Ease of Use

If you haven't played death by audio pedals, you should know that they tend to push the components to the extreme edges of their operating range, sometimes resulting in areas of the knob arc which sound the same, and areas where a minute tweak will change the sound entirely. The Octave Clang is actually better about this than some of the others, but still takes some getting used to, and takes some time to find the right sound.
Sound Quality

Like most DBA pedals, this thing is hard to describe, and sounds awsome if you are into noise, and want an octavey, ring-mod type sound. It might be easier to compare it to another DBA pedal, the harmonic transformer. I think the Octave Clang is both more musical and more versatile. I'm pretty sure this is true-bypass.
Also like most DBA pedals, it sounds best through (and was probably made for) a tube amp, and will sound sickeningly harsh through most solid state gear.
Reliability

Components are solid. The stomp switch is especially so.
Customer Support

Oliver provides lifetime support for his pedals, and builds them with solid components. He will mod most pedals to your specifications, which is going a lot further than most botique manufacturers.
Overall Rating

I play noisey guitar and bass, and this pedal works well with both.
I have a foxx tone machine, which approaches the tamer edges of the octave clang sound, but this pedal really gives you a palate of unique sounds, which only the best botique pedals can. I compared it to the harmonic transformer, various Z-Vex and Effector13 pedals.
Effector13 pedals in general seem less intuitive, with fewer usable sounds; although Z-Vex makes some great stuff, not that much of it really aligns with the over-the-top wall of noise aesthetic that I am looking for, the closest comparison, then, was the DBA Harmonic transformer, and I think again the Octave Clang wins out for a unique range of strangely musical sounds.
