this is pretty much my favorite peice of digitech gear because it's just so simple...all the sounds are good, and preset...no editing....and i really like the front panel eq; i wish i could see that on other rack units, because it's really useful...i use this one in a pa fx rack for various things, usually vocals....

One space rack reverb/delay, with input, output, mix, bass, middle, treble (eq for reverb) rotary program select. Very simple unit to use since it doesn't allow patch editing, and simple manual describing basic operation and patch structures. This unit is a "no brainer" to use, but having the manual definitely helps to find the patch one needs.

I have used this unit in variety of guitar rigs and studio settings. On the plus side, this unit is very quite and has excellent reverbs. much better reverb than most processors currently available. Having had lots of gear over the years, this DSP-16 has been one I have used more frequently. I suspect that Digitech made this unit as one of their better(high-end) units for sound quality. The down side to this unit is all the presets are set and unable to change, however, there is a verity of patches with different amounts of delay and reverb, which has allowed me to usually find what I need at the moment. What is nice about this unit is the analog three band eq on the front panel that allows contouring the reverb(real time).

Very well built unit, steel chassis, and a peek inside was impressive. I wish a lot of current gear was built as well as this unit. No need for a back up here...

I delt with digitech a couple of years ago for another piece of gear I had and received excellent service...still feel grateful for the help. Haven't had any trouble with this unit.

Bottom line, this unit would be best suited for the musician/engineer who wants studio quality reverbs with out any care to program. It would be nice to change predelays, diffusion/density, or to find tune the delay/repeats, but there is a advantage to the plug and play mentality! There is enough patches with slight changes to make this unit usable, and the sound quality is better than most unit I have had.

Pretty easy to use, not everything sounds great, but I think thats the case with most any brand unit. I basically have used the presets up to this point, and they will fill many needs. Didn't get the manual, but I was able to figure this out in about a half-hour (but then again I use a lot of outboard, so someone less experienced may take longer). This unit has not been upgraded to my knowledge.

I use this with a Gibson Les Paul, and a Peavey amp (usually). Not much noise at all, and the presets are (overall) pretty good -- some better than others. Nothing here I can point to and say is exceptional, or really gross, just a steady work-horse for normal stuff.

I bought it used, and I think it was used pretty hard, but it has never given me any trouble.

I don't know if I would buy another, but it does give a different sound than the Midiverbs I have, so I might buy one if the price was cheap enough. I guess the thing that I like about it most is that it gives me choices besides the Midiverbs, and I like options.
