Ease of Use : 9
I got the metal master about a week ago and I must say I am very impressed with the way this pedal makes my amp and guitars sound, there is a wide range of sounds avaliable from this little stompbox and all are usable for hard rock and metal. I am thinking about getting another one because I really like the morph knob at about the 9 oclock position for leads that just sing and sustain, but I also like the morph knob at the 3 oclock position for big slammin chord work, this pedal rocks hard. Very easy to use but hard to make up my mind on the sound to use because there are so many possibilties, I wish it had a gain knob though, but for full on shred I think they got it right.

Sound Quality : 9
I use an Ibanez RG550 with a super D in the bridge and PAF Pro in the neck, an Ibanez Saber with a Mega Drive in the bridge and 2 hot rails in the mid and neck position, both guitars sound great into my Twin or Johnson JM 250. I also really like that it has a cab. sim. out that sounds great into my board for direct recording.

Reliability : No Opinion
I have had no problems yet, but as I said already I have only had it for a week, have not used it at a gig yet but at band practice it sounds much better than my old Boss Metal Zone, much bigger sound.

Customer Support : 9
I have other Digitech stuff like the 2101 and TSR 24 Studio Quad, and haven't had any problems with them but the customer service guys were really helpful when I had questions about setting up my 2101.

Overall Rating : 9
I play anything from prog. rock to grind metal and some other styles but for the heavy stuff this is the shit, great for chunkin, muting, and leads, I just wish I had 2 of them so I wasn't stuck using 1 sound. I think it was well worth the price I paid and as soon as I can I will be buying another one.

4 knobs, must be an idiot if you don't know how to use it. High, Low, the morph knob which has 3 different styles of distortion, and the level knob.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a 2001 Jackson Soloist, and a Peavy VTM 120 amp head with a 412 sheffield cabinet. This pedal is a little noisy when using a wireless unit. It's nothing too outrageous. It has a great sound to it. It sounds good palm muted, and in drop D tuning.

Reliability : No Opinion
This thing is built solid. I think it could withstand the abuse of any artist. It is a stompbox, so if you get into the music and smash it, it'll take the abuse. It has a six year warranty, so i use it without a backup. This seems very reliable.

Overall Rating : 10
I play a type of grunge/metal. The pedals name says it all. It sound edgy when you palm mute, and has alot of sustain. I play through a seymour duncan loaded 2001 Jackson SL-4 soloist, and a Peavy VTM 120 amp head through a peavey 412 sheffield cabinet. This pedal helps me make the style of music i play, so it was worth the money. I think it has its own unique sound.

4 knobs volume, low eq, high eq, and the "morp knob".The morph knob changes the overal tonality of the distortion. The cool thing about it is the output that you can plug into a mixer.

Sound Quality : 7
I have tried it through a couple of amps but my main one is a crate mx120r, and it sounds great through it. overall the noise is relatively low, straight to my beherenger mixer it has a little more noise though.the sounds range from a midrangy judas preist sound, to a good deep death metal tone, with some tweaking I bet niless guitar soundia attainable, and every other type of metal tone in between.high and low eq help to enhance the setting of the morph knob.Probably the only thing about this thing is that the distortion itself is pretty much full on so you cant get any other types of sounds but if you buy this for anything but metal/rock, your an idiot.

Reliability : 8
its as well built as a boss I think.

havent dealt with them.

This distortion is one dimmensional. PERIOD.metal all the way.If you want versatility get a metal zone.but I am looking for a more uniqe sound and this is closer to it.I probably would buy it again but I might look a little first.
