Pretty easy to figure everthing out. If you spend time tweaking everything you can learn how to use it pretty quickly

Sound Quality : 3
Unlike everyone has written. I am not to impressed with this wah. To me, the wave is long enough. Even at the best settings, there is too much of the lows and too quick of a switch from the lows into the highs of the wah. For me this isn't a great wah.

Reliability : 2
Same problems as everyone else.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never delt with them

Overall Rating : 4
I wouldn't recomend this pedal. For the reasons stated above.

A pretty straight-forward product to use. Set frequency range and use the knob on the side to finetune.

Sound Quality : 9
Used with a Les Paul Classic through a DOD-250 into a Marshall 2555SL (Slash signature / Jubilee). Sound quality is great: there is most likely a setting that will suit your preference. There is no abnormal noise heard, tho the use of an adapter gives a bit more noise. Easy to get a Slash-like tone, but also many others.

Reliability : 6
Unfortunately, like many others already reported, the switch failed after a while. When going from wah to bypass the signal was lost. I found however that most of the time this was caused by the fact the switch wasn't pressed in far enough. Unmount the switch and remove some of the rings that keep the switch down!

Customer Support : 10
I bought a DPTD switch but the original has a PCB mounted on it, instead of the wires being soldered directly to the switch. An email to techsupport of Dunlop was enough to get a very friendly email back within a few minutes with a wiring diagram that could be used to install the new switch. Great, friendly service!

Overall Rating : 8
Being a guitarplayer for over 16 years playing (hard)rock i consider the 525q an essential part of my setup. Having used Morley/Vox/DUnlopClassic Wah's they can't compete with the versatility and sound of this pedal.

A pretty easy to use device considering the features it has

Sound Quality : 9
The sound is very good. Using a Gibson Les Paul Standard DC through a Marshall 2555SL. With the options it has there will always be a setting that'll fullfil your needs

Reliability : 2
Reliability is just crap. As a lot of other people already stated: when stomping the switch i loose my signal. Pretty hard to depend on it live! For the money i have payed i would've expected better quality for sure!

Haven't bothered. Got me a Vox Wah

In use it's dead easy. Step on it, rock it back and forth - it works the way a wah is supposed to work. I give it a lower rating because the set up is a bit fiddly. Thankfully the manual is good, and has some suggestions on how to set it for your fave sound (hendrix, page on dazed and confused, etc.)

Sound Quality : 8
Sounds the way a wah should to my ears. Used with several guitars - les paul, strat, sg. Used with several distortion effects - tone bone, ts808, fuzz face. Used with several amps (marshall silver jublilee, fender showman, champ, deluxe reverb). All worked as expected, nothing unusual.

Reliability : 1
Crap. Intermittent switch failures. After a year the whole unit stopped functioning. I am not a pro, so this unit was not gigged with - just used in my basement. The case is incredibly strong, it seems like the pedal should last a lifetime. Unfortunately, mine died a premature death. Too bad, I liked this wah but would not buy another.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't bother. Bought a fulltone clyde wah.

Overall Rating : 5
Nice wah, but poor reliablity. For me, reliability is just table stakes. After a year of light use this thing should have no trouble whatever.

Wah pedal, no big fuss about it's ease of use, but here are what I found very annoying:
The volume and variable Q control knobs are both small enough to make it difficult to adjust them easily.
The jack out is so close to the power adapter in that you might get some difficulty using a universal adapter on this.

Sound Quality : 7
Very good range of wah sounds, i call it my "flexi-wha". The boost switch might have been useful for me only if it didn't came with that dull distortion

Reliability : 4
Seems solid, but it's a real pity that the 9V battery case cover is in thin plastic: it broke the first week i had it!

Overall Rating : 6
It is a flexi-wah with a great range of sounds but with a quite dull construction

This pedal is easy to use. There is a knob to control the voicing and two small pots to control Q setting and volume of boost. The boost button is on the side so it isn't really practical to use during a gig but it is a nice little feature to play with at home. Many different settings to go through so this gets an 8.

Sound Quality : 9
My Setup is MIM Strat-->535q-->CoolCat Fuzz-->TS-808--> 1967 BF Super Reverb
or..
1956 LP Custom-->535q--> CoolCat Fuzz--> TS-808--> Crate V16 Palomino

I get all the sounds I want besides the classic metal sound (but that is debatable, my tone gets pretty heavy). The wah is good all the tones I want (classic rock, blues, funk, grunge, hard rock, classic metal. It gets a bit noisy with the fuzz but I think that is more of the cheap (but good) fuzz's fault. I can sound like Hendrix or sound like Clapton or Morello or Slash with this wah.

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't had it long enough to know if it is reliable, but I looked inside and it looks pretty damn sturdy. It is heavy and could cause life-threatening injuries to anyone who has one dropped on them from 2 feet away.

Customer Support : 9
No experience with the guys at Dunlop yet. Hopefully I will never have to.

Overall Rating : 9
I would buy it again if it was stolen. I might be tempted to save for a Gig-fx wah or Fulltone Clyde. I wish the boost was easily accessible but that isn't a huge deal. It sucks a little bit of tone but that will soon be fixed when I add a 3dPt switch in there. Great pedal overall:best I have played under $200.

Fairly easy to understand and straight forward. Manual comes with some good presets to use as a starting point. Where it loses points in my book is the difficulty I have with engaging or disengaging the effect. When gigging, I do a bit of tap dancing with channels/effects/pedals etc. I occasionally have problems getting the device to turn off or on. e.g. if I need to disengage the wah and immediately switch to a clean sound. If i don't hit it just right the wah will fail to turn off. Maybe i'm not stomping on it hard enough, I don't know. It's very inconsistant.

Sound Quality : 9
1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom, 1990 MM Fender Strat with VanZandt pickups, 1986 Westone Spectrum, VOX AD50VT and 1970's Ampeg V4 half stack with various effects/overdrives. Sound quality is good. Can get many different sounds from it. From vintage to modern, it's all pretty much there. No noise or tone suck that I noticed.

Reliability : 3
There is another sporadic but major problem I have found with mine. The wah occasionally cuts signal for no apparent reason until I move the pedal. It's only happened a few times, but again, I can't afford it to happen in a live situation.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't contacted them YET, so I really can't comment.

Overall Rating : 6
Right now i am in a band which plays a mix of 90's/00's covers and originals. I've been playing and gigging for almost 20 years. If it were lost or stolen, i'm not sure i would replace it. For me it's a great pedal for recording with great tone but not for live situations. I need something a little more reliable. I think an LED would help as a visual confirmation that the device is on or off.

Very easy to get the tone I want. Love the fact that I can control the sweep range and volume for boost. Can have total control over the parameters I want.

Sound Quality : 7
A lot of people says it sucks tone big time but I think they are just biased. It does suck up a bit of tone and live out of your tone but not much compared to Boss pedals. Anyway I'm a perfectionist so I got myself a true bypass looper from Loop-Master and problems solved!

It has a wide range or sweep that you can control using the dial knob and the small knob. As you turn the dial knob down, you get to a bassier region and vice versa. The small knob lets you control the range on whether you want an end to end sweep range or just a particular one without too much bass when rocked back and not too much high when rocked up.

Every time I on the power and use it for the first time, it will have a pop. Only for the first time. After that its fine. So make sure you on and off it for a few times before you on your amp.

The mid range of the sweep is not really good. It kinda have a 'jump' and doesn't go through all the frequency in between bass and treble. Especially when you turn the small knob all the way up. Therefore control over the small knob is important to get a relatively nice sweep.

Reliability : 9
A lot of people says this pedal always fail on them but it works perfectly for me. Guess those idiots just stomp on it with all the strength they have. Come on, its an electronic device. Why do you wanna be rough with it? You will just spoil it. Totally hate those people who becomes a monster when they play guitar. Have some control over yourselves man.

I love my pedals so I just use the minimum force possible when stomping on them. And in return, they love me too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for 9 years and covers a wide range of music. Don't buy a wah just because you are a Jimi wannabe. Use the effect for your own music. Be creative and don't let all these "guitar gods" control your playing style.

Anyway, this is a very sturdy pedal with lots of good tones in it. You just need some time to tweak around to get your nice tone. Of course you can't compare this unit to boutique pedals like Fulltone Fullcylde Wah.

If stolen I will open up my options to boutique wahs. But I don't mind getting this again.

It is tricky to start if you aren't familiar with this pedal. But once you get it dialed in, it's awesome. The manual is cool too. It gives you different style settings for hitting hendrix to frusciante. Pretty cool. I love it. I have played alot of others like morleys, other crybabys, boss, rocktron, and I liked this one from the first time I heard it. not to say the others suck. Given their applications, they shine in their own right. But as far as I'm concerned, this one did it for me then, does it for me know. I am the man in the box baby!! not really. Sorry jerry, yes you are the man.

Sound Quality : 9
I love this pedal when you have it kicked-in. The only downside of this pedal, or any other pedal that doesn't have this, is it's lack of a true-bypass switch. Ya, it's going to slightly color your sound but it's a coloring you deal with if your a wah fan like myself. If I were to record, I would probably isolate this effect alone to maximize my tones that I would want. Live, well, I have never played in a live setting that had such pristine sound that anybody could notice. They just notice when that bad mofo kicks in and it's on like donkey kong!. I'm sure there are some better boutique pedals out there for way more duckets, but for my money, this is the one for my ears. I love this pedal! Satch uses it. I have read some reviews that put the pedal down so much that he must be completely tone deaf??? rrrrrrrrrright..... This pedal inspires me to pretend for second that I'm Kirk Hammett, yes. But I'm not. So playing the intro to man in the box will do. It's not at the rackmount level but I didn't buy the rackmount wah. So rated against it's peers, I say it rocks.

Reliability : 8
Haven't had a problem with it. I did have an old one I beat up alot. It's hit the deck hard a couple times, had beer spilled on it, attacked by dust bunnies as it sat uncleaned for years, etc. Anyways, I was an idiot and put the wrong power supply into it and needless to say, the old schooler that took two nine volt batteries only works with two nine volt batteries now. The wall wort is done. i got a new one and it won't work. Still sounds good though. Just not as econimical as it once was. And I think that the old one without the fassel sounds better too. Maybe I'm tone deaf? I don't know. But I like that old peice of crap. Love it. They aren't that different. Just slight. Both are awesome. I bought the dime wah too. Way too many options. It's like line 6 products. Love their usefullness. I just don't want to attain the degree it takes to thoroughly understand them. Maybe I'm a caveman. Takes away from jamming. I have ADD or something. I like easy to use knobs and this isn't the easiest, but it's easy enough. Ya, it's reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I just keep buying them like dunlop intended. I don't know?

Overall Rating : 9
I play it all. I also suck at it all. And I like it all. I love this pedal. I set it, and forget it! I have been playing for 13 or so years. I still suck. I have owned alot of gear. I looked up my musicians friend account the other day and totalled it up and almost cried. If it were stolen, I'd buy another. I bought another and it wasn't stolen in the first place. Ya, I dig it. What I love about it is the fact that once you find that sweet spot, your done. Put velcro on it and slap it on your board. Don't mess with it again. that easy. Again, I wish it had true bypass. Dunlop will wise up one day. And I'll buy a freakin' new one. Ya, I could send it off to keeley or wherever but I'm lazy. oh well. As far as helping me make music, yes. Very much so. It makes my crappy solo style sound less crappy. Alot of people say that people who use the wah pedal do so to hide there crappy technique. And some are right. I do fall into this category. But one day I hope practice pays off and I can make a few think otherwise. Maybe not. I don't care. I like the wah wah. As far as anything else I would like to share. rate products fairly. I read reviews alot. If you've owned it for one day and your last name isn't vai, how can you write a poor review on something? Also, rate it against it's peers fairly. And if you hate it in the first place, rate it accoudingly. Tell everyone you hate it right off the bat so I don't waste my time reading about your crappy set-up and your two years of playing and how you know good tone and all that crap. I'm hear to listen to fellow guitar junkies who love gear, good or bad, and appreciate it for what it is, and how it's used accordingly. Ya, it's not the $500 boutique, but it's damn good. I'll shut up now.

Ease of Use : 9
It's not exactly straight forward. You have to find your own sound that you like first. It's really not that hard though, I found the sound I liked within 20 or 30 minutes, Once I found that "sweet spot" I was good to go. But I don't just stay in that spot, I tinker and find other sounds too. It didn't come with a manual because I bought the unit as a display model. I'd give it a 9.5 if there was such an option because of the tweaking that needs to be done.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a lot of Satriani, and this pedel gives me a lot of the sound I was looking for in his songs, plus gives me the just the sound I want in my own music. It gives you a definate 'wah' sound to it, really makes the guitar cry. It has a tendency to be noisy especially with the boost selector on, but what do you expect?, it's a 'signal booster' it simply amplifies whatever happens to be in the circuitry, including noise... make it work for you ;3. This is being ran through a Line 6 Spider III 150 watt amp.

Reliability : 10
I've been reading that the switches are flakey, hard to activate, etc. But I really haven't had a problem with that so far. Yeah, the switch can be kind of hard to switch on but it was designed like that so you wouldn't accidently turn it off when you're using it. All you have to do is lean your weight into it a little bit until it clicks. Also the battery is another one I keep hearing people complain about. Still haven't had any trouble there other than getting the battery compartment to close. As far as draining batteries. No problem, just unplug all the cables and make SURE you turn the wah pedel off via the toeswitch!!! I've been doing this since the day I got it, been using the same battery for 2 weeks and the wah is still just as strong. I would use it at a gig with no back up even without a power adapter, although they are nice to have when you don't have batteries handy. Giving reliablity a 10 for now in spite of its poor reviews simply because I haven't had the pedel very long and it's held up perfectly fine so far.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them. Hope I won't have to.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall I think it's a great pedel, matches my style of playing which is mostly rock and blues rock. Been playing guitar for 3 years and I haven't been without my share of disappointments but this little device hasn't disappointed me so far. I'd definately buy another one if it got stolen, but not before chasing the theif down and reclaiming my original xD. Like most everyone else I wish the volume/Q control knobs were slightly bigger but it's no big deal.

The ease of use is just so incredibly awesome and easy! The different wah settings make for an awesome pedal with varible wah sounds which is awesome when wanting a slightly different sound. The Boost kicks ass and is awesome. Needs no manual - this beast is so simple to use and manipulate!

Sound Quality : 10
The exact same model Wah, guitar legend Joe Satriani uses, and it kicks arse! Surf with the alien with this beast! I've gotten alot of signature tones out of this Wah, such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Satch, and Zakk Wylde respecivly, as well as my own signature wah tone! It really is a versitle wah! I use mine through a Fender Squier Champ 15 amplifier , with gain usually at between 7 and 10, treble at 10, middle at 0, and bass and presence both at 10 and played through an SX Strat. This wah kicks ass with screaming tones and harmonics with a nice gain and overdrive, but also gives awesome tonage with a nice, beefy clean sound.

Reliability : 10
It's never let me down, and I've had it for a few months already. I've heard of this particular Wah cutting out, but it's never done that with mine, and I can always depend on it whenever I need that awesome wah sound. I would definatly take it to a gig and be safe and know it won't stuff up on me. It's my old guitar I've got to worry about, haha.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to deal with them, with absolutely no problems with the pedal, its been a smooth ride! I'm sure the team at Dunlop would be very kind to assist though.

Overall Rating : 10
I play many different genres of music, and often my own blend. This wah along with my Monte Allums modded DS1 Distortion, gives me absolutely exactly the tonage I need and require! Before this I used a Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95 Original, but it just wasn't cutting what I needed. When I plugged this baby in I knew it was meant to be. I've also tested the VOX wah and no other wah I've used compares itself to the 535Q. And the full "chrome boy" finish gives it another thing to boast about. If it were stolen I would be shattered but still wouldn't hesitate to go and buy another one, though I'd try and get my old one back, because I feel a strong connection with all my original equipment.

No matter what you play, this is the most versitile wah ever and will cater for any style! I use it mainly for rock and metal, as well as shred and lots of good harmonics, but when I tone down the gain it still kicks epic ass.

The black knobs that control the "Q" (wah depth) and clean boost are both hard to get at, but the wah pedal and wah range selector are easy to use. The on/off switch for the whole pedal is a pain in the ass, it likes to stick.

Sound Quality : 7
The wah sounds good and is very adjustible, but if either the clean boost or my amp's gain are turned up, it picks up the local NPR station (89.5-ish). Changing the frequency range creates a nasty trebly "pop".

I honestly don't use it very much as a wah pedal, I like it for the bass cut when turned on and left wide open, and for the distortion I get when I turn the clean boost all the way up on my amp's "clean channel".

Reliability : 4
It will cut out randomly when turned off unless the pedal is pressed lightly against the switch. It's also begun cutting out for a few seconds without warning when turned on.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't gotten around to dealing with them.

Overall Rating : 6
It has a cool tone, and I tend to leave it on while playing, but I wouldn't trust it at a show. I haven't really found a use for the wah depth control, but the clean boost and wah range are fun to play around with.

I cant really say it's easy to use because i'm used to a wah pedal that's switchless. The manual completely sucks!! but there are a couple good settings in the back. the version I have has all of the knobs on the side so it is better than the old ones that had them on the bottom.

Sound Quality : 9
I thinks this pedal sounds great and I am able to get alot of different sounds out of it. I've seen some reviews where people say it's digital but it's not, that chip on the board is an op-amp. I have yet to hear any unwanted noise. I am running this to a Line 6 Uber Metal and into my Crate GX-60C.

Reliability : 7
A couple of times when I hit the switch I loose all signal, It's only happened twice and hasn't done it in a while but I still worry that it's gonna happen again at an important time. I talked to Dunlop and they pretty much told me I was crazy.

Customer Support : 2
I've only talked to them once and they treated me like I had no clue what I was talking about, so i can't say they are good.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a super smooth pedal compared to the other Crybabys i've owned I guess it's because of the Fasel inductor. It needs an indicator light because i'm always forgetting it's on, other then that i can't see anything really wrong with it.

this is a very versatile wah. 3 knobs and a boost switch
Q-control- adjusts the frequency center
gain- amount of boost delivered when the boost switch is pushed in
volume- amount of volume added when wah is on

Sound Quality : 9
this is a very versatile wah! the sound i have found relies heavily on 2 things, the settings u are using, and the type of guitar u are using. between the Q control and the gain control i can get sounds ranging from
funk, to slight filterering, to your very modern rock solo tones (wylde, slash, vai, etc.) As with anything different types of pickups will give you different tones. such as with my tele with a high frequency selected and gain added i can nail the tom morello type of pushing rythm tone. this is a very smooth wah that can be adjusted for any playing style

Reliability : 7
This thing is built very well, i use it all the time with out a back up.
i did however have one time where my switch went out on me so i sent it to dunlop and they fixed it and i have had no problems with it since

Customer Support : 10
Dunlop was very helpful and easy to work with when my switch went out...luckily i had a few days left on my warrenty so they let me send it on back and i got it back with in about 3 weeks with no problems.
contacting them is no problem either, i only had to call them once and they were very friendly and helpful.

Overall Rating : 9
i'd highly recommend this wah!
styles i play and it works great with- funk, blues, rock, metal, worship, country (its great for slide work)
i would buy it again if lost
i compared it with other cry baby wahs and a few morleys such as the bad horsie II the only wah i would say beat it was a guys 60's Vox organ wah
which was just amazing (who can find those anyways)

The sound is great when it works.

Reliability : 1
Every so often (about every 6th or 7th time), when I engage the pedal, the sound cuts out completely, and I have to press it down again a couple of times to get signal again(making it impossible to use live). So no, I cant depend on it.

Customer Support : 1
When it was new, it had the same problem (signal cutting out intermittently)and I sent it back under warranty. Dunlop told me they found no problem, and sent it back to me without doing anything. Tried to gig with it again, and about the 3rd or 4th time I tried to kick it in, guess what? My sound dropped out completely, making me look like an idiot.
I have tried it with different rigs, and always have the same problem. So now I just use it for home recording. Which sucks, because I'm starting to play out quite a bit again, and need to go out and buy something I can depend on.

Overall Rating : 5
The sound is good for a wide variety of styles (if only I could depend on it for live performance).I hear the new models from Dunlop sound great, but I cant justify giving money to a company which treated me this way.

Two gripes: 1. The little black knobs are hard to get at without taking the unit off the pedalboard. 2. The manual doesn't have a specifications page. I'd like to know the frequency values of the five ranges. In fact, the manual doesn't say much of anything at all.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a digital pedal. That said, I don't want to give anyone the impression that I think it suffers from the fact. Digital music technology takes a lot of crap these days, but the truth is that it's opened up a world of tonal possibilities that once only existed in the really expensive boutique analog world.
It's just that, when you opened the bottom of the pedal, it's got this overwhelmingly slick-looking, machine-wired board on the inside. It's a new world.
This instrument is fantastic. I was playing an early-80's revision of the CGB-95, which has about twenty electronic parts in it. The pot started to get scratchy, and I turned that into an excuse to get a new toy. I wasn't disppointed.
I'm a big fan of Jerry Cantrell's wah tone. Who isn't? So when I got it, I instantly dialed in the "Jerry Cantrell" settings in the manual. Holy cow. It was pretty cool.
In fact, I was so impressed that I changed the settings a little to find the sweet spot for my amp and I haven't changed anything since. One of these days I'll poke around with it, but for the moment I'm in love with this setting. I haven't played a solo without it since the first time I brought it to rehearsal.
I play a Gibson Explorer with Dimarzio pickups. EB Vol Pedal > 535Q > TS-9 > MESA Nomad 45, 4x10. I couldn't be happier with the way the 535Q gets along with the rest of the gang.
Regarding the switch: A lot of people seem to want to deconstruct the "hard-wire" bypass. It's not absolutely true bypass, that's true. But it's just about as good as it gets. There comes a point when the differences are negligible. This is that point.

It's a wah pedal. They can take bullets and still work.
And, oddly enough, the machine-soldered circuit board seems sturdier and much less likely to suffer from loose solder joints (a recurring problem with my old CBG95).

Never talked to them.
If I did, I'd ask them for the tech spec's.

Overall Rating : 10
I'll eventually repair my old wah pedal, but to be honest I don't think I'll put it back on my pedalboard full time. The 535Q is now the most soulful pedal I have. And that's not just because the old CS-9 chorus I have died on me last week.
The Boost function even reduces the number of stomps I have to do to get my solo-wah tone. My Tube Screamer seems jealous.
I'd buy a new one in a second.

I've been playing more than long enough to know the ins and outs (well, at least a few) of good tone. I'm a big fan of Slash, Jerry Cantrell, Dan DeLeo, Slash, David Gilmour, Frank Zappa, and Slash. I have a special place in my heart for the G3 nuts like Satch and Stevie Vai, but the real soulful guys get me in a very tingly place. So you'll never catch me with EMG pickups or a Boss DS-1 anywhere in the signal chain. Shrieky, edgy guitar a-la Zakk Wylde or Mick Thompson is good and all, they just choose attitude over pinache when it comes to tone. It's a matter of style. That's why Zakk has his own Crybaby. But the 535Q has it for all of us out there who wanna make it bleed feeling.

You don??t need to spend some time to work out how this thing works but you will need a couple of days to find what you are looking for. More complicated than a standard wah but many more sounds to get from it.

Sound Quality : 9
Great sound. I plug the pedal before a Ds1 modified by Pedaldoc (great overdriven sound now) and I can really get a Hendrix kind sound. I have many more pedals and this thing seems to combine well with almost everything except with my phase90 but who would want to use a wah with a phaser anyway?

Reliability : 9
Very hard shell and well made. Very reliable I would say. I don??t know about the pot getting scratchy yet...let??s hope it doesn??t in a long time.

I have had the pedal for a year and no issues so far. Hopefully it will stay the same

Great pedal. Lots of sounds to dial. If you get one of these pedals be sure you will spend many hours experimenting...Nice.

Bought the unit a few days ago, took me a while to find the ideal combination between the variable Q knob and the switchable 6 wah types. But once I figured it out, I was able to get a variety of very usable sounds

Sound Quality : 8
I run a '57 vintage reissue strat through the 535Q and an Ibanez TS9DX Tubescreamer into a Marshall JTM-30 combo amp, with a Dunlop 6-band equalizer running through the amp's FX loop.

One COMPLAINT: When I activate the 535Q with the boost(overdrive) channel on my Marshall JTM-30, the 535Q picks up a certain am radio frequency, which becomes more apparent as I push the rocking pedal forward (treble side). I notice the radio signal is also there when I'm using the clean channel, but not half as bad as when I'm using the boost channel

Does anyone else have this problem? please advise

Other than that, it's a great sounding unit, the only reason that I'm not giving it a 10 rating because of the radio signal issue

I've only been using it for a week in my bedroom, so I can't comment on this one

I've been playing guitar for over 10 years now, mostly as a hobby. I mainly play early to mid 90's alternative rock covers (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, RATM, RHCP). If it was stolen, I'd definitely get a replacement

Great variety without pushing buttons, turning many knobs, etc. Has the Fasel & a good casing. Input jacks work & don't wiggle with all types of cable too. Want to spend more time tweaking? Get the Ibanez Weeping Demon instead. Want to get a strong set of wah tones? Get this unit & save your time. It's virtually a no-brainer.

Sound Quality : 9
It gets all the sounds you want to get, from Jimi to SRV and then some. REMEMBER: it really is in your hands, your guitar's sound, amp settings and any other pedals or crap you have in your chain. Want to cut down noise? Use your pedals or rack in your amp's FX loop and only use this before your amp input: you will be surprised. I use it with Mesa Lone Star Special and Stiletto Ace combo(s), and with PRS & Ed Reynolds guitars with hummers & single coils. The EQ on this one is good with singles and humbuckers.

Reliability : 9
As long as you aren't tap dancing on the pedal, letting a dummy toss your stuff around or spilling beer on it: it should last a while. Every month or so spray it with tuner cleaner & you'll stay happy! Better yet: keep it in a protective pedal board case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Sorry to have to give anybody any advice: wah pedals due to their parts and design just wear out if you don't kieep them clean & protect them. Haven't had to contact the company, but go thru the people you bought it from. They order more of this product and can put pressure on them or the distributor (if that's the case).

Overall Rating : 9
After 40 years, this is the first one I liked after my original Vox. It covers almost all the sounds I've liked too. Other than the Weeping Demon (too many little things to tweak with) and the larger Morleys, it got good tones FAST! If you use too many pedals, pre-amps, boosters, delays, modulation units, etc.: it will all start to sound like pink noise or mush anyway. With bypass, it will stay out of your way (and ears)when you don't use it.

Quite easy to use. More options than most wah's but still, not at all difficult. Give yourself half an hour to find the best settings.
The volume boost is possibly this wah's best feature.

Sound Quality : 4
This is where this pedal really falls down. Forget Hendrix and SRV. I'm not sure where all these rave reviews are coming from. I've had this pedal for about 18 months and have been trying to get good tones out of it for that long. Still trying. The tones are just not in there. Perhaps, when you've got your amp (or pedals) all set for a clean sound then the pedal is passable - with a tendancy to push the high end and scrimp on the bass, but as soon as you add any distortion, fuzz, overdrive or anything like that,(even tube breakup) then it is just really a pile or rubbish.

I play with really good gear, aside from a few pedals (good ones), I play a vintage vox AC50 amp, an American custom les paul and an American standard telecaster. I'm really into good tones and good gear. When I am playing blues lead for example, with a small amount of overdrive, when I switch on the wah, I can hardly tell if it's on or not!

To its credit, it doesn't get any noise in the pot when you rock the pedal. But it's far from noiseless when the pedal is switched on and off. And you'd better turn you're volume down when you click the 'Wah range selector' switch! BANG BANG BANG (not good for your speakers...or ears).

Reliability : 7
This pedal is very solid construction wise. It's a die cast stainless steel I think. Tough. The underside panel is a bit flimsy though, with plastic battery cover...a much more delicate underbelly than vintage wahs.

As far as the inside goes, mine didn't have any problems. Though being a digital pedal it does suck batteries pretty quickly.

It's probably easiest to sum up this way...

For:
- Pretty solid and reliable
- Has a good volume boost switch
- True bypass
- Not too bad with clean sounds (very little bass though)

Against:
- Rubbish with distortion
- Noisy selector switch (aaarh! Good god this is terrible!)
- Too expensive for what it does and compared to other cheaper wah's.

Summing up, save your money. I'm going to mod mine with Area 51 Vintage Italian wah mod kit (www.area51tubeaudiodesigns). If you're interested in a wah that's soft and subtle then save the dough and get a cheaper, more basic wah. If you want to play an authentic sounding 'Voodoo Chile' then get a real vintage wah, or go for the Area 51.

Fairly easy to use, the two knobs on the side could do with being a bit bigger though. Easy to get a good sound, it all sounds great!

Using a Cort G290 (EMG SA and 89 pickups), with a load of other effects into a Marshall MG100DFX. This wah just sounds plain awesome. That's it, all the sounds are great, you can emulate any artist with it, and it really wails!

I've had mine for about a year and a half and it's still going strong, I am worried about when the potentiometer breaks however. But it's lasted a long time!
