Come on--there's only two knobs. This ain't rocket science. Volume and Distortion.

Sound Quality : 9
Guitars: Stratocaster, Telecaster (modded to be an Esquire), Danelectro DC3, G&L F-100
Amp: 63RI Fender Vibroverb or Line 6 POD vs.1
Other effects: 70s block-logo MXR Phase 90, TS9 Tubescreamer, Original Crybaby wah, Jimi Hendrix Classic Fuzz, Boss DS-1, Danelectro Daddy-O, DOD eq, Rocktron Hush.
Very quiet pedal--very little hum (especially since I mostly run single coils). No hum at all with the Hush pedal engaged.
This is a mild-to-medium fuzz pedal--not a buzz-bomb heavy metal distortion pedal. I bought it because you can play a full chord without the sound turning into a puddle of oatmeal--it retains clarity and definition. It reacts well with modulation pedals (Phase 90, Wah) but also reacts well with my overdrive pedals (TS-9, Daddy-O). When I engage both the Classic Fuzz and an overdrive, it makes a joyfully wicked, punchy Billy Gibbons-like sound. If you want straight-out crunch, get something else; but this little machine adds great texture and vibe.
This pedal is like salt--use it properly, and it's great.

Tough as a tank--great dependability. I use it comfortably without backup. I've had it for four years with no problem.

Jim Dunlop is very helpful--they will talk to you about anything.

I play guitar, slide guitar, harp and vocals in a Texas Roadhouse band(Blues + Rock + Outlaw Country=Texas Roadhouse) called the SCREAMIN' ARMADILLOS. Someone described us as ZZ Top and the Fabulous Thunderbirds on tour with Waylon Jennings.
I've been playing for about 16 years, and have owned many pedals. Only the ones that "move me" get a spot on my pedalboard. This one looks like a keeper. I would get another one if it were stolen.

It was very easy to use only two knobs.

Sound Quality : 5
It sounds great on the high notes but on the lows it sounds very muddy and there is not a lot of sustains. (it is like that on every setting) Guitar is a Dean VXT with the the high at 10 and bass at 7. My setup is dunlop wah to digitech rp100 to danelectro fabtone to jimi hendrix classic fuzz to rouge volume pedal to boss ns2 noise suppressor. I play through a Marshall MG amp combo. It has a clean channel and an effects loop. Mid at 5, High at 1, Bass at 10, and Reverb 3 or 5. I have been useing the jimi classic fuzz as a boost pedal on solos. I personaly think it sounds the best boosting my other effects. Volume is where it is needed and the fuzz is inbetween 7 and 8 o'clock.

Reliability : 10
It has aw metal case I don't think it is going to break any time soon.

I play blues, 60's/70's rock, grundge, and punk. I play every day from 1-4 hours. Started playing about 3 years ago. I know this does not sound like a lot but I have been asked by my bands to play lead and been asked numorous times for help.

Very easy

Sound Quality : 7
OK, this is a distortion box. Very perfumed sound - fat, replete, warm, mild grain but where is the classic fuzz? Nothing like "angry", "wild", "vicious"... It's sounds too comfortable - it's boring!

Reliability : 10
Cold metal

If you are a fat old satisfied father of five children, got a house and three cars and like to play on your 100w custom tube amp - this is your choice. Or a restaurant\wedding musician. If you're searching for "classic fuzz" - try something else.

Two knobs. Volume and Gain. Thats about it. The gain seems to have a boost built in to the last 10% of the sweep. So you can really crank it up if you spin it all the way. I don't know how "Classic" that really is, but who cares. This pedal is not to be confused with the Jimmi Hendrix Fuzz, although it it set up the same. It sounds MUCH better. I agree, Jimmi would have hated the other pedal. This one is very cool and very good sounding.

Sound Quality : 10
I think it sounds great. Not too noisy (not perfectly quite), rich sounding distortion. Unlike some distortion pedals I have used that only have one or two good settings, this provides good gain in just about any position of the gain knob. Crunchy fuzz in the middle, warmness set low, and pretty balls to the wall when cranked. It resembles my Mesa/Boogie Mark IV's lead channel when I use it cranked thought the clean channel. My personal favorite is to set the gain knob to 12 o'clock and use the boogie rythm 2 channel set kind of dirty. It gives really rich gain like that with the distortions mixing, which doesn't always happen with other pedals. It's my personal favorite distortion pedal right now. I use it with my Boogie Mark IV and a swamp ash/maple/rosewood strat with texas specials. Just killer.

Reliability : 10
I've had it for about 2 years of regular use and have changed the battery once. It's a heavy metal casing, with a heavy duty switch. I don't think it would break any time soon. I love it. I never gig without a backup becasue that is just not smart, but if I had to I would feel ok about it.

Never dealt with them. Can't say

One of the best sounding pedals in this price range. I've found that box's that get into the $30-$40 range are usually garbage for beginniers. Box's that are really expensive usually have all kinds of features that I frankly wouldn't ever use. What you pay for in this thing is the tone...which sounds to me sort of like a Big Muff Pi but with more balls. Or maybe an old Rat but warmer. Very warm pedal, I really like it. As I said before, it reminds me very much of the Lead channel in my Boogie. I would replace it if stolen. I play Ska/Punk/Funk/Indi-Rock and it goes great. With the whole set up I don't really have any problem getting any sound I want. There really isn't anything I wish it had...it's a straight up distortion box that sounds great. Nice and simple. The day I got it I compared it to quite a few different distortions including the Muff, Fuzz-face, TS-9, a couple other dunlops...a bunch of others I don't even recall including some terrible sounding multi-channel monstrosity Guitar Player was all raving about for almost $300 - sounded just awful, never trust a magazine review, the dude that wrote it must have been high - and I liked this the best. It's all about the TONE baby!! And tone is what this thing has! Hey at least you know my review is honest, I'm not getting advertising money from anyone so I have no problem stepping on as many toes as I feel like! Trust me check this out, I think you'll like it.
