Probably the most usable Fuzz-Distortion I have ever heard, and I've heard them all. Absolutely stomps on a vintage Fuzz Face. If you're into unusual Fuzz pedals, you must seek this one out! It compares favorably to my Z-Vex Fuzz Factory, but much simpler. Everyone in my band thinks this is better than the Fuzz factory, it will get you heard. Very analog sounding, and natural for a Fuzz.

Mine is about 20 years old, these pedals are very rare, I bought it used a few years ago, and it has never let me down!

DeArmond hasent made this pedal since the 1970's, so I'm glad I wont need customer support for this.

Perfect for 60's and 70's rock, I don't know what I'd do if this was lost/stolen.

This pedal has a unique fuzz/distortion sound that I love and have never encountered in any other pedal (and I've tried lots of them). I have to admit that I use my Fulltone Fulldrive-2 and various POD settings more frequently than this pedal these days. But, for certain things, only this pedal will suffice. I've used it mostly with Fender amps and teles (and it does a GREAT job of de-shrilling a high-cranked tele bridge pickup---no mean feat!). The pedal is not noisy, but I really do dislike the tone-damping effect it has when not employed. In other words: don't put this in your signal chain, unless you intend to use it---it sucks tone in the "off" position.

I bought it used in 1980, have gigged with it extensively and abused it horribly. It is completely bomb-proof.

A fantastic and unique pedal. I just wish I could leave it in my signal chain.

Works like any other pedal. Volume & Distortion. Does not have a tone knob. Seems happiest full up on both knobs.

Sound quality is perfect. Warning to folks with amps from the 80's or above. This is'nt for you. This is strictly for folks with a woofy or heavy midrange amp who may want a different sound from time to time. It may sound good with a pro-junior..

Always can depend on it. Never once failed and always sounds the same with a fresh battery. One thing though. Some people would argue that there is no sonic difference in batteries. This one will prove you wrong. Its almost two different pedals using an old Everready or new Duracell copper top. Its almost like a tube-rectifier vs solid state. The duracell would be a solid state with higher highs and tighter bottom.

Its sound is'nt terribly unique. What this does is gives you another sound, and its a very good sound. If you enjoy mostly a bluesy amp or heavy midrange amp most of the time but once in a while want to get a little more treble bite (not heavy on midrange or bass) and more of a traditional rock tone than check one out today!
