The UA-100 (Audio Canvas) is a audio and MIDI processing unit with a USB interface. It has 20-bit A/D-D/A converters for audio playback and recording using a PC, as well as a 2 input / 2 output MIDI interface. It also has a built-in 24 bit (internal) DSP multi-effect that can be used for recording or playback.
The unit includes a printed "Startup Manual" and CD-ROM containing the drivers, control software and documentation in HTML format. The printed manual will help you install the drivers and control software but nothing else. For more information you'll have to read the HTML document which is poorly explained and has many features that are just plain missing.

The audio quality is quite good and would be better if it had 24 bit converters, but there is no obvious noise problem. It has most of the effects you could ever want including delays, chorus, reverb, guitar multis, etc. It also has a VT-1 voice transformer and mic simulator.
The quality of the effects is certainly what you would expect from Roland. They are great.

This unit has all you need to create a small home studio. The USB interface means you can also use it with a notebook computer. It's a shame the documentation is so poorly written that many of it's features may be overlooked.
