Ease of Use : 8
Not that hard to use, although I don't care for the much-vaunted knobs (too stiff).

Sound Quality : 9
Various axes...ES335, Carvin DC200, American Series Strat, Nashville Tele, LP Studio. Various amps, mostly a Blackheart Handsome Devil head/Blackheart 12" cab and/or a Fender 4x10 Hot Rod DeVille. This pedal is fun to tweak, good sounds to be found.

Reliability : 9
Only owned it a few months but would use on a gig without backup. Heavy duty construction.

Customer Support : 10
Quick response to my question about a particular setting.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Playing for 52 years, blues/jazz/pop/originals. This pedal works well for many styles. Would replace if lost/stolen.

This pedal is not easy to use and the more brainless plug in and play kids should probably go for something with one or two knobs. As was mentioned by others it takes some adjusting to get what you are looking for. Pick a model tha suits what you want to do in a chorus and work on the settings.

Sound Quality : 10
I do not understand the hiss issue or what sort of crap one might plug this into. I am running it through my effects loop and the sound is clean and good bandwidth. I plan to add another Voodoo Lab Pedal Switcher unit for my effects loop chain as they make all pedals really true bypass. Have not see n a pedal yet that did not improve with the isolator switcher. I tend to stay on the Choral/Flange Fulltone model for most of my prefered sounds. I think its the best although any model has its uses. I run a high tech chain which enables me to get any tone depending on my mood.
I run a Carvin V3 with their vintage 4x12 cab (truly a great amp) My board runs a Vai Wah, into the Voodoo Lab Switcher on direct plug, its loop 1 is Digitech Synth Wah, loop 2 is a Keeley Mod DS-1, loop 3 a Keeley mod MT-2, Loop 4 is my Fulltone OCD (it also sounds better on the Labs bypass loop.) That is amp in. Amp loop 1 is a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe, the Digitech Chorus Factory, and a Boss DL-5, I will eventually put a switcher unit on the loop. Also upgrading the DDL to a Gigadelay. Use high end cables friends preferably gold connectors on your pedal runs. Probably the source of the other fellows hiss.

Reliability : 10
Digitech is a superior pedal, never had a failure or one not deliver the goods. Better built than the Boss pedals which I have had to replace switches. Digitech is underrated and extremely good prices. I get the badest *** evelope wah sound out of my synth was but it took a while to get it right. Work those knobs, before you make judgements. Some of the reviews I read I swear I cannot figure out what the deal is. Like my Carvin amp, that thing is God tone and my Carvin customs (DC-400, DC-135) are so good I would not take any other guitar for them.

Customer Support : No Opinion
???? Never had cause for Digitech issues. I had my Boss pedals modified by Keeley, Digitech is superior quality. All pedals need a true bypass isolator like the Voodoo Lab and really if you are still using batteries, it is 2008. Don;t compalin about hissing and noise of your system is ground looped with **** cables.

Overall Rating : 10
I like Digitech, I would not hesitate to get any of their pedals the price is ridiculous for the quality. For God's sake read the manual and work with the settings these are not do nothing pedals. Tone often takes a little work.

With the Chorus Factory, it's a good idea to keep the manual handy until you really get used to using it. Since it has so many chorus models, it's hard to get used to how each control works in different modes. My advice is to find one mode, that suits you, and work within its' settings for about a night or two, and move on to another mode. The main problem with this pedal is that it takes a heck of a lot of time to get used to. Because the mode setting offers so much, don't expect to buy this pedal and figure out what it does in five or ten minutes of fiddling.

Sound Quality : 8
The sound quality is a bit better than what you'd expect for a guitar pedal, which is going to be a real problem for an analog purest. I find the models to be a bit more pristine sounding compared to the real equipment, that this gadget emulates. Overall, in terms of different sounds, since the Chorus Factory has so much to offer, after a lot of experimentation, a lot of guitarists will be happy with it. Although the models are really good, but they aren't exactly like the real thing, there is more than enough controls on the Chorus Factory to get a lot of really nice chorus sounds out of it.

Reliability : 10
I've had mine for about a year, and never had a problem with it. Since it will suck the life out of a 9 volt battery quite quickly, buying the power supply is an absolute must.

Overall Rating : 8
Since the Chorus Factory offers many more different sounds than every other chorus on the market, it is more than worth its' retail price. Although a lot of people will insist, that it isn't quite as good as most of the gadgets, that it models, before you buy one, you're going to have to ask yourself, if you want variety, or do you want to spend the same amount of money, or more on a chorus, that doesn't offer as much in terms of variety, but fits your style better. Because it does so much, it is a lot harder to dial in a setting than every other chorus pedal on the market, which might be too frustrating for a lot of people. However, if you take some time to get used to working with the Chorus Factory, you might swear hands down, that this is the best chorus pedal on the market.

Great features, adjustability, variety of voicings. it may take a while to get what you want, but that's because you have a lot of choices in front of you, and several settings to tweak. Love the versatility.

I'll say 8 because while it is straightforward, it's not so "easy" as plug in and go.

Sound Quality : 2
I opened the box, plugged it into a test rig, and was horribly disappointed with the hiss. Tried different cables, batteries, settings, no dice. Off, it's quiet. On... we play some pretty big venues, and well, it'd still be embarrassing in small venues as well. Returned it immediately.

Hiss was consistent across all models, though 2 were a little higher than the others.

Reliability : No Opinion
It could reliably produce hiss 7 days a week...

Great ideas in this pedal. I really wished it had worked. Loved the tweakability and options.

Ease of Use : 9
Easy to use...lots of tweaking options...but still easy.

Sound Quality : 9
I like the sounds and the options on this pedal. I am not an expert on any of the original individual chorus models...but I like the different sounds. I only use a chorus pedal for a few songs...and before I invested in any of the originals...I saw this pedal. It seemed like an inexpensive option to sample the other pedals...even if it just comes close.

Reliability : 10
I own a couple of old Digitech pedals that I bought new years ago...and they've lasted...and this seems to be built to last as well.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with the company directly.

Overall Rating : 10
I like this pedal a lot. It's a good match for me right now. Might
I get a real TC or other chorus...yeah. Or maybe I'll buy an AnalogMan chorus to use too...but right now...this is a great choice for me.

Just bought one. $115 CDN new. I'm not impressed. I think with Choruses (pl. Chori?) simplicity reins. This unit has way too much control over parameters. Also a level on a modulation effect is not my bag man. I have four volumes on my amp, one on the geetar, one on my distortion, one on my compressor, one on my delay and one on my CF-7. ENOUGH. Fuck I'm almost at the point of throwing away all my pedals again and going with a dynacomp straight into the front of the amp. RRRRRR. Cheap though...not bad for $115 bucks.

Sound Quality : 7
This is one of those jack of all trade pedals but master of none. I had a Boss CE-2 and loved it. It set up easily, never made a bad sound and had rate and speed. Done. But this one has high tones controls, low tone controls, levels, speed, mix, offset. Dear Sweet Jebus. I kept tweaking the Small Clone setting until Letterman came on and I still couldn't find "my setting". As soon as I got close it ZOOMED (no pun intended) right into the "swirly thing" (I like that phrase).

The TC shouldn't even be there....not TC quality AT ALL(not close even).

The ChoralFlange is nice but without tap tempo it's not that practical. I'm thinking of taking this back and taking the cash to go buy a CE-2 off of EBay.

Reliability : 9
I was thinking of keeping it just to deter burglers. Made like a tank. No worries there.

Who knows?

Overall Rating : 7
Like my Boss OD-20, it tries to do too many things at once. Since my first love is simplicity and tube amp tone, I would say this isn't the pedal for moi. If you like tweaking. Go for it Baby!!! At $115 how can you go wrong? However it's just not the pedal for me. Cheers.

Ease of Use : 9
This is a VERY easy pedal to use, but I am only giving it an "9" because the CNTL 1,2,3 do different things for different chorus types. This requires the user to have the manual when changing chorus types.

Sound Quality : 9
Excellent sound quality, and the chorus models sound VERY close to the originals that they were based on.

Reliability : 9
This pedal is VERY heavy. Very sturdy metal construction. I can tell this pedal was built to last

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Digitech customer service, so I have no opinion.

Overall Rating : 9
Excellent pedal for musicians that don't want to spend a fortune collecting all the "original" pedals.

It's easy to use. The manual has a nice multi-page layout showing the different controls available for each model. Easy to follow that way. You'll have to memorize what the extra controls do for each knob unless you keep the little manual open alongside.

Sound Quality : 6
Not quite there, folks. I'm not into the super swirly over the top chorus so the Small Stone and ChoralFlange I didn't bother with too much although they did have the same problem as the other three models. The Boss Chorus was subtle, the Boss Chorus Ensembl3e was nice sounding as well. The one I was really hoping would win out was the TC Electronic chorus. I spent most time on that one as the real pedal is $300 and this Digitech one is only $100 with the extra chorus models thrown in. I have the TC pedal and side by side the Digitech doesn't do it. There were times when the sound of the model was on but most of the time it wasn't. The problem was that there was too much brittle-ness to the treble strings. The real pedal kept the warmth of the clean signal and chorused it. The digitech pedal stripped the original signal of its warmth and chorused that. It left a distict metallic character to the chorus. I tried to dial it out by using the EQ control (available on the model but not the original pedal) but it was always still there. I don't have the original pedals for the other models, but that metallic tingy sound was with them as well. In all, adequate, but not enough for me to keep it.

Reliability : 9
Very solid box. If I kept it I would use it w/out backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Not strong enough models to warrant replacing my TC Electronic box. I sent the pedal back to zzounds.

Pretty easy to use but you have to use the manual because the knobs control slightly different parameters based on the model. The manual is excellent.

Sound Quality : 9
Right up front I can say that this pedal sounds excellent. It's worth the price just for the Choralflange model alone. The models are:

1. Based on DigiTech?? Multi Chorus???
2. Based on Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus*
3. Based on TC Electronic' Stereo Chorus Flanger*
4. Based on Fulltone?? Choralflange???
5. Based on Boss?? CH-1 Super Chorus*
6. Based on Electro-Harmonix ?? Small Clone???*
7. Based on Boss?? CE-5 Chorus Ensemble*

All of the models sound good and have tons of control over them, more than the originals they are based on in fact because they offer some "tweaks" that are not available on say the VL Analog Chorus or the EHX Small Clone. I have a VL Analog Chorus and while the model is not exact, it's very close and in some ways better because of the tweakability. I like the Choralflange model the best myself, it's got a nice warm and lush quality and that nice throb too. I think this pedal is digital but it sure doesn't sound like it to me.

Reliability : 7
I have other "swirly" pedals on my board so I am not worried about it. Mine had a cold solder joint which caused it to not work on battery power. It was an easy fix for me but not equipped to deal with this might be a little bummed. I am going to give a 7 here because I had to fix my brand new pedal. I could have sent it back to MF for an exchange as well but it's still a hassle.

Customer Support : 9
I dealt with them years ago in the old DSP128 days. They were helpful then but I have no idea what the deal is nowadays. I'll give them an 9 based on my past experience.

Overall Rating : 10
I play mostly classic rock, blues, praise and worship, and contemporary Christian music. I have been playing for around 30 years both professionally and non. My main amp right now is a Mesa Single-Recto Rectoverb and I play Carvin, Gibson, and Fender guitars with Seymour Duncan pickups. I haven't had a chance to gig with this pedal yet but I think it will be fine once I get it dialed in. I would definitely buy this pedal again. It's a blast to mess with all of these different chorus sounds :)
