It's a tuner. It works as it should, almost.

Sound Quality : 5
Claims that it's true bypass, but it isn't. Well actually it is, if you don't use the mute function. If you use the bypass output, it is true bypass, but if you use the mute output it's not. Deceiving advertising at the least.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems well built, but I did have to stick a screwdriver in to help the input make contact. You really shouldn't have to do that, but it worked.

Does not tune a low B on bass very well, even has a hard time on a low E. It seem s to like 12th fret harmonics better. Takes far longer than the competitor models do. I'm giving it to my guitar player.

easy as pie to use. on/off switch (w/ true bypass), one input jack, 2 out. one is a direct out and the other mutes your signal while tuning. you can change the settings to work with flat tunings/ different pitches with the push of a button. seems to be very accurate and much easier to see than the boss tu-2, and for the price, who can beat it?

Sound Quality : 8
running it with a epi dot/ fender strat >tuner>gcb 95> ds-10> dd-3> amp. truly mutes that ds-10 distortion box while tuning, however, i do detect some noise when the leds light up. not much, but enough to keep this from getting a 10.

Reliability : 10
seems pretty solid

never dealt with them.

pretty nice tuner, excellent price. bought it to get away from using the old boss tu12-h sitting on top of the amp (kinda hard to see)

This is a standard floor tuner. Just plug in and get to work. It really is that easy. There is a manual, with expanations and features and such. It has a cool feature that lets you use flat tunings with just a push of a button. Also you can change the reference frequency, if you mess with stuff like that, it can be referenced in the manual. When you instument is in tune...TWO lights come on, no foolin' you will know when you are in tune. The lights seem to stay on longer than a certain rack-mount tuner I have, as the note trails. It also has a reminder so you can remember to unplug your cable so your battery does not lose life.

I guess the best compliment of all is that the PT-13 does not make any noise. I run it in between my guitar and amp, and I get no noise...that's good right? It has a bypass jack and a direct jack so you can mute the sound while tuning.

Reliability : No Opinion
So far the PT-13 has been great. It seems there was a lot of effort into making it. It sits well along the other professional gear on my floor board. The foot swith is easy to stomp. This thing gets stepped on a lot over the course of my day, and I do think it will do it's job for me for as long as I want it to work.

I have had some interaction with the company, Dean Markley, and they have been quite friendly and out going. I have not needed them for tech support, however. I will update that when I encounter it. Their contact information is on the manual if you need them.

I have been playing music for a long time. I have used, as a tuner, anything from a another guitar, piano, a pitch pipe, floor tuners, and rack mount tuners. The PT-13 is the first pro grade floor tuner I have owned. I was in the market for a floor tuner, and a friend recommended this pedal to me and I am rather happy with it. Perhaps a floor tuner does not get the glory other pedals that make cool noises, or amps that push the air, but I am recorded everyday along with playing live, so I need to be in tune ALL THE TIME, so that is why a floor tuner is getting the glory today.
