I want to start off by saying I don't write many reviews, not because I don't want to but I'm just too lazy at times. Anyway but I do read a lot of reviews at this site and I depend upon the information that real user provide so it's only fair to share as much as I can about this pedal especially since it is pretty costly and people want to be as sure as possible before they purchase one. Nuff said, let get to it. Get the damn pedal. It's not hard to use. When I first tried it, I didn't do anything but plug it up and hit a note and I knew at that very second that I made a good investment.

I have all kinds of wahs (Dunlop Cry Baby Classic, Dunlop Cry Baby 535, Vox Clyde McCoy, Wilson Effects 12 position Rippah Q-wah, the white Fulltone wah and a couple of other) BUT I was never completely happy with the sound of either of them. This wah is it. If you're sitting on the fence and wondering should you buy it, have no fear because this pedal won't let you down. None of that annoying crackling, scratchy sounds just thick and rich, creamy, noise free, lovely wah goodness. The best I ever had. I'm completely happy now, as far as was pedals are concerned

I haven't had it long enough to judge reliability so no comment (That what I meant about being lazy at times)

No comment about customer support. I don't have the time to ponder on that now because I just want to get back to jamming with this wah.

Just get it, and it will greatly improve your sound if you are a wah wah user, and then tell me if I was exaggerating or telling the truth....

Pretty easy
I mean, plug guitar into input, output goes to amp, plug in as many controllers as you want and your pretty much ready. Take a bit of time to tweak your own tone with the EQ but in general very easy.

I play a homemade guitar predominantly. That has an alder body with EMG ZW set pickups. That goes into the wah, and i have a Boss Noise surpressor, Boss Tuner, Digitech Whammy 4 and a EH small clone chorus. The amp i use is a Peavey 6505 through a windsor cab at the moment, and i have a boss giga delay in the fx loop. I think personally this rig is perfect for my needs, and the wah is excellent. I am wanting to slowly phase my gear into rack stuff, and im saving for a decent wireless kit to go straight into the wah to cut out the excess cable all over the place.
The sound can emulate pretty much any wah out there, and the added fact that you can have multiple pedals on the stage is also great. Just need that wireless kit beforehand!!!!!

Well it hasnt been gigged as of yet, but it seems pretty robust. Steel caseing. Definately looks and feels like it could take a hammering, but then again if its in the rack at the back of the stage i cant see it getting kicked about much anyway....

Customer support was great. When i was ordering it from the custom shop they were very helpful and quick to respond.

I play in a melodic metal band, we draw influences from power metal to thrash metal. This wah does exactly what i need, and much more. I cant see myself needing all 6 frequency settings but its great for if my taste in wah changes. Ive been playing for 7 years now, and started off with an original crybaby which i loved. sadly it died, and i went or a morley power wah... big big mistake!!! I had always wanted that really deep wah tone of kirk hammett and slash, and saw a dvd of Michael Ammott from arch enemy going through his gear, this wah was in it and it sounded fantastic.
My only real gripe is the cost. I know its custom shop, but it just seems so steep. The cost would be the only thing that would make me think twice about re buying it if stolen, but if i could afford it, i would. The cost is the reason why I could only give it an 8

How easy is it to get a good sound out of it?
Very easy to get about any wah tone I could want.
The "manual" is kinda silly, it tells you how to plug it in and a few basics about dialing in a tone...the kind of stuff that I assume anyone you bought this unit could do in their sleep. There are no specifications in the manual, so if you want that sort of thing, you'll have to call Dunlop.

I'm running a variety of guitars, my main being a Steinberger GM4TA with EMG 81's and SA's, into a rack setup. The Sennheiser EW100 reciever goes into a Sabine RT7000 tuner, into the Dunlop rack wah, to the Marshall JMP-1, with a Rocktron Intellifex in the loop, into a Marshall EL84 20/20, into 1960 cabs.
The whole rig is very quiet, no hum thanks to the IFX hush. The Dunlop adds no noise to the rig.
The wah is awesome. It's a professional tool, and a hell of a lot of fun. It will get all the wah tones I've imagined. It will duplicate anybody's crybaby. There are too many artists that I admire to list here, but this unit nails all the tones from Hendrix to Petrucci.

I wont know how dependable it is for a while. As far as using it without a backup, I'm too spoiled by the tone of this thing to consider a backup. If it breaks, I'll do without it until I can replace it.

I haven't really dealt with support much. They answer emails. They sent the unit within a few days of order.

I've been playing since I was a lad, and as a pro for over 20 years.
I've owned or demoed about everything built for guitar.
I'm a rack gear guy because the right rack gear is superior to stompboxes in general, in every way except maybe cost (I'm not talking about Behringer here). Most of the time, great rack gear is actually less expensive than the equivalent chain of toys on the floor.
I'm a fanatic for a short signal path. I like the idea of the guitar's pickups being connected to the amp with the minimum of tone-stealing crap in the way. That's what led me to this unit.
I play mostly hard rock, but it doesn't matter, this wah is "the one" for any style. At the moment, I think it's the best wah in the world.
I give it a nine only because I could only get a new one factory direct, and for a factory direct unit I think it's a tad overpriced.

WARNING: the one I bought was DOA. This is most likely because someone hooked it up incorrectly and fed high voltage to the input, since the unit's clip light glows continuosly when power is applied, input connected or not. It came out of the box this way from a seller who claimed that it was fully tested, but he did not supply the stereo cable. This is the catch: The stereo cable with a male on each end is not a common item. You can't buy one at a guitar store or electronics store, you have to get one from Dunlop or make one yourself. If the cable is not supplied with a used unit, beware that the unit might not be in working condition. It can't be fully tested without the cable. Anyway, I obtained the cable while the unit was being shipped to me, only to find that the unit was inoperative in all functions except bypass...even when switched on manually.
I imagine that in the right hands this unit is extremely reliable, as I've heard no other complaints. The big boys wouldn't be using it on the road if it wasn't reliable. Just be cautious of the used ones in the hands of retailers in a mail order scenario when the stereo cable is missing.

here's what i'm running the wah with:
Kirk Hamett Signature ESP LDT w/ EMG 81/85 PUs and B.C. Rich NJ Series Neck Thru Warlock w/ 2 EMG 81 pickups -->
Shure The Guitarist Wireless System -->
Korg DTR-2000 -->
Dunlop DCR-2SR Rack Wah -->
Mesa/Boogie Triaxis (Rocktron Hush Super C in FX Loop)
DOD SR831QXLR 31 Band EQ -->
Digital Music GCX Guitar Audio Switcher:
*Boss DD-6 Digital Delay
*Electro-Harmonix PolyChorus
*Ibanez FL9 Flanger
*Digitech Whammy4 / Moog MF-102 Moogerfooger Ring Modulator, Dunlop Rotovibe, Dunlop Crybaby Original, Ernie Ball Volume Pedal
*=GCX Loops -->
Mesa/Boogie 2:90 Power Amp -->
THD Hot Plate 8oms -->
Mesa/Boogie Angled 4x12 Closed Back cab w/ Vintage 30s
everything loaded with monster cables. furman power conditioner and plug lock. ernie ball strings (regular slinky for standard tuning and skinny top/heavy bottom for down tuned 1 step). dunlop 1mm picks.
with this rig i've gotten the best tone i've ever had.
before puchasing this wah i've used several other wahs. my 1st wah was a dunlop crybaby original, then a dunlop crybaby 535Q, then a crybaby classic, a vox clyde mc coy and finally the rack wah. over all this is the best wah ever produced by man! the vox is close cause it has true bypass but this is customizable beyond belief!

i play mainly metal music in the style of metallica (kill em all to black album), slayer, rammstein, megadeth, pantera and those sorts of bands and it fits my style PERFECTLLY! i've been playing for 8 years and i've been through a fair share of gear and i know good gear when i hear it!
if this was ever stolen (cause i'd never ever lose it!) i'd hunt the guy down and get very creative with sharp objects and get it back!
if is a little pricy but WELL worth it! that's why i'm giving it a 9 instead of a 10. and also cause the cable it came with was a little crummy but i haven't had any problems with it so far.
THE PERFECT WAH!
