The effect is not a wah, but an "aural exiter." Use the effect sparingly. Aphex was the first company to market this technology (which is probably used on 90% of the tracks we listen to on the radio). I have one of these pedals that's not working (bummer). We used to use it to record vocals. Get on Aphex's website or google "aural exiter" and you'll find some great applications for the effect. The pedal cost about $350.00 in the mid 80's. Good luck.

Anything. Used for recording (sparingly... turn the knob until you start to hear the sizzle and quit; more is not better)

A combined wah/ volume pedal with two switched on top. One switch selects wah or volume, the other is a bypass for wah only.

I run a Strat through this into a Crate VC30 (awesome amp, see the reviews). The volume works as you would expect and the wah has quite a small tonal range. Although my Morley kicks it's ass range wise it is great for subtle tone changes. The volume and wah can be used together giving a subtle but restricted envelope filter effect.

What a monster! This thing is huge and built like a tank. It has a hard wired mains cord and all cast construction. Weighs a ton. this thing would be impossible to break. Your Tele would rot first.

Have I ever dealt with the company? What company? Bought in a junk shop in Australia. No one I know has ever heard of EXR!

I have submitted this item mainly to see if anyone can shed any light on who this company may be or any related information. If you have any info I would love to see a follow up. I am very happy with this buy. It looks like a bulldozer crossed with a Christmas tree because of the amount of LEDs on it. Although a small range it has a cool subtle tone. and will see much use in my rig.
