EXCUSE MY BAD ENGLISH

Very easy to use. On/Off with your foot ... Turn some pots to change your tone and that it!

Sound Quality : 8
My setup is a old 1966 Fender BLACK-FACE PRINCETON Reverb. Fender CUSTOM Shop Telecaster (Classic player) and a old Epiphone Riviera with two seymour 59 pickup. TONEBONE classic pedal and a Tech 21 GT2.

The q535 have a very good tone and action but I had to fix some thing before with the pedal ... I found that the sound changes only when when the pedal was half press. It was bass bass bass and it the end a little bit of trebel. So what I did is I open the pedal and unscrew one screw (the white plastic thing) and I turn the master pot about 1/4 of a turn in the high frequency (hope you understand my poor explanation). Wow!! now it have a nice and graduel Wha effect. I still prefer the VOX tone but the q535 is true bypass.

Reliability : 8
Very solid

Nice pedal with lots of options to adjuste your tone. True bypass so when it off, it off. It is the true bypass that make me buy it. Like I said, I prefer the VOX tone but the VOX suck your tone like crasy when it is off!!
It is bad that I had to open the pedal the fix the tone .. but it is used so I don't know if it was like that new.

Wah's are extremely easy to use, and as far as plug and play is concerned, this pedal is no different.

Getting a good sound is no problem, and tweaking the dials is great fun.

The manual was very helpful, and explains exactly what each dial does and how to get a good sound.

The three three dials can be a bit daunting at first, but it's worth the extra work. =)

Sound Quality : 10
Incredible range of sounds. Very easy to mimick the sound of just about any wah pedal out there, and creating your own unique wah sound is a piece of cake as well.

Beautiful tone from this pedal, with distortion, just clean, using other pedals, etc.

I especially like increasing the Q and the width to get some extreme wah sounds.

I play a G&L ASAT Classic into a Laney tube head and 4x10 cab. This thing wails.

Reliability : 9
Tough as nails, except the little red switch that gives you the boost. Mine got a little bent I think and it comes unclicked on its own sometimes. Haven't looked into getting it fixed, I'll probably just bend it back with some pliers.

Otherwise, very reliable. I gig without a backup.

Haven't dealt with them yet.

Amazing pedal. I tended to use to soo much when I first got it, and I still use it a lot, just not as much.

Great versatile wah that blows most wahs out of the water.

I have the new version of this wah with the knobs on the side and it only takes one 9V batt now. Just like any other pedal its not rocket science so if youre going to invest money in an effect pedal you better have the patience to sit down and learn how to use it. The first couple settings on the Q knob arent too different but when adjusting the other knobs there is a difference.

jackson/charvel model 2 or a epiphone vintage g400 or a fender strat into 535Q into Jacques handmade mercer box into ts808 tubescreamer into small clone chorus, into homemade compressor pedal... i use many different amps and it sounds good on all of them, but im suprised how good it sounds on my small Peavy practice amp in my bedroom. Very responsive and can nail just about any wah sound out there. Two very important tone controls people dont usually mess with are the volume knob on your guitar and the tone knobs on your guitar.. Well this wah preserves your picking dynamics and the tone of your guitar while still applying the wah effect. Getting a 9 though because nothing is perfect.

Reliability : 9
Built like a rock as all crybabys are. I wouldnt kick the knobs on the side and i wouldnt jump up and down with it, but ive gigged with is several times and im usually pretty gentle with my pedals anyway and it hasnt failed me yet.

never dealt witht hem

Overall Rating : 10
ive tried lots of wahs and i think this is one of the best out there. I was torn between buying the jimi hendrix wah or this one, but i realized after using them both that i could get the hendrix sound with my mercer box (www.ts808.com) and the 535Q and i didnt need the built in fuzz. I play mostly classic rock or blues and it nails it perfectly. Great to use on solos and for those times when i want a little funk sound its right there with me.

The wah takes a little tinkering with to get your groove on. Read the directions to understand what everything does. Once you dial in the sound, get up and ROCK!!!!!

I use a Les Paul (Joe Perry Bone Yard, 1958 Reissue or Telecaster)-->Dunlop 535Q---Analogman KOT--->Fulltone ChoralFlange-->MEsaRectoverb50-->Mesa boogie 2X23 Vertical Cab

Sound Quality : 9
Dude, I A/B'd this with a fulltone. The Fulltone sounds slightly better. Is it 110.00$$$ better, NO. I've been playing for 6 yrs and know tone. I like aerosmith, GNR, The Darkness, SRV, Bon Jovi, Metallica, CREED, Alice in Chains, GODSMACK,the STONES etc. Its all in there. you will not be dissapointed.

The boost the sustain, the wah, its so cool. Its and invaluable tool. truely Needs to be in everyone's arsonal. Learn to use it though, its so much more than a hendirx wah.

The wah is true bypass. I do not loose any signal when off. When on, a little noisy, but I am also being ridicuously picky. Its gets the tone that I want, and its the tone that suits me. That is what I wanted.

Reliability : 9
I have not had any problems. I have read issues with these and asked the clerk when I bought it. I was told ither these work or they don't. Mine works, and it rocks.

Customer Support : 3
They are pretty bad. It took me 3 days to confirm that this pedal was true bypass.

Overall Rating : 10
Boost, Sustain, Wah.

Listen, I really wanted to buy a fulltone, I really DID. However, to be dilligent and fair, I tested both of them. Yes the fulltone is SLIGHTLY better, but is it twice as good. I didn't think so and I have invested money where appropriate in my gear (See above). I am not afraid to spend the bling bling where appropriate, but I honestly could not justify it here.

You will read reviews saying the opposite of what I am writing here, but I m being honest. Don't get caught up in the gear hype and constantly buy new stuff. I want to buy the best bangs for the bucks, and get quality. This is truely a great combination. Gotta have one. i suggest buying it new as E-bay, although cheeper, will not protect you against a defective unit. So spend the bling bling and do it right.

I rarely give 10's but Cannot argue this baby..... This Cry Baby 535Q that is!!!!!!!!!

The 535Q's ease of use is not an open and shut issue. The wah has so much wide variety of adjustment it takes a while to zero in on the one special sound you like. I got it used and didn't get a manuel; but when I try to download the manuel from the Dunlop website it doesnt work.

Sound Quality : 10
You can get any sound you need from this 535Q. The versatility of this thing has got make it the most versatile wah on the market. The boost is a comfort to me. My original cry baby was losing volume when activated; I no longer have to worry about that anymore. The Q sweep is great, Using it with slow movement I get otherworldly sounds. Its cool.

Overall Rating : 9
This 535Q is much more wah than you need. In other words with the high setting with the outside knob; and with the Q wide open it wahs in your face!! The boost wide open would probably cause an explosion. So, for he best sound one has to back off the settings or it is overwhelming. It is pro quality. I definitely would replace it if lost
stolen etc; Mine has the 2 knobs on the bottom. The new ones on the side is the right choice.

Fairly easy to use the various knobs.

Sound Quality : 9
I thought this pedal sounded really good. It's nice to have a wah pedal that you can adjust to find the exact sound you want.

Reliability : 2
The input for the adapter was not centered with the hole in the metal case so I couldn't use it. It was offset - very lame. Also, the pedal would without fail, every time I stepped on it, mute my entire signal and I would have to step on it again to hear anything - if I ever go all the way forward, as soon as I touch the switch it mutes again.

Customer Support : 1
I emailed Dunlop about the above-mentioned problems and they did not even respond.

Overall Rating : 2
I guess I'll try a Vox...

Ease of Use : 8
The manual helps a lot to dial in your sound, especially since they changed this pedal and now it's a bit more complicated to dial in your sound.

Sound Quality : 8
Sound quality depends on your setup, the sound you are looking for, and the settings you dial up on the pedal. Since I only play heavy metal, I can't get a real high-gain 'wah' sound unless the mini-Q dial is all the way clockwise (highest setting) and the big selector knob is all the way counterclockwise (highest setting). I leave the volume boost all the way down, I don't want a volume jump when I turn the pedal on (I'm usually already at lead volume by that time with a MXR Micro Amp boost). Also, this pedal sounds much better BEFORE a metal distortion pedal. You can try it the other way but it sounded awful when I tried it.

Reliability : 9
Depends on how you use/abuse it. I had a previous version of this pedal, all it had was the big Q knob on the side and the volume boost switch. The pot got dirty/scratchy after a while, the thing just got old I think, so I scrapped it for a new one. I had the old one for nearly 9 years before retiring it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
I don't know if anyone mentioned this in the other reviews, but the new version of this pedal is missing the LEDs on the front that tell you when the volume boost is on and when the wah is on/off. I liked to be able to see the light and know if I had properly switched it off after a lead. There's nothing like being on stage, stepping on your wah and playing, then stepping on it again to turn it off and not really knowing if its off unless you try rocking it again. It's a bit discomforting. Why did they take the LEDs off? Also, the mini volume boost and Q-control knobs are very small and on the left side of the pedal. You might need a fingernail to turn the knobs, this is a little frustrating sometimes. Otherwise this is a quality product. If you are looking for a versatile wah that can create different tones (maybe you're in a rock cover band?), this is a decent choice.

Easy to get a sound? Duh, versatility is the game here.
All settings sound good, it's a matter of which one fits with your taste. Of course it's not as easy as a on-trick wah, but what kind of fool can't figure out a single dial switch plus some volume/gain switches.

Sound Quality : 10
It sounds excellent. Vox's quality is equal and different. If you like the Vox sound get the vox. If you like this sound get this, It's really that simple. Now that we got that out of the way I'm just gonna stress this once more: It sounds excellent! Agressive sweeping wah's or warm little hardly-any-influence wah, it's all in here and for some suprisingly satisfying reason, they sound fantastic. But for that price, they better. Excellent choice for any musical style between 80's and now.

Reliability : 9
One of the latest. The revised reliability issues seem to work out. Fixing the reliability issue made it the perfect wah for me. I a good know wah when I hear it. It's "that" sound for me.

Not dealt with.

Overall Rating : 10
I play anything from pink floyd to dream theater to metallica and all the less known bands in between. It's a perfect match! The versatility makes it even more beautiful. Go get one! Let's just hope these will last.

Ease of Use : 9
First of all, like most of people says, it's an excellent crybaby, i would say it's the best crybaby on the market besides Dimebag Wah. It's really easy to use, the Boost button gives an excellent punch in solo's that no other wah's are capable.

Sound Quality : 9
I gave a 9 because this wah gives me everything i needed. I can play some Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Pantera, Black Label Society etc, with this pedal. I've been playing for several years, and i own a Gibson SG, Fender Stratocaster American Deluxe, Ibanez 350DX (350DX, peace of shit, never ever buy that crap). I have a Fender Frontman 25R (soon I'm getting a Marshall Full Stack with JCM 2000) The pedal always sound great, from low Q to High Q, its perfect.

Reliability : 10
Yes, i can depend on it, everytime i play my metallica solo's (enter sandman, one, wherever i may roam etc.), it always works. But if you ask me if i can use it without backup, it'S not the best guy to ask, I'm currently not in a band. Looking forward, but not yet.

Customer Support : 8
Don't ask, me, never had any problemes before, so I never had the chance to deal with the company. But I hear ther're pretty good with custmoers so I,ll say 8 for now.

Overall Rating : 10
I play pretty much Metal and some Rock and Classic Rock like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd but they're not really Crybaby players. If this item would be stolen or lost, first, I would beet the hell out of him, but if its really stolen, i would definetly buy another one, exactly the same 535Q. My favorite feature is definetly the Boost that can be controlled by the High and Low Q. And i tried several wahs like Boss, Morley, and compared to Dunlop, boss and morley are peace of sh*t.

It's a wah, but there's a rotary knob and two internal knobx, for boost and amount of color to the effect, so I'll say an 8.

Sound Quality : 9
My rig is as follows, B-bender teles, into 535 wah, akai inteliphase, boss od3, fulltone fulldrive, visual sound route 66, bbe sonic maxumizer, ibanez dd100, digitech res1900, lexicon lxp1, and a boomerang, all into a mesa mark III combo. This pedal is a great bargain for the money! I use it in the first or second rotary position, which is a more trebelly wah than most, but it really cuts through the mix on clean funk stuff. My band plays a mixture of fusion, funk and jam rock, and I enjoy having a different wah easily accessible with the turn of a knob. I also like the fact that it's true bypass, like almost all of my pedals are. I think it far outdoes the vox wahs, even with the bypass mod. The only one that it can't touch is the budda, but, with the budda, you get one wah sound, not six!

Reliability : 9
Like all wahs, it's pretty reliable, but be carefull, and treat your pedals with care anyway.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, a great pedal for the money, and well suited for most styles of music. I don't do the rock thing, but I think it would work for that too. I think it's one of the best wahs for clean stuff on the market.
