As easy as using a gas pedal, takes some mastery but overall it's as easy as moving your foot up and down. Manual?? not sure if it came with one. No patches of firmware, it's not a multi-FX.

Sounds good, wah-wah. Only used it with a strat. I think everyone has used a wah.

It's heavey, i've dropped it quite a few times. if you have the 9-V adaptor, then it should stand up live, doesn't seem fragile.

I play noise/dream-pop, haven't been playing that long. If it was stolen, I'd either steal it back or, have to buy a new one. Nothing in particular I love about it. I use lots of fuzz so it can give me a dreamy woosh effect. It's basically the same thing as the VOX wah.
If you don't have it get it, you'll probably find a use for it.

My setup is as follows<Fender Stratocaster<Mod-Ts9<Crybaby Classic< '65 RI Super Reverb. You can get about any tone you can think of w/ this pedal. Run it after a Ts9, perfect for SRV!
Run it w/ a good fuzz(Dallas Arb.,) you can get the sounds of hendrix! Or if you like hard rock this pedal works miracles under heavy distortion! The only thing i've had wrong w/ my is that it used to make a fffffffttt... sound when i rocked back and forth, but that problem was easily corrected.

I pretty much play Blues (Albert King,Srv,Clapton) with a little hendrix-esque rock. I've been playing 30 years and this is the best wah other than the original that i've played. If it was stolen I would Definetly buy another! I compare it to the Original $69 Crybaby ,and the 535Q this one has the best sound for me. Does not clutter up your sound when running it w/ other pedals like the others in a lower price range. Best Buy for the Buck!!

Good overall and true-bypass which is a huge bonus for the price tag and a must for tonal purest such as myself. The only complaint I have right now is that it makes a bit of a scratchy noise which is likely due to a bad pentometer (easily replaced and cheap if you know how to solder).
In the future I plan to uprgade the pedal with high quality capcitors, resistors etc. but I have to say that as a base unit, with the Fasal incuctor and true-bypass it is a very good buy.

Only issue is the afformentioned pentomiter. Not really a bid deal and I expect it to last a long time.

I play blues mostly with a jazzy edge and some rock. Great with a good clean amp tone and very good with a Fuzz Face or a Tubescreamer fed INTO it (i.e. distortion first). It should be noted that it doesnt suffer from the typical volume drop that a lot of wahs do when they are on. I actually get a slight volume boost which is very cool.

well, i knew it was all pcb inside. that didn't bother me too much as i would be leaving my cables plugged in all the time due to the fact that my wah pedal isn't the first pedal in my effects chain. if i knew that i'd be pulling cables in and out of this thing every time i were to play, i'd never purchase one. it's pretty sad that if a jack craps out, that you can't repair/replace it yourself because the jack mounts right on the pcb board. it's all about cost cutting these days, isn't it folks? anyway, after about a week's use i started to get this scratchy sound ONLY when i rocked the pedal fast. slow, no problems or noise. my first guess was a bad pot. i took the pot out and quickly soldered in the pot from my old vox wah (that isn't scratchy) and it still gave me that scratchy sound when i rocked fast. very strange. then, a day later, it started another new trick- in the toe-up position notes now fart out or don't sound at all. garbage. they don't make 'em like they used to. they'd like you to think that they do by featuring the fasel inductor but even that can't save this cheaply made toy.

just what i expected from a large company. i should've known better and just spent 75 bucks more and gotten the rmc wizzard wah. actually, that's what i'll be doing. i'm going on two weeks now since i emailed dunlop for help. no response. i just re-sent the email today. i'm not holding my breath.

Ibanez Artcore as73 > Dunlop Classic Crybaby > Visual Sound H2O liquid chorus echo > Ibanez FZ-& Fuzz > Boss DS-1 distortion > Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
This pedal delivers amazing sounds with my setup. I use it with my chorus, echo, and a clean tone to get an underwater sound, or i can use it with my amp's distortion to get a modern rock sound, or through my fuzz to get a hendrix, psycadelic sound. Great variety of uses. I can set it one position to create artificial harmonics on the chords i'm playing, too, which adds a little icing to any song's cake.

This is the best wah I've used. Granted, I've only tried this and a regular crybaby. It is a lot warmer than the standard crybaby. Also, it responds better in overdriven situations, which is good for me because I don't believe in clean sounds. That is why I use analog recording and delay.

Well, for the mix of all-things rock with all-things blues that I do, this is the perfect wah. It allows you to get a lot closer to the Hendrix sound than the regular crybaby. Plus, it has the Fasel. How could you go wrong. The Fasel rocks. I think I use the wah too much, now.

This is the Crybaby Classic model.
(By the way, for those looking for reviews, there are two review pages for this wah, one page called "classic crybaby" and called the "crybaby fasel." Both pages are misnamed--it's the Crybaby Classic. Just so that's cleared up.)
Very easy to use. It's a wah; no knobs or anything.
Easier to get a great sound out of this one that the standard Crybaby. Easier to switch on/off than a standard Crybaby I used to own, but that might just be coincidence.

In my opinion the Crybaby Classic blows the standard Crybaby away. I didn't find the standard Crybaby that useful, and thought it sounded like an icepick. This wah has a sweet top end and is very lush! I know that's the word Dunlop is using to advertise it, but it's true. It's a very lush wah sound!
With a good fuzz (or distortion) in front of it, it's crazily good! Thick and creamy with all sorts of great sounds!
Depending on your foot work, you can make it very abrupt or get a longer sweep. It's useful and usable all along the sweep.
I really liked the sound of this wah. The standard Crybaby pedal I had was thin and bright and didn't have good characteristics. This one is very sweet!!! It only costs maybe $20 more to get this wah instead of the Crybaby, and it's _well_ worth it!
Also, it should be noted that the Crybaby Classic has hard-wire true-bypass. Another great upgrade, and it's a must if you care about tone. It wont suck your tone or muddy up your tone when in your pedal chain, something I remeber my standard Crybaby used to do.

Pretty tough casing, looks and feels like a solid pedal. Operates smoothly.
Like any other pedal/pedal-maker, occasionally there might be one that doesn't work right, but the Dunlop pedals are very solid.

Never dealt with Dunlop's customer support. I don't think I'll have to. There's not much that can go wrong with it--a volume pot, dc jack, etc, and I can do some wiring work if ever need it. But I really don't expect there to be an issue with the pedal.

The Classic Crybaby is the best out of all their ridiculous line of wahs with various swithces, chrome, camoufloge, bells, whistles, etc. It has the legendary Fasel inductor, and I must say...this makes it noticably different than the others, and more like a Vox or Colorsound wah wah...in other words, it has more of a throaty, phleghmy, quacky, back -of-the-throat HONK...perfect for funk, or rock n' roll in the nasty 1970's style. This wah wah RULES, dude! I play a Les Paul and Telecaster through tube amps and it's all good, hot, and NASTY!

This is run through a Marshall stack, along with a BC Rich Virgin and is excellent for any Slayer or Metallica-esque solos.
Run through a clean amp setting (with a slight hint of gain) this is also excellent for clean-tone funk licks and riffs.

In the 4 yrs I've had this, I can safely say that wah is the sweetest toned effect you could add to an effects chain and if your pre-amp settings are correct, as a grind/thrash guitarist I rely on wah for those solos and should I ever part with this pedal, I'd cry.

I use a Fender double fat strat (stock)>Boss Blues driver>classic crybaby>Hughes and Kettner Duotone Combo. I had a Mr crybaby super Wha/Volume, then bought a regular reissue crybaby. I started modding it to get the sound I wanted, (true bypass, changing resistors for more vocal sweep) all to get the sound that THIS pedal makes. The biggest issue w/ the other pedals was lack of true bypass. So when I saw this pedal come out w/ the original fasel inductor and true bypass I sold my modded wha and got this one. THe pedal doesnt effect the sound in my experience and I am a big stickler for tone. The treble end hardly has any extra brightness. U can tell its on when U switch everything on for the 1st time but when playing U cant really hear any extra treble. Nice vocal qulity, I play in a disco band and a rock band. I love the clean wha as well as the distortion. For clean I think the best wha sound EVER is on The Bee-Gees "Night Fever" and for distortion Ive always loved the wha on G'N'R's Mr. Brownstone. I get pretty close to both of these. The pedal does have a slight boost when the effect is on. This is good in the rock band, its less noticable, Bad in my disco band cause it tends to make my guitar TOO loud.
The only real prob I have and I would like to hear if anyone else has trouble w/ this. When using it on the clean channel, (and this has been the case w/ the regular cry baby, the wha/volume, and the classic.) when I rock the pedal all they way back , the sound distorts. Mainly on chords. I have tried fresh batteries. lowering the bass on the channel, but this affect my overall sound, when I had this prob w/ the original cry baby, (before the mods) I wanted to see if it was the pedal so I bought a new one at guitar center straight out of the box, just going guitar>wha>amp, different cables and tried w/ several guitars. the new pedal did the same thing. (thanx to guitar center for their 30 day refund policy.)
the best thoery I can come up w/ is when using chords (like 9th chords) w/ a high powered pickup or combination of pickups it slams the input of the pedal and w/ all the treble out it is too bassy for the pedal to handle. my double fat strat has a setting for the 2 inner cols of the humbuckers and this setting causes the distortion, My Strat also has a switch for the innner coil of the neck humbucker alone but its a seymour duncan 59 and its pretty hot and has alot of bottom end. I can get it to go away if I roll back the volume but I have to roll it back so mcuh that it starts to cut the treble in the pickups. Have spoken to dunlop about this and they wern't much help. the only single coil guitar I have is a Dimarzio Blue Velvet in the center position of an Ibanez RG570. this pickup doesnt seem to do it as much but its a bright pickup in a floyd rose guitar which is pretty bright so it doesnt distort it but the guitar tone isnt good.
Please email me if U have had this prob and/or have a solution.
Give the pedal a 10 since Im am pretty sure the distortion is related to my signal chain.

Spoke to them when my original crybabys switch went out. they sent me 3 switches for free since i know how to solder. Very cool of them.
Spoke to them about the distortion and basically they told me to try fresh battery, when I told them I did, they basicaly said "We dunno"
But they must have been listening when all the people (including me) were modding their crybaby's to get this sound so props to them for that

best wha I've ever used. I love the sound of the old disco/70's funk wha, this nails it. Great on distortion too.
