This unit is very very easy to use. I've never owned a multieffects processor before and I figured out how to make my own patches right away. It's that easy. And if you have a problems at all, the manual is great.

Well so far I haven't tried it with my BOSS MT-2 yet... I don't have too! But I'm using a Gibson Les Paul Studio > RP-300 > Marshall VS100RH amp with VS412 4x12 Cab. If you decide to get this check out patch #5. It's called "Scoop". If you're into Heavy Metal you'll love it.

I would probably use it in a gig without a backup.

Well this processor has many many patches with a good amount of distortion so if you like metal or hard rock it's for you. I'm 14 and I've been playing for about 5 years and I play a lot of punk and metal. I also play some stuff by Hendrix too. I love it! If you can't decide whether to get the RP-200 or RP-300 get the 300. Come on it's only $50 more. I would definitely recommend this product.
