I'm playing American Strat, Peavey Ultra 212, And the crybaby. There is no external noise from pedal. The boost switch is a nice feature, and the wah is very good, I have no problems with the sound of this pedal

I have only one complaint with this pedal, when you turn on the wah, the volume decreases a little, so going from a clean rythym, to a clean wah wah lead is hard to do. The boost does not work when the wah is turned on. I also wish the volume pedal had a minimum setting.

It's very easy to use! You just press down on the pedal and it's a wah. When the wah is off is't a volume pedal. It did take a bit of "training" to get the feel of turning the wah on/off, but once you do it's real simple. The only other thing (which is more of my problem due to how a previous wah I owned worked) is to get in the habit of leaving the bedal all the way forward when turning the wah off (I used to bring the pedal all the back when I turned the wah off, which on this pedal also kills the volume).

After reading all the previous reviews about how the wah is weak, I have to say that alot of these users are way off base! I think it's got an excellent wah sound and range. The lows are fat, round and nasal, the mids are bright, clear and biting and the highs have that right amount of "theme from Shaft" slap and sass. I do know that you can't put this in an effects loop, so maybe that's what other people have done and experienced. THe volume aspect of the pedal could have more range to it, but for swells it's great. It is tricky to do a long fade out or in, but it's something that can be done with some practice. I don't like the volume boost switch - it tends to distort any clean sounds.

I've owned Dunlop wahs in the past, and I've never had any problems with them. I've even modified some of mine in the past with no repercussions. It's built like a freaking tank! The pots do need to be cleaned once and awhile, but it's all part of overall maintenence (afterall, you do need to change strings on your guitars, and nobody complains about that) of your gear (although I admit I have my guitar tech take care of all of that). I gig without a backup, and am comfortable doing so. In fact, I would also use it to defend myself in a street fight (put it in a pillow case, start swinging, and you could do some serious damage to a cranium!).

Never dealt with them, so I coudn't say. Their website seems comprehensive enough, though.

The band I play and tour in, KATELLA (www.katella.net) plays a wide range of rock - different textures, emotions and sounds. This piece of gear suits it just fine!

Simple wah/volume pedal. The Volume mode (which I bought it for) is good, doesn't suck tone, and the side has a red button for volume boost, which is nice. The problem is, when you switch to wah mode, the boost is gone (so for you wah nuts, I wouldn't recommend). The wah\volume switch itself is nice, it only takes half the pressure to switch on, the only problem with that is until you get used to using less effort, you could find that amazing solo dropping out volume wise rather than doing the wah thing. My rating of "8" is based on the volume mode, I'm bored with wah and don't use it much, I just reasoned that this pedal would be a good compromise to eliminating a wah from my chain all-together. Again, If you like wah, this one sounds a little weak. I never tried any otehr brands of Wah\Volume out there, maybe there is a better compromise than this out there. My bet, though, is if you're a solist who likes to enunciate those notes, a sperate Wah is probably your best bet.

My setup: Various guitars (I always use neck pickups, I like the darker tones), into A\b box (to switch to a korg tuner) into this wah\volume, then electra phase (this is a 70's small stone, Electra was apparently a cheaper version they made, if you find one, buy it!) then ts-9, pro co Rat, GE-7 EQ, Dynacomp, Morley Emerald echo, then all of that into my trusty Carvin 100 watt stack. Again, the volume mode is nice, doesn't suck tone, even has a nice volume boost. But if you're looking for a Wah, this probably ain't it.

I've got three different dunlop rocker type pedals. My crybaby squeaks a little, but these things are tough. I generally don't worry about backups at all. I don't rely on any effects as "essential" to my sound, I can play my stuff through just a nice overdriven amp if need be, but my money says this thing will last damn near forever.

Like I said, I don't use Wah much, so the volume was my main attraction to this pedal. The volume boost is a nice feature, I just wish they'd redesign it to affect the Wah tone. That would make for a better value, in my opinion. I bought this pedal to take up less space (I had BOTH a volume and a crybaby in my board, I found myself rarely using the wah, so why waste the space and add the weight, lets just throw some money around instead...), if it was stolen or lost, I'd probably look around for a better wah tone, but there's a chance I'd buy it again. Especially if they redesigned it. But I can't stress this enough: I didn't really like my crybaby wah (took me six years to realize that), I like this one even less. DON'T buy this for the wah feature just to save space or money. A wah is a seperate beast and should be treated as such. It might save you money initially, but in the long run you'll just go out and buy a hotter wah.
