Pretty darn easy. It has a switch that selects 3 delay times: 125 msec., 500 msec., and 2 sec. It has a delay time knob, regeneration and mix knobs, and input and output level knobs. The delay time knob increases or decreases the time indicated on the switch. So there is more than just 3 delay settings. Basically, anything between 125 msec. and 2 sec. is workable. It also has an input jack, a 9-volt adapter jack, an output jack, and a dry output jack. Don't forget the repeat delay (sample) button.

Sound isn't bad. I'm using the pedal with a Marshall Valvestate V30R. The pedal would probably sound better if I had an effects loop. The only complaint is a little distorion (again, wouldn't be there if I had a effects loop). Works great for clean, but too much delay on distortion sounds like crap.

Reliability : No Opinion
Not sure. Looks tough; it's built of metal. And it's an old model, so it's lasted until now.

Never tried'em.

Overall, it's great. Especially the price! I found at a thrift store for 5 BUCKS! Took it home and it works great. Sounds excellent for a used pedal. Works great for jazz, swing, rockabilly, blues... Not really for metal, but then again delay wasn't designed for it.

Easy to get a good sound out of this. The manual is easy to read and comes with suggested settings to get you going. You should read it if you want to use the 1002s overdub functions. The dual pedals are confusing to use - sometimes you don't know what you've just done (turned a sample on or off). It's also got dry/effected outputs, which is nice.

Two seconds of delay. Quite amazing for 1987 in a stomp box!
Nice, mellow echo & delay without the crud/tone-sucking of analog or the sterility/coldness of rackmount. Easy to nail Floyd's "Run Like Hell" with this box.

Reliability : No Opinion
Plan on changing the 9v battery before each gig. It goes through batteries fast. Better yet, use A/C power instead.

I'd really hate to lose this thing, particularly because replacing it would be hard.
