Tubescreamer with much more tonal control. Like a tubescreamer that can morph into every tube screamer clone and hybrid ever made.

Sound Quality : 10
Just what the world needs another tube screamer copy! While it's doesn't copy the circuit the tone is very close indeed. I've got a lot of variations on the tubescreamer in my pedal arsenal from unmodded ibanez screamers and super tubes to analogman, cusack and other boutique variations. While not quite as smooth as the cusack it offers a lot more versatility and is certainly in the boutique realm in terms of tone and clarity. It has the sweetness of the analogman silver, but not the smooth thickness of the cusack.

This pedal has no mid hump if you don't want it, but you can have it if you like it or you can even scoop the mids for the more modern tones (no other tube screamer does that). Most people who know tube screamers either love or hate the traditional screamer mid-hump. I love it on single notes and arpegios but I hate it on rhythm because it makes the chords sound thin and nasal. That's why i say it is like a tube screamer swiss army knife you can tweek it to fit the style and situation instead of bringing 10 overdrive pedals along.

This is in the old style large metal housing like the dan-echo etc...

This is a pretty rare pedal since it was never properly released in the USA. I think exchange rates versus unit cost is the reason. A pound is worth about 2 US dollars, and these sell for about 50 pounds. No way they could sell them for $100 is the USA. I think the danelectro brand is a little more respected in europe where they didn't have the vintage Danelectro guitars. In the US Danelectro is synonymous with cheap.

Did I mention this looks cool! The Black Paisley Liquid Metal is great to and looks even cooler.

its purty easy to get a great OD blues tone
manual is bad terrible

Sound Quality : 9
its my favorite blues OD pedal to date.
I have tried a lot of BOSS pedals including the mesa boogie tube pedal.
i don't think the pedal is noisy at all
i hook it up to my SUPER REVERB, which is very quiet.
I like a crunch OD sound actually. this does produce a somewhat crunch but is mainly a smooth OD blues pedal. I'll have to try some of the MARSHALL pedals. For $30 how can you complain about the pedal. I think it sounds much better than the IBANEZ TS-9, which i sold.
man, i have had so many pedals. I like that you can cut the MID RANGE on this thing. I think that really adds to the pedal. The pedal can produce a OD using the single/humbucker knob. I dial in the OD using this knob and then using the OD knob, i can smooth it out. I can't complain about this pedal. I don't understand why it didn't become more popular. o welll......... i've got one

still ticking

I'm a blues guy and classic rock. I think this is the only type of music to listen to. RAP is awful and should be banned !!!!. Would i buy another ?? yes, i would.
I love that i can dial in a smooth OD or a slightly crunch tone.
I like that i can CUT the MID range. I have compared this to other products, its my favorite at this time.

This pedal is pretty easy to use. There are four (of what seem to be) silicone-dampened knobs (nice feel!) and a 3-way switch. The manual is a slip of paper and not very informative, but I didn't need it anyway. The salesperson at Guitar Center said that great tones could be had by tweaking the knobs a bit, and he was right. I nailed my sound within a few minutes.

I got a kick outta the cute supplied battery "Danelectro Vintage Power Source". Too bad it was dead. I think it had been sitting a while. I have some rechargeable 9v batteries, so no prob.

Sound Quality : 7
I own only one guitar - a Jackson PS6T explorer-style with the stock pickups. I run that into an Ibanez P-7 phaser, to the Blue Paisley, to a little Marshall 15w amp. Turning any of the knobs clockwise adds some noise. But when I dialed in the sound I wanted, the knobs weren't up very high and I don't get much noise. The 3-way switch is for mid boost, off, or cut. I use the off and cut positions only. The boost is a lot and probably has a use, just not in my rig. I'm giving it a 7 because I'm a noise snob.

This thing is built like a tank. It's quite heavy and all metal. I don't see a need to carry a backup of this thing. It's one of the sweetest-looking pedals I've seen.

I got this pedal on sale at Guitar Center for $29.99, down from $99.99. It was the last one and they wanted to clear the space I guess. I got a great deal.

I play electronica... experimental stuff, for which I have a slew of other processors for. Although overdrive doesn't have much room in this genre, I just love the sound of it - if even just for my own kicks.

I've not compared it to any others. It has a sound I find pleasing and authentic and that's all that matters to me. I wish it was a little quieter. I love the sound, the looks, and the construction of this thing.

I think there's a Black Paisley (distortion). I'll have to get that.

You have to tweek alot with this pedal but theres some great tones in there. The manual is useless just start playing with it.

Sound Quality : 10
Great sound, not very noisey ,keeps the sound of your amp just gives it a nice kick in the butt. Not a metal or distortion type sound in this pedal it really is a pure overdrive.Lots of clean gain ,works well with your guitar vol knob.Mid boost or cut changes the sound completly, like having three different pedals. The single coil to humbucking knob is not a bass boost at all ,I'ts a subtle mid boost that helps you find your amps sweet spot.Very effective.

Reliability : 10
Seems like it's built like a tank.

I play jazz, fusion, blues, country, and rock .I 've been playing for 35 years, have some nice old tube amps and this pedal works great with all of them.I also play for my worship group at church with a JStation into the board.Nothing to great sounding but we ca'nt have a back line.I,ve actually started to use this pedal with the J Station instead of switching to a different pad and it sounds great.

A new pedal released By Danelectro and trying to find information on it is next to impossible.I picked this up in a Guitar Center in California but they were mostly sold in the U.K.It is versatile with lots of knobs to twiddle and starting with the basic Level,Tone,Drive and a pickup selecter knob that says single on one side and hum on the other. This really acts as a Bass knob so nothing magical there but very helpful in sculpting your sound. There is a 3 way selector switch that goes from boost to midrange to cut and these are basic frequency functions.I prefer the cut as it gives the most natural overdrive sound and used with the eq it has a full round sound.

Sound Quality : 10
A bit noisy using a Strat through a Vox Cambridge 30.Sound is excellant for a rich overdriven amp sound.Humbuckers get a bit buzzy with better sustain but a Strat is recommended as this is not a high gain pedal.

Reliability : 10
These pedals are designed like the Daddy o and Danecho bodys and are built to last.

Very helpful.I sent a broken Danelectro delay pedal back for repair and they sent me a new one with no charge.Wonderful co. to deal with!

Overall Rating : 10
I play blues and rock for 35 years and this fits in just fine.I like the natural overdrive sound with a good balance between bass and treble. There is no piercing high treble or muddy bass sound with this beauty. It has a midrange switch that I don't use but it's there if needed.Recommended!
