Dunlop Classic Crybaby

The poti was dirty with to much of oil, so i cleaned it up, after that it was fine. Its a great wah pedal for roots-blues and classic Rock.
works best clean or with mild overdrives. Not a metal-alternative thing !!!
Its THAT classic tone we all have in mind when we talk about vintage sound.
But im not allways in that mood, so I try another Wah for my style.
For the "classic tone" its a 9, for the Heavy Rock thing its a 7.
seems like an 8.

The oily poti sucks. but thats all I can say about it after 2 years of abusing.

I have owned(over the years) SEVERAL Dunlop products and NOT ONCE have I ever had to contact them---which just goes to show you how incredibly reliable there stuff is!!
Given their wonderful reputation I am certain if I ever do need them they will be nothing but extremely helpful!

I play rock,Blues,some jazz,some harder stuff and a whole lot in between.I have been playing for 30+ years now.I have Gigged all over from the most beautiful of venues to the rowdiest of dives to the backyard keg party to weddings,school reunions,private functions--you name it and I've played it.Through out my entire career I have ALWAYS had a Wah pedal in my arsenal and through out my ENTIRE career it has always been a Dunlop---I have played and owned several diff. versions and I have to say the Classic is THE BEST!!There is something about that Fassel inductor not to mention true bypass!Yes there are MANY to choose from, I know a few guys who love the Fulltone Clyde and hey Fulltone makes great stuff(Like I said I use the OCD in my rig)but C'mon you want to pay over two hundred dollars for a Wah pedal?If it gets stolen or bites the dust or whatever you are out big bucks.If you want GREAT tone,Realiability,Dependability and for under $100.00 this is it.Get one and enjoy---Life is too short to wear tight shoes!!

Ease of use: it's a wah pedal. It doesn't get much easier than this. It does require a bit of pressure to turn on and off, but I actually like it because it prevents me from accidentally turning it off with "spirited" use. It does require rocking the pedal a bit to activate it twice; it would be nice if this weren't the case, but it's obviously a limitation of the button used. I wish they hadn't used a button that requires so much travel to release, but it's a minor complaint.

The 9V is on the left side, below the output jack if you're looking down at it. There's no excuse for placing it here. They probably did this for packaging and ease of manufacturing. The problem is that this sits at the end of my line of pedals, which are all plugged into a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2, so I could really use a longer cord to plug the Crybaby in (Voodoo Labs is happy to accommodate any kind of need for power adapter cords, so this is simply a matter of calling them up and paying a few bucks for another one).

Pedal travel is good, I'd say probably one of the best I've ever tried. I briefly owned a Digitech Whammy reissue (tried it out for a few days before returning it) and this seems to travel about twice as far. I really felt like the Whammy did not have enough travel to allow for fine tweaking; the Crybaby in comparison feels just right (travel is not excessive, either). It also feels a bit looser than the Whammy (though, if I remember correctly, that might be adjustable on the Digitech), but again, it doesn't stray to the other side of the spectrum, as this pedal stays where I put it without being a pain to rock. I think that the feel of the pedal action is literally perfect. I'm not sure if any of these parameters are adjustable, as I have not had the desire to adjust them.

It stays put no matter where I put it: carpet, tile, wood, etc. Most of my other pedals aren't hefty enough to keep from moving a bit when laying on thick carpet.

For ease of use, I give it a ten. Plug it in, step on it, and play away. It doesn't get any easier.

Sound quality: let's start off with some gear. I've got a Squier Strat with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge, some various other pedals, a Peavey Classic 50 amp, and a small Behringer 15-watt practice amp. I mention the Behringer because I actually played the Dunlop with that amp for a while before I was able to pair it up with the Peavey.

Plugged into the solid state Behringer, it sounded as awesome as a solid state practice amp could. I was very satisfied with the purchase and I thought it sounded better than many other wahs that I've heard.

But then I plugged it into the Peavey tube amp, and became a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it sounds pretty decent, but at high volumes it seems quite a bit harsh on any setting. When set to the heel, the low end seems a bit flatter than I'd like. When set to the toe, the highs seem a little too loud. And whenever the pedal is on, it pumps up the volume significantly. I'm going to look into possibly modifying the pedal to see if I can improve the sound.

I used to keep my BBE Sonic Stomp on the end of my pedal chain, as it seems to improve just about any pedal I can plug in before it, but the Crybaby sounds even worse before the Sonic Stomp. It multiplies the harshness of the pedal. Just moving it behind the Sonic Stomp was a big improvement.

Don't get me wrong, there are some wicked sounds that come out of the amp when I turn on the Crybaby along with my Synth Mangler pedal, but I'd prefer a little bit smoother sound when I don't have the fuzz pedals on.

For sound quality, I'd rate this a 6. In my opinion, 5 is average, so this is above average. It sounds as good or better than most wahs I've played with, but I'm confident you could find a better one if you spent some time and a bit more money. More of a 6.5, really.

Reliability: feels very solid. Nice heft to it, without being excessively heavy. I've had it for about 6 months now and use it almost every day. I've never had a problem with it. Seems very sturdy and I doubt it would ever give me any problems.

Customer support: never tried it.

I bought this new, I think, from Guitar Center for 80 bucks. I say "I think" because Guitar Center didn't give it to me in a box, they just pulled it out of their display case. The sticker on the bottom says "List $210.30", but I find it hard to believe they would list this for such a high price. Still, I'd probably pay at least $100 for a sturdy wah that plays this good and sounds this decent.

The biggest pluses about this wah are that it's cheap, it sounds pretty good, and it's simple. I really wanted a GigFX Kilo-wah... and I would still love to try one, but after buying this pedal, I was glad that I saved some money and got something simple. This pedal looks good, feels good, and sounds pretty good, and there's no complications or settings to fool with (this might be bad if you like options, but I prefer simplicity as I'm usually left fiddling with things forever if I have too many).

Overall, I don't think it's perfect, but it's very much worth the price I paid, if not even a little more.

Easy on/off switching when compared to the Vox V847. Other than that it's just a matter of getting used to the sweep. If you want to set the wah at a certain point in the sweep, it will hold it's place and not slide on it's own.

This is a great sounding wah, depending on what you want. I ran this wah right beside the Vox V847 to compare. The Classic has WAY better low end response if you want your wah tone to growl and have some power. The VOX was more "chirpy" with a much higher frequency range. For the the Classic won out because of the better bass response. It can be a little muddy at times and for the the sweep could go a little higher but it sounds amazing for almost every style of music. I'd say better for dirty blues than funk though. The sound fits into a mix nicely. When the pedal is off, I noticed no tone sucking at all. Very quiet and no mechanical noise in the signal. I have no idea if the Fasel thing makes any difference. Doesn't much matter to me as long as I like it.

So far so good. I would think it would be difficult to break the frame of this.

I generally use my Classic for blues. It hits both rhythm and lead parts nicely. I play a Strat through a TS9 into a Deluxe Reverb and it sounds great. More of a subtle sweep than other wahs which I enjoy. It doesn't completely take over your tone. Again, a slightly higher sweep range would be good at times but it's perfect for almost everything. Both this and the V847 are great wahs. Try them both and pick the one that suits your sound.

Straightforward to use. No adjustments. Very poor placement of the AC adapter jack that is next to the amplifier jack on the left side panel. They missed on this one. Poor design. Requires alot of foot pressure/a good stomp to engage/disengage the pedal.

Decent sound although this is my first, last, and only wah so I have no other wah for comparison. Sounds fine enough to me. Somewhat signal robbing when engaged and pedal is back. My search for a wah is over as I'll keep this one. Perhaps I'll send this one to Keeley for his enhancements.

Good wah pedal especially for the price I paid for it used. Plain, good, and simple to use. I checked out some custom wahs that were hundreds of dollars more than this one. IMO way too much $$$ to spend on a wah pedal.

This pedal is nice because no adjustments. I rather be playing my guitar than having to continually fuss around with controls knobs and adjustments. The used guitar equipment market is great because of the many folks with G.A.S. who endlessly buy, try, and then sell away perfectly good almost new guitar stuff for less than the going street price.

It's a dunlop wah, not really practical to use, you have to push forward until the pedal clicks. The AC input isn't centered so i had to remove a part of the case so the cable would plug.

I bought this because i thought the normal crybaby sounded very simple, and yes this one sounds good... but that's it. I think the bass end is very limited, and this one's good for accentuate the mids and highs and that's it. When you turn it on, the highs in your signal get boosted and that's a little bit annoying but lets you know when it's on. If you want wah tones like metallica's Kirk Hammet i think this one is what you're looking for.

It produces hiss everytime, running or AC or batteries. And sometimes, it grabs radio stations and you can hear them. I have tried with 3 different set ups and the same problem in all.

I've had this wah for 2 years now because i can't afford another one. It sucks. First of all, sometimes when you turn it on, you'll lose your signal. Why? Don't know. You just get a hiss and you have to turn it on and off until it's fixed. This is very annoying and it has happened to me live, ruining songs. Everybody tell me to throw this one away but i have nothing to replace it with...
The AC jack is defective and i had to remove a part of it so i could plug an AC adapter. But well the first reason is enough to not use it live.

There isn't customer support in my country.

This wah was cool when i bought it until i discovered the many flaws it has. I got it because some package company lost my MXR blue box and in exchange the store offered me this or the original crybaby. What a mistake, i should have taken the money and go for a morley wah. I was also thinking of a Crybaby Q but now i know how dunlop products are defective i won't buy anything for them ever again.

Easy Peazy, On or off no confusion with settings

A real sexy sweet tone, you can achieve the wah effects heard on the songs Dave Berry the crying game or breads guitar man. along with heaps of other classics. The wah has a kind of b in front of it, like Bwahhhh. sweeet.HERES A TIP when i got it out of the box there was this slight dirtiness in the clean mode a little crackle amplified with the use of overdrive, after a spell of disappointment with my new toy, i got some inox (like WD40 or any other contact cleaner.) and gave the pot (thing that moves and creates the electronic wah effect)a jolly good spraying, and after that, a completely smooth effect. I do also experience a low in the neck pickup position that vibrates the monkeys out of my amp but apparently you can adjust the position with the pot, ill give that a go.

Shure there is Buddwha and the others but this is so sweet after the "mini-mod" you just open the back of the wha and set the slider one notch back ,and you wont believe the sound.

I've tried Morley and Behringer to no avail. Always looked for that rich, deep wah. This baby has it. Fasel inductor - must be the secret. Is a little bit of a tone sucker when ON but that's my only complaint. Really easy to use.

As mentioned, this unit has a really nice wah effect. Your tone gets very trebly when its ON but the wah effect is cool.

Had it for a month - so far so good. Battery life is excellent.

So far this is the best sounding wah that I've used. Great pedal for the price.

Easy to use, I like the sweep range because it's not too wide, not too narrow. It has nice peak to it, and thankfully free from the "vomit" tone.

I felt compelled to write this review after my experience ripping out the guts and trying a drop in dyi kit from an online company that I will leave nameless. When I first bought this pedal, I figured I don't really use a wah too much and it was good enough. I thought it really sounded pretty good. I had only one complaint which I still do, and that your sound seems to get a tad small when you kick it on. Strangly, you don't notice this at all until you shut if off. Anyway, this kit sounded like crap, those nameless guys need to go through their circuit do some major work. So put the guts back in this one and felt like I was back home again. It really sounds good, with a very vocal, very voodoo chile approve tone. All this despite the creepy surface mount technology. The by-pass is supposed to be true hardwire by-pass, but I still feel it somehow alters my tone. However, in my particular rig, it alters it for the better. The kit I tried also had a DPDT switch but ate gobs of tone in by-pass. So my theory is that despite the DPDT switch I think the signal still runs around some traces on the board on the way to the output jack in by-pass and some slight weirdness happens to it from capacitive coupling effects etc. Maybe I'm wrong.

Jacks are mounted to the board which is a fact of life in mass produced stuff these days. My advice is use a right angle jack to plug in if it's all the way on the right of your pedal board. Oh and my little invention I wanted to share for mounting a wah on a pedal board, forget velcro. Go to a hardware store and get longer bolts to replace the ones that screw into the feet. Run them right through the bottom of your wood pedal board into the wah, leaving the rubber feet on. They act like lock washers and the pedal feels SOOOO solid when you kick it on and use it. So as for reliability, I haven't had a problem with the pot yet or anything else. So I give it an N A

I've e-mailed dunlop before and got fairly fast responses to tech questions. I think these guys are pretty good despite all the flak they get as huge mass-production company.

I would probably try something else if it was stolen, probably get a real vintage one so I could have some fun tinkering. But overall, I think this is a terrific wah and was very well voiced and designed. I guess there must be something to that fassel inductor, because it's hard to feel like you get any mojo out of microscopic surface mount components. I'm giving it a 9 only because I'm sure there are no shortage of boutique wahs out there that would sound better. But again, if you want a great sounding wah which just the right amount of quack and tight response, and don't want to descend into vintage mania, get this and be done with it. I tried my friends slash wah which I thought was really lame compared to this so I really think this one is very, very good, especially compared to other mass produced cheap wahs.

I had been keen to get a wah, but didn't like the sounds of the ones I tried (Morley, other crybaby models, Vox, Boss PW-10 yik!) but as soon as I played this one - it sounded right just like my favourite recordings. Those faesels work! I play a bog standard MIA strat and a Maton with HB's (SG style)with different pedals in to a 3 channel (clean, fat and sick) Mesa Boogie Nomad 55 amp. With the strat the wah sounds almost excellent (can be a shrill in the high frequency part of the sweep)with the humbuckers (PAF type output) its superb. As already mentioned, the bass part of the sweep seems quite long and the treble cuts in suddenly towards the end - but its ok to work with. I am keen to try the adjustment mentioned in Green Tea 4 Me's review might boost my opinion to a 10.
It works with clean or distorted amps.

A have been playing it for 6 months with no problems. It looks and feels bullet proof. Backup - I don't think so.

Never had to deal with the company - seems to be plenty of parts around.

I love to play jazz funk, lush atmospheric stuff, blues, heavy blues, rock hell even death metal. It seems to work regardless of how you abuse the guitar signal (hell its great for controlling feedback freakouts!!).
If it were stolen - I would get another in a flash (after serving out the appropriate retribution to the perp of course).
I love its simplicity and warm sound, it sounds like your feeling when you play - very expressive I guess.
The not so good things - its a little peakey with single coils - especially through a clean amp and can be a bit mushy in the bottom frequencies but it sounds like its tweakable - yay.
An LED would be useful - but its no biggie at all.

Try one - they are a sweet wah.

This is my third wah; I also have a Vox reissue which I've had for 12 years or so and an Original silver label/old logo Dunlop Crybaby from maybe 1989 or 1990 (I won't be talking about that one much here).

To get true bypass and a Fasel inductor in a package costing around $100 is pretty awesome. The Vox isn't too bad on tone suckage, but the Original Crybaby, per its reputation, does knock off a little of high end on a bypassed signal. So right there the Classic rules the roost.

To my ears, the Classic is a little less refined and "dirtier" than the Vox. The Vox has a very smooth sweep from heel to toe. I actually had to tweak the pot a bit in the Classic to find the sweet spot (if your wah is too muddy/trebly, you can push the gear strip out of the way temporarily on most wahs and fine tune the pot by hand...for some reason I don't hear about a lot of reviewers trying this trick when they complain about their wahs). The bass end of the travel is a bit too wide for me and it seems like it takes too long to get the trebly end. Once finding the sweet spot, I was really impressed. The Classic has a rounder, thicker wah than the Vox. Adding my Fulltone '69 in front of it really made it sing.

On clean tones, there is just the slightest bit of dirt using the Classic, while the Vox is extremely clean....maybe even a little too clean. I wish the Classic was a bit cleaner, but the hint of dirt seems to add to the overall heft of gooey-ness of the Classic so it's not a bad trade-off.

Looks pretty good...definitely made better than the Original Crybaby and that thing has lasted a long time. I actually don't like the battery door on the bottom...makes the whole thing seem structurally compromised somehow....guess I'm old fashioned.

Fuzzy classic rock? Check. My Bloody Valentine wannabe freakouts? Check. Twangy old school country? Check. We could go on for a while here.

I'm only recently re-discovering the wah pedal after mostly shelving it for a couple of years. I got the Classic because I wanted something true bypass and I also wanted to try something different and figure out what the whole Fasel thing was all about. For $99, I think this thing is a great buy...it would probably cost the same or more just to do all that to a regular Crybaby. The Fasel really does make a difference to my ears. I think this is a great deal, and worth the extra $30 over a normal Crybaby.

The Vox costs the same and if I were trying the two out for the purpose of choosing one to buy it's hard to say which one I'd go with based purely on tone, especially considering I had to tweak the Classic a bit to get it where I like it. I haven't done anything with Vox except change the battery. In the end I'd probably go with the Classic because even before going to work on it I dug the fat, vocally quality. When you add true bypass and everything else, it's no contest. Close call tonally, though.

I have a CryBaby Hendrix ( to muddy ) and a Morley Tremonti Wah
( great for Metal lead lines, but the mid frequencies are missing and its very modern sounding with much highs...Its like comparing a Mesa Rectifier with a Marshall Plexi !! ). Also I played the standart Gcb 95 wich is nice but with "something is missing" in the ears. And
the classic cry Baby has that "feel" of perfect musician style, maybe thats the fasel ? great in clean and overdrive styles, I dont notice a dramatic sound influence when its off or on. I play it since 8 years as my standart Wah and have it everytime on Board. Sure you can play Hendrix, Slash or Metallica styles when the other equipment is right ( You cant have Hendrix sounds with a paula and Slash sounds with a strat ). And so I do, playing a mix of all.
I play the Wah direkt in the input of my Engl Screamer, Marshall Plexi and Rivera chupster, with a 70 Strat or a std. Paula. sounds great...but now I get a bit tired and orderd a Slash Wah, but its still my No.1 Wah. I love it.

I giged a lot with it and use it every day without any problems, its very solid build.

I play Hendrix meets Slash, Kirk Hammet and Paco de Luca in my own style and this one works. A lot of shit is coming under my feets all the years and the most is gone at ebay, but never this unit.
I play 20 years and yes, I buy it again, I play 2 - 5 Gigs a month and every year I visit the studio, Im a under paid pro.
I love that simple using and that great sound.
Yes its one of the effects that realy help making some music.

With this wah pedal, I can get all the classic sounds from the old days, 60's... you know what I mean.It is also great for modern rock,metal,grunge,etc...It is one great pedal, and the Fasel inductor is such a blessing...Alhamdulilah!!!

This pedal absolutely rocks my music either when I am rocking it or notching it at a certain harmonic. It blasts with distortion, fuzz, or overdrive. It works well with my Deluxe Electric Mistress and Small Stone too!

Press with your toe to turn it on and go! If you can tap your foot you have the aptitude.

I use various guitars. My current #1 is a modified 1998 Mexican Squier Standard Stratocaster, close second would be an Agile AL-2000 Les Paul copy which will soon overtake the Strat, btw.

Amp is currently a VHT Pittbull Super Thirty, sometimes a Peavey Classic 50 (4x10" speakers). Only other effect is a DigiTech Bad Monkey tube overdrive.

The sound quality is incredible, especially for the price. I haven't owned any wah pedals in the past but I have played with a number of them. It is very expressive and voiced with a lot of character. No unwanted noises have been noticed thus far. When switched off, the true bypass wiring doesn't affect your tone at all. True bypass is a modification that most people do to wah pedals that don't already have it. So this is a good feature to have if you don't do wiring.

I give it a 9 in this category only because I haven't heard vintage models from the past to compare it to. In person, anyway.

It is as solid as an armored truck. And probably equally as bullet-proof too. But it is too good to shoot it to find out for sure.

I play blues, blues rock, hard rock, some metal and this pedal fits all of those styles. Depending on how you use it, you can use it for any style.

I've been playing for 10 years, almost entirely self taught. I haven't owned much gear compared to some people I know but I choose my gear wisely and utilize what I have. This pedal will be utilized much of the time not only because it sounds good, but because I don't collect gear... I play it.

My only complaint is that I thought the pedal would have more range of motion. It only moves about an inch-and-a-half or so at the toe. It really isn't a big deal and it doesn't affect the sound quality at all. If anything it makes the wah sound a bit more abrupt without the risk of developing tendonitis. If it were less abrupt it wouldn't "wah" as easily and would probably just make a weird swelling sound. But an extra half-inch would have been cool in my opinion.

It not only sounds like a wah, but it's the wah pedal that all others are compared to. So my complaint in the paragraph above really doesn't make much difference. But I give it a 9 because I think an extra half inch of motion would have made it feel better.

Its simple. Move it up and down and it wah wahs or how haows accordingly.(how hoaws being what i call the sound it makes when a quick backwards motion is made after a tiny downward motion). At practice I couldnt hear if it clicked or not so I would just push the shit out of it, that techniques seems to work.

Im using my schecter omen 6(not stock, dimebucker in bridge) through a few distortions into this and then right to my cheap no name amp.
For those who dont wah much(or at all) putting a wah in front of distortion makes it weaker, and behind it makes it stronger.I eventually want to get another to put one in each position. But I typically prefer the stronger sound.

This has a great range, one of the best Ive heard thus far.Its a very pronounced wah sound, it doesnt feel watered down at all. I compared it when originally buying it to all the other dunlop crybabys(except the crybaby from hell, they had none) and in my opinion it had a better sound then the rest.

On a clean setting its allright but at certain spots gives a real bright sound, too bright for my tastes.I simply adjusted my technique so I didnt hit that spot.

Havent had it that long, but my other dunlop/mxr stuff lasts and lasts.

This is basically the standard of wahs, as far as Ive heard. Which is funny because when I originally tried a crybaby I thought they sucked, turned out I tried the new model.Since this ones designed exactly like they were before, its great.The only thing that compares might be a vox, but my vox crapped out after a year, so be wary. Like I said I plan on buying another unless i find the crybaby from hell sounds better, either way ill have one in front and one behind the distortion.Its not used much, because I play heavy, but when its used, even adding a little wah can make a song sound a lot more dynamic.

Very easy to use. There are no knobs on the unit to complicate things, you just press the toe end of the pedal down to activate. Well designed so you can't accidentally turn the wah off whilst using the effect. Replacing batteries is easy as well.

My setup is:

Squier Affinity Stratocaster -> Crybaby Classic Wah -> Marshall AVT50 with Channel Footswitch.

The wah sounds great on either the clean or overdriven channels. The unit isn't noisy at all and is true bypass so doesn't detract from the (very little) tone I get from my guitar. I mainly play Red Hot Chili Peppers style music and the wah works very well within that style of music. It sounds really vintage, you can really get the sound of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and it also sounds good with RHCP's Get on Top.

I've not had the pedal long enough to really comment on reliability, though it certainly looks sturdy and well built.

Really great wah wah, I love it and would probably buy another if it was stolen or broken. I've been playing guitar for around three years now and compared with the Original Crybaby and a Ruby Wah i've tried it comes out on top in terms of sound - it's a really rich, lush wah wah sound. Great.

My setup is :

1983 MIa Std strat > Ts808 overdrive clone > CRYBABY CLASSIC wah > Fender HRDlx preamp > Dod fx-65 chorus > Fender HRDlx power amp.

i just switched from their Jimi Hendrix Wah, to which i switched from the regular crybaby. the regular crybaby was to shrill at the top. the hendrix wah was to deep voiced and made it dead toward the bottom. i was goning to buy a VOX but this wah had a much better sound.

IMO it sounds better than the vox, morley or buddah . all of which i tested side by side today. the tone on the classic is harmonically richer and vocal, i guess that fasel inductor really works.

My other wahs used to sound better with the overdrive pedal with gain from 4 to 6 and volume around 2.5. if i do this with the old pedals they would become slightly more harmonic, and there wouln't be a output level drop. as long as i managed to pull of the Stand-on-the-wah-while-you-turn-on-the-od-pedal Move. With this wah i can use the od pedal for what i originaly bought it for: a "clean" boost. the new wah does not drop volume wen turned on, to my ears it actually sounds slightly boosted. my bassist agrees cause he said everytime i had the wah on he couldn't hear himself. and he plays a mesa bass 400+ a 500 watt monster of a head,while i play my lil HRDlx 1x12 40 watter.

in Summary it sounds fregging awesome
the only reason that i have it an 8 is that i've never played with an orignal fasel equiped pedal(vintage ones) or any boutique pedals like the Teese rmc series. and i must take into consideration that they might be better

both my old dunlop wahs where tanks , taking abuse with the described switching move described above, and they naver had a problem. this new one is a much easier switcher and is using the same bullet proof case. it must be a tank as well. this gets a 10 from previous experince with dunlop pedals.

best sounding wah i've played, fits right into my style( i mean it's a wah ,it could be succesfully used in almost any style of guitar based music) If it was stolen id buy another one , prob sell some of my other pedals to be able to get it soon after the loss.

this gets a 10 considering the fact that it cost $10 more that the regular crycrap, and the same as the insult that is the jimi hendrix wah. and it's at least 3 times the pedal

Very easy to use, A nice versatile wah wah. You control the speed and the size. The Manual explains it all.

Superb wah wah, before I bought, I tried out a shit load of wah wahs, Morleys, Boss, Digitech, Different Dunlops, and the classic cry baby wah sound beautiful, couldnt ask for anything more.

Hell yeah I can depend on it, I always use live when I play.

I havent had any problems with this pedal at all.

I play metal. With my Marshall, my boss metal zone and different distortion peadals it sounds incredible. I also play funk, reggae, soul, r & b, and that "pimp" style music just to mess around with it... lol

Does what its supposed would give it 10 out of 10 but i would prefer a great wah range or spectrum as the sound could be more dramatic for my liking

A good standard wah pedal but i would prefer an LED on it like on the Snarling Dogs or Boss wahs,also i feel the sound could be more wide and exagarated.

As easy as using a gas pedal, takes some mastery but overall it's as easy as moving your foot up and down. Manual?? not sure if it came with one. No patches of firmware, it's not a multi-FX.

Sounds good, wah-wah. Only used it with a strat. I think everyone has used a wah.

It's heavey, i've dropped it quite a few times. if you have the 9-V adaptor, then it should stand up live, doesn't seem fragile.

never used them, if it breaks I would just fix it my self.

I play noise/dream-pop, haven't been playing that long. If it was stolen, I'd either steal it back or, have to buy a new one. Nothing in particular I love about it. I use lots of fuzz so it can give me a dreamy woosh effect. It's basically the same thing as the VOX wah.

If you don't have it get it, you'll probably find a use for it.

Just step, click,and shred! just that simple!

My setup is as follows<Fender Stratocaster<Mod-Ts9<Crybaby Classic< '65 RI Super Reverb. You can get about any tone you can think of w/ this pedal. Run it after a Ts9, perfect for SRV!
Run it w/ a good fuzz(Dallas Arb.,) you can get the sounds of hendrix! Or if you like hard rock this pedal works miracles under heavy distortion! The only thing i've had wrong w/ my is that it used to make a fffffffttt... sound when i rocked back and forth, but that problem was easily corrected.

Its built like a tank.

I pretty much play Blues (Albert King,Srv,Clapton) with a little hendrix-esque rock. I've been playing 30 years and this is the best wah other than the original that i've played. If it was stolen I would Definetly buy another! I compare it to the Original $69 Crybaby ,and the 535Q this one has the best sound for me. Does not clutter up your sound when running it w/ other pedals like the others in a lower price range. Best Buy for the Buck!!

Good overall and true-bypass which is a huge bonus for the price tag and a must for tonal purest such as myself. The only complaint I have right now is that it makes a bit of a scratchy noise which is likely due to a bad pentometer (easily replaced and cheap if you know how to solder).

In the future I plan to uprgade the pedal with high quality capcitors, resistors etc. but I have to say that as a base unit, with the Fasal incuctor and true-bypass it is a very good buy.

Only issue is the afformentioned pentomiter. Not really a bid deal and I expect it to last a long time.

I play blues mostly with a jazzy edge and some rock. Great with a good clean amp tone and very good with a Fuzz Face or a Tubescreamer fed INTO it (i.e. distortion first). It should be noted that it doesnt suffer from the typical volume drop that a lot of wahs do when they are on. I actually get a slight volume boost which is very cool.

sound-wise, i really liked it. (WHILE it worked) it sounded good with humbuckers AND single coils.........then it really started to get ugly. see below.

well, i knew it was all pcb inside. that didn't bother me too much as i would be leaving my cables plugged in all the time due to the fact that my wah pedal isn't the first pedal in my effects chain. if i knew that i'd be pulling cables in and out of this thing every time i were to play, i'd never purchase one. it's pretty sad that if a jack craps out, that you can't repair/replace it yourself because the jack mounts right on the pcb board. it's all about cost cutting these days, isn't it folks? anyway, after about a week's use i started to get this scratchy sound ONLY when i rocked the pedal fast. slow, no problems or noise. my first guess was a bad pot. i took the pot out and quickly soldered in the pot from my old vox wah (that isn't scratchy) and it still gave me that scratchy sound when i rocked fast. very strange. then, a day later, it started another new trick- in the toe-up position notes now fart out or don't sound at all. garbage. they don't make 'em like they used to. they'd like you to think that they do by featuring the fasel inductor but even that can't save this cheaply made toy.

just what i expected from a large company. i should've known better and just spent 75 bucks more and gotten the rmc wizzard wah. actually, that's what i'll be doing. i'm going on two weeks now since i emailed dunlop for help. no response. i just re-sent the email today. i'm not holding my breath.

it'll make a good door stop or paper weight. what a disappointment. i understand that i could've just gotten a bad one. it happens. but couple that with the fact that i can't get any support.........bye-bye dunlop. i won't be back. ever.

This pedal delivers amazing sounds with my setup. I use it with my chorus, echo, and a clean tone to get an underwater sound, or i can use it with my amp's distortion to get a modern rock sound, or through my fuzz to get a hendrix, psycadelic sound. Great variety of uses. I can set it one position to create artificial harmonics on the chords i'm playing, too, which adds a little icing to any song's cake.

all-metal construction, and a nine-volt battery to back up the ac adapter-great construction.

I'm the lead guitarist in a worship band, and i cover a wide range of sounds-anything from funk to alternative rock to acoustic to folk. I can use this pedal for every song i play. Every guitarist should have one wah or another, but this one delivers the best.
