effects, this mini pedal is a good deal!

Ease of Use : 9
This flanger is relatively easy to use. It doen't have a lot of controls - only what is needed. I have found that the controls are quite sensitive and it takes a bit of careful tweaking to get my idea of the ideal flange, but all in all not difficult at all.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a variety of guitars (Gibson, PRS, Fender, Washburn, etc...) with this pedal. As far as other effects go, I plug into an ernie ball volume pedal, a crybaby wah, the hash browns, and a line 6 MM4 before going to my amp, which is a Peavey transfex pro 212. There is virtually no noise added with this pedal when it's active or off and it sounds very good with my other gear. The sound is very lush and thick, but it doesn't rob your sound of any definition. It may be a little subtle for some people, but I prefer it's warmth to the metallic/jet-like sound of other flangers that I've had experience with (such as boss, digitech, and dod). It certainly has an analogue quality to it and it's very easy to get an Alex Lifeson/Andy Summers sort of sound with it.

Reliability : 7
Although the case is plastic, it has been reliable. The switch is silent and also very durable. I would kind of prefer that it had the same metal case as the cool cat etc..., but, for the price I guess that's out of the question, and, so far, it hasn't been an issue.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never needed to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for almost 25 years, and I have owned a lot of gear over the years. I have always been a bit of an effect junkie, so I've tried just about anything I could get my hands on. Overall, this is an amazing piece of gear regardless of the price. In fact, I bought this pedal on a whim because it was so cheap and I was going to use it to tide me over while I put some money aside for an EH electric mistress. Well I ended up getting the EH, and tried to convince myself for 6 months that it sounded better than the hash browns (after all, it cost three times the price!), but when I put the danelecro back in the chain a did an A/B test I actually preffered it! My electric mistress is now back in it's box waiting to be traded in on the next effect. So, although this seems to be aimed at begginers that don't have a lot of money to spend on effects, the bottom line is that the sound quality is equal to, or better than other units with much higher price tags.

I've own other flanger pedals before this one, so there's no problem here.

Sound Quality : 9
I've own this thing for 3 months before writing this review. The flanger effect seriously sounds great, I can feel it's warmth, plus it can do a nice chorus sound (better than the boss ch1 I've own and sold) and phaser sounds too. You can easily get great sounds out of it, flanger sounds very good with distortion too.

Reliability : No Opinion
So far no problems, but I get very scared everytime I plug the big guitar cable heads into the smally plasticy holes.

This thing is a real fantastic value! I really don't know how dano is able to put in such great sounds with just so little money. But here's the catch, I've put it on sale. Why? Because this little sucker SUCKS MY TONE! It's very noticable for me the moment I put it in my chain, but I'm a tone freak though, a little tiny weeney change in my precious tone will piss me off terribly. I've compared putting a Boss pedal in my chain instead of the dano flanger and I don't notice any tone sucking. But the dano flanger made my sound dry, most people won't care about this little tone suckage but I do mind. Even though this is really a fantastic value for a flanger.

Ease of Use : 10
I have had a flanger pedal before this, so i know exactly how "speed, regen and width" means. Nonetheless, it is very easy to get a good sound out of it because this "little giant" just sounds so damn good with any settings.

Sound Quality : 9
Here's what. I really have to agree with the glowing reviews. It sounds damn good for a little amount of money. It's not particular noisy and it sounds very good with my distortion. One thing I have to point out is, I sort of think this alters my tone a little little bit, I'm very paranoid about my tone. Sometimes when I find it alters my tone a bit, I put it away then next day I put it back in my setup, it dosen't seem to affect my tone. Well, it's just me only anyway. I could not give it full marks because of this.

Reliability : No Opinion
You bet I can depend on it. The whole plastic thing does not scare me at all, because I don't stomp on flanger pedal, I only stomp on my EQ or distortion. Stomping on flanger pedal looks wierd when performing, doesen't it? While stomping on distortion pedal looks cool as you change from clean sound to distortion sound, it gives the feeling. imho though. I have to use this for a longer period of time to give a judge on realibity.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
This is certainly the best bang for the buck. I would recommend anyone to give this a try. It dosen't always mean you get what you pay for, there are always exception, and this is one!

Easy - a few moments fiddling gets usable sounds, then tweak to taste

Sound Quality : 8
I love it. Gets the mono room-pan as well as my Ibanez Time Mcahine rackmount. Very quiet. No significant tone coloration when off. I have four mini-pedals in a row in the case and am happy with all of them. Playing a Thinline and Strat through a homebrew Deluxe, which loves these little guys.

Reliability : 7
All my mini-pedals (the oldest is more than a year old) have been fine. They're cheap, and if they break subject to normal use Dano seems good about replacing them. Had no problems with these. They chew batteries, though. Some people who complain about weird distortions and no sound have just pushed their batts too far.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A although they seem good about replacing them when they fail.

Overall Rating : 8
I'd say this even if it wasn't cheap. A great sounding effectize. I have the mini-case and it's much smaller and slimmer than the Boss BCB6 I just sold. I'm waiting for the chorus and then I have my set.

easy to use once you get to know what the knobs are for. it took me about 10 minutes to get the hang of it.

Sound Quality : 10
Its my first flanger- so I'm not comparing it to anything. But I am giving it a 10 cause it sounds that damn good to me. I dont get alot of noise as others have said. I do hear a little whoosh- but really not enough to worry me- even with high gain. good different sounds too. it does the jet, and can do the watery sound on the intro to anyerism by Nirvana...I know i spelled that wrong-sue me

Reliability : 7
its a mini, so dont stomp the crap out of it...if it were in metal case-I would've give it a 9

Customer Support : 10
I know for a fact that they are very friendly and helpfull- theyll hook you up with a new one if it malfunctions unless its split into where you super stomped it

Overall Rating : 10
It sounds awsome for metal. i know you cant use it all the time- but for now i'm having too much fun to turn it off. i really like the sound of this box. i dont use alot of effects- distortion and occasionally a wah or delay. but i think i'll always have a flanger in my chain for now on.
