Its a wah-wah pedal people. It cant be that hard. The way u have to press on the toe to get it to switch on/off is just a matter of working it in and getting used to it. If you press hard on the front atleast you will know if its on or off.

Mine is a little bit older but that just made to sound quality more vintage and nicer. I can get the amazing hendrix sound.I play a lot of Stevie Ray too and all u need is to use the neck pickup and a tubescreamer with the wah and your on your way. The pedal has the hendrix sound in it. Its better than i even thought it would be. MY set up for now is: Cort Mirage 500>crybaby gcb-95>danelectro flanger>ts7 tubescreamer(for lead boost)>fender deluxe 90(use amp channel drive for normal distortion)

I play tons of blues and probly one of the best 14 year old players around. I play tons of hendrix, allman brothers, clapton, and stevie ray vaughan. Even though im only 14 i've been playing for 5 years and play with top notch local players that give me advice so im pretty wise with this stuff. This is a great pedal. Dont go buying morleys, there is no wah sound in them and the way the rock back and forth is bad, it moves too easliy. If your playing stevie ray, clapton, or hendrix use a dunlop. Try the older ones if u can find one. They are the best.

good really good. I play old 70's, 80's heavy metal/rock and this thing just sings for solos or funk rythm parts. I play hendrix and this thing is great. You kinda have to use it after your dist or the range is kind of shallow but after dist this sucker gives sweeping highs and lows.
The only problem is if the battery is low the pedal becomes weaker and weaker and its weak for a long time, so you dont really notice but it gradually starts to sound really bad, thank god for adapters.

but the on/of swtich is f#@%ing horor

great choice! It's perfectly fit in.
If was stolen I would buy it again for sure.
Dont need any backup - it will still work even if the battery is empty. so if it's runs out at the middle of a song just turn the wah off and replace the battry before the next one begins.

I gave this peddle an 8 for ease of use as it has one off on switch and the peddle. I did not give it a 10 because i feel it is not as easy to use as some morley switchless peddles. There is a basic set up guide included but is not really needed.

I use an LP > ts7(Overdrive) > Crybaby wah > MT2(distortion)> 50 watt soid state combo.
The wah sounds great. It copes well with everything from clean to hammett style wah quite simply. I liked the sweep on this a lot. I play slightly more metal hendrix covers and metallica(nothing off st anger) and the only fault i find is the slight decrease in volume. I have solved this by including the ts7 as a boost when im using the pedal to play lead. I have given this an eight but it was a hard thing to rate as it comes down to a matter of taste.

For the metal and rock style i mostly play it is a very usable pedal but i find it comes into a league of its own when playing stuff like gnr. Long slash style bends are dealt with easily and boosted by the great mid this pedal posses. For the price there is no competition and it is much better than vox wahs and morley wahs that cost #100+. The best way to decide if this pedal is right for you is to go to your local dealer and have a go.

Mine was an old version of the GCB-95 (bought 5 years ago)! So, of course, the pot was dead one year after and the sound wasn't really good... So, this year (yeah I know, I'm not really fast), I decided to change it radically...
I put the new Fasel inductor (still from Dunlop), switch a couple of resistors here and there, I also put a new Fulltone long life pot and finally, the wah is now true bypass... I also removed the input buffer... A lot of things but it now sounds a lot more better and natural than the previous version of it!
So, the sound is a lot more rounder and warmer, but the best thing is that it's a lot more clear! The notes get through better... And you don't have that harshness found in the old version...
I took a chance with the new Fasel Inductor since it is new (a couple of weeks old) and I wasn't sure between this one and the Fulltone one... The latter being more expensive... I cannot make any statement about Fulltone, but the "new" Red Fasel from Dunlop sounds good... There is also a Yellow one who is supposed to be a little more "vintage" about the sound..

I think that with the new pot and the Carling DPDT, it's much more reliable... But outside of the old pot, the Dunlop case and everything were quite reliable... I never had a problem with it...

Is it easy to use? Let me put it this way: Is Avril Lavigne a crappy manufactured pop idol who has been handed a guitar?(The answer to my debatable sarcasm is a big, screaming YES!)
Couldn't be easier if they tried! Step on the switch on the toe to engage, step back on it to bypass.

My setup isn't really that complex:
Ibanez SA160>Boss Ds-1 distorion>GCB-95 Crybaby>Boss BF-3 flanger>Marshall VS2000 AVT 20.
This thing sounds kick ass! Using a gentle sweep on the flanger and the neck single coil on the Ibanez, I can get a really cool funky kinda "chicka chicka" type sound going. Crank the distorion and using the bridge humbucker, the shit hits the fan. The pedal has that Steve Vai high frequency we've all come to love, or the classic hendrix "voodoo chile" style ballsy grunt. There is a little hum on the single coils, but that comes with the territory really. These things happen; anyone who moans about pedals being noisy is a fool! All analog pedals create at least some noise, so stop bitching about your equipment being the problem. If you can't make it sound the way you want, it's your fault, not the pedal's.

You step on it and it ativates, then you use the pedal to make a wah sound. There's not much to this pedal, however, you have to step on it quite hard to activate it, making sitting down and playing rather difficult (but not impossible)... So is why I'm giving it an 8.

I play a Yamaha guitar (with and active pickup system) into this wah, then a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, then a Boss GE-7 Equalizor, and I love the sound. Some other reviews say that this is kind of a noisy pedal, but I find it quiets my whole effects set up (not that there's much there right now). Near the high end there's a bit of noise I've noticed, but you can't hear it unless you stop playing and push the pedal all the way down, so it doesn't bother me when I play. The set-up I've got now allows me to have a Metallica-ish style distortion, so when I was looking for a Wah pedal, I was looking for a Kirk Hammet lead sound, and when I first tried this out, I had immediately found what I was looking for. I love this pedal, it give's a great sound, and I don't find it's too noisy. If you want a cool wah pedal, buy this one!

I was amazed at how small it actually was when I received it in the mail; especially since the package was a little on the heavier side of things. Not that it's a load to lug around with you, but you can feel the weight. It's solid metal! I don't think it can be destroyed by any conventional means.

Though I can't really say if you wanna play Hendrix-like stuff then this is the pedal for you, but I can say that this pedal is great for metal. It gives a great sound, not too much bass yet, not too much trebel as to make you ears hurt on high volumes. It's a great pedal, and can take one helluva beating. I've owned a few auto-wah's in the past, but this wah kicks all their asses. I reccomend buying it.

I use this on both my bass and guitar rigs. Because I wanted a better wah sound than my multiFX could give me, this entered the picture. It is noisy when it's on, but that adds to the vibe when I use it. At higher gain modes (e.g., metal), the wah sound is a bit less pronounced, but still usable, and makes leads sound and feel SEXY and NASTY! (Especially when used as a notch filter.)
No problem getting the classic clean and overdrive stuff with this. I hook the wah before the overdrive that I use as a boost. Here are some setups I use:
Blues/Rock:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > (optional) Ibanez DS7 Distortion > guitar amp input of Fender Deluxe 85 > DOD GS30 in FX loop
Metal:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > either a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone, or a Hyper Metal HM-3 > guitar amp input > DOD GS30 in FX loop
Bass:
bass > Dunlop wah > (optional) TS7 > (optional) HM-3 > DigiTech BP200 (used for amp modeling, FX and volume control) > Low Gain input on Peavey TNT 115
The wah interacts well with most of the GS30's effects, except for maybe the ring modulator and the pixellator. The extra bit of bass I get from using the BP200's amp models improves the wah's sound.

As soon as I got used to the switch, all was cool. Helps me make some sexy music. I think the wah's the sexiest effect ever made, man. Just listen to all the classic Hendrix/disco/blues/raunchy rock tunes that have good wah stuff with your significant other with the lights down, and you'll feel it, baby!

kay, my setup is a dillion dse-533 deluxe into led modded ds1->CRYBABY->dano chorus->dano trem->holy grail reverb->arion stage tuner->fender silverface champ->sm57->presonus blue tube->p.a. or other reinforcement. if youre wondering why i have it after the ds1, its because it sounds awful with distortion in any place, so i put it where it looked best on my board, since i cant use it at the same time with anything. alone it is okay for rhythm work, but for soloing the upper midrange is hideous, very warbly, not vocal sounding, just painful really. sounds worse the louder it gets too. has a volume drop to it. it sounds wonderful for rhythm work, but anything else...no.

i got this when i first switched from folk to electric music. i figured, i want a wah, ill get a crybaby. like nearly every electric player, i am a huge hendrix fan. the thing is, i can cop some jimi, but i am NOT him, nor am i clapton, or any of those other guys. how do they make these sound good? by being totally assured and kick ass players. im just not that good yet, nor i suspect are most who buy this pedal, judging from reviews as well as seeing folks use them. im going to look into either selling this and getting a budda wah or a 535q maybe, or possibly making a project out of this one with new parts. im not horrified by it, it does okay for rhythm, but is too bitchy about its treble range for my playing. i got it because i didnt know any better basically. also, because i didnt realize that VOX actually made hendrix's pedal. oh well, live and learn.
stolen or lost? i dont think id lose it. stolen, im insured, bring it on.
bottom line, try it, try others, read reviews, know what youre getting.

I've been playing sometimes professionally, but mostly for my own enjoyment since 1981 and I never bought a wah. I play a little of everything from Classic Rock to funk to Metal to classical. I Walked into my local Guitar Center last week and asked for one, and lucky day, someone had just returned one. It was "new", and only cost me $50, which is apparently a steal. Fact is, I, like most, got this pedal specifically to get that famous Hendrix (Guitar God #1) sound...and I got just what I wanted. This is also perfect for SRV, Eric Johnson, some Vai, anything from the 60's 70's. Nothing quite like that chuka-chuka funky shuffle shit...love it! Voodoo Chile BEGS to be played on this pedal. It sounds great...period. Unlike some above, I had no problem recreating the sounds I wanted, in fact, I was astounded at how easy it was to use. I'm more excited to play guitar than I have been in ten years...my only gripe is with myself...why didn't I get one of these earlier? DOH!

Be advised that, though I love this pedal, I wish it didn't suck tone as much as it does. So given that, and the fact that it is very noisy when coupled with distortion, but that that chuka-chuka sound still gives me chills, I give it a 6 for sound quality.

Built to take punishment. The only thing that needs servicing, and which I take care of every six months or so is the switch. But that's common knowledge with these pedals.

Over the years I have owned several wah's - Dunlops, Fulltone Clyde's, Morley's, Boss V-Wah, etc... I have to say, for me anyway, the only pedal that creates that vintage 70's Waka-Waka scratch sound is the Dunlop. For Funk players looking for that vintage "Scratch" sound this is the pedal. For gain mongers I would suggest the Clyde or a Morley. Again, this is just my opinion.

for a 200 buck wah it's pretty good. great to start off with, coz there are no controls, you just stamp on it and it goes wah. but once you start getting a little better at guitar and you start noticing the little things, you begin to realise what the true capabilities of this wah are. i've had this wah pedal since i started playing about 3 years ago, and i've become a real fan of the dunlop wah sound. i don't really like the sound of vox or budda wahs, but i guess that using this wah for so long has been a major factor in that
the things i don't like much about this wah are that it has a lot of volume loss when it's in the heal down position, and way too much volume when it's in the toe down position. i've been told that it could be the order of the chain, but having this before distortion sucks the wah sound out of it. it sounds shitloads better after distortion effects. also, using heaps of gain can limit the wah sound, but if you need to use that much gain you obviously don't have a very sensitive ear for sound haha
the other thing is that the wah sound is very dramatic. almost ear piercing if you use it to forcefully in the toe down position. i'm going to have to try the 535Q, and tweak all the knobs
i'm using this pedal after a Zoom Tri-metal, and before a boss noise suppressor, and into a Marshall JCM900 Master Volume. my sound is almost there....would be better if i had enough money to buy a mesa markIV and some emg's, but what i've got now is awesome on it's own so i'll have to deal with it :(

this thing is a brick haha. you can't break it. well you could...but what kind of idiot buys something for 200 bucks and then breaks it intentionally? as far as effects go, this is up with the best of them as far as reliability goes

if only this thing had some controls for me to play with! but as a wah to start your guitaring with, this thing is the greatest. it's cheap, and it sounds pretty good, and you can't break it, nothing else you can ask for in a $200 wah pedal. but my beginnings as a guitarist are over, and it's time to move up the ladder

Well, my setup is a Washburn WR150 (guitar) and a Marshall Valvestae 40V (amp). It sounds like classic hendrix and clapton when i dont uuse any distortion and when I use me Boss HM-2 heavy meatal pedal, It's nuts! The sound is great and u better beleive it sounds like Kirk Hammett or Zakk Wylde (ZW is better!,lol)

Simplest pedal i have ever seen, click the toe to turn it on, heel back for bass, toe forward for treble, click the toe to turn it off again. Simple. Although there isn't really a need for a manual, the one it comes with explains it's simplicity. So easy to use.

My current setup is: Samick Fat Strat copy > GCB-95 > Boss DS-1 > Peavey solid state. (I know that's a pretty weak set-up, but I'm working on it). I originally had the wah after distortion, but after some experimenting, i have discovered it is more effective first. It has a nice sound, but it's a bit noisy. When the pedal is off there's a bit of noise but not too much.

This thing is built to last. I would gig with this pedal without a backup any time. My friend has the same one and it's survived trips down the stairs into his cement floor in his basement, and there isn't as much as a scratch. My experiences are much the same.

I play mostly alt. rock and a bit of grundge, and this pedal fits pretty well. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years, and just now I'm really starting to get a good set-up going and I guarentee this will be the main wah pedal. I love the simplicity of this pedal and the fact it will probably last as long as any boss pedal out there. If this pedal were lost or stolen, I would probably replace it. I don't care what everyone else says, this pedal rocks!

It's a wah, that's how easy it is to use. You push your foot back and forth to change the treble and the wah effect. To turn onn and off you simply apply an increased amount of pressure to the front.

In short, this wah just sound. Like many other people, i bought it simply because of the initial feel of using a wah pedal to add theat classic sound. However, when I finally got this home i realised it wasn't such a great choice. The main problem with this pedal is that the effect is incredibly uneven. What I mean, is that the sound is extremely slow in changing up untill your foot reaches the middle where the trebble is suddenly increased giving you a sudden changing sound rather than a smooth wah. The second thing which is wrong with this pedal is the amount which it changes the tone on my amp. As there is no bypass in the off position, even when you're not using the pedal, you find that your distortion is cut and your tone weakened noticably. And thirdly,. just to finish it off, it'ss one hell of a noisy pedal

Without any distortion at all, this pedal aint all that bad if you can excuse the noise. However, add even a slight bit of distortion and it just sounds awful. If you want a wah pedal and this is the only one you can afford, then just keep saving for that Morley or Vox. And don't be fooled by the name. It may be the original but it definitely aint the best.

I think we all know how to use one of this, don't we?
Now, getting a decent lead solo out of this thing is just impossible.
Good for stupid and boring chuka- chaka rythm.
I don't know about the manual because it's not mine, a friend of mine lets me use it, and I've played it for three or four months.

This thing blows, no joke. SO hard to make leads stand out with the wah on. No expression at all, the only time you can actually hear say it wah is when sweeping all the way from bass to treble so there's no way to articulate a damn solo. It pisses me off.
Maybe I am using the wrong kind of amp (solid state amp) and this sounds awesome through a Marshall or a Mesa, but If you are playing a solid state amp this wah pedal is gonna suck.
It goes from bass to treble and there's nothing in between, I think that's the main problem with it, no midrange whatsoever. Also the transition from bass to treble is not smooth at all. I just can't make it scream, not even when I turn the mids all the way up on my amp, and I'm playing DiMarzio humbuckers.
NO. I cannot make the sound of my favorite artists (Satriani, Vai, Hammett) because their wah wah pedals don't suck and this one does.
If you play lead and want to make yor solos scream and cut through the mix, then forget this one.
