Any moron could figure this one out. Just remember that the battery is always on when you have a rip cord plugged into the instrument jack.

Sound great to me!

Reliability : 9
It is very dependable and I would use it without a backup device.

Customer Support : 7
I didn't get a warranty card with mine for some reason so I called them and was promised a card in the mail which I never got. It only has a one-year warranty so who cares.

Overall Rating : 9
I would probably buy another one after checking out the VOX. I've heard those are excellent as well. I would even consider buying the 535 model for the extra adjustments. If you're looking for a simple wah pedal, this is the one to buy.

Push it until it clicks to toggle it on/off, then move it back and forth to create that ever-popular "Wah" sound. It does take a lot of force to switch on and off, if you're not paying attention (and sometimes I don't) then you might not switch properly.

Sound Quality : 9
I love to Wah-wah, and I love this pedal. For clean sounds, it's fantastic. For distortion, it's not quite as good, I find that it doesn't always do anything to high solo notes. Of course, that's when you run it BEFORE the distortion. Placed AFTER distortion, it wahs everything. And, of course, there's that cool disco muting thing. This pedal has what it takes.
A whole separate use is to use it as a filter. I find that if I leave it in the forward position (lots of highs), it gives me a great classic rock distortion, very bright. While it sounds good (a huge improvement if you have a cheap amp), it does create a LOT of background noise when used this way. Also, I find that filtering clean tones like this makes it unbearably bright.
A lot of people have complained about the static, or scratching in the potentiometer. I have used a wah-wah with this problem, and it's very loud and VERY annoying. This particular one is fine, but I KNOW that it won't last much longer (I can hear the background noise when I use headphones)

Reliability : No Opinion
Couldn't tell you - I didn't own it, I only borrowed it for about three weeks. Eventually, I'm sure it will become staticy.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never talked to them.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a great sounding pedal. I love using it clean, and it does add a certain flavor to distortion. The filtering is great, if noisy. I want to buy one myself, but I'm worried about the problem with the pot. I suppose I should check out the alternatives. In the meantime, I think it's great.

Easy to sweep. and less sweep need to get that cool wah sound.

I am an effects manufacturer and repair tech. I have finnaly mastered winding my own inductor. When I replaced the stock inductor with mine I had a wail like you wouldn't believe. I have had to musicians compare it to a Clyde McCoy and they said Damn near exact. Be looking for my new WAH pedal. I modify Dunlops and make them sound awesome.

Reliability : 10

...well, anyone can use a wah, but for the sake of stage playing, I'd like an LED on it!

Sound Quality : 7
Crackles, even after sprayed with contact cleaner. Sounds nice, but the high and low ends of the pot give really annoying sounds.

Reliability : 10
Nice sturdy construction,

Customer Support : 5
as said before "Just clean it" was the only answer I got, even with the warranty!

It gets the best sound when you limit the pedal travel to a small part of its range, avoiding the extreme bass and treble regions, which can be difficult to do especially in a live situation when you're pumped. (It's not a difficult mod to fix this, you can find it all over the net, but I'm lazy.)

Sound Quality : 5
Some days it picks up FM broadcasts better than my stereo, so I guess I have to give it a 10. Really, though, it's just a 5. It is certainly acceptable and sounds like a wah pedal, but when I A/B'd against the Vox re-issue, the Vox blew it away when doing that muted-string-strum-clicka-wicka sound, so it can't be a 10, although it could certainly be worse. And the pot of course gets scratchy after about 5 days. (This is a new pedal; the older ones have a completely different circuit. Except for the scratchy pot.) Hint for best sound: leave your guitar tone control all the way up.

Reliability : 8
This is a mixed bag. The pots get scratchy and my switch needed to be adjusted. On the other hand, I have kicked mine off the stage and it didn't get any worse, so that's what I'd call reliable.

Overall Rating : 6
I'd just like to put in my vote for using wah before distortion. I got this pedal because I needed a wah and it was on sale and I figured I'd pay a few extra bucks to get a new one and avoid the scratchy pot problem for a while.

Any idiot can figure this one out.

All wah-wah pedals have noise

Reliability : 8
compared to everyone else in this list, i have been lucky. no problems at all. make SURE to turn it off and unplug it when you're not using it; otherwise it will run the batteries down quickly (mine last over six months because i always unplug the instrument side).

Customer Support : 5
unknown; i've never had to open it up other than changing batteries.

a wah-wah pedal is a must for any guitarist's collection, plus they are usually affordable if you can live with the classic crybaby.

Stomp it on spomp it of and rock it back and fourth. how much easier could it be?

I got mine used so the potentiometer is worn. It crackels sometimes But after it wears in it screams like hell.

Reliability : 9
It is very reliable after the crackle wears out.

I got it used so I Wouldn't know

If my wha died I would probably buy another. I love the sound and use it a lot. Mine is older, probably twenty-five years, so I don't have a real good idea what the new ones sound like. But if the new ones are any thing like mine, they probably are worth buying.

This Wah pedal is as easy as any interactive effect gets. It's all in the feet.

Sound Quality : 5
Initially my pedal was excellent but after an extended period of use I found that it exhibited the problems that many on this page have experienced. That is the noise in the Potentiometer. Could be dust or wearing contacts. In any case it is DAMN annoying when one is recording with this effect.

Reliability : 6
I can depend on a good sound when the pedal is not swept across the spectrum. If I want a sweeping sound then I get noise. What a BUGGER!!

Customer Support : 4
I bought mine from a dealer specialising in second hand musical instruments. The answer to my problems was rather second hand as well. "Just clean it. It happens to all of them!" How many of you have heard that before? There is no real Dunlop dealer in my state so this is not a reflection of the Dunlop companies service and support!!!

Overall Rating : 7
A very good pedal except for the scratchy Pot. I would like to try one of the pedals that incorporates optical electronics. These should have no electro-mechanical parts to stuff up your sound.

I have no opinion on this because I bought mine used .

Overall Rating : 8
As I stated earlier I bought mine used. Ever since Ibought it there has been a slight problem with static in tha pot, but I think it's only because it's abused by me and has gotten a bit worn down. But it's noth!ng that I could not fix myself, NOTHING LASTS FOREVER , does it?

If you have to explain this, than you should have your eye-balls sucked out and rammed into your rectum.

Noisy and transistory. Will effect tone even when turned off. Not enough range of sonic travel, but Hendrix or Page did'nt have a problem with theirs did they?
