level, bass, treble, gain, 3-way switch for mid control, selectable sub-octave. You can end up tweeking it a lot but the more you use it the easier it gets.

Sound Quality : 10

Balls-out high-gain tones are all this pedal does! Know that before you buy one.

I was very impressed with the blue paisley pure drive and so I had to get the black paisley liquid metal to see if it was as cool. It is. This is one of the best high gain pedals out there. Much better than the boss metal zone. I like it at least as well as my metal muff.

The three way mid switch is the key to tonal variety. I liked the tone with the mid boost on and the bass cranked sounds huge but still cuts through. The scooped setting is great for palm muting and the flat setting is great for just kickin' out raw jams.

The sub octave is analog and must track your notes so you're limited to single notes or power chords, but it is so SATANIC it's cool!

Thr gain vs. clarity of this pedal is very impressive and the noise floor is also quite low for the amount of distortion it gives.

If you're looking for one pedal that does it all don't even consider this pedal. This pedal does 100 variations on one sound. That sound is evil satanic heavy metal and it does it well. The blue paisley pure drive does the tube screamer thing and a lot more so most players would be happier with that but when you need to get some metal in your diet this is hard to beat.

These are built like the older large metal danelectro pedals not the new little plastic ones.

I love this pedal. I don't think these ever had a proper release in the United States but they seem to have been a regular part of the danelectro line in Europe. In fact the manual gives a contact address in the UK.

If you like noise, industrial, metal, experimental, post rock you could find a use for this. If you like stevie ray, robben ford, lary carlton and all that kind of sacharine pablum you will hate this box.

the controlls are easy enough to use. the one probelem is that the octave switch is really hard to get at, specially if you are wanting to turn it on fast.

distortion, distortion and more distortion!!
unfortunately thats all it can do, ive only managed to conjure up crazy metal tones with it. it cant do soft distortion at all. awsome for mettlers, not so good for the rest of the world.
amazing sustain.

The four basic knobs are easy to adjust and so is the 3 way midrange selector. The only awkward switch is the octave dropper which is on the back of the pedal, not the face. This makes it very difficult to get at when playing.

Sound Quality : 9
I run a USA Hamer Vector or a USA Hamer Special through a small but kick ass Fender Bronco. This pedal has a wide variety of distortion, all nasty. At first I was not impressed with the octave dropper because I was playing chords, then I started to play lead and the thing really kicked into insane mode. The midrange switch provides a wide tonal range from bright, heavy to very bassy. I prefer it in the middle mode. The thing that surprised me most with this pedal is the sustain. WOW. It will carry a note a half hour after you put your guitar away. A nice added bonus.

Reliability : 10
Made of metal and built like a tank. Should withstand most situations.

Customer Support : 8
Believe it or not, I have actually talked to a real human being on the phone. I left a message and they called back the next day. They could really improve their website as it is lacking.

Overall Rating : 10
A real serious metal pedal that can stand with any of the big boys. Trouble is this pedal had a limited release of maybe 3 years and most of them were issued only in England. All most imposible to find new in the USA. I got lucky and found one used on ebay and for only $35. If you are into heavy metal you really can't go wrong. If you are into other types of music, you would be better of with something else.

This pedal is very easy to get to grips with.you have full tonal control capable of creating any kinds of distortion from vintage 80's metal to a banshee of shredding death.

Sound Quality : 8
Pinch harmonics are not very well excentuated which is the only flaw that i have found but they may be due to the volume im playing at. Im playing an ESP Ltd MH-250 through the pedal and into a 5150 and the tones are incredible, no matter how its set you cannot make this pedal sound bad

Reliability : 10
never had a problem

good sound, good design, no manual.......so it must be better thatn sex!!

Sound Quality : 10
i use a vintage vs6 sg guitar (copy version of the gibson 1968 reissue sg)marshall 50 watt something? It sounds good on all settings no matter what style you play (besides gay pop)! this has to be the most incredible sound ive ever heard (better than the sound my girlfriend makes in bed) i find that i can get that sound the band seether portray in there disclaimer album, which can be heavy at most parts.

Reliability : 10
unlike my girlfriend, who i cant rely on sex every time i want, this babe will say yes what ever the time, and screams for more. it will never crash.....maybe after 5000 gigs.

i bought it through mb music and i had to wait 3 months for it coz it was out of stock, and every week thay told me it would be delivered soon, but it was worth the wait

Yeah, its easy if you want mass distortion. I mean twist any knob and it distorts like hell.

Sound Quality : 10
I've tried it through a mesa with 6L6's, an ES 335 studio with 500T's, and it distorts. It's like a fuzz box on crack. The distortion knob goes from massive distortion to uncomprehensible square wave with about 100,000 harmonics. The "scoop" setting is a bit more mellow. Turn up the bass knob, and get more distortion. Turn up the treble knob and I don't know what it does because after about 9:00 it goes from WTF is this, to WTF is this don't break my amp. The switch in the middle has a "boost" setting that has this Jesus and Mary Chain woops I just broke the reverb pan, and oh yeah my tubes are starting arc effect. And finally it has an "Octave" switch, this is a bit cool, I haven't quite figured it out yet, I'm guessing it supposed to make it sound like you are playing an 8th, but for some unknown reason it delays as well... Oh yeah, the by-pass switch actually by-passes the signal, no tone loss whats so ever. Very nice.

Reliability : No Opinion
It's made out of metal. Inside looked like solid state hell, but so does every other effect on the market.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I just bought it. The battery ran out immediatly, but at least it comes with a battery. I guess thats what they mean by Danelectro "vintage" battery.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played TS9's, TS808's, EH Big Muff, RAT, some other fuzzes and overdrives. The liquid metal is the most fun. Especially, since it was on clearance sale (the paint job alone is worth about $40, mine is black paisly). I just can't justify paying over $50 bucks for a stupid ass pedal. At the same store the TS9 was going for $150, total rip off. If you are looking for vintage crunch, find a Morely Distortion One, otherwise get this for pure metal chaos.

Easy knob twiddling.

The most outragous high gain pedal on the planet. It starts out high gain in the 1 position and by the time it is turned up all the way ,it sings forever. The chording is clear as the treble and bass is well balanced with no mud.Single notes sustain from here to the moon with clarity. The sound is unique as it has it's own voicing pattern. Not good for blues but all other hard rock genres must apply.A very fun pedal.49.95 at Guitar Center.

Reliability : 10
Built Danelectro tough.

I once sent a broken pedal to them and they sent me back a new one.

Play Rock and blues for 35 years,Les Paul through a Peavey Ranger, and really like the long sustain I get, very liquidy.

Straight forward..only a few knobs and a 2way toggle switch..footswitch maybe a little too small.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this through the clean channel on my amp and get a great sound. Can go pretty damm loud with the distortion. It has a great live sound. With the vboost/scoop switch you can get a sort of live/in your face distortion to a passive 'line 6 spider' insane mode distortion. Its as expected good for metal etc but i also get a great sounding tone when playing some old-skool metallica off kill 'em all live. Its great for blasting out some 'four horsemen' and 'hit the lights'

Reliability : 10
Ive never had a problem with it.seems to be built pretty well. I can use it at a gig without shitting myself that its gonna crash out on me. so i guess its damm good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem

Overall Rating : 10
Its a great damm pedal. upon purchasing this i also tried out some others to see where it compared (the hughes&kettner warp factor, ibanez tubescreamer, boss mega distortion, digitech metal master) and in my opinion this kicked all of their asses.
I use this live with me all the time, adn this would definately change my trademark tone if i was without one of these. Perfect fro metallica, pantera and all metal butversitile enough to cover guns n roses and acdc. this is a winner!

Fairly straightforward to use, bass, treble, distortion volumn ,boost/scoop toggle and octave swith on back.

Sound Quality : 1
Brand new release by Danelectro. When played through the clean channel on a mesa and Marshall this thing sucks tone like no-ones buisness, the signal breaks down and the distortion knob has little or no effect on the sound.
You are left with a very nasty nasal effect which despite much knob widdling you cannot alter.
I can only assume mines come from the manufacturer faulty as no one can make a pedal this bad.

Reliability : 1
My example must be faulty ( see above).

Customer Support : No Opinion
See above.Mines going back to the shop.I will give the replacement a try if not will exchange for another manufacturer like Boss.

Overall Rating : 1
Have been playing for 30 x years and this is the worst bit of kit Ive ever bought by a mile.
