I love the sound of this wah, im sick of people complaining about it. It always sounds great in front of my Ds-1 its blistering, hands down. I had this for a while and tryed my freinds Hendrix Wah, and i thought it sounded better, all i did was adjust the sweep and it reduced the ear bleed inducing toe down and made the wah work better on the low strings.

Sounds good in most situations. I have tried the high priced whas by Budda, Teese, etc and they also have their pros and cons. When you look at the prices the Dunlop is a good deal.

Here's the problem. Bought a new one only to hav ethe switch jam on me during the first rehearsal I used it. The dealer was kind enough to simply give me another new pedal. This second pedal has a defective input jack.(you shouldn't have to push the cable into the jack with all your might)

The dealerwasn't too anxious to have to deal with Dunlop to try to repair my first defective wah pedal so that must mean something.

I have played some Dunlop wahs that were fine sounding pedals and seemed to be pretty solid. The two I have recently been stuck with have soured my opinion.

Quite easy actually! You stomp on the Wah and you use the pedal back and forth for that classic sound!

Mine was an old version of the GCB-95 (bought 5 years ago)! So, of course, the pot was dead one year after and the sound wasn't really good... So, this year (yeah I know, I'm not really fast), I decided to change it radically...
I put the new Fasel inductor (still from Dunlop), switch a couple of resistors here and there, I also put a new Fulltone long life pot and finally, the wah is now true bypass... I also removed the input buffer... A lot of things but it now sounds a lot more better and natural than the previous version of it!
So, the sound is a lot more rounder and warmer, but the best thing is that it's a lot more clear! The notes get through better... And you don't have that harshness found in the old version...
I took a chance with the new Fasel Inductor since it is new (a couple of weeks old) and I wasn't sure between this one and the Fulltone one... The latter being more expensive... I cannot make any statement about Fulltone, but the "new" Red Fasel from Dunlop sounds good... There is also a Yellow one who is supposed to be a little more "vintage" about the sound..

I think that with the new pot and the Carling DPDT, it's much more reliable... But outside of the old pot, the Dunlop case and everything were quite reliable... I never had a problem with it...

I use it with a strat and Fender amp and a couple of effects...
Very nice with the mods on it... Far more better and probably more reliable in the long run than the old version...

Is it easy to use? Let me put it this way: Is Avril Lavigne a crappy manufactured pop idol who has been handed a guitar?(The answer to my debatable sarcasm is a big, screaming YES!)
Couldn't be easier if they tried! Step on the switch on the toe to engage, step back on it to bypass.

My setup isn't really that complex:
Ibanez SA160>Boss Ds-1 distorion>GCB-95 Crybaby>Boss BF-3 flanger>Marshall VS2000 AVT 20.
This thing sounds kick ass! Using a gentle sweep on the flanger and the neck single coil on the Ibanez, I can get a really cool funky kinda "chicka chicka" type sound going. Crank the distorion and using the bridge humbucker, the shit hits the fan. The pedal has that Steve Vai high frequency we've all come to love, or the classic hendrix "voodoo chile" style ballsy grunt. There is a little hum on the single coils, but that comes with the territory really. These things happen; anyone who moans about pedals being noisy is a fool! All analog pedals create at least some noise, so stop bitching about your equipment being the problem. If you can't make it sound the way you want, it's your fault, not the pedal's.

I'd gig with this in a heartbeat. The top is made of cast iron if I'm not mistaken, so it sholud last the distance. The guy I bought had had it for ages before I took it off his hands and said it never acted up.I believe him too! It's built like a Shermen tank for fuck sake!

I play a little of everything from Foo Fighters to Funk to Jazz to Blues to metal. There is little this pedal can't tackle. If it were stolen I'd use the insurance money to buy another. I love its stability- it definetly fells like there's something there when you turn it on. This pedal is nothing short of ace. Check it out!

You step on it and it ativates, then you use the pedal to make a wah sound. There's not much to this pedal, however, you have to step on it quite hard to activate it, making sitting down and playing rather difficult (but not impossible)... So is why I'm giving it an 8.

I play a Yamaha guitar (with and active pickup system) into this wah, then a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, then a Boss GE-7 Equalizor, and I love the sound. Some other reviews say that this is kind of a noisy pedal, but I find it quiets my whole effects set up (not that there's much there right now). Near the high end there's a bit of noise I've noticed, but you can't hear it unless you stop playing and push the pedal all the way down, so it doesn't bother me when I play. The set-up I've got now allows me to have a Metallica-ish style distortion, so when I was looking for a Wah pedal, I was looking for a Kirk Hammet lead sound, and when I first tried this out, I had immediately found what I was looking for. I love this pedal, it give's a great sound, and I don't find it's too noisy. If you want a cool wah pedal, buy this one!

I was amazed at how small it actually was when I received it in the mail; especially since the package was a little on the heavier side of things. Not that it's a load to lug around with you, but you can feel the weight. It's solid metal! I don't think it can be destroyed by any conventional means.

Though I can't really say if you wanna play Hendrix-like stuff then this is the pedal for you, but I can say that this pedal is great for metal. It gives a great sound, not too much bass yet, not too much trebel as to make you ears hurt on high volumes. It's a great pedal, and can take one helluva beating. I've owned a few auto-wah's in the past, but this wah kicks all their asses. I reccomend buying it.

It can get a little noisy when you put the toe down but it's not that bad. This is an ideal effect for getting the famous kirk hammett or dimebag darrell sound.

I get exactly what I want from this. Though not as radical as their Q models, still very effective. It's a bit hard to turn on at first, but easy once you use it a few times.

I use this on both my bass and guitar rigs. Because I wanted a better wah sound than my multiFX could give me, this entered the picture. It is noisy when it's on, but that adds to the vibe when I use it. At higher gain modes (e.g., metal), the wah sound is a bit less pronounced, but still usable, and makes leads sound and feel SEXY and NASTY! (Especially when used as a notch filter.)
No problem getting the classic clean and overdrive stuff with this. I hook the wah before the overdrive that I use as a boost. Here are some setups I use:
Blues/Rock:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > (optional) Ibanez DS7 Distortion > guitar amp input of Fender Deluxe 85 > DOD GS30 in FX loop
Metal:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > either a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone, or a Hyper Metal HM-3 > guitar amp input > DOD GS30 in FX loop
Bass:
bass > Dunlop wah > (optional) TS7 > (optional) HM-3 > DigiTech BP200 (used for amp modeling, FX and volume control) > Low Gain input on Peavey TNT 115
The wah interacts well with most of the GS30's effects, except for maybe the ring modulator and the pixellator. The extra bit of bass I get from using the BP200's amp models improves the wah's sound.

Very dependable! This thing's built out of cast iron (I think). Should last me until I'm in the rocking chair, perhaps beyond, if maintained and used well.
No backups necessary, except for fresh batteries.

I play rock, metal, and dance tunes mostly. If some fool steals this from me, and throws it down an erupting volcano, I'd have the guy arrested, and demand that he pay me for a new one, plus taxes and shipping! No way, punk!
As soon as I got used to the switch, all was cool. Helps me make some sexy music. I think the wah's the sexiest effect ever made, man. Just listen to all the classic Hendrix/disco/blues/raunchy rock tunes that have good wah stuff with your significant other with the lights down, and you'll feel it, baby!

Ok, so it is quite noisy when you put it into the high treble part. It works better clean, I think anyway. It does have a very nice wah sound, though, and I much prefer it to the Vox, although it is really a matter of taste.

I play rocky stuff like metallica annd red hot chilis. It is briliant in my opinion, although far from perfect. It could do with a wider range of tone, although it does beat the vox in that department. I hate the stupid fact that the on/off switch is so damn tough. Other than that, it is definately the best pedal for the price.

i use a charvel cx 291 into this wah then into a zoom gfx 707 then into a peavey delta blues 210. This pedal isnt that noisy it does raise the level a bit. The effect is a little weak in the bass end to muddy. U can get the sound of many favorite artists such as hendrix and clapton. This effect works really well with fuzz and chorus and alright with distortion except the effects comes a litle weaker. This Pedal has an overall great sound

This is a classic wah pedal. Its a pain in the ass to use.i wish it had a grip on it,i think i heard that morley wah's have grip on it.whats hard to use about this thing is that if you spill some kind of liquid like soda or beer on it your feet will slip off the pedal.also when i first bought this i thought it was broken because it was turned off and i didnt know that you had to press really really hard on the end to turn it on until my friend did it.but its not impossible to use though.i just think a morley bad horsie would be better.i havent made any upgrades on this.

This pedal is too noisy.I use this with my ibanez rg7420 and my marshall avt20.I put the amp in overdrive and you can hear this pedal while its off, which is bad.i think i would need somekind of noise gate pedal if i ever wanted to use this live. The wah is pretty good, hey its a classic wah pedal made by dunlop what do you expect.I havent tried any other wah pedals so i cant compare it to any other ones.I just bought this pedal cuz i thought the wah was cool and its cool how you can control it by rocking it back and forth, unlike boss/ibanez/dod pedals!but the loudness of this pedal definetly is a weakness.
