3 knobs, Gain, Tone & Level. Super simple.

Sound Quality : 6
It really depends what your rig is like. With a Gretsch 5120 and an Epiphone Valve Jr., it's great. With my stage rig, not so great - primarily Ibanez through a Shure PGX wireless, Sabine tuner, dbx comp/gate/limiter, Screaming Demon wah, DeltaLab TD1, ModTone Speedbox, Boss CE-2, into the front end of a 6505+, then back out in the loop through the second channel of the dbx, DigiTech DSP-128, ModTone analog delay, EH LPB-1 boost, and return. I got this pedal looking for something dirtier than the 6505's clean channel, but not so saturated as the dirty channel. In this rig, even with the level dimed I lose volume, and regardless of settings it adds a ridiculous amount of noise, even with the dbx gating. The overdrive is also rather thin and fizzly sounding to my ear, and extremely high & low frequencies disappear.

So, I don't use it much with the stage rig. I still like it with the Valve Jr. You'll want to try it with your amp to see how it responds.

Reliability : 10
Thus far, I haven't had any issues with reliability. It seems well built, and I tend to be hard on gear.

When I first discovered these pedals, I inquired with DeltaLab to find out if they are in fact the DeltaLab of old, renowned for their bleeding edge digital effects back in the day. They were prompt, courteous and honest in their reply - no, they are not the old DeltaLab, but hope to live up to the old brand's standards and reputation. Okay, fair enough.

Overall Rating : 6
If you're looking for an overdrive, try before you buy. I picked this up based on price and reviews; in hindsight, perhaps I should've gotten something else. It's not junk, but it's not the best pedal for me.

Were somebody to relieve me of this particular pedal, I would probably look into alternatives from Ibanez, ModTone, Fulltone or MXR.

Also, pedal modders be warned - if you don't do surface mount, you won't be tweaking this pedal.

Its very simple to use 3 knobs , gain , tone , & level. Very simple.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using it with a peavey classic 212 and a peavey pacer. Guitars 2 strats ,1 tele & 1 Les Paul. I have owned a tube screamer , bad monkey , ect... I loved my tube screamer but traded it. I wanted another one but these were on sell for $30 , so I tried it. Wow !!! its awesome. It have that whole SRV vibe on my strats with the right adjustment , pretty good sound with LP and tele.

Reliability : No Opinion
Built like a freakin tank. I use 4 different dist/overdrive peadals for different songs so I always have a backup thats common sense.

Customer Support : 9
I got it at guitar center the salesman told me it was the store brand and if tore up bring back they'd take care of it cant beat that.

Overall Rating : 9
I play Christian Rock in a blues/classic rock genre. Its great for what I play. Been playing for about 30 years. If something happened to it I would get another one. For the price you cant beat it.

Pretty basic. Gain, tone, and level controls (one of each). Step on the switch and it turns on. True bypass. Nothing fancy...just plug and play. What more could you want from an overdrive pedal?

Sound Quality : 10
First off, here's my set up: Epiphone Dot Studio (all stock) or Affinity Squier (also stock)--> DigiTech SC-2 Valve Distortion --> Tube Driver --> Epiphone Valve Special (5w Class A 1x10).

As the name suggests, it's designed to drive your tubes. Excellent tone. Forget paying so much for the Tube Screamer, this one is just as good AND...little to no clipping! I paired this up with the DigiTech Hardwire Series Valve Distortion (SC-2). I placed the distortion BEFORE the driver and the result...my lead tone. The Tube Driver really smooths-out the SC-2 (which I have set at high gain, by the way). The Tube Driver doesn't really clip (and I'm talking Alnico V Humbuckers here), but rather it lightly compresses the tone and it just gives you a sweet, rich, full tone. When I set it up the other way around (Tube Driver to SC-2), the driver just boosts the gain and it gives the distortion a more clear and solid tone.

I also used this with a Fender 212r. It still sounded amazing, but it's ten thousand times better for tube amps.

Alone, it has a nice clear tone. The Tone knob is really effective. You can use it as a boost (back off gain and turn up level), tone boost (roll up Tone knob for a tob boost), or just a normal overdrive. It's really an excellent quiality pedal.

Also, it seems to have good battery life. I put it through a 2 hour jam session at high gain and I did not experience tone loss or anything of the sort.

Nothing yet. But I've only had it for 2 weeks. Seems pretty damn solid (all metal).

Haven't dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
This is the best value I've seen out there. Seriously, just forget buying the Tube Screamer and having to get it modded. Just dish out the fifty bucks (or thirty if you're as lucky as me and find it on sale) and live happily ever after. This is a no regrets pedal. But, I think they're getting discontinued already so if you see one JUMP ON IT!!!

Three knobs: Gain, Tone, and Level...pretty self explanitory. Mine didn't come with a manual but you really don't need one at all.

Sound Quality : 9
I used this pedal on two different amps (my friends crappy Crate amp and my Peavey Classic 50 4x10) with my Gibson Les Paul Studio.

It made my friends amp sound pretty tube-like for sure. I was very surprised with the sounds I was able to get with it. The amp actually has some buzz to it already, but when I added the Tube Driver it actually (when turned on) took away some of his amp buzz, which was...weird.

With my amp the sound quality was also great. It doesn't really "clean up" that great with the volume knob on the guitar like some OD's and Tube screamers do, but nonetheless it fills the void of the light to heavy OD that I needed. This pedal is NOT a distortion pedal, but it is a great sounding OD (light to heavy) for sure.

Reliability : 10
This thing is heavy for how small it is, so I assume it's made well. The switch feels heavy enough and the knobs are nice and smooth. I'm not privelaged enough to afford backups for anything so everything MUST work.

can't say

I play mostly ambient, alternative, and worship styles. A light OD is necessary for most styles of play, but especially for styles that don't want to be "too over the top" with the gain like that of worship or ambient and stuff.

I've been playing for about 5 years now, but that has mostly consisted of acoustic until about the past two years when I bought my Paul. I'm just now getting into effects and trying to make the most efficient and useful pedalboard I can. Right now I've got:
- Boss CS-3 - Humphrey Badder modded
- DeltaLab Tube Driver
- EHX English Muff'n
- Ernie Ball Volume
- Line 6 DL-4

I've heard that it's definately comparable to the Ibanez TS9, but I haven't tried one out to know for sure.

Here's the thing with this pedal. IT'S CHEAP! It retails at Guitar Center for $50 and this past weekend they had a "Midnight Madness" sale (I bought it at 12:00am!)which helped me get this baby for $30! To be honest, you really can't go wrong with much of anything for $30...especially since most comparable products (Tube screamers, other OD's) run in the 100's (most like $150-$200). For $30 (usually $50) it has to be the best value right now for any effect.

3 knobs- couldn't be easier to get a great sound

Sound Quality : 10
I have fender mim strat with stock pu's into the td-1 into a line 6 spider 3 (getting a nice tube amp soon though!)and it sounds great.
I can get any kind of blues or classic rock sound out of it. great for the money too

Reliability : 10
I'm just a hobbyist so it just stays at home all the time but its built like a rock and i doubt it would ever break on me.

Never had to deal with them

Amazing. It's half the price of the tubescreamer and sounds just as good. This has true bypass too which the tubescreamer does not. Go buy it now.

Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use. Gain, Tone, Volume. Simple tube screamer pedal.

Sound Quality : 9
Les Paul with GFS 59' bridge pickup > DeltaLab TD-1 > Fender Hot Rod Deville 212. I use the clean channel on the amp and then turn this on to give me a classic rock type distortion. The TONE knob is very effective and turned up can achieve a JCM800 type crunch or set low can give you a creamy bluesy tone. The Gain and Volume controls are very effective too.

Reliability : No Opinion
Only had it for 2 days but it comes with a 3 year warranty. It's heavy as hell, metal enclosure, true bypass. Seems like it can hang with the big boys.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them. Website isn't up and running yet.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play rock n roll ala Tom Petty, Beatles, Stones, Oasis, Black Crowes. This is a great mild overdrive tube screamer type pedal. Especially for the money. True Bypass, heavy duty pedal, bright LED..can't go wrong for $50.
