Two knobs.

This has to be one of the thickest phasers ever. If you want analog phasing then you got it. It's also one of the very small number of vintage analog phasers that you can turn up the phasing without getting all swishy. Swishy phasers are great but sometimes you don't want that.

I love it when some weird old pedal turns out to also sound fantastic. I own over twenty vintage phasers and this one ranks right around the top!

Reliability : No Opinion
I think that it has never been used before me, or used very lightly. And it seems to be very sturdy and well built. So far it has been reliable and I'd think that it will continue to be. But a backup? I think that I and the other guy who reviewed one back in 1997 have the only two! Or maybe I acquired his somehow?

Seriously?

I'm glad that I came across this one. It is old but is in mint condition. It looked beat up when I bought it, but it was just dust and grime that actually protected the finish wherever it sat unused all these years. I spent about sixty seconds with some paper towel and Windex and it came out looking like it just left the box. The inside is just as clean, and boy this thing has a lot of wires and stuff inside! More than any other phaser pedal that I've seen.

This phase shifter has just two controls intensity and rate. the intensity is marked mellow and deep . the rate is min and max. Didn't come with a manual being a pawn shop special but there is no need for one. You do have to remove the bottom screws to install the 9v battery. you just twirl the dials until you get the sound you want.

Sound Quality : 10
Here is where it shines. Pure analog phasing. very warm and full, I realy didn't find any settings I didn't like. Although there are some that realy sing. You can get a realy great Leslie like sound at the slower rates and by playing with the intensity. you can go from very subtle to very pronounced with out finding any bad sounds. its a very cuiet (for the period) analog effect. also it doesnt have that metalic swishy sound that many of the digital pedals have.

Reliability : No Opinion
: I realy don't know, it's about 20 some years old and in mint condition, so may have been in the closit and not used for all those years. I would get a back up just to have if I ever come across another one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
: well it hasn't been made for a long time so I doubt if there would be any.

I got it as a christmas gift; my sister found it in a pawn shop, Thank God for sisters. If I can find another I'll buy it in an instant. Irealy like almost every thing about it except having to remove the bottom to replace the battery. I A/B' ed it with a Boss Super phaser and a Dod , although the others had more knobs, they couldnt compair sound wise.
