I bought this thing without the manual about 1 year ago. Ive used other effect processors, but Im still not 100% sure Ive mastered all the features on this thing. I bought it under the assumption that it would take care of all my effects problems, and therefore I could stop buying $50 effect boxes by the truckload. I was so very wrong. Its a pain to try and get ANY of these effects to sound decent and each effect has at LEAST 10 changable options(equivalent to 10 or 15 knobs on a pedal). This gets so old and frustrating. More options does not mean better(MXR pedals rock!!). The 10 pedal pedal board is a pain too. Its all around irritating, but I did figure it out, so you probably would too.

Sound Quality : 3
There is not ONE good distortion sound on this whole thing. Almost all the effcts are choppy and digital(which I actually thought was going to be a good thing before I bought this)and thin. I play through a 100w Carvin tube head and a mesa 4x12. I dont know anybody who uses this processor, and I imagine somebody could get plenty of sounds they liked out of this thing. I just found the whole thing to be weak and lame. Some of the flange and delay effects are OK though.

Reliability : 2
First of all, I would never gig with this thing. Second of all, I would be afraid of breaking the cable because Digitech cant replace the thing. It a rack mountable thin metal casing , which feels pretty flimsy. Im trying to sell the thing right now.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Its not broken, so I guess thats a point in its favor.

Overall Rating : 2
Out of the 100+ effects it has, a few are usable, and I guess it could possibly come in handy in a studio, But overall, I was very very dissapointed. It works, and it does have effects , but thats not enough. Its like owning a TV, but the only channel you have is the home shopping network. If I didnt want some of my money back, I would pull a pete townsend on this thing at a show.

I've had my Digitech since it first came out, and I bought the Pro chip to go in it later. It's pretty easy to use, but if you're not familiar with some of the terms of programming, it can be rough.

Sound Quality : 5
I use a Fender Strat and a Crate half-stack, and the sound is really good. The only problem is that I because it's digital instead of analog, you can't clean up your sound with the volume knob on your guitar. You have to change patches to do that. You basically have two volumes: loud and off.

Reliability : 10
It's been a really good road model, and I've used it for many, many gigs, opening for some of the big-timers on the club circuit these days, and in days past. Never had any problem. It's been dropped out of the back of the truck, and it dented the casing a little. But it still works just like it used to!

I have had one problem with them: Someone ripped my gig bag off and it had the cord in it for my foot pedal, and I cannot get a new one to replace it, therefore meaning I can't really use the GSP live nowadays, so I had to replace it with some other effects. My local music store couldn't get me one (after 10 months, they let me know that it was on back order), and Digitech, or DOD, or Kaman, or whoever it is said that they could only get them in limited quantities. Apparently, I'm not one of their select customers (even though I paid the $800 for the unit when it first came out).

Overall Rating : 8
I've used it for everything from ABBA to AC/DC, to Zeppelin and ZZ Top. It's got a sound for just about everything you need to play. A good unit for a gigging musician.

The paths are a bit of a pain in the ass, and having to push the arrow 7 times to get past the EQ gets old really fast. Not too bad though.

Sound Quality : 4
Great cleans. CRAPPY distortion. All clip or no gain, you decide.

Reliability : No Opinion
I bought it used for $350 as a backup, had it 2 months and it never broke. Traded it in for $50, if that's any indication.

Again, Digitech falls short on the CS side. They make some good products though. This isn't one of them.

Overall Rating : 5
A good backup if you only play clean. Pull the distortion out of it and call it an acoustic effects unit and I give it a 10.

I had no trouble getting used to the patch editing. Only complaints: No data wheel, and it's a pain going hitting the right-arrow seven times to skip the graphic EQ when it's on. :)

Sound Quality : 9
Pretty good sound. I like the reverbs, and the distortion has enough flexibility to replace a couple of foot pedals.

Reliability : 10
I've had this for seven years. I broke the output volume knob off - by dropping the box on the floor, *hard*. Got it fixed, and no problems since.

Never dealt with the company.

I've been using this since '90 or '91, I do a bit of everything, from 70's style metal to techno, and I love the sound. I use it with an IPS 33B, and they're great together.

I never had a manual for this product, but it was very simple to figure out.

Sound Quality : 5
The only problem I had with this unit was switching from a distorted channel to a clean one, and vice versa. It wasnt an immediate switch (there was a slight pause and buzz). The effects are, for the most part, easy to program to your desired settings.

Reliability : 8
I depended on this for a whole summer of rat trap gigs. It was subjected to numerous liquids (beer, rain water) and I never had a technical problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with the company.

Overall Rating : 6
I would only buy it again if there was a cleaner way to switch settings that wouldnt interrupt the settings. The only thing I really hate is that when you change settings the volume is comletely off and takes forever to adjust to the right level.
