THIS IS THE SAME AS MOST OVERDRIVES TO USE DRIVE VOLUME AND TONE.THIS IS MY SECOND DYTONE PEDAL TO BUY AND I AM VERY PLEASED YET AGAIN THE SOUND PRODUCED IS EXCELLENT,MORE GAIN THEN A TUBE SCREAMER WITH GOOD CUT THROUGH IN FRONT OF A VALVE AMP WITH THE GAIN SET 30% ON THE AMP IT PRODUCES A NICE SETTING FOR BLUES LEAD.

Sound Quality : 10
I USE THIS INFRONT OF A FAME STUDIO 50 WATT REVERB OR A CRATE VC212,WITH EITHER HUMBUCKERS OR SIGLE COILS,I THINK IT IDEAL FOR BLUES PLAYING AND HAS ALOT MORE DRIVE IN IT COMPARED TO A TUBE SCREAMER.

Reliability : 9
I AM SURE I COULD DEPEND ON IT IN A PEDAL CASE ALL PEDALS WILL LAST OUNCE YOU MIND THEM.CONSTRUCTION IS GOOD AND IT IS NICE AND COMPACT.I WOULD USE IT WITHOUT A BACK UP AS IT IS A PRETTY SOLID PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.

Customer Support : No Opinion
HAD NO TROUBLE WITH ANY DYTONE PRODUCTS YET.

Overall Rating : 10
I PLAY MOSTLY BLUSE ROCK AND I THINK THIS IS IDEAL FOR THAT TYPE OF MUSIC,I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 20 YEARS AND I HAVE TRIED ALOT OF BRANDS AND SINCE I TRIED DYTONE I AM VERY SATISFIED AND TO ME THEY SOUND BETTER THAN PEDALS WHICH ARE SUPPOSE TO BE THE BEES KNEES,IF IT GOT LOST I WOULD GET ANOTHER ONE,BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THE SOUND IT PRODUCES,I THINK IT IS SIMILAR TO A BOSS BLUES DRIVER I HAVE ONE AND THIS WOULD BE A BETTER SOUNDING UNIT,I GOT MINE SECOND HAND ON EBAY FOR 90 EURO A BARGIN.

I had this pedal for a couple of days and tried it at home at low volume and thought it sounded pretty good. I took it to a rehearsal and played it with my 30w valve amp. The noise this pedal made when turned on and off was horrendous and rendered it completely unusable. I took it back to GAK who at first told me I should not be using it at the settings I had dialed in - what the hell does this mean ? Should it come with a manual showing settings that you should not be using ? They then said that the clicking noise (which was like a rifle shot) was because it was true bypass and therefore a sign of QUALITY !! Idiots. Shame because it actually sounded rather good.

Easy, three knobs only. If you??re familiar with other OD pedals, you won??t have any problems.

Sound Quality : 7
I play mostly Blues and classic Rock stuff and I use this pedal with different Fender Strats and a ??74 Twin Reverb. The amp is set clean, so I have to rely on pedals for overdrive and distortion.

Basically, the Smoozy reminds me of a Tubesreamer, but compared to a typical TS-style pedal, it offers more gain and lacks the annoying mid-hump.
It sounds a little bit thinner and more aggressive but has a nice "singing" character.
Dynamics are good, but it doesn??t clean up too well when you roll down the guitar volume (which is how I usually control the gain on my pedals).
It cuts through the mix very well in a band situation.

Reliability : 10
Build quality seems excellent, so I don??t expect any issues here.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Can??t say, I never dealt with Dytone.

Overall Rating : 7
I??ve had a ton of boutique pedals and this is definitely one of the better ones.

However, if it were lost or stolen, I??d probably get something different.
With my amp and other gear, there are better options. As far as I can tell, it??s no match for a H&K TubeFactor or Barber Direct Drive.

Cant get much easier. The only slight downside is that there is no quick loading battery compartment. Its an unscrew the back Jobbie.

Sound Quality : 10
The thing that I love about the smoozy is that it is so quiet. Its a powerful sound but you dont seem get all that hiss and static when not playing. Really nice and Ultra Smooth. Rumour has it that Gary Moore has recently invested in one of these so that paints a picture of the quality and style of sound this pedal gives better than I can. I tried it out at GAK and fell in love with it. It gives a range of sounds from really light valvey style vintage overdrive to a owerful ballsy rock. All of them are smooth and not at all harsh, but without compromising the top end. Anyone out there after a pedal that will transorm their sound into a REALLY pro tone. BUY ONE NOW!!!

Reliability : 10
Never let me down yet. Batteries seem to last a good while too.

Never gone wrong so no dealings with them personally.

Overall Rating : 10
For any style of musice that needs a crisp smooth natural sounding overdrive this is DEFINATELY the best pedal I've ever heard. It beats hands down the mxr's and boss mass produced units I was previously using. I cant believe that more people dont use these.
