Ease of Use : 8
Pretty easy to use, just step on it and it starts to cry. The only bad thing about it is the wah is a little tough to switch on and off as the button is hard to press down, especially when sitting down.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a Left handed american standard strat through a small marshall amp. I was looking for a wah that could get that Voodoo Chile/White Room sound. This wah doesn't get it but it comes pretty damn close. Anyone who complains about this sound is looking for a wah that is EXACTLY like Hendrix. Well your not gonna get it and you may never get it. Hendrix's sound will never be duplicated so you might as well stop bitching and get you own style. After a couple of tries i found that i could get any sound i wanted out of it and the only problem i had was when you take you foot of the pedal the voume allmost dissapears.

Reliability : 10
Like the others said, built like a tank.

Customer Support : 10
Bought it from Guitar Center with a 30 day money back guarantee and it hasn't failed me yet.

I bought two of these pedals; one for my son and one for myself. Should be easy to use - step, click, wah - but I have to stand hard on mine to turn it on and off; sometimes it doesn't turn off and I play with a tinny treble sound until I hit it again. Also, the input and output jacks are not clearly labeled - only indication is small raised lettering in black on the black rubber cover of the footpedal - easy to make a mistake when patching up quickly or in a dark place - will not work with input and output swapped.

Sound Quality : 5
The middle of the stroke is a pretty good wah sound, but tilted all the way back, they are very muffled and nothing but midrange - almost inaudible when playing with a group. The first 50% of the stroke is absolutely useless - the only good sounds come from 50% on down to fully depressed. It also does not impart a good wah sound when other effects, esp. distortion, are in service. I have tried it in every position on my pedal effects chain.

Reliability : 2
My son's pedal crapped out and would not work with a power supply. Guitar Center lost it while sending it back to Dunlop, so they assled around and gave us a new one. It too after a month is popping and cracking when used with power supply. My pedal worked decently in occasional service for a year but now robs volume from my sound when in service. As mentioned earlier, the switch takes a major effort to engage and disengage and will surely fail under such duress. The input and output jacks may be made of cheap metal but look and feel like plastic on the outside.

Customer Support : 5
Dunlop did cough up a new one, but it was two weeks before the original one year warranty expired, so the warranty on the new replacement pedal was *two weeks* - it started popping and cracking with a power supply about one month after we got it, so we are s*** out of luck - wanna buy one cheap??

Overall Rating : 4
Wah is the coolest single effect on the planet. It makes my average skills and chording abilities sound professional, and is great for onstage showmanship. These wahs were supposed to be the Hendrix sound, but I don't think so....I had an old Nu-Wah-Fuzz in the late sixties and memory says it sounded better than this...no matter how good a pedal sounds, when it fails there is no sound. I intend to ask around and listen to some guys playing out. One thing is for sure: you cannot tell about the sound of a pedal using a strange amp in a music store with other guys around trying to hit their hottest licks. The ONLY way to tell about a piece of equipment *IMHO* is to put it to the test around your bandmates and at stage volume - if it can't perform there, and you are a gigging/rehearsing player, then no matter how it sounds in your bedroom, you will not be satisfied (unless of course you only play in your bedroom, but that's cool too).

Easy to use, works just like any other wah pedal

Sound Quality : 2
I have to agree with the negative review. Maybe the other people have never heard a vox wah-wah (the pedal that jimi hendrx actually used as well as stevie ray vaughn). I have compared them side by side on the same equipment. The Jimi hendrix wah is pretty bad. Shrill is not the word for it when it is pressed all the way down. More like flubby. The vox is so shrill it will give you a head ache. It may be what some are looking for, but not me. Call me a copy-cat but I just wanted a wah that sounded like the traditional wah sound (voodoo chile, Tales of brave Ulyssees by cream, the theme from shaft, etc.) You can't get much wacka-wacka like the beginning of voodoo chile or shaft out of this one. It's kind of dumb that they would put jimi's name on a wah that has a completly different sound than the one jimi used. As for the Marilyn Manson part, I agree. I read an interview with Daisy Berkowitz a few years back, and he said that the wah doesn't sound orthodox. You can re-create "sweet dreams" on this.

Reliability : 10
Tough as a rhino, I had no problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 3
It may be the pedal for some people, but not for me. You just have to remember that this pedal will NOT nail 90% of the wah sounds out there. Other than that, it has a unique sound.

This pedal is very easy to use. You kick on it and it's on, go around with your feed and you got the wah-wah sound, you kick again and it's off. Simple, isn't it?

Sound Quality : 7
I use a fender stratocaster and a Cort super model (wich is very good, Ibanez move over!!. The amps I use are a Marshall JCM 800, with a 2x12'cabinet, and a valvestate V100, with a 4x12"cabinet also a Fender Showman (twin top) with a Marshall 4x10"speaker. I also got a lot of pedals, like a boss CH-1, MT-2, PSM-5, Boston VP-GM, ZOOM 1010, Boss TR-2, Boss OC-2 and a A/B-Y box(Morley) for selecting my amps, and of course my JH-1 wah-wah. In my 19"rack I've got a Rocktron Patchmate, Lexicon MPX-1, Marshall JMP-1, and a Mesa/Boogie 20/20 power amp. So I've got a lot of stuff I can use. The JH-1 Sounds very good, no noise, but, as I read before, to get the real jimi Hendrix sound is difficult. The wah wah sound works and it's deeper than a Morley wah wah, although the vox wah wah isn't bad either. The only thing I think is shit is that you should replace the "potmeter"once in the four year. For the rest it's good.

Reliability : 8
It's metal so it can't be beat up. Never had troubles with it.

Never had any problems with the pedal that I couldn't help myself.

Overall Rating : 8
I play funk, rock, and more of that stuff (NO PUNK!!!) and the wah-wah does what I want.

This is a wah pedal......press down on it to turn it on, again to turn it off. Rock the pedal back and forth, and it produces a wah wah effect. It can't get much simpler than that!

Sound Quality : 9
I use this pedal with a "Fat" Fender Stratocaster (Humbucker in the bridge position) to my Fender amp. I do not use my effects processors with this pedal as the other effects tend to compete with it and wash out the wah effect. Don't listen to the review before this. Maybe he got a defective one (though I have never come across a defective crybaby).

The wah effect of this pedal is huge. Throughout the entire pedal sweep range, the wah effect is evenly changed (I tried a few Morleys, but 70% of the wah effect comes out in the last centimeter or two of the sweep).

This pedal has a VERY well pronounced wah effect. It is, however, sometimes a little "boomy". Its range is a little more vocal the original crybaby, which is why I got it. If the situation calls for a lightly pronounced wah effect, I just stick my patchcord underneath the backside of the pedal (to reduce its range at the bass side), and it takes on a whole new characteristic.

On the treble side, the guitar has a habit of becoming shrill if you're on the bridge pickup with the treble boosted. On the bass side, the guitar can become quite "boomy" if you're on the neck pickup with the bass on your amp boosted too high. But, if you set the EQ just right, it is the sweetest, most vocal wah wah I've ever heard.

Reliability : 9
This thing is built like a tank. It weighs like one, too. I'm not afraid of damaging it. In fact, I'm afraid of it damaging my other effects pedal when they're being carried in the same bag. I have (and will continue to) gig with it. The only trouble I've ever had with it is the battery dying. It is not so obvious at first. For about ten minutes, the signal gets more muddy and distorted by the second. Just be sure to replace the battery before a gig to be safe. Also, something I had to get used to (because my other effects have power supplies) is that the battery is running whenever a patchcord is plugged into the "instrument" jack, so be sure to unplug it when you aren't using it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, but it comes with a one-year waranty.

Overall Rating : 9
This pedal is perfect for playing those good ol' wah solos, but creating your own rythm and solo guitar riffs is where this pedal shines. It is very expressive. It sings when you want it to sing, and it cries when to want it to cry. For writing your own material, this pedal is the best there is (except for maybe the Jimi Hendrix Wah Wah/Fuzz pedal).

Easy to use. Click on for the effect, click off to get rid of it.

No matter what amp/guitar/effect setup I try this pedal sounds terrible. What makes it worse is that It is marketed as a "Jimi Hendrix" pedal. Ha! Not even close. The sound is way to muddy. There are absolutely no highs. Sweeping the pedal makes no difference. It should be called the "Wuh-Wuh" pedal. I do have to say one thing good about it. You can perfectly re-create the Wah sounds off Marilyn Mansons "Smells Like Children"(Think "Sweet Dreams are made of these") Trust me. If you want a pedal that sounds like a wah wah-with highs, mids, lows and a good qwack-go with a Vox reissue.

Reliability : 9
Like a brick wall. I will say that the hinges got squeaky after only a few hours of use.

Never dealt with Dunlop.

It's sad that Dunlop has to sell there product using Hendrix's name. I know I got this pedal because I wanted the Hendrix Voodoo Chile sound. DO NOT BUY THIS PEDAL!!!!!!!

Nice, fat tone. It sounds great live. It's a great pedal with the exception of two things:
1. It really cuts down on your sustain, I have to pick almost constantly.
2. It can be rather difficult to get those great muffled sounds like Hendrix.

Reliability : 10
This thing is built like a friggin' rock. I stood on this thing without doing anything to it and I weigh an easy 200 pounds. It's a Dunlop so it's very reliable.

I play a lot of classic rock and metal and pretty good for getting those sounds out of it. It's perfect for that Alice in Chains sound!
I also play a lot of Metallica but since it screws up the signal I try to avoid doing a lot soloing with it. I probably going to get Dunlop's 535Q Wah eventually but even so I'll hang on to this one for a back up.

Easiest pedal in the world. Click on, click off. Don't try to work on carpets or you might have to stomp it through the floor to get it to turn on and off.

Sound Quality : 8
I've used with everything from Fernandes guitars and DOD amps to PRS guitars and strats in Marshalls. There's no extra noise, it's beautifully clear. I don't like the range...it's not broad enough. There's more at the bottom than the top. When I'm playing with distortion it sounds like it just fades out unless I'm real loud, but then the top range hurts way too much and then when it gets turned off it's also too loud. Effects sound great if you know which direction to set up your effects chain. Distortion box first, if you have it in reverse, or use the distortion from an amp then it sounds terrible; sounds like two settings up-down. And nothing in between. Hendrix of course, slightly. Maybe I need his setup. Definately Led Zep...that's why I bought it in the first place. I went wild with glee when I started riding the mid-ranges and nailing my favorite songs. My distortion I use is a DOD FX-75 I bought for $15 at a garage sale. the perfect distortion for zep.

Reliability : 5
I used to think I could depend on it. I've never heard of anyone else with problems with it, but after recording a funk thing with it (which it's also good for) it just busted. The button stopped working! I tested it and the electricity didn't go through. So, the button is costing me $25 to replace! You can;t find it anywhere but from Dunlop!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never tried. It's being repaired at a shop. I forgot to send in the warrenty card. I'm angry that I bought it for $120 and it went down to $80 a week later. I shoulda bought a 535 Chrome

Overall Rating : 8
I play everything related to rock and blues. This is the most important pedal to anyone in either category. It's a classic! I would buy the 535 if it got stolen or lost. I love it because it is just what's needed to shape playing and give them character. It's in a nice metal box...indestructable. I heard that Vox is better but it's all a matter of opinion, and what you're looking for. It definately helps. Since I've had it at the shop, I'm having crybaby withdrawel whenever I play. It'll become your favorite toy. Ask me. I'll answer.

It's pretty easy to use. Just rock it back and forth. For beginners it may be hard like it was for me but you just gotta practice.

Sound Quality : 10
I played it through either my Guild S-100 or Mexican Fender Strat through a Fender Princeton Chorus 2x10 solid state amp. It isn't noisy, it's just a wah. The sound on this is great. Unlike the (crappy) Crybaby wah from Dunlop, this wah actually lets the tone from your guitar get through instead of washing it out with a cheap wah sound. If you have the money, get this over the Crybaby, but I'd compare it to some of the other top end wah's. I didnt but im more than happy with this one.

Reliability : 10
My Crybaby broke but I haven't had any trouble with this one. I dont have the money for a backup, watcho thinkin foo? :D

Haven't called them.

Overall Rating : 10
I play rock like Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream...blah blah. This is great for 60s/classic rock, not sure what other type of music uses a wah anyway. I've been playin for 4 years and I also own a Sovtek Bigmuff re-issue, did own a Crybaby, did own a Metal Zone. heh. If this was stolen or lost I would definately buy another one. The best thing I like about it is how it doesn't kill your tone and it's awesome sweeping range. It's the best wah i've every played, nothing else to say.
