The effects on it are good and do what they say except for how the delay turns on and off.

When you stomp-off the pedal, any delay will keep playing until it runs this course... this is understandable, although different to pedals I have used previously. When you stomp-on again the previous delay keeps playing, which in my mind makes the effect unusable.

Sound Quality : 9
Sound is good.

Reliability : No Opinion
Only had it a few days... not broken so far.

Phoned up customer support with query about how the pedal works (see above). Phone answered in seconds. Friendly and determined staff.

Overall Rating : 2
I'm considering either sending this back, though it is the only pedal in my price range above a Behringer delay that clapped out on me.
All good other than the huge programming oversight of not clearing the memory when the pedal is reactivated.

very easy to use. Despite having a good amount of features, it's easy toget the sound you want

EXCELLENT sound. The normal settings are just as clear as a Boss DD3 (and without the harsh digital sounds of a DD5 or dd6). What you put in is what you get out...

The Digidelay also has an analog / tape mode, which is EXCELLENT. It really does sound like an analog delay (see the other reviews here...), but with less backgroun noise. It also has a reverse , and a loop facility -I don't use these but they're good for getting strange / spacey sounds out of.

these units have a very long delay time (4sec), which is better than many Boss units. To be honest, I don't use anything above 700mS, but for people wanting to make strange noises, its a useful pedal.

Reliability : 10
strong metal case. Been to many gigs and always worked perfectly. Bright LED. Good quality jack sockets.

I've had a Boss DD3 and DD5 in the past, and an analogue Aria Series 5 delay. Sold the DD5 a month after buying it. The Aria sounds great but only has a short delay time. The DD3 was a good workhorse delay but failed when I plugged in the wrong adapter and put 24volts DC into the power socket!! I went to the shop to get another DD3 and tried it head-to-head with this Digitech.... and this one was cheaper, just as well made, sounded just as good, but had a longer delay time. The analog sound on this was like my Aria, but without the hiss. Now this is the only delay pedal I use.

Great. I was very surprised. I have a Boss-DD3 I am very happy with and never would have bought one of these Digidelays on my own, but I got it as part of a lot on e-bay. The tape delay sound is incredible. Set the effect high in the mix with a long delay and you can sound just like Rush's first live album on "By-Tor and the Snow Dog". But what I really use it for is its clarity and hi-fi sound. The Digidelay adds some highs and polish and fidelity to the tone. I set the unit on tape delay with about three repeats and a medium delay, then set the mix control at about three so I can leave it on all the time. I put the Boss DD-3 after it in the effect chain, and use that for longer and louder echos for leads. It might be better to have a second Digidealy but the Boss-DD3 sounds great for loud lead use echos. In front of the Digidelay I have a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah, a Keeley modded TS808, and an Analog Man mod TS-9. I use the Digidelay to split the sound into stereo going into two Marshall Studio 15's. I tried a true vintage analog 300ms delay in place of the Digidelay, but that is going low fidelity and is not the sound I am looking for. Who would have thought this Digidelay would sound so good?

Reliability : 10
Very reliable, solid case. The one I got was ancient and pretty beat up but works perfectly.

Ther's several options coming within this pedal. One want to buy it may see in manual. Although you should stick to one or two options. It's imposible to use all specialy on live gigs. My favorite are analog for comp and solo and chorus for arpegiates clean comp. Sometimes I use very long delay to mimic sustained tone on slow solos or intros.

Sound Quality : 8
The pedal is silent and overall sounds good. I keep it in FX loop of my Marshall JVM 410C all time. Analog delay permanently follow my sound set to 11h for first three pots. It make my sound warmer and brighter. I dont switch it off at all and when I do, I wonder how I liked my marshall sound withou it. However, on very high gain it tend to thiner the sound so I have to compensate in upper middle freq. It brings kind of echo that I was missing in my tone cause marshall's own reverb although good, wasnt enough. I tried boss delay earlier and this one is more versatile and gives less digital tone, at least for analog and chorus

Reliability : 9
Appears rugged, works fine so far but dont rely on 9V battery, this is delay pedal, thinks to plug it in the wall

I play clasic rock covers as semi-pro for more than 30 years, recently on HSS strat and marshall tube. I rely on tubes and have very few other peddals in rig keeping it simple. It's nice add-on and I'll keep it until I found something else that could be found only in upper range priced stuff.

My experience of delays goes back to using Watkins Copicat tape echoes in the 70s and 80s (and mine were old then). They were great (but noisy) and formed my view of a good delay unit. I really only want to get 3 maybe 4 delay sounds in an evening, ranging from slapback to soft halo to big solo time - I can get these on the Digidelay with very little fiddling, and the mod delay setting is a very useful bonus.

Sound Quality : 10
This does its job perfectly. No noise, just the delay you dial in is what you get out. I don't go in for looping and tapping in tempos so any shortcomings there would not really bother me - I just need it to be short or long with controllable repeats and level, and it is.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems.

It gives you wide control over a wide range of delays with no noise. I've also got a Danelectro delay which is warmer but it lacks the bright clarity and diversity of the Digitech so it's horses for courses.

Fairly easy to setup. Has lots of differnt delay types to choose from.
Nice features

Sound Quality : 10
I've had this unit for a year now and swear by it. I heard all this new buzz about the mxr carbon copy delay and bought one to compare with my Digidelay.. The tape/analog mode on the Digidelay sounds WAY better than the MXR CC. I ended up returning the mxr cause it was too noisy. The Digidelay is very quiet. I haven't messed with all the different delay types because I mainly use the tape setting with a short slapback. It sounds a lot like the old echoplex, moreso than any other delay units I've tried.

Reliability : 9
Seems to be holding up well.

The Loop feature is almost useless because it is so hard to get the timing right. Also, the Tap Tempo is a pain, turn on, hold, 3 seconds (but not more then three seconds, tap, wait, hold for three seconds, wait, and then press again to turn off. Therefore, if you are in tap tempo mode and you want to quickly turn off the delay, it wont happen. Not having an external tap tempo is just plane dumb, and a necessity if you care about getting your delays dead on.

Sound Quality : 7
Bypass is clean and adds nothing to the signal path. But, once you are in tap tempo mode the pedal sometimes gives out a quite high pitched squeal. This is only in place with a less then great power source, so pretty much every club we play in.

Reliability : 9
I have had it for 3 years and never had a problem, maybe because I never really use it, it just sits on my pedal board.

Customer Support : 9
All good here

Overall Rating : 7
This pedal has some great features, but with the noise and headache of tap tempo it is often a pain to use. The biggest problem I have with the pedal is the inability to set dotted eighth notes. All other major brand does this. Therefore, save a little extra money and get the boss (not the DD3, but the DD5, DD6 or DD7). I regret I ever bought this, and it has an almost 0 resale value. It is nice and shine though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No ha hecho falta.

Overall Rating : 10

Pretty simple to use, the tap tempo can be a bit tricky but once you do it a few times it is easy.

Sound Quality : 5
The reverse and tape delays are pretty good analog sounding delays.
The loop function is hard to get a loop that plays in time, you have to hit it on and off at exactly the right time. The rest of the delays are great.

The only thing I hated about this pedal is the tone change. It sucks low mids and adds a lot of highs plus it removes all the warmth from your analog signal and makes it sound very sterile and brittle.

Reliability : 8
Only had it for a day. So far so good

Customer Support : 5
Never had to deal with them so I don't know

Overall Rating : 7
Good digital delay pedal but if you play with nice analog gear like tube amps and non-digital pedals then you will hate the way this changes your tone.
My digital rack unit Alesis Quadraverb did not make my signal as sterile and as brittle as this pedal does.
I use mostly vintage pedals, guitars and tube amps as I play and listen to mostly old blues, rock and metal from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Ease of Use : 9
It's very easy to use. In most modes the only thing you have to do is to turn time, level and repeat times to the desired level. It includes a short manual that simply teaches how to use every mode in the Digidelay. The Sampler Mode (n??7) is a little hard to use (that's why rate this 9), because you must be quite accurate in pressing down and releasing the pedal in order to get a good sample that you can jam with.

Sound Quality : 8
At "digital delay" modes (1,2,3 I think) it gives a standard nice delay tone, that repeats the original signal very good (it's like that tipical 80's delays). It's not noisy at all. Analog mode gives a warmer tone, that emulates analog tape-delays, but I really prefer the normal modes. The reverse delay it's fun yet not really useful.. I never use it. Sample is good for playing along, soloing, etc.. It only gives about 4 seconds of sampling, and you can record several sounds together in the sample. I consider it an "extra" feature, because this is not intended to be a sampler, but only a digital delay. Most of the time I use mode 2, to play at normal delay times (at 12:00 on the level and time knobs you can get a lot of U2-alike sounds), adjusting the knobs to get the desired sounds. I play a moded Squier Telecaster (with EMG's and a new thru-body bridge)-->Behringer Tuner-->Vox V810 od/booster --> Morley Wah-Digidelay -->Digitech Multivoice chorus--->FENDER FM212 Amp.

Reliability : 10
It's solid building, seems to be some kind of metal, just like BOSS and many others. No complains so far, and (i think) no backup needed at gigs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havent had problems so far...

Overall Rating : 9
It's a very good delay. I prefer it rather than BOSS' DD3, and it's a very good value for the money. I play rock and some blues... a lot of Beatles, Clapton, some U2, Marillion, and argentinian and latin rock.
Very recomended.

Ease of Use : 8
Straightforward to use. I found the interface for the loop and tap-tempo to be a little awkward; if you hold too long or not long enough, it can be hard to tell what state you're in. They did as well as they could have with just one button. Including a slot for an external tap pedal (like a $6 sustain pedal) would have been nice (IMO they could make a nice "DigiDelay+ package" that comes with an external pedal that they could charge $10 for and would only cost them $1). Otherwise simple and straightforward.

Sound Quality : 6
With my strat --> ts9 --> digidelay --> fender hot rod deluxe, it sounds perfectly clean. If you want a pedal with "character", this might not be it; it's digital and they went for a very clean repeat, but they pulled it off with nearly no noise.

BUT... in tap-tempo mode - and only in tap-tempo mode - there was an intense whistling noise that was too annoying to deal with. Admittedly, this might be related to my power supply, interference, etc., but (a) other pedals don't have this behavior on my power supply and (b) it _only_ happened in tap-tempo mode, which is very suspect and really points to a problem with the pedal. I speak in the past tense because I returned this pedal after being unable to get past this issue; I bought this instead of the comparably-priced Boss DD-3 because of the tap tempo (I like rhythm-sync'd delay), and tap-tempo was unusable in my setup.

Reliability : No Opinion
Didn't keep it long enough to assess reliability. It felt much more durable than I had expected.

Customer Support : 10
Before I bought, I mailed Digitech to ask some technical questions about the signal chain, the kind companies usually don't bother to answer, and they gave me great answers within 24 hours. Huge props to them for that.

Overall Rating : 7
Loaded with features and a _great_ value for the price, but this noise issue in tap-tempo mode was too problematic to work around. Maybe it was just my unit, maybe it was the ionosphere on that day, etc. Who knows... but a problem in just one mode really does point to a problem with the pedal, even if it does only occur with certain power supplies, etc. Power filtering is a feature that needs to be 100% solid in a high-quality pedal.

If I see this pedal used somewhere for $50, I'll buy it, but for $100 this issue was too significant.

The straight delay function is super easy, but the tap tempo function, and looper fuctions are a bit of a pain.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the best compact digital delay unit I have found. I also have a DD-5 and used to have a DD-6. I set this up beside the DD-5 for testing.

The Digidelay is superior to the DD-5 in almost every way: more delay time, cleaner repeats, no background hiss, more available delay mix versus dry, lots more sounds, better sound in bypass.

The only things the DD-5 has going for it are the external tap control and the note value settings, but I normally just dail in the delay time by ear.

I wasn't expecting a lot from this pedal and mainly bought it for the tape delay simulation which is quite good. I ended up liking all the sounds and was very impressed with the low noise floor and excellect quality of the echos.

After A/B testing with the DD-5 I felt the DD-5 sounded blurry and not just the echos but even the dry sound was muffled. The Digidelay has a more Hi-Fi rackmount delay sound close to the delays in my tc electronic G-force.

Reliability : 10
Weights a lot more than a boss pedal and has a tighter feel to the knobs. They have really improved the built quality over the old DOD line. Probably the new standard compact effects build will be measured by.

well, i haven't quite figured the whole thing out yet, but i guess i'll give it a 9 on the usability... there's just too many little intricacies to this pedal (like CIT modelling and some hidden hold function at the extreme right of the repeat knob) - but as long as you've got the manual a single readthrough ought to get you through the ins and outs of every function.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
i find it surprisingly warm...
it doesn't have the regeneration that i crave, but then, this wasn't made for crazy regeneration (ie FX96; DD3).

mainly i play my '68 framus LP through a Little Big Muff Pi and then the Digi and after that, well, other delays... going stereo out into a Solec 10w Solid State from the '70s and a Yamaha 50/210 solid state.

well, i would like a second one, but that's just so i can sample the backwards delay...

Well, it?s easy to set a delay. The punch-in tap delay it?s of great help. It has different combinations of setups, so it can make it more complex, but nothing you can?t handle at.

Sound Quality : 8
Very good sound. Not noisy at all. If, like some reviews I have read, you have noise, it?s because you?re power suplying it incorrectly. I changed my power suply and now it doesn?t make any noise at all. The delays are very very good, the chorus sound it?s nice and the reverse delay it?s more fun than useful, anyway it?s ok. The loop function it?s hard to define, and I don?t think it have real useful in a real gig, but anyway it?s great to have the option. Very good delay for that price.

Well IMO the tape delay simulator is as best as your gonna get without forking over a wade of cash for a real tape echo unit. The chorus delay has a beutiful chimey spookey tone for clean arpegios. Not something you can use allot but nice for clean pickin. The loop is a joke a feature to attract kids but who cares. The reverse I dunno maybe if ya know what to do with it,but I have no use for it.The delays are nice and I'd say on par with Boss's DD-3.I like this pedal allot I run mine allmost exclusivly on the tape echo for a quick 2 repeat echo ala Jimmy Page.Me likes allot!!Just for the tape and chorus I'll give it a 9

Well it eats batteries like they are goin outta style.I'm talkin a new Duracell in like a few hours. And when it dies this thing will makes space ship noises and cut out etc... Not pretty!!!!!!!!So a power supply is a MUST.I use a visual sound daisy chain. Also the switch tends to stick once in awhile on mine and needs to be hit twice but I live with it cause of the tape delay. But also I might note that my pedal board sits in the back of our band truck year round and I'm sure moisture plays a role in that.

Well overall I'll give it a 7.5 its a great tape delay, mod delay, digital delay with a couple odd quirks. And a few usless boutique lure the kiddies features such as tap tempo,reverse,loop...but just don't use um who cares.Nice pedal I'd say if you don't mind runnin a power supply and occasionly needing to hit it off twice its better than a Boss.

piss easy to use, can't complain with it, the tap tempo is a very nifty little accessory

Sound Quality : 10
Tis a veryy nice sounding pedal, the reverse setting is pretty good, I use it with my micrphone and it's quite funny
There's next to no background noise, you can hardly hear it even if you put an overdrive pedal after the delay

Reliability : No Opinion
Yep, built like a military vehicle, a strong one

never spoke to them

Let me preface this by saying that I don't read manuals, have never owned a delay pedal, and know nothing about milliseconds, tape and echo delays or any of the technichal stuff. I like to sit in front of my amp and turn all the knobs until I figure it our. That being said, It took me about a week to figure out what everything does. It was pretty easy, really. I did end up downloading the manual from the internet, and it was pretty complete.

Here is my set up.

Epiphone LP > Fender Pedal Tuner > BigMuff Pi > MXR Phase 90 > DigiDelay > Rivera Knucklehead 2.

The effects are solid. It can sound a little plain at times, if I am doing something really simple, maybe on or two note thing, but I am mostly using it at extreme settings, for the craziest sounds possible. I really like setting it on infinite loop and cranking the phaser to the fastest setting. It's like a nightmare.

I bought this on the reccomendation from Juan Alderete the Mars Volta bassist, and I suppose if I had a couple more delays, along with about 20 other pedals, I could nail thier sound so...

One very cool thing about the pedal is when you shut it off, it keeps going for a couple of seconds, so it's not such a drastic change. I like this feature, but I could see where one would not like it.

Also, I have found this wierd setting where it sounds like I'm playing a warped 8 track tape. All delays might have this, but like I said earlier, this was my delay pdeal

I have had it for a few months now, and everything works. One of the knobs is a little scratchy, but it was like that when I bought it. I bought it from the clearence rack at Guitar Center, and I worked the guy over on price, so he told me I couldn't bring it back. No big deal, it not even that noisy.

Never called them or emailed, but the website is pretty easy to use.

I play a blend of heavier stoner rock, with a lot of ambient noise and feed back. Think Kyuss meets The Mars Volta meets Sigur Ros.

I have been playing off and on for about 14 years. I have been playing seiously for about 6.

If it was lost, I would likely get a new one, if I could find a good deal on it. But I like to expierment, so If I had to pay full price, I would likely get a Boss DD6 or something.

At first it wasn't very ease to learn how to use all the features the right, it is kind of hard to get used to the tap tempo for example. But with a little amount of time you should get used to it. And hey!!Phill Campbell of Motorhead uses it!!

The tape delay and the first three delay times are great, I don't use the Chorus delay, the reverse or the Loop mode, but it sounds a lot better than all multieffects units out there, maybe not as good as a Lexicon, but pretty close just in a little box.

Reliability : 10
It is built pretty sturdy, it is totally reliable, I don't have any replace for my pedals as I think all of them are 100% reliable.

Never dealt

I use it along a Boss Od-3, a digitech grunge, and a dunlop crybaby, it has been very useful, I don't think it sounds overprocessed, and the tap tempo feature is great!!. In my rig it is on almost every time.
