EVERYONE can use this thing. Click on it and it works.... i got the hang of it inmediatly

Sound Quality : 9
I use a Epiphone les paul standart with a fender frontman... I use the overdrive thats on the amp. That all plus the crybaby. Its simple and it sounds %&$#in AWESOME!! The Crybaby is defenatly the best Wah around... The only disadvantage is that you cant hear the wah on the really high notes. But its still the freakin best

Reliability : 10
You can build a house on it... its unbreakable. Yeah i use it without backup. No need for it

Customer Support : No Opinion
The pedal is so good i never had to deal with that......

Overall Rating : 10
I play everything... From Heavy metal to trash punk. This is the best invention there is. If it got stolen i would buy a new one again again and again. I've considerd a morley wah volume wah too, but i've read here this one was better... and it is. It makes me sound 100 times better. Too bad it doesnt work that well on a bassguitar....

Foot rocks forward...click....thats about it.
When i turn the unit off, if i leave the toe all the way down it wont turn back on again until i pull the pedal back a little bit and forward again...so ive just had to remember to give the thing a little pull towards the heel when i step it off.

Sound Quality : 9
my setup: 98' PRS Ce-22 -- Crybaby -- DoD Flanger -- DoD Phaser -- Boss RV-3 -- Marshall G100RCD -- 2x10" Celesion Vintage 10. I use amp distortion and reverb as well. When I have my gain cranked on channel 2 this thing screams. It add a really raw feedbacky feel that ive come to love. When im running a very clean channel it doesnt have enough presence in the signal but I just stick a bit of reverb on it and it thickens up.

Reliability : 9
The only thing i dont like (it doesnt bother me enough to call it a "problem") is that sometimes when i click the unit on or off the signal can cut for a second if i leave the pedal all the way on the toe. I'm sure if i took it in to get cleaned out it would fix the problem but thus far i havent bothered.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never talked to them. I'm sure they're very nice people

Overall Rating : 9
I play a fair load of everything with exception to the material put out by individuals who claim to be "artists" or "performers" as opposed to real musicians. This unit does have many options (it doesnt have really any options...) and cant be made to make every kind of sound you can get out of newer digital units, but it does add a beautiful analog aspect to your rig. Either way, I believe that a guitarist doesnt need a completely different sounding effect to make something different, your playing should be the source of unique...ness(?)

yep, to master a wah youve gotta listen to Yngwie Malmsteen!

Sound Quality : 10
i use a malmsteen strat, marshall 900 50 w heads, i run this with a few other boss pedals and it seems to add the smallest bit of vintage bass sound when bypassed, i just love the vintage sound this thing gived off!
vox wahs are now out of production but that was the only other competition as far as im concerned, you just cant go past this baby!
its also adjustable too, you can adjust the pot or the footswitch

Reliability : 10
you can depend on it

This pedal totally rocks. The manual explains everything in like 3 sentences. But ya know, whats to explain. If u cant work this wah then somethings seriously wrong.

Sound Quality : 9
First of all. Make sure the crybaby is first in your chain. If there is anything before it ull notice a volume drop when u rock back. No its not Noisy. Maybe the ppl who says its noisy should get the rest of their equipment checked. I use this to achieve my style of playing (think slash). It works nearly perfect. oh yea I run t his 10 ft cable from guitar to wah, 10 ft from wah to distorition (boss ds1), and 10 ft from distortion to amp. Thats 30 feet of cables and no tonal or signal loss so dont be worried about that.

Reliability : 10
Its not built like a "tank" but it is quite sturdy feeling. It has a much more professional feel than my other wah did. This pedal wont let you down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 10
Overall this pedal totally rocks. If u play hard rock and metal and want something that will absolutely scream for your solos then go out right now and get this pedal

It is really easy to use, but to put it on/off it is really hard!
Believe me, you have to concentrate all your weight on the top of the wah and then press, that's the only way to make the switch work! Don't even thing on making it work while you're not standing. And the first time you have to put it on/off it's not a good sensation to press with all your force on your new wah, you may feel like braking it.

There's a nice manual explaining how to setup your wah.

Sound Quality : 9
This is my setup: GUITAR (Yamaha RGX121s) > WAH > OVERDRIVE (BOSS SD1) > AMP (Fender Frontman 15G).

It gets noisy when i put the gain at 10, but normally, with amp gain at 6/7 and the Overdrive on it, it sounds great! Pressing on the top make a very screaming sound! And it also gives some boost to the gain.

Reliability : 8
Mine it's new, so I cannot know if it is strong as a tank as someone says. The lower part, a light metallic surface, looks a bit weak and too sharp. However, it's hard to hit that because it is at 1 finger from the ground.

Customer Support : 9
Never needed.

Overall Rating : 8
I play a lot of metal (Death, At The Gates...) and this wah is pretty good for it. I've been playing for a year, and if i have it stolen or lost, i may buy the Jimi Hendrix one...I think it has a "bigger" sound. But don't think the GCB95 isn't good! We're talking about professional wah's, and I just love it.

Just step the pedal and play.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup: <Epiphone LP CustomPlus> => <GCB95 Wah> => <Guv'Nor Plus> => <Digitech RP50 (used as noise gate/delays/revrbs/chorus)> => <Amp>

It gives to me an excelent hard rock sound. I tried several configs but this really give me the best results.

The Clean sounds are very good for reggae/funk, and with a powerful distorsion you can reach the 80's metal sounds.
Note: I get no noise with my config.

Reliability : 8
I guess the chassis is like a tank but I'm not so sure about the pot mechanism. I've never problems but I give an 8

I mainly play hard rock stuff like G'n'R, classic rock like LedZep, DeepPurple. I play guitar for 5 years and the gcb95 fits perfectly my guitar sound. If it were stolen or lost I guess I'll buy another one.

People who said it's noisy, of course it's analog! when you use it, you don't hear any bad noise!

First time I heard a bad reliability problem with that ''tank'' yes it's a tank , so poor bad-lucked guy, sorry, maybe the guy who made your pedal had a real bad night...

No need to call them

Overall Rating : 10
First of all, guys who say it ''sucks'' and tell having a serie of 5 different fuzz, chorus and delay pedals, ya right it sucks! this pedal must be played direct right through a good tube -amp to get it at it's best, doesn't mix well with other effects, make a loop for cry baby and keep your other effects in line or at least put crybaby first, for those who say this pedal doesn't much sweep, I tried an original Colorsound, that sweeps too much! and no bass-bottom at all... after all , it's a matter of taste, You like it or not, for me it's the best I love it!

Really easy to use, except for the fact that you must step really hard on the pedal to turn the switch on/off

Sound Quality : 2
Whatever...

this pedal sounds like crap period. I haven't tried many whas but this one sounds dirty, crappy and trebly, even offensive to my ears. The sound you get from this thing comes from too muddy and undefined to a way too-trebly sound... but you never get the mid-sound you expect.

I own a good amount of pedals and I put different chains of them from gig to gig. I use a Boss CS-3, RAT, Big Muff, Nobels ODR-1, Rocktech analog delay, Nobels TR-X... and I have removed the GCB-95 from the chain definately. It sucks tone severely and it sounds really bad with other effects. It also destroys ths sound of my jazzmaster.

Reliability : 9
I guess this is the only good thing about this pedal

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 1
I've been playing guitar for 10 years now, my sound style is similar to bands like radiohead, the cure, jeff buckley, luna... sweet atmospheric crunch and a bit of fuzz... the crybaby never fits this It never sounds sweet, it changes the tone of my jazzmaster/peavey classic 30 so much that it gets really unpleasant.

You'll think I don't like this pedal because whas are not my style, but I also play some hendrix stuff and this pedal still sounds awful. I'm trying to sell it right now, and if it were stolen I guess I wouldn't be very sad about it.

this is terrible. i don't know what the #$(*#&$#(* is wrong with this, it has such a poor sweep range. absolutely no balls on the bass end of it... i just got this thing and it's out of here. i've got other wah pedals and this one just sucks.

it's older, used, but tough. no issues with pot scratchiness typical of crybabys. i still have to give it a 7 due to experience with these products in the past...

i've had all kinds of gear. too much to list. this thing is out the door as quick as possible. trust me, its not a functional issues. just doesn't cut it for my useage...

Easy to use as abc , but the switch is a bit hard to put on (anyway, mine is always on).

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal gives me total expression, either I rock it with clean tone to get funky early 70s tone or get amazing harmonic sustain completely out of space with overdriven tones, the ''sweetspot'' that make it scream is easy to find (in the middle), you control it like if it was a part of yourself. wow!

Reliability : 10
Like others said ''built like a tank'' run your Hummer over it and it will work like before.

When I was looking for a ''wha'' the store had a lot of models, the salesman told me ''there's two good ''wha'' on the market, the crybaby and the vox, I tried both and they sound about the same (maybe a bit more ''mid'' with vox), the vox was $50 more because of chrome on it I guess, I bought the cry-baby and I am very happy and have a lot of fun with since.

Hooking this pedal up is simple - and there are no controls - just the pedal. Only problem is with the built in on/off switch that's activated by pushing the pedal all the way up - it's very stubborn and you got to stomp it like if you're trying to kill it.

Sound Quality : 7
I hate to complain about this pedal's sound quality because overall I like it, but I can assure you that the sound quality is highly dependent on the impedance of your instrument (in fact I have a guitar that it won't even work with), the length of your cords, the number of other pedals you have connected, and what order you have the pedals hooked up. It's real easy to lose the sound quality.

Reliability : 9
As far as physical reliability, it's practically bullet proof. The body is very well designed to stand up to the worst abuse. But as far as how reliable it works - well, like I mentioned above, you never know what's going to happen to the sound when you hook it up to different equipment (in some cases it has little or no wah effect, or it feedsback).

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never contacted Dunlop, so I can't tell you about their customer support.

Overall Rating : 8
Overall it's a pretty reliable pedal with a nice effect. But if I had to replace it, I'd try another model first. But I'm not sure that there is any other wah pedal that's better. I'm considering maybe designing and manufacturing my own pedal, based on this one, but with improvements.

Ease of Use : 7
Easy, if know how to deal with wha wha's... but I hate how the wha-wha pedals (doesn't matter the manufacturer)are switched to on/off. Requires practice to fit the effect in time... The pedal 95Q, don't have a switch, but you can't explore the "bass area", 'cause the pedal turns off; at highest position, the pedal turns on... Maybe Dunlop could make a new model, with the switch placed in a "mini base" attached on one side of the pedal(PLEASE!).

Sound Quality : 10
My setup:

Fender YJM Signature>Samson VHF>Rocktron Banshee>Dunlop Wha>CS3>CE-2>amp

Excellent sound! When used with soft dist/OD, you get classic Jimi's wha. With more powerful ODs, you can catch the Metal sound of 80's and 90's, and for my setup I've got the exact tone of Yngwie's wha sound. Clean settings are quite good for funk/reggae stuff.
Noisy when used with cs3, sure... I'm using a Marshall VS-100 combo and his Od1 and 2.

Reliability : 6
Great classic and metal sound, but attention... IT'S NOT BUILT LIKE A TANK, like many people says!!! Believe me!!!

Problems like the "hot pot" broken or felt into the box(with 3 years of NORMAL use), in/out jacks problems adding a lot of noise, fragile plastic battery place broken, are common in Dunlop models. I don't know about other manufacturers. But I bet that's not SOOO different...

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them...

Overall Rating : 9
Perfect fits in the styles of music I play (Hard Rock, Metal, Neoclassical,Funk and even Jazz). I love the classic and agressive tone. It makes my Strat scream! I hate the switch system (like every wha)

Not a hard unit to use, just a pain in the ass to find the right tone.

Sound Quality : 3
I have head so many people say that this WAH is awesome. Tone wise it sucks for Voodoo Chile, I dont care what you people say. I know tone, and this DEFINATLY isn't it. It is alright for some of Slash's stuff, and if you really push it on the exacting technique (that is necessary for this wah) you can replicate about 20.00% of the sounds on jimi's voodoo chile. truth is it is EXTREMELY nasaly on the mid to top, and the low sweep ranges are too muddy. This happens with my SG,. and my american Strat. Tube amps, to solid state...and oh, if it's in a chain....forget it. make sure to upgrade to a "True bypass" if you can. Look for area 51's or roger mayers replacement boards. they are what i use now, and its ALL 10's Completely across the board. no pun intended....

Reliability : 9
I have never had it break, and it has a great battery life.

Its really hard to say....when i first started, i was amped about it...now, once i have tried, and tried to recreate that bluesy tone that hendrix, and SRV, and KWS has/had i realize that it was IMPOSSIBLE with this unit. A great learning tool to say the best.

It sounds great! I use a marshall valvestate 8080 amp and boss/pearl effects. Distorted it sounds awesome. I only use it distorted, not clean. For example: the song "disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins sounds great when you kick in some wah at a certain point. It gives the sound alot more meaning, somehow

Very simple, just switch it on and start moving forth to get higher tone and back to get low ends. The only thing is that when you switch it on you get the highest tone.

Sound Quality : 7
It takes a while to master and improve your controlling on this pedal. The only thing I complain about is that you get a very noisy high tone when moving all the way forth, and when you go all the way back, you get a very low tone without volumne, I guess it shouldn't affect the volume at all when moving back.
I use a Fender Highway 1, with: Boss Mega Distortion II> BossDD-3> crybaby > Laney HCM120R. I guess I can master on this pedal soon, and get used to this pedal and control those high and low ends that I don't loke.

No knobs, no nothing, just move your foot. Noobs could have trouble with the button however.

Sound Quality : 6
It's really noisy, but that cause it's boosting treble and mids. Here's where the beef is... it sounds very thin... It doesn't sound like some where they take just your whole sound and wah it. With distortion you can only notice different harmonics and even without, there is almost no sweep or anything to it. It works for what I do but whatever...

Reliability : 9
It's always worked fine.

It works out pretty good for most of the riffs I play and I actually have it on most all the time. I just wish it had more of a sweep or a more in your face, low end tone. If it got stolen i'd be mad, but would probably try out another pedal, maybe the hendrix or a vox.

for some reason of weak/thin sounds users, I think prob. the battery runs low or setting problems.

Like other reviews have stated, it depends on how talented you are. Anyone can use a wah pedal, but to get the most out of this effect you need to spend some time with it. Turning it off and on my be the most difficult thing to do.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this after a NexFx Fuzzstortion and i can get that Bulls on Parade type wow-wow-wooka-wow-wow...type sound out of it. The only thing i notice is that when i turn it on it kills the bottom end. like...noticeably kills the bottom end. Playing it clean sounds really good for sleezy porno funk, which for me is AWESOME!!! On leads i would rather have it before the fuzz where it is more subtle. I'm thinking of grabbing a second one for this purpose. Before i began upgrading all my pedals i had it plugged before a GFX-707 and it sounded really amazing. It wah'd more than the current wow sound i get.

Reliability : 10
My crybaby is one of the ones made from 1989-1992. I can tell from the power jack. I got it off ebay 6 months for about 25 bucks (CDN) because the guy thought it was broken. Not the case it just needed a new battery. But it was old enough to have gone through some wear and 2 weeks ago i replaced the Pot. Judging by the componet i took out of the unit and by the soldering it was the original. Now...i know this pedal has been through alot because the botton plate is scratched, dented and the rubber feet are partially worn off. I am the type to take care of my equipment, so i hope i can get 15 years out of my 35 dollar pot. hell...15 years out of a 50 dollar crybay? Sign me up! BTW, i have had no problems with this pedal at all.

second hand...and i can fix it myself.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this pedal!!!

I have a cheap guitar (some mongrel 2nd hand Yamaha) run into NexFx Fuzzstortion ---> Crybaby ---> Yamaha Master Selector A ---> Line 6 Spider 210 (always on Twang) B ---> GFX707 (then back into the Master Selector).

I do (or at least i think so) alot of different things with this pedal. Wah's are very versatile effects. They are just a filter but you can be rythmic, or expressive. I like adding a heavy delay to a clean tone and palm muting a picked riff while sweeping the pedal slowly from back to forward to create a swirly almost keyboard sounding effect. I am a fan of electronica artists and some of their tricks are done with a filter just like a wah!

I've been using wah pedals since 1998 and i still love them! The reason i went with the Crybaby is because 2 of my favorite guitarists (the Edge and Tom Morello) have them, and i wanted to emulate some of their sounds. I just like making crazy sounds and a filter makes that possible. But i use it for more tradition purposes too. I can step on this during any solo and it never fails.

This is a classic effect that got a bad name in the 70's but whether you want be psychodelic or heavy metal this will get the job done. I think blues players would find a use for it too.

Hmmm, I don't play Jimi Hendrix, so it's too trebly for my taste. I use it before a TS9 and a Vox AC30.

Jsut like everyone else...step on it, it turns on, rock it back and forth, get wah sounds. Now, that said...it does take some practice to get GOOD wah sounds out of it.

Sound Quality : 9
I've had a couple of Wah's in my time..a morley fuzz-wah..a no-name generic wah, and now this Crybaby. The Crybaby is much more subtle than the Morley I had...the dynamic sweep is much less pronounced. it has a much more vintage tone to it, whereas the Morley pegged a "Dirt" era Jerry Cantrell sound. I don't have an AC power supply, so I don't know if that will make the effect more pronounced. This is more of an underwater wah pedal.

I've only had this pedal for a few weeks, but I bought it at a pawn shop, and it looks like it's had some use. The pots seem good, no scratchiness, the rocker action is smooth, and no stikiness in the on/off switch. Seems solid enough to me....Backup? really...who can afford to have backup pedals?

Customer Support : 7
Never had to really deal with Dunlop, but they had their manuals online, which is a plus in my book. I'm a pawnshop gear junkie and it's always nice to be able to get the manuals for used equipment.

I play ska/punk/rock-a-billy, some 80's alternative (Pixies, Social Distortion, etc.) My guitar set-up is an Ibanez AG75 into a Daddy-o overdrive to Crybaby to Vox Pathfinder 15R. It's a pretty lo-fi set-up, but it gives me that vintage-y garage sound that I'm after. The Crybaby is just subtle enough to fit into my setup without overpowering anything.

Depends on how musically talented you are, like any other music related equipment, hahaha. But anybody can turn the thing on, rock it up and down and make wah wah sounds.

Sounds good to me, comes awful close to a VOX wah-wah, to my ears anyway. I actually think Jimi Hendrix would approve.

Too easy. Just plug it in. Instrument cable in one , the amp cable in the other. just press down on it for on/off. simple as that

Sound Quality : 8
I use this in front of a boss ds-1 distortion, a boss bf-2 flanger, and an mxr phase 90. The Crybaby works excellent in conjunction with these effects. It gives you that wail that can be heard in songs from various artists. I use it through a Dl-20 20 watt Mega amp. The sound quality is excellent. If you turn the volume up on your amp with the crybaby in the down position (down relative to where the crybaby nameplate is) you may have a little buzz. but that is it. If you are looking for a fatter wah sound that gives you a "wow" sound instead of a "wah" sound you might be better off with a Vox wah. But either is great and I hear that you can alter the Crybaby wah and make it so the sound is different, but I don't know how to do that.

Reliability : 10
Yes. But if I were to use it for a gig, I would purchase a newer model of the crybaby. the newer crybaby wahs have an adapter plug-in. I bought a used 70's model of the crybaby and I have to use a 9 volt battery. But I still have battery life after about a whole year of using the crybaby off and on.

Its a wah-wah pedal people. It cant be that hard. The way u have to press on the toe to get it to switch on/off is just a matter of working it in and getting used to it. If you press hard on the front atleast you will know if its on or off.

Mine is a little bit older but that just made to sound quality more vintage and nicer. I can get the amazing hendrix sound.I play a lot of Stevie Ray too and all u need is to use the neck pickup and a tubescreamer with the wah and your on your way. The pedal has the hendrix sound in it. Its better than i even thought it would be. MY set up for now is: Cort Mirage 500>crybaby gcb-95>danelectro flanger>ts7 tubescreamer(for lead boost)>fender deluxe 90(use amp channel drive for normal distortion)

Even though im only 14 i've been playing for 5 years and play with top notch local players that give me advice so im pretty wise with this stuff. This is a great pedal. Dont go buying morleys, there is no wah sound in them and the way the rock back and forth is bad, it moves too easliy. If your playing stevie ray, clapton, or hendrix use a dunlop. Try the older ones if u can find one. They are the best.

good really good. I play old 70's, 80's heavy metal/rock and this thing just sings for solos or funk rythm parts. I play hendrix and this thing is great. You kinda have to use it after your dist or the range is kind of shallow but after dist this sucker gives sweeping highs and lows.
The only problem is if the battery is low the pedal becomes weaker and weaker and its weak for a long time, so you dont really notice but it gradually starts to sound really bad, thank god for adapters.

I gave this peddle an 8 for ease of use as it has one off on switch and the peddle. I did not give it a 10 because i feel it is not as easy to use as some morley switchless peddles. There is a basic set up guide included but is not really needed.

Sound Quality : 8
I use an LP > ts7(Overdrive) > Crybaby wah > MT2(distortion)> 50 watt soid state combo.

The wah sounds great. It copes well with everything from clean to hammett style wah quite simply. I liked the sweep on this a lot. I play slightly more metal hendrix covers and metallica(nothing off st anger) and the only fault i find is the slight decrease in volume. I have solved this by including the ts7 as a boost when im using the pedal to play lead. I have given this an eight but it was a hard thing to rate as it comes down to a matter of taste.

Reliability : 8
Very sturdy unit but for gigging i would check the pot has no signs of ware and also make sure that you are used to the switch as especially when new it has a tendancy to be a little tough.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
For the metal and rock style i mostly play it is a very usable pedal but i find it comes into a league of its own when playing stuff like gnr. Long slash style bends are dealt with easily and boosted by the great mid this pedal posses. For the price there is no competition and it is much better than vox wahs and morley wahs that cost #100+. The best way to decide if this pedal is right for you is to go to your local dealer and have a go.

Quite easy actually! You stomp on the Wah and you use the pedal back and forth for that classic sound!

Sound Quality : 10
Mine was an old version of the GCB-95 (bought 5 years ago)! So, of course, the pot was dead one year after and the sound wasn't really good... So, this year (yeah I know, I'm not really fast), I decided to change it radically...

I put the new Fasel inductor (still from Dunlop), switch a couple of resistors here and there, I also put a new Fulltone long life pot and finally, the wah is now true bypass... I also removed the input buffer... A lot of things but it now sounds a lot more better and natural than the previous version of it!

So, the sound is a lot more rounder and warmer, but the best thing is that it's a lot more clear! The notes get through better... And you don't have that harshness found in the old version...

I took a chance with the new Fasel Inductor since it is new (a couple of weeks old) and I wasn't sure between this one and the Fulltone one... The latter being more expensive... I cannot make any statement about Fulltone, but the "new" Red Fasel from Dunlop sounds good... There is also a Yellow one who is supposed to be a little more "vintage" about the sound..

Reliability : 9
I think that with the new pot and the Carling DPDT, it's much more reliable... But outside of the old pot, the Dunlop case and everything were quite reliable... I never had a problem with it...

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never spoke with them...

Overall Rating : 9
I use it with a strat and Fender amp and a couple of effects...

Very nice with the mods on it... Far more better and probably more reliable in the long run than the old version...

Is it easy to use? Let me put it this way: Is Avril Lavigne a crappy manufactured pop idol who has been handed a guitar?(The answer to my debatable sarcasm is a big, screaming YES!)
Couldn't be easier if they tried! Step on the switch on the toe to engage, step back on it to bypass.

Sound Quality : 8
My setup isn't really that complex:
Ibanez SA160>Boss Ds-1 distorion>GCB-95 Crybaby>Boss BF-3 flanger>Marshall VS2000 AVT 20.
This thing sounds kick ass! Using a gentle sweep on the flanger and the neck single coil on the Ibanez, I can get a really cool funky kinda "chicka chicka" type sound going. Crank the distorion and using the bridge humbucker, the shit hits the fan. The pedal has that Steve Vai high frequency we've all come to love, or the classic hendrix "voodoo chile" style ballsy grunt. There is a little hum on the single coils, but that comes with the territory really. These things happen; anyone who moans about pedals being noisy is a fool! All analog pedals create at least some noise, so stop bitching about your equipment being the problem. If you can't make it sound the way you want, it's your fault, not the pedal's.

Reliability : 10
I'd gig with this in a heartbeat. The top is made of cast iron if I'm not mistaken, so it sholud last the distance. The guy I bought had had it for ages before I took it off his hands and said it never acted up.I believe him too! It's built like a Shermen tank for fuck sake!

Ease of Use : 8
You step on it and it ativates, then you use the pedal to make a wah sound. There's not much to this pedal, however, you have to step on it quite hard to activate it, making sitting down and playing rather difficult (but not impossible)... So is why I'm giving it an 8.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Yamaha guitar (with and active pickup system) into this wah, then a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, then a Boss GE-7 Equalizor, and I love the sound. Some other reviews say that this is kind of a noisy pedal, but I find it quiets my whole effects set up (not that there's much there right now). Near the high end there's a bit of noise I've noticed, but you can't hear it unless you stop playing and push the pedal all the way down, so it doesn't bother me when I play. The set-up I've got now allows me to have a Metallica-ish style distortion, so when I was looking for a Wah pedal, I was looking for a Kirk Hammet lead sound, and when I first tried this out, I had immediately found what I was looking for. I love this pedal, it give's a great sound, and I don't find it's too noisy. If you want a cool wah pedal, buy this one!

Reliability : 10
I was amazed at how small it actually was when I received it in the mail; especially since the package was a little on the heavier side of things. Not that it's a load to lug around with you, but you can feel the weight. It's solid metal! I don't think it can be destroyed by any conventional means.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Though I can't really say if you wanna play Hendrix-like stuff then this is the pedal for you, but I can say that this pedal is great for metal. It gives a great sound, not too much bass yet, not too much trebel as to make you ears hurt on high volumes. It's a great pedal, and can take one helluva beating. I've owned a few auto-wah's in the past, but this wah kicks all their asses. I reccomend buying it.

I get exactly what I want from this. Though not as radical as their Q models, still very effective. It's a bit hard to turn on at first, but easy once you use it a few times.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this on both my bass and guitar rigs. Because I wanted a better wah sound than my multiFX could give me, this entered the picture. It is noisy when it's on, but that adds to the vibe when I use it. At higher gain modes (e.g., metal), the wah sound is a bit less pronounced, but still usable, and makes leads sound and feel SEXY and NASTY! (Especially when used as a notch filter.)

No problem getting the classic clean and overdrive stuff with this. I hook the wah before the overdrive that I use as a boost. Here are some setups I use:

Blues/Rock:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > (optional) Ibanez DS7 Distortion > guitar amp input of Fender Deluxe 85 > DOD GS30 in FX loop

Metal:
guitar > Dunlop wah > Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer > either a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone, or a Hyper Metal HM-3 > guitar amp input > DOD GS30 in FX loop

Bass:
bass > Dunlop wah > (optional) TS7 > (optional) HM-3 > DigiTech BP200 (used for amp modeling, FX and volume control) > Low Gain input on Peavey TNT 115

The wah interacts well with most of the GS30's effects, except for maybe the ring modulator and the pixellator. The extra bit of bass I get from using the BP200's amp models improves the wah's sound.

Reliability : 9
Very dependable! This thing's built out of cast iron (I think). Should last me until I'm in the rocking chair, perhaps beyond, if maintained and used well.

As soon as I got used to the switch, all was cool. Helps me make some sexy music. I think the wah's the sexiest effect ever made, man. Just listen to all the classic Hendrix/disco/blues/raunchy rock tunes that have good wah stuff with your significant other with the lights down, and you'll feel it, baby!

For anybody looking into the original Wah sound, this is the pedal.
It is noisy and not very easy to use, though.

kay, my setup is a dillion dse-533 deluxe into led modded ds1->CRYBABY->dano chorus->dano trem->holy grail reverb->arion stage tuner->fender silverface champ->sm57->presonus blue tube->p.a. or other reinforcement. if youre wondering why i have it after the ds1, its because it sounds awful with distortion in any place, so i put it where it looked best on my board, since i cant use it at the same time with anything. alone it is okay for rhythm work, but for soloing the upper midrange is hideous, very warbly, not vocal sounding, just painful really. sounds worse the louder it gets too. has a volume drop to it. it sounds wonderful for rhythm work, but anything else...no.

Reliability : 10
ive had it for two years, and the only problem ive had is having to reattach the felt piece that presses the switch. i had to clean out the pot on it also. no big problems despite many attempts to blow it up. solid!

i got this when i first switched from folk to electric music. i figured, i want a wah, ill get a crybaby. like nearly every electric player, i am a huge hendrix fan. the thing is, i can cop some jimi, but i am NOT him, nor am i clapton, or any of those other guys. how do they make these sound good? by being totally assured and kick ass players. im just not that good yet, nor i suspect are most who buy this pedal, judging from reviews as well as seeing folks use them. im going to look into either selling this and getting a budda wah or a 535q maybe, or possibly making a project out of this one with new parts. im not horrified by it, it does okay for rhythm, but is too bitchy about its treble range for my playing. i got it because i didnt know any better basically. also, because i didnt realize that VOX actually made hendrix's pedal. oh well, live and learn.

stolen or lost? i dont think id lose it. stolen, im insured, bring it on.

bottom line, try it, try others, read reviews, know what youre getting.

If you cant use this, please don't attempt eating with a fork. After five minutes, I was happier with my guitar playing than I had been in years.

I, like most, got this pedal specifically to get that famous Hendrix (Guitar God #1) sound...and I got just what I wanted. It sounds great...period.

Only complaint is if I ever dropped it, it'd probably break my foot. Its definitely a tank...Cast Iron...what more do you have to say?

HOpe I never find out.

I've been playing sometimes professionally, but mostly for my own enjoyment since 1981 and I never bought a wah. I play a little of everything from Classic Rock to funk to Metal to classical. I Walked into my local Guitar Center last week and asked for one, and lucky day, someone had just returned one. It was "new", and only cost me $50, which is apparently a steal. Fact is, I, like most, got this pedal specifically to get that famous Hendrix (Guitar God #1) sound...and I got just what I wanted. This is also perfect for SRV, Eric Johnson, some Vai, anything from the 60's 70's. Nothing quite like that chuka-chuka funky shuffle shit...love it! Voodoo Chile BEGS to be played on this pedal. It sounds great...period. Unlike some above, I had no problem recreating the sounds I wanted, in fact, I was astounded at how easy it was to use. I'm more excited to play guitar than I have been in ten years...my only gripe is with myself...why didn't I get one of these earlier? DOH!

I've been playing Crybaby's for years and have found them to be a great means of expression. Having said that, getting a great sound isn't easy at first. It's taken me awhile to find those sweet pots and to make the connection between the sound in my head and those spots so that it becomes intuitive. Easy no. Worth the work Yes.

Sound Quality : 6
I play an Gibson SG Standardard-->Compressor-->Dist--> Super Reverb.
Be advised that, though I love this pedal, I wish it didn't suck tone as much as it does. So given that, and the fact that it is very noisy when coupled with distortion, but that that chuka-chuka sound still gives me chills, I give it a 6 for sound quality.

Reliability : 8
Built to take punishment. The only thing that needs servicing, and which I take care of every six months or so is the switch. But that's common knowledge with these pedals.

Haven't had the need.

Over the years I have owned several wah's - Dunlops, Fulltone Clyde's, Morley's, Boss V-Wah, etc... I have to say, for me anyway, the only pedal that creates that vintage 70's Waka-Waka scratch sound is the Dunlop. For Funk players looking for that vintage "Scratch" sound this is the pedal. For gain mongers I would suggest the Clyde or a Morley. Again, this is just my opinion.

WIth an Ibanez Gax370 and a 10 yr old amp, its good.....but there is less and more of everytthing, too much trebble tooo little bass wah, thats kinda annoying and the middle is hard to find......it kinda fuzzes on the trebble, and it kills a little volume

uhh it has no controls haha how can it be any easier?

Sound Quality : 5
for a 200 buck wah it's pretty good. great to start off with, coz there are no controls, you just stamp on it and it goes wah. but once you start getting a little better at guitar and you start noticing the little things, you begin to realise what the true capabilities of this wah are. i've had this wah pedal since i started playing about 3 years ago, and i've become a real fan of the dunlop wah sound. i don't really like the sound of vox or budda wahs, but i guess that using this wah for so long has been a major factor in that

the things i don't like much about this wah are that it has a lot of volume loss when it's in the heal down position, and way too much volume when it's in the toe down position. i've been told that it could be the order of the chain, but having this before distortion sucks the wah sound out of it. it sounds shitloads better after distortion effects. also, using heaps of gain can limit the wah sound, but if you need to use that much gain you obviously don't have a very sensitive ear for sound haha

the other thing is that the wah sound is very dramatic. almost ear piercing if you use it to forcefully in the toe down position. i'm going to have to try the 535Q, and tweak all the knobs

i'm using this pedal after a Zoom Tri-metal, and before a boss noise suppressor, and into a Marshall JCM900 Master Volume. my sound is almost there....would be better if i had enough money to buy a mesa markIV and some emg's, but what i've got now is awesome on it's own so i'll have to deal with it :(

Reliability : 10
this thing is a brick haha. you can't break it. well you could...but what kind of idiot buys something for 200 bucks and then breaks it intentionally? as far as effects go, this is up with the best of them as far as reliability goes

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
if only this thing had some controls for me to play with! but as a wah to start your guitaring with, this thing is the greatest. it's cheap, and it sounds pretty good, and you can't break it, nothing else you can ask for in a $200 wah pedal. but my beginnings as a guitarist are over, and it's time to move up the ladder

Well, my setup is a Washburn WR150 (guitar) and a Marshall Valvestae 40V (amp). It sounds like classic hendrix and clapton when i dont uuse any distortion and when I use me Boss HM-2 heavy meatal pedal, It's nuts! The sound is great and u better beleive it sounds like Kirk Hammett or Zakk Wylde (ZW is better!,lol)

i just bought mine but it seems to be built pretty good. It can support my weight, so it has to be kinda strong.

Simplest pedal i have ever seen, click the toe to turn it on, heel back for bass, toe forward for treble, click the toe to turn it off again. Simple. Although there isn't really a need for a manual, the one it comes with explains it's simplicity. So easy to use.

Sound Quality : 8
My current setup is: Samick Fat Strat copy > GCB-95 > Boss DS-1 > Peavey solid state. (I know that's a pretty weak set-up, but I'm working on it). I originally had the wah after distortion, but after some experimenting, i have discovered it is more effective first. It has a nice sound, but it's a bit noisy. When the pedal is off there's a bit of noise but not too much.

Reliability : 10
This thing is built to last. I would gig with this pedal without a backup any time. My friend has the same one and it's survived trips down the stairs into his cement floor in his basement, and there isn't as much as a scratch. My experiences are much the same.

I play mostly alt. rock and a bit of grundge, and this pedal fits pretty well. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years, and just now I'm really starting to get a good set-up going and I guarentee this will be the main wah pedal. I love the simplicity of this pedal and the fact it will probably last as long as any boss pedal out there. If this pedal were lost or stolen, I would probably replace it. I don't care what everyone else says, this pedal rocks!

It's a wah, that's how easy it is to use. You push your foot back and forth to change the treble and the wah effect. To turn onn and off you simply apply an increased amount of pressure to the front.

Sound Quality : 2
In short, this wah just sound. Like many other people, i bought it simply because of the initial feel of using a wah pedal to add theat classic sound. However, when I finally got this home i realised it wasn't such a great choice. The main problem with this pedal is that the effect is incredibly uneven. What I mean, is that the sound is extremely slow in changing up untill your foot reaches the middle where the trebble is suddenly increased giving you a sudden changing sound rather than a smooth wah. The second thing which is wrong with this pedal is the amount which it changes the tone on my amp. As there is no bypass in the off position, even when you're not using the pedal, you find that your distortion is cut and your tone weakened noticably. And thirdly,. just to finish it off, it'ss one hell of a noisy pedal

Reliability : 9
Ok, I'll give it that, i's pretty danm reliable.

Without any distortion at all, this pedal aint all that bad if you can excuse the noise. However, add even a slight bit of distortion and it just sounds awful. If you want a wah pedal and this is the only one you can afford, then just keep saving for that Morley or Vox. And don't be fooled by the name. It may be the original but it definitely aint the best.

I think we all know how to use one of this, don't we?
Now, getting a decent lead solo out of this thing is just impossible.
Good for stupid and boring chuka- chaka rythm.
I don't know about the manual because it's not mine, a friend of mine lets me use it, and I've played it for three or four months.

Sound Quality : 3
This thing blows, no joke. SO hard to make leads stand out with the wah on. No expression at all, the only time you can actually hear say it wah is when sweeping all the way from bass to treble so there's no way to articulate a damn solo. It pisses me off.
Maybe I am using the wrong kind of amp (solid state amp) and this sounds awesome through a Marshall or a Mesa, but If you are playing a solid state amp this wah pedal is gonna suck.
It goes from bass to treble and there's nothing in between, I think that's the main problem with it, no midrange whatsoever. Also the transition from bass to treble is not smooth at all. I just can't make it scream, not even when I turn the mids all the way up on my amp, and I'm playing DiMarzio humbuckers.
NO. I cannot make the sound of my favorite artists (Satriani, Vai, Hammett) because their wah wah pedals don't suck and this one does.
If you play lead and want to make yor solos scream and cut through the mix, then forget this one.

Reliability : No Opinion
I don't know but I couldn't care less, actually I don't give a shit if it's reliable. Yeah, it's that bad.
Are you crazy? I would never take this to a gig unless I started playing that worthless reagge shit and I think that's never gonna happen.
