I wrote a rave review of this pedal the day I bought it. I ended up returning the pedal the other day having ultimately decided that the emulation of the vintage Uni-Vibe sound was almost, but not quite good enough.
I'm saving money for one of the high end boutique pedals (either Fulltone or Sweet Sounds) which will be true by-pass and sound just right.

Easy as can be. I wish there was an option to control the speed pot with an expression pedal, but oh well. That Hendrix/Gilmoure/Trower sound is right there.

I play a Les Paul through a Marshall JTM 60 combo amp. Guitar>volume pedal with tuner out>Dunlop 535Q Wah-wah >Electro-Harmonix Tube Zipper>Dunlop Uni-Vibe Stereo Chorus>Fulltone Ultimate Octave>amp. Amp series effect loop has a Fulltone Fat-Boost in it. Parallel effects loop has a Boss DD-3 and a Boss DD-5 for delay (my Maestro Echoplex broke down and is being repaired)
The Dunlop Uni-Vibe Stereo Chorus sounds great to me. Very easy to get that Hendrix at Woodstock sound. It's authentic, rich and satisfying. I place it after the wah and before my fuzz, like Hendrix did. When it's placed after a distortion unit, I think it sounds crummy with distortion on, but placed before distortion it's excellent. This is a bit counter-intuitive because one usually thinks to put modulation effects after distortion/overdrive units...
I give it a 9 because it doesn't have true bypass switching.

I'm pleased to have picked it up. I was using a phaser to approximate a Uni-Vibe sound, which did an OK job but was never completely satisfying. I'd previously picked up the Boss RT-20 because it sounded fantastic in the store. But with my own gear at home, practices and gigs I found it sounded brittle and clearly digitally sampled at higher volumes, so I sold it. I've test-driven the Fulltone Deja and mini Deja Vibes which sound great and do have true bypass switching, but can't afford what they go for. I've heard the Sweet Sounds Mojo Vibe (also true bypass, and has a jack to plug in an expression pedal for speed control) is the best and may pick one up when I'm a lot richer. This, at one third of the price, without true bypass switching and all, is a great stop-gap measure for now.

It is strange, because the controls are diferents for diferents effects.
You have two outputs, and the mix control works in other way for each output and effect.
In stereo you will get the Hendrix Univibe sound in Little Wing.

Analog sound.
Stereo Univibe sound.
I don't understand the mono univibes.
The univibe must be stereo, like this, because the Univibe consist in chorus-vibrato and a rotary speaker simulator.
Well, rotary mono?
This is the reason for choosing this univibe for the winner.
It sounds amazing, full. The sound of Hendrix in Little Wing, i said it before.

Easy to use. Mix-, speed- and intensity-pots and a footswitch to turn the effect on/off. Dual outputs for stereo (chorus/vibrato) and a LED which blinks at speed rate.

I love my phasers (SmallStone and Phase 90) and expected a somewhat similar sound. I was a little disappointed with the dirty sounds, too thin and brittle. But it sounds absolutely great on the clean channel of my amp (Orange Crush 30R). Especially with my Stratocaster and Squier 51 (in single coil mode). Beautiful clean and spacey sounding chords.
I don't know if it comes close to a real leslie, but what do I care? This is just a great sounding chorus!
I just love the clean sounds of my Strat, Uni-Vibe and Orange (with reverb).

For dirty sounds I still prefer a phaser. I like 80s rock and play mostly with distortion and a phaser for soloing. But for clean chords it's very nice.

Pretty darn simple - three knobs and a footswitch. Doesn't take a training class to figure it out.
I was happy with the sound right out of the box - but then I wasn't looking for a duplication of any specific sound. I wanted something deep, rich and cool - and different - and this did the trick.
Sound Quality

OK, so I love the sound - completely grooving on it - but I am not trying to replicate a Leslie or anyone else's classic sound. It just really made it for me.
I'm using a Twin reissue and Hot Rod, various guitars, Sans Amp up front but not a lot of drive. The pedal has a life of its own. It makes a moody, swirling chorus that was a revelation from the straight delay-based ones I have used. To me, it really has soul. It seems to have a little dirtiness as well. I think the combination of fat-bottom Fender with a clean or moderately dirty guitar sound is way cool. Think Dave Alvin "Ashgove" to get an idea - then go make your own sounds.
Like any effect, it's a personal thing. Arguing about it is a complete waste of everyone's time. I plugged it in, got completely turned on, and threw everything else away because it worked for me.

Considering that the effect is quite subtle (at left output - Chorus mode), it very easy to use; actually, I only fit the "Intensity" knob at maximum setting. If you don't have two amps, you won't use the Stereo recourse, then, you have to fit the "Mix" knob at maximum setting, too. When using the right output ("Vibrato" mode; I like it!), I got a little bit confused setting the "Mix" knob... turning it counterclockwise, the tone gets some "bassy" sound (like Hendrix did in "Stone Free" at The Fillmore, live recording with Band of Gypsys); turning it to the right, the tone gets more presence.

I own a Fender American Standard Stratocaster (discontinued), ash body, Delta Tone single coils through a Marshall JTM60 2x12. This pedal is 100% noiseless! I've never heard nothing like this... perfect! Some customers might think the effect could be more intense, because they're used to modern Chorus pedals, but these ones "freeze" the tone... awful! With the Uni-Vibe Stereo, I can get those wonderful tones, like Hendrix's "Machine Gun" (Live at Isle of Wight) and close to Clapton/George Harrison's "Badge". I get lots of fun playng funky songs using the Vibrato mode; it sounds "phasey" at low speed. Indispensable!

I play basically covers, like: Hendrix, blues and all the 60's stuff (I starded playing 13 years ago). My other pedals are: Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, MXR Micro Amp and Dunlop Cry Baby GCB 95. If it where stolen or lost, I'd cry a river... and would save for another one. I like the cabinet and the beauty logo, 60's styled. Once I have tried the Danelectro Rocky Road Spinning Speaker Simulator, but it has drive (too much!) and you can't turn it off; not too versatile. Tried the D.O.D. Stereo Chorus too, but... too cold and "juvenile". But the Uni-Vibe inspires me a lot!

I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio Gothic through a Marshall VS65R amp. I also use Monster Cables and Goerge L cables. I don't use a distortion pedal (my amp sounds great) or EQ or anything except a Dunlop Crybaby QZ-1. I used to play through a dozen pedals in my younger days and finally realised that it's the playing that matters and not all the effects. I was hoping to get a good Zakk Wylde Rotovibe effect along with some vintage Fender amp sounds. This pedal did not dissapoint me at all. The vibrato is everything you could possibly need and the chorus is very subtle and clear. I have experienced no loss of signal or noise from this pedal, clean or distorted. My only complaint on the sound is that the chorus could stand to be a little stronger but I am perefectly content with it as is.

Getting a great sound from this pedal is just piece of cake! The sound comes out as soon as you plug it in, without even yet have to mess around with the knobs. I bet most of us would just fell in love with the first sound you hear from it... if not, you still have the knobs to fine tune it! When it then come to that, YOU ARE IN LESLIE HAVEN! You can come up with lotsa different sounds... with just a slight turn of the knobs!

As I said, I have nothing to regret about this pedal! One of the best pedals I have... the sound are just simply amazing and refreshing. Whether on clean or distorted! And I should say, this is as good as its big brother (UV-1) and much much better than the Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe. The closest you can get to Leslie speakers in the from of a stomp-box!

Controls are pretty straightforward: Speed, Intensity, and Mix knobs. One input jack and two output jacks. Mix control goes from "wet" to "dry", or from mono chorus to "wide stereo" mode if both outputs are used. The manual says that one output is "chorus" and the other is "vibrato". Not difficult to get a decent chrous sound. One thing: you have to remove the four bottom screws to replace the battery - not sure how long batteries last in this unit.
Sound Quality

I got some backround chirping noise initially. Getting rid of cheapie cords solved that. By itself, most settings seem to roll off the highs quite a bit. Putting it after my SuperOverdrive SD-1 improved that a lot. I have a Fender Frontman 25R practice amp and a Stratocaster Plus. This is a better sounding unit than the BOSS Chorus series. I was hoping to achieve a Hendrix-like sound, and it'll do that and other sounds too.

Case is built like a tank. Even the knobs are metal. However, the entire back of the circuit card is exposed when you take the bottom off to change the battery - so I guess you could bust a solder joint if you were drunk enough.

I bought this pedal on E-Bay. They are inexpensive used, because Dunlop also offers the higher-end Roto-Vibe and Uni-Vibe models. I wanted something different and better than a BOSS Chorus. And something made in USA. This is a good pedal and it is underrated in the marketplace. I like using this with a slow speed with high intensity. I use both outputs into a "Y" and into my amp and I get a nice phasy kind of sound.

I use this with my only electric guitar, a '95 Gibson Les Paul Standard. It is run through a Fender 2x12 Hot Rod Deville amp. It is a quiet effect with a total bypass when turned off. I can get many vintage and modern tones from this effect. Chorus-Leslie sounds include: Hendrix (Little Wing 100% perfect), Blue Oyster Cult (Reaper, phases just perfect), Bryan Adams songs all rock on this effect, and almost all Police songs sound good. I use this effect in mono mode and it also has a right/vibrato output that I find very Tremelo-ish via Collective Soul- December or C.C.Revival oldie -ish. Using this effect with heavy distortion takes some tweaking, but it can be done and yes, it sounds good too!! It is my favorite effect of any I have ever known.

An excellent CHORUS. The best part is that it has it's own unique CHORUS sound.
A guy below gave it a 1 because it wasn't a real Uni-Vibe doesn't get it. It's unfortunate that Dunlop chose to use the Uni-Vibe name. I don't think their intention was to create a "cheap" version of the original Uni-Vibe. I believe their intention was to create a CHORUS effect that gave hints of a Uni-Vibe.
By his own admission, he bought it "on a whim via mail order without hearing it first." He'd probably buy Viagra over the Internet too.
If you're reading these reviews for your research before buying or trying, forget about that knucklehead's review. This is a CHORUS pedal, a very good one at that. If you're looking for a Uni-Vibe, get one.
I'm giving it a 10 to offset the unfair 1.

This is Dunlop's economy stripped down Univibe model, but in actuality does not sound like a real Univibe, only a psuedo cheesy copy.
Sound Quality
:
1
Simply put, This does NOT have the same circuit and tone as a "real" univibe. Most of the boutique copies and the other Dunlop Univibe do have a near authentic circuit, but this one does not. The main thing here is that to save money, the Oscillator in this one is a "simulated" univibe waveform and does not use a real vibe osc. circuit, unlike the "real ones", which all have a transistor osc. with lightbulbs controlling photoresistors, so this one does not have the correct waveform pulse as others do, which is why it is fake, cheap, and synthetic sounding compared to all the other Uni copies. It just doesn't have the right wave wobble or depth. It being "stereo" is bull as well, as all it is is one wet output and one dry, something you could do yourself with any pedal and a Y cord. This thing is a generic vibe wannabe with corners cut in the circuit design to have a low price and trick those who think they're getting a real vibe circuit and tone, but what you really get is a "simluated" circuit, which makes this pedal bad if you want true Uni tone. If you don't have a critical ear and don't need authentic Univibe sound, then maybe this will work for you-just don't call it "real" sounding. I have owned a real univibe, as well as played ALL the copies. This one should be named Uni-lite or Cheapo-vibe.

Your classic Hendrix, Trower rotary speaker effect. I compared it to the UV-1 Univibe and the sound is all there. I play it through a Gibson SG and a line of diiferent effects to a Crate amp miked into a sound system and haven't noticed any noise. The effect has 2 outputs, one for chorus and the other for vibrato which you can use seperately or together. You sacrifice the control pedal with this effect but for half the price of the "big boy" what can you expect? And you can use a 9 volt battery or the adapter that's sold seperately. try running it before or after your distortion to suit your taste. I've always played Hendrix and Trower stuff and now I can nail it down!
