Very basic chorus stuff. It didn't take me long to get the sound. With all the four knobs at twelve o'clock you're not far from my sound.

Fantastic! Compared to the boss choruses it sounds a lot richer. And it has a real stereo circut, not one wet and one dry output jack. It modulates both jacks.
I run it in stereo with two marshall heads, a JCM2000 and a JCM900, and with a microscopic amount of distortion and a some delay, it sounds amazing. Of course it works on higher gain settings as well. My only minus is that it seems to boost the signal a little bit, especially with the voice knob kranked. But hey, I can live with that.

I've owned some digitech pedals over the years, and they've never let me down. That's much of the reason why I prefer stompboxes instead of rack stuff.

I play 80's influenced heavy metal. Been playing guitar for 17-18 years now, and this is by far the best sounding chorus I've ever had. So it's bolted to my pedalboard, and it's not going anywhere. That's for sure.

4 knobs, clearly describing the purpose of each. Turn them and discover their affect upon the effect. Yeah, definitely easy. Oh! I discovered another feature when I got the manual (see customer support). The pedal can be used to go direct into a soundboard as it has a speaker emulating function (simulating a 4X10 speaker cabinet - hold the foot switch down either when plugging a cable into the input OR plugging the power supply in). I haven't tried this feature as of the time of writing this review. When/if I do test it, I'll submit another review.

Here's my setup. Bass (modified frankenstein Carvin Koa bass w/ Alembic pickups & EMG electronics) > Planet Waves pedal tuner > H&K tube factory distortion pedal > Alembic F-1X preamp > effects loop out > Zoom 506 > Digitech multi-chorus > effects loop in > Crest LT 2000 power amp > SWR MegaGoliath.
This pedal does not take away any of the tonal quality of the bass. It's thick and rich. Definitely brought the sound I was looking for to play Tool. I've found other bands songs that it lends its sound to quite nicely. When the effect is off, the bypass doesn't seem to affect the tone.

I've owned it for just over a month now, and its survived quite nicely in and out of the the bag that I put it in with my other pedals and patch cables. The knobs have hardly moved and it functions perfectly. This thing is built like a tank. I bought the optional power supply (approx $20, also at my local GC)
*note- discovered that the positive and negative wires at the power input on these units are wired in reverse. You must get the digitech power supply. At least it's a reasonable price.

I found the manual online quite easily on their ftp site (thank you google!). Any company that puts their old manuals up for free download, in my opinion, is providing excellent customer support.

I'm currently in a heavy-alternative cover band and this pedal does lend itself to several of the songs we play.
It's a good pedal, if you can find it used, you'll get it at a better price. From everything I've read about it, don't forget to buy a power supply, as it's supposed to be a battery hog. It's quality and ability to perform its' specific function are impressive! If it got stolen or lost, I'd get another to replace it.
Chalk is good.

Four knobs, two of which are the classic chorus parameters (speed and depth). This box is easy to use and is for everyone. The manual isn't really necessary to operate the box.

A great variety of sounds without any fuss or hassle. You can dial in a subtle "glassy" chorus to augment clean passages, or you can crank it up to the thick "rotary" emulation, which is my preference. The Voice knob adds layers in any sound you choose to use. The rotary effect is, to me, the best sound this box can make. I play it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and have it sequenced after my Boss DS-1 and a secret drive I can't divulge. My guitar is either a Gibson SG Classic or a Fender Strat. The rotary settings sound very close to an Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man and even retains some of the qualities of the original Roger Mayer-built Uni-Vibe that Hendrix popularized. Of course, those aforementioned pedals are both modeled after the old Leslie Rotary Speaker, known for being cumbersome and at times difficult to use. Hendrix, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Robin Trower all loved that big Rotary sound at different points in their respective careers. But this box is super affordable compared to the EH or boutique-style boxes which go for $200 and up.

This pedal has opened a strange dimension to my sound. Combined with the DS-1 and my "secret drive," I have found the rudiments of Hendrix' core sounds without the whawha. I'm not a Hendrix clone or one who sits around and just plays other people's songs, but I've always loved that early primal fuzz sound heard all over 'Are You Experienced,' and I've always dug that heady warble heard throughout the Band Of Gypsys shows. The Digitech X-Series Multi Chorus opens up tons of new possibilities for those who don't mind a very close approximation of a found sound.

If you have used other chorus effects before, then it's a piece of cake to figure out. However if you haven't used chorus before, it takes some time to figure out how the knobs change the sound. The manual is very basic, and not very descriptive, but it gives you an idea on how to work it.

This thing sounds great...that is if you use a distort pedal BEFORE the chorus. This means no use of amp gain. Before I bought the Boss DS-1 to put at the front of my setup, I tried to use the Multi-Chorus with my Crate GT-65's built-in distort. BAD idea. It sounded terrible. At first I didn't understand why it sounded so good at the store and not so good at home. I then realized that I had used a distort pedal BEFORE the chorus at the store. But when you do hook the chorus up after the distort, it sounds amazing. I bought this pedal for the purpose of getting a live Zakk Wylde type sound, and I got it!

Works great on clean, works great with overdrive, and works great for the heaviest of metal. I have only been playing for about a year, but I have done an incredible amount of research and testing on different pedals. When it comes to chorus, my top pick would be the MXR Stereo chorus box, but the DigiTech isn't far behind. I would definitely pick the DigiTech over both the Boss CH-1 and the Boss CE-5, because it has a wider range of use, plus it's ten bucks cheaper!

The level speed and depth controls are self explanitory. The voice knob affects how uniformed or varied the chorusing is. It is really easy to get a good sound out of it.

Here is my setup:
Jackson Dinky or Ibanez SZ320 -> Ibanez TS-9 -> Digitech Multi Chorus -> Boss DD-5 Digital Delay -> 15W Vox Valvetronix
The pedal that I will directly compare this to is a Marshall Supervibe. The Supervibe has a bright and shimmery type of sound. The Multi Chorus has a deeper and spongier type of sound. The Multi Chorus is a much better pedal for the following reasons:
-It hardly changes the tone of the guitar when it is turned off. The Supervibe tone controls remained active when it was switched off. The Supervibe is a real tone eater.
-This pedal does not boost the volume of the signal when turned on. (But there is a level knob that can adjust that.) The Marshall pedal did boost volume. That proved to be problematic when turning it on would cause the clean channel on my amp to distort.
-In my opinion, more settings on the Multi Chorus are useable that what the Supervibe had to offer.

Overall this pedal is a good match for many styles of music. I play lots of hard rock and heavy metal, but there are times when a chorus pedal does come in handy. I like the fact that this pedal is capable of giving lots of good sounds.

There are four knobs. Turn them till you find a sound you like. It would be nice if the manual had some more examples of some classic settings that would mimic famous songs that use a chorus.
Changing the battery is very easy and does not even require you to lift or turn over the pedal.

The sound quality is great with this pedal. With it, you can go from a subtle chorus to add warmth, to a rotary-like effect, to a screaming toneful sound (with a distortion pedal) which is perfect for lead work or solos.
My two guitars are a PRS Tremonti SE (with Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz p/u's) and an American Deluxe Strat. My setup is Guitar -> Dunlop 535 Wah -> Digitech Hotrod -> Digitech Multi-Chorus -> Digitech Digi-Delay. There is no extra noise with either guitar whether the pedal is on or off.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH BATTERIES!
Why bother with batteries when you can plug it in? In a month or so you will spend the same amount on batts as it would cost to get an AC adapter. I have all my pedals chained together. I have never had an issue with any of my Digitech pedals.
They are also extremely sturdy. If I dropped one, it would probably dent the cement floor and maybe get a slight scratch on it.

I compared the Multi Chorus to the chorus of the JC-120. The Multi Chorus is just as good to my ears, and capable of much more. There is a digital 'metallic sheen' on the effect, but nothing that can't be blunted with your guitar's tone knob or amp's EQ. It can produce unwanted noise if it's incompatible with the power supply your using. It has gone 'rotary' on me, and 'permanently on', when the battery was down to the dregs. Other than that, the Multi Chorus is quiet, flexible, and lush!

I run this through either my Fender Jaguar, or my American Strat, and it sounds VERY good. You do get a little noise from it, but it's not extremely noticable unless you are playing alone in an isolated room.
You can basically get any chorus sound you want out of it, you can also get vibro and leslie sounding effects, it has 16 chorus voices you can add on the effect, it has a level knob, Speed, and Depth.
It doesn't have the warmth of analog, but then again it's more versatile.
