This distortion pedal is 5 types of distortion pedal in one just by changing the EQ Select. Then it has all the normal distortion controls you can use such as Level, Tone, Distortion, and a super cool option to adjust the mix of your dry signal and the distorted signal. On top of that it has a pickup selector switch to adjust for your pickup-type (has humbucker-off-single modes)

Another great feature of this pedal is the boost switch, which acts as a clean boost switch (works with distortion on or off!!!), and there is a switch to adjust for a 5db or 10db boost.

Sound Quality : 7
The sound coming out of this pedal reminds me of a mix between a Rat and a MXR distortion. The distortion sounds good and can work better with classic rock. It does not clean up well, and requires an OD pedal to give it sustain. This pedal could have been better if the boost switch was replaced with an sustain feature. This is one of those pedals you will either really like or just have that ahhh...it's ok feeling. I replaced this with a Digitech Hot Rod Distortion, and am much happier. If you really want the best I would suggest looking at the Tonebone Hot British or Maxon ROD 881...they are more expensive for a reason...TONE.

Don't know I sold it

Again it is an ok pedal...It just didn't fit the setup I was looking for.

I bought this unit because I had credit on a return and wanted to use it up. I looked down and it was sitting there so I said what the heck. I love my cool cat and hey every pedal has at least one use, if only as a paper wieght and a reminder to not recommend it.
This pedal blew me away when I pluged it in. I used it on my OE-30 first and it just cried the blues. Fattened up the tone boosted the signal and cleaned up the highs. Much like an Aurel Exciter might do.
The reason I give it an 8 for ease of use is the number of subtle variation that can be achieved with this one device. Some are not as good as others, but that may be a preference/ear thing. No guide, and the lettering on the controls is small for an old geezer like myself.Seems I need read with the nob labels my glasses and a flashlight. Even then, after a while, i might wear the type off just from use.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this with an OE-30 semi holowbody with dual humbuckers, Ampeg ReverbRocket (212R), Beringer v series 30 watt practice amp(great amp for practicing by the way) Schecter C1 Classic (2003/2004 model) Lotus Les Paul copy (early 80's), US 101 Strat, Dunlop Cry Baby wah, Pod 2.0, Cool Cat Chorus, variuos rack mount items... and so on. There is no percievable noise added by the wasabi, and while it doesn't exactly distort as an MXR or even the Line^ Podcmight (and I prefer MXR for that)It does overdrive like a tube amp might. It also overdrives in a way that does not sound so digital as other devices do. If I use my tude preamp before this effect it down right Grrrrrrrowls.

I could hammer nails with this thing
Rock solid as most DE product seem to be.
The nobs might be a little dicey if you were unduely rough on them, but... why would you do that. and as for a back up, I have thought I should get another on because the first one is so F*#('n killer I would hate to be without it for my sound

The people at DE that i met at NAMM wer great and I trust the support would be as good

I play dark funky horror music(hell I don't know what to call it but it's certainly original) I have been playing for 30+ yrs and have extensive stage and studio experience. If this thing was stolen i would get a new one and beat the thief with it to get my old one back.
For rich clean tones this thing is priceless. For NUmetal or NUpunk look somewhere else. For blues, jazz, funk and country this box rules.
Wish it had a manual explaining all of DE's weird naming architecture(sp). Love it, Love Dan Electro, I'm out tom buy some more DE products.

These are brand new out from danelectro. When u buy an effect pedal from dano u usually get a very simple pedal that does its job sufficiently without being overly complex. That is definatly not the case here. This pedal has eight editable perameters, a very god EQ and some nice touches. Because of all the options expect to spend some time fiddling and tweaking it to suit ur setup.

Sound Quality : 8
I have a les paul(epi) classic and a mexican strat. I play these through a tubescreamer and a cry baby wah and my main amp is a spider2 from line six. This pedal seemingly adds no extra backround noise although at high volume and high gain you can get it to overdrive and feedback.

The effects are hard to sum up as this is such a versatile pedal. There is a switch to match your pickups to the pedal that let you boost for singlecoils and all the other controls have a huge impact on the sound. I have managed to get some very good tones out of this. It covers classic rock superbly getting tones similar to a mesa and by drying up the signal and adding more bass you can create very nice blues warm sustaining drive.(No fuzz Though)

On eof the pedals main strengths is the additional boost which can be set at 5 or 10db. This can make a huge difference. By engaging the boost on its own you can add volume and sustain to clean clead without colouring the sound to heavily.

WARNING THIS PEDAL DOES NOT DO METAL. Unfortunatly if you are looking for ultra high gain such as the insane channel on a line six or a boss mt2 it is not there. If however u do like me own a spider this is a must cause it has all the tones the spider is poor at. Namely classic crunch and blues and is also very useful as a boost for solo's.

Reliability : 10
When i got it home it worked for only four minutes before squeelin and dying however this was the crappy dano battery inside. No it runs on duracell its great. Very solid metal case and as heavy as the music it creates. I would either get a power supply or take a spare batery for gigging although if u operate pedals and dont already do this you are a brave son of a gun.

Combined with my rig this has added many useful tones that seemed pretty illusive. I have had many pedals but none that have done this. I love the warm sound when the signal is dry and i love the harsh acdc crunch when wet. Endless combinations of sound that arnt grainy and digital sounding(such as many multi effects these days)

The only thing i wish it had was a manual with some tones to try to get u off to that flying start but who wants to be a tone clone anyway. Presets are made to be tweaked.

Go try one now! Please dont steal mine.
