Two Knobs, doesn't get any easier. Great tone at any setting.Choose one and be happy then choose another one and be happy!!!

Sound Quality : 10
I run a two amp setup in stereo.My chain runs like this Guitar>Deja-vibe2> '69Fuzz> Clyde Wah> Supa-Trem> Cold Fusion Overdrive> Texas Ranger> Choralflange(stereo) split to a modified
Blackface Dual Showman 2X12" Jbl-D series speakers to an Evil twin
modified with two reissue Jensen C12N speakers. I also use two 15" JBL D series cabs as extensions speakers when I feel like carrying them. I also use either a Roland Space echo or a Alesis Quadraverb in the effects loop. The ranger enhances my tone, I have tried other boosters and they all work well but the ranger is the most natural sounding.I can run the full gamut from SRV to Hendrix but I prefer to use my Tele
and sound like me but the urge is there nightly to break out the strat!!

Reliability : 10
This thing is very dependable. I never worry about a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them but I've only heard nice things about Diaz.

Overall Rating : 10
I play all styles of music but mostly known for blues. I have been playing professionally for 24 years. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. I leave it on all night so I don't really need an LED. I play my amps on minimum settings 25 watts the Ranger rounds out and fills up my tone where i use to rely on volume. This box really will help your playing. It will take you to the "Zone". My next pedal to try will be the Diaz Square Face Fuzz!!!

awesome sound...can I give this an 11 for sound? makes everything sound better...its not an overdrive pedal...its a treble booster that adds more gain...truely its a unique pedal onto itself..the tone is a dream come true for me

Reliability : 10
build for road work, stands up to the test of time....I'm getting two more as backups cuz I like it so much!

Customer Support : 10
Cesar Diaz is a complete class act...he's personally answered more than a couple questions for me via email and took the time to help me with other parts of my rig.......basically Cesar is a genius, everyone knows that...he also happens to be a nice person who cares, THAT'S a rare treat

Overall Rating : 10
overall this pedal gets rated an 11 from me...please ignore the rating of a "10"

worth every penny...its handbuilt by the tech who rebuilt Stevie Ray Vaughan's amps and pedals...nuff said

gain knob,3 position switch (hi,mid,low)...simple.

Sound Quality : 9
have used it with my teles and strats so far thru mesa trem o' and
sundown combo.makes the notes jump out nicely...on the "hi" setting
you can get close to a brian may tone if you have the amp set the
right way.mid and low are cool, too.it can just be left on all the
time and you can ride the guitar volume.a little noisy when cranked up
but that's inherent in this type of booster.

Reliability : 10
it seems very solid-if it broke,i'm sure it would be easy to get
repaired by mr.diaz. according to him,all three of his pedals are
designed to run on batteries, yet he puts a boss barrel-type AC plug
on each of them...it would be good if there was some info included
about polarity, etc.i had to find out from the dealer-no big deal, but
i wouldn't hurt!

Customer Support : No Opinion
i got a fast response to an email, and it seems everyone else has had
a similar experience with CD.

Overall Rating : 9
the cool thing about this is that you can use it instead or with other
OD/fuzzes-it kicks the amp nicely in a way my others don't. this and the texas square face are currently faves, along with the everman fuzz-
drive.before i bought this i used a PE rx overdriver but this has more
of the good stuff.

Very easy. A 3 way selector for High Boost-Mid Boost-Low Boost

Sound Quality : 10
One of the few pedals that I like to use alone, also works great with a Chorus or Tremolo pedal

Reliability : 10
Cesar makes these himself.Enough said.

Customer Support : 10
Email Cesar and he responds personally. He might even send you some attached pictures to download of cool and rare SRV shots. He will also sign your pedal to you if you ask.

Overall Rating : 10
This works great with single coil pickups and probably is great with Humbuckers too (I don't own anything but G&L's and Strats). This is like the pedal Tony Iommi uses but instead of just being a treble booster it does Mids and Lows as well.I've heard Tony uses one of these also.Lastly, anyone who has a guitar with Gold Lace Sensors SHOULD ABSOLUTELY check this pedal out.Try the Low boost on your gold bridge p/u.

No problem here, just figure out what tone you want to use; Hi, Mid or Lo and then set the volume boost.

Sound Quality : 10
Wow, I sure like this pedal. I have owned, or own about every boutique pedal there is, and this thing is superb. I use it on Lo with some boost added and it makes everything bigger without any farting out or mushiness. Most booster pedals add a certain non-musical high frequency tone, but the Ranger adds the "right" type of treble boost that makes everything get that cool shimmer, even at higher gain settings. Obviously, the more you boost the more hiss will appear, but since this pedal has a lot of boost capability, it doesn't seem to be a problem through my rig.

Reliability : 10
Cesar has built a very strong box, MXR-style, which should be very road-worthy. It also has a Boss-type barrel plug which works well with my Pedal Power.

Customer Support : 10
Cesar has promptly answered all my emails, plus he sends some cool pictures along! He has given me some great advice, also.

Overall Rating : 10
I play rock with a blues vibe. My gear is as follows: Top Hat Emplexador, Budda Twinmaster, and a Blues Pearl Verbrasonic. These are used for solo, crunch, and clean sounds, respectivly. My pedal board has a Bad Horsie Wah (sorry Fulltone, but my Clyde did NOT sound very good and had a bad hum), Fulltone Deja Vibe, Line 6 Delay modeler, Octafuzz, and the Texas Ranger. Prior to getting the Ranger I had on my board a TS 808, Menatone Blue Collar, 70's Fuzz, and a Crowther Hot Cake, but now they are off the board. Once I used the Ranger, I noticed that I never used the other pedals. I may in time get a Diaz Square Face. Anyway, the point is that this pedal beefs up my sound and really fattens up my lead tone. I had a Z. Vex Super Hard On but it seemed to add that high frequency grithcy sound that was irritating to my ears. The Texas Ranger doesn't do that, although it does add some cool bite to the overall tone. I seems kind of expensive for a booster, but really seems worth every penny to me, especially since I've already sold some of the other pedals that I wasn't using. Just buy it, you won't be sorry.

Just plug it in between your guitar and amp!

Sound Quality : 10
This is a sort of 3 position boost (Hi,Mid,Low) with a VERY interactive gain control. On the "HI" setting, I found that a Rickenbacker 12-string with lots of compression gets that perfect Vox treble boost sound that McGuinn employed on the Byrds stuff.
The "Low" setting really adds girth to a Srat for a very big ,Hendrixy" effect. Those looking for that type of flexibility in a pedal should just go buy it.Today.Everything seems to benefit from being run through it.
A wonderful addition to your signal chain-whatever you play!

Reliability : 10
It's a Diaz.Enough said.

Controls are self explanitory and do exactly what they say. The volume hits unity gain at about 9:00 and from there on you're pushin your preamp into some delightful overdriven sounds. The three tone settings are distinct and useful for different sounds and or guitars. The stomp switch is robust and right where it should be.

Sound Quality : 9
I tried it with a Strat through a Deluxe Reverb and I like the 'Mid' setting the best. It gives a nice sparkling boost and kicks the front end of the little Fender very nicely for a fat bluesy tone. I also tried it with a Les Paul through one of my old 50w Marshalls. The 'Hi' setting really makes the thing scream. I can hear a bit of the old Beano sound there. The 'Mid' setting gets into the Wheels of Fire kind of thing and really cranks my non master vol head. The sounds are all very useful. It has a bit of hiss at extreme settings, but then all gain boosters do.

Reliability : 10
I can expect the unit to last longer than I will. I've never had any problems with any of his products.

Customer Support : 10
If it ever decides to hiccup, I know Cesar will tell me exactly where to sh, 'scuse me, how to fix it immediately if I can't figure it out. He stands behind (and slightly to the right of) all of his products. He's a fanatic about everything he makes, and will do whatever it takes to make it right. I know because I've worked with him!

Overall Rating : 8
I think it's a very useful little booster that I will come to love. It fills a niche that my other pedals don't and it's unique flavor adds that bit of cayenne that I need in the mix sometimes. Without really changing the character of the guitar too much, it pushes the sound into some interesting places and brings a bit of sparkle to a good sounding rig. There are several combinations of guitars and amps that I haven't tried yet, but it should be interesting to see how it works with them all. I recommend it.

Three very cool settings. Simple controls. What else could you want?

Sound Quality : 9
Really fattens up what would otherwise be thin sounding pickups, yet fat sounding ones don't go over the top (how do they do that??)
Very distinct differences between settings. Useful tones. Very Cool!

Reliability : No Opinion
Very new product. Haven't really been able to put it through the mill yet, but based on Diaz track record for thr Tremodillo, etc, it should be a workhorse. Nice heavy duty metal case, very sturdy looking (and sounding) jacks, pots, etc. I don't expect any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any problems that I've needed to use customer support.

Overall Rating : 9
One more tool in the toolbox. Very useful sound. Very simple to operate.

Ease of Use : 10
Really, This could get no easier. The Texas Ranger is Cesar Diaz' new booster pedal. It has a volume control and a three position tone switch with 3 very different tones.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using the pedal with a Tweed Deluxe, a Blues Jr. a Blackface Pro Reverb, and a Bogner Ecstasy. The Ranger has 3 tone settings, a hi setting that's pretty bright maybe good for humbuckers, a mid setting that is kind of tubescreamerish and attenuates the lows and highs a little to make your tone punch through, and lo, a fat bottom tone that doesn't trash the highs. As you can tell, I like the lo setting which is the bassier of the 3. The pedal is not a totally clean boost. It has a preset slight ammount of grit built in. It's not a distortion, it just has a bit of hair on it at any setting. The pedal is at unity gain at about 9:00 so it can push the front end of your amp HARD if you turn it up too far. At extreme settings it can introduce some noise but any boost will do this and in all fairness at extreme settings the thing has way more boost than I could ever use. The extra gain is probably useful for some styles but I use it for just a mild boost. I use a strat with lipsticks and while I love them, they can get thin when overdriven. The lo setting combats this pretty effectively. I bought it to kick the Plexi channel on the Bogner to try to get that Stevie Ray thing going. I am gear obsessed. I also own the Klon, The Fulldrive II, the Stamps, and a host of other boutique overdrives. This rates favorably with all of them and I think I like the tone of this pedal a little more. Most pedals of this type attenuate the bass and treble like a tube screamer does. The ranger does change your tone at the lo setting ( they all do )but it doesn't wreck my bass or treble. I like the tone. Tubescreamer people would like the mid tone. Cesar told me that is his favorite.

Reliability : 9
Had it a couple of weeks. I didn't originally have a place for it on my pedalboard so it hit the ground several times during load-outs last week with no ill effects. MXR style box looks pretty tough.

Customer Support : 10
This is an honest 10. I got in touch with Cesar through the number on his web page. He took time to talk to me and told me about this new pedal. ( I called for a tremodillo ) When I thought I had a problem ( My Mistake ) with the Trem pedal, I e-mailed him to ask for advice. He returned my e-mail by the next day. He offered suggestions and also offered to send a replacement before I even got a chance to tell him it was my mistake. He also kept in touch after the sale to see how I liked this pedal because it's brand new. This guy is a gem. As far as I'm concerned, He and Mike Fuller give the whole boutique pedal thing a good name.

Overall Rating : 9
I play blues, Blues oriented Rock, Country, and Progressive country. I'v been playing for 29 years. I don't need it for country, but I love it for my blues and rock sounds. I would get this again. I still have a Fulltone on my board, but I get a more natural Bas and Treble response from the Ranger. It got me some tones that I couldn't seem to get from what I had been using. I really like the simplicity of the pedal. Also I think Cesar chose to add just the right amount of pre-set grit. I do wish it had an LED. In the effort to get full bypass, several of my favorite effects don't have an LED. This pedal can sound so natural that it could fool you into thinking your amp was just having a particularly good night until you go for your boost and find out that your Texas Ranger was already on. Remember, This guy was Stevie Ray's amp tech. He has the tone thing down. Plus I just like him. I find it hard to believe that he had the time to send me several e-mails to see how I liked the stuff. I'd buy anything Cesar was selling.
