This device is very easy to use. Essentially a quiet power distribution block, its outlets consist of seven 9 volt 1/8" mono phone jacks and three 18 volt barrel-type jacks (neg. pin, pos. barrel, 2.1 mm.). 18 volt jacks are used to power some of Dunlop's dual battery wah pedals (e.g.: 535Q), and the 9 volt outs can power practically everything else. Included with mine were 10 power supply cords to attach to my pedals. The 9v cords have barrels on the pedal end, and 1/8" plugs on the JB-10 end. The 18v cords have barrels on both. All jacks, including the wall wart jack, are p.c. board, not chassis, mounted. This is good for eliminating ground loop hums, but not as sturdy.

I have used this with my bass set up (Rick 4003 into a Dunlop 105Q wah, GCB-80 volume, M-88 Octave, and M-80 D.I. into an Ampeg SVT-CL), and with my guitar set up (Gibson LP Custom into a Dunlop GCB-95 wah, GCB-80 volume, M-102 Comp., M-103 Blue Box, '80's Analog Delay (a.c. powered), and Boss CH-1 Chorus into an Ampeg VL-1002), and I have experienced no noise that I could attribute to the JB-10. The others must have either gotten faulty units or were using them improperly.

Dunlop. Come on... If you can buy more dependable stuff made in the U.S.A., and at their prices, please let me know. Hey I like E.H., Fulltone, Prescription, Analogman, Blackstone, etc. too, but I'm not a millionaire--yet. I don't like the board-mounted jacks, but what are you gonna do? If mounted on a pedal board, you shouldn't have any problems, but if you're free ballin', you might step on a plug and crack some solderings inside. If some gizmo of yours is ESSENTIAL, never gig without a back-up.

How else could I rate this but with a "10"? I was lucky enough to get one that works, I reckon. I became a fan of Dunlop and, particularly, MXR stuff long ago. Very tough. The only problem I've had is with my early '80's analog delay, and that was just a defective chip which is, unfortunately, no longer available. I play bass in a pop/pseudo-folk band and guitar in a psychedelic/emo/prog band, and a little of either in both. I'll be getting a second one of these so I can install them permanently on separate pedal boards for guitar and bass. I can't see me needing more than seven effects per instrument, so the JB-10 should suffice. One more note: I think this thing has been discontinued and replaced by the DCB-10 (The "DC Brick")

Returned it through the vendor (Mars Music). They gave me no problems. Too bad they don't sell the replacement unit I will buy (Voodo Lab Pedal Power)

For god's sake, I'd think you could get a reasonably useful 9v power supply for $120. It's just a DC power supply, not rocket science. I intended to buy the Voodoo Lab power unit, but bought this one instead because I wanted one soon, and I couldn't find a local Voodoo Labs dealer.
The Dunlop Juice Box is an all around piece of cr*p. First off, it doesn't even come with 9v battery type adapters. The one other Dunlop item I own is an old Cry Baby with no power supply input. I have to hook up directly to the battery connector. You'd think they'd ship the thing with some of those cables. But even if I had, it probably wouldn't have done me any good. I tried this thing on a few different pedals (Boss, Ibanez, & DOD) and it flat out didn't work. I tested the supposed regulated 9v DC outputs and found that they were all well over 12v! The jacks should be labeled "9v DC, +/- 33%". I mean really, how lame is their QA?
Unfortunately AFTER buying this pedal I checked the reviews and saw all the complaints. I was listening for noise problem. I had non of those. I had non of anything. Avoid this piece of equipment. Judging from the reviews here it seems pretty unlikely that you'll end up with one that works reasonably well. I suggest going with the Voodoo Lab power supply.

NOISY!!! They say the power supply is regulated but if it is not very well. If you use a pretty healthy stage volume the noise is terrible. I switched the plug in walllwart that was supplied with the unit with onw a had laying around and that cured the noise problem. I had them replace the unit but the new power supply was noisy also so I sent it back. You shouldn't have to provide your own power supply because DUNLOP won't include a decent one with the unit.

If it had a different power supply with it it would most likely be fine.

Not very good they take forever to get back to you. If they could have given me a decent wallwart as replacement I would have kept the unit. I ended up building my own for a lot less money. NO Noise

Just plug in however many effects you have and go. There is somewhat of a manual, and it tells you what you need to know.
It comes with 10 connector cables, seven 9 volts and three 18 volts. Also uses an included wall wart to power up the JB-10, so you're not completely rid of these vile things, but it sure cut down the number I use (I now have a bag filled with six wall wart adapters, with duct tape still on the cords).

This is a power supply, so by sound quality I guess this means how much it leaves your sound alone. It adds a very slight bit of noise, it seems. I'm picky, and I hate noisiness, but the noise here is not anything to cry about. It's not the typical guitar hum sound. It sounds kind of like a distant electronic motor humming. It's nothing you'd notice unless you were looking for it.
It powers most standard effect pedals (polarity negative center). I'm using it to power a Snarling Dogs Mold Spore Wah, a Korg Toneworks 411fx, Danelectro Tuna Melt tremolo and Cool Cat chorus, Boss PS-3, and Korg Toneworks 301dl. Ironically, it won't power my Dunlop-made MXR Blue Box, because the polarity and plug type are wrong. I don't really care, though. I have a power strip on my pedal board where the JB-10's adapter goes, and the Blue Box adapter, and the plug for my (non-wall wart) Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress. I also have a Big Muff, by the way, but it only runs on batteries.
This is a great improvement upon my pedal board. It looks much neater and is much less prone to accidental adapter disconnection. I used to use two large power strips, both filled with wall warts. It was ulgy, but it worked. My pedal board (the board part being a cabinet door painted black) is way cool now.

Definitely worth it. It's a good, cheap alternative to the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ($170 musician's friend!!!), plus it has more plugs for more effects. Also good for you Cool Cat owners because it has three 18 volt outs. (One 18 volt and two extra 9s would have been better. What else besides the Cool Cat uses 18 volts?)
It's not perfect, but I'd say it's a great deal. It's also surprisingly small. It's the same size as an MXR Phase 90 or Blue Box (tiny). I even like the horrible 70's orange color, it compliments the obnoxiousness of my Mold Spore. Reminds me of an orange cream sicle, cicle, okay, I can't spell.

This is very easy to use as long as your pedals have the same type of barrel connector. You just plug it in and go.

I have detected no noise at all from this unit. The reason I give it a 6 is because it will effect the sound quality on some pedals. On the ones that it works properly it is perfect. But I am having a problem with my Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus pedal. It makes a chirping sound almost like a bird when it is powered by the Juice Box. I called Voodoo Lab and they said the only time that pedal makes that sound is when it has a weak battery. I put in a fresh battery and it worked fine, then I powered it up again with the Juice box and the chirping began again.

It seems well made, I would gig without a backup. One thing to watch out for is the power connector that plugs into the unit, it can come out easily. I was playing recently and on the last song of the set, with about 30 seconds left of the song my amp goes silent. I could not figure out what what going on and then I noticed the connection had come undone. I had stepped on the cord and it unplugged. I probably will put some tape on it next time to be safe.

I would give it a 10 if it powered my Chorus pedal, after all I bought this so I could power all my effects, not just some of them. I wanted to be rid of batteries, but unless they come up with a solution I guess I'm stuck. If it were lost or stolen I would probably try out the Voodoo Lab power supply even though it cost quite a bit more.

Really easy to use if the effects you have are compatable. A cuple of the effects I have would work because of different types of plugs but I knew how to modiffy it so it would work. If you don't know much about electronics you might have some trouble getting it to work for all you effects. That is why I am giving it a 7.

I use this pedal to supply power to all my pedals in my pedal board I built out of tred plat aluminum. (48*15*5 + Lid)
535Q Crybaby>Whammy(reissue)>Marshall Jackhammer>ProCo TurboRat>Morley Volume>Boss Flanger>Boss DD-5
All are conected in my effects loop on my Peavey Speacial 212. I then use my cab I built with 2*12 1*15. The guitars I use are a Fender phat strat, a old used Ibanez RG, and a Guitar I built myself with EMGs (81 & 85)
It gives me consistant power to my pedals every gig.

Every thing works smooth if you don't need to modify. If you do it still works smooth. If you don't know how to modify it(might have to by new plugs for the cords) I would leave it alone and use it for the effects it works for.(most) I knew how to do it because I am very into electronics(I build some of my effect) guitar building, and just about anything that I can attempt to do.(pedal boards, amp cabs, racks)

The JB-10 has (7) connections for 9 volt effects and (3) connections for 18 volt effects. Pretty simple to use . Just plug your effects into the JB-10 and plug the JB-10 into the wall.

This thing is built like a battleship. It is a heavy gauge steel enclosure with thick bright orange paint. The only reason that I do not give it a 10 is because the 18 volt connectors are plastic and might break if stepped on wrong.

I recently built my own pedal board using a polycarbonate cutting board from Target and a roll of self-adhesive industrial Velcro. I am using the JB-10 as the power supply. I chose this unit because it was small than most of the power units that I looked at and it looked like it could take some punishment.
The JB-10 works great but I have a couple of gripes with it:
1) It only comes with barrel style connectors. So if you have an effect with phono jack style power connectors you are stuck either using a different power source or fabricating your own cables like I did. This is particularly annoying because even some Dunlop effects do not use a barrel style connector (such as my wah pedal). It would have been nice if the JB-10 came with a couple of each style of connector or at least some sort of converter.
2) The polarity of all of the cables is set to positive(+) barrel and negative(-) center from the factory and this is not user changeable. So if you need to reverse the polarity, you are into modifying a cable again.
3) There is a power indicator on top of the JB-10 so you can see when it has power but it does not have a power switch. So, if you want to power down, you have to unplug the wall wart.
If this unit were stolen, I would buy another, but I would grumble at it the entire time I was modifying it's cables, just like I did with this one.
C'mon Dunlop. At least give us the proper connectors so that we can connect YOUR effects to the JB-10.
